Shun debuted on the small screen when he was 13...he started gaining some attention with his role of 'Uchiyama Haruhiko' aka "Uchi" in the hit drama Gokusen back in 2002, but it wasn't until 2005 that he had his breakthrough role as 'Hanazawa Rui' in the hugely popular drama Hana Yori Dango and he rose to prominence...he gained even more attention with his role as 'Sano Izumi' in Hanazakari no Kimitachi e in 2007. Shun also had his first major leading role as the smart & bright young detective 'Kudo Shinichi' in the Detective Conan live action movies...although his actual debut leading role was in Hitsuji no Uta back in 2002. Apart from being an talented actor, he is also a seiyu (basic japanese term for 'voice actor') and has provided voice overs for animes & cartoons. He has also starred in several stage plays with the help of his theatrical roots. He is also a dj. Despite Shun's acting talent, he actually prefers to star in supporting roles for dramas & movies, but loves to play the lead role in stage plays. He also hosts a radio show on All Night Nippon, and his listeners gave him the nickname of "Shunkerbelle", when Matsumoto Jun (his close friend and fellow actor/singer) guested on his show, he thought the name had something to do with tinkerbelle! he has grown a lot since the first time i saw him... i think it was on "GTO" just finished watching him on "hana yori dango" and i think he did pretty good on Rui's character. he's such a cutie.

I fancy tall man. & He's always so kakoii in drama. I dig up one of his old serie, Stand Up. Man he's was so cute in it. Love him !!! He looks good in modern and period drama. i love oguri shun! i first saw him in gokusen. i just watched hana yori dango and he made a terrific rui. he was so adorable in both those series. oguri was wonderful as both the bad boy in gokusen and the sensitive F4 in HDY. plus it doesn't hurt that he's so friggin hot! haha.

I just watch Hana Yori Dango and he's my favorite. Oguri Shun is so handsome. Beautiful. His acting is so subtle...he has this presense that just can't be ignored even if he's only playing a secondary character. has he played the male lead in any drama yet?

I seem to remember him from the series 'under one roof', I think he played the little brother of the girl Wo yah liked. I remembered thinking that he must have been new to the business because I don't think I saw him before that series. Anyways, he is pretty good looking as Japanese actors go, but he looks sort of weird from the side. However he does act well in most of the series he is in especially in 24 hours Emergency Ward III.
