Michael Miu, Melissa Ng, Bernice Liu, Yuen Kit Yee, Patrick Tang and Vivien Yeo were among the stars gathered for the costume tryout for TVB's new series "Disappearance". After taking a guest role in the production of "The Academy" (Police Cadet Brave Hearts) last summer, Michael returns to TVB this time taking the lead role as a private detective.

When asked whether he would be uncovering secret love affairs, Michael says: "It is not just about investigating romances, when you lose a cat, or a dog or even a shoe, you can ask someone to find it for you. The storyline is very light and interesting." When asked if he has left his business in the capable hands of his wife Jamie Chik whilst he is filming, he explains: "We have our other partners keeping an eye on things and our time is spread out well, so I agreed to do this series. As the filming is in Hong Kong and it is a modern show, then it should be very relaxed. Filming last time brought back a lot of happy memories and to be able to work with so many new stars, it is very refreshing. (Will Jamie be coming back to acting?) She is interested, but she has to look after the home, so it is down to me to do it instead."

It was mentioned by Alan Tam that the reviews for his new album are good and even "Ho Man Tin's Fat Chun" (Jamie) has been praising him. Does Michael mind about this? He laughs that he doesn't mind because this nickname was given to her by Alan and has been with her for a long time. She did put on a lot of weight three or four years ago but she is a lot better now. Also Alan is her idol, so whatever he calls her, she will accept it!

Melissa will be playing Michael's girlfriend in the show and working with Michael for the first time, she says excitedly: "I am so happy to be able to work with 'Sam Gor' (Miu's nickname). This is the first time I will be playing two different characters in the same show as I will also be playing my character's missing sister. As the 'sister' character is also that of the mistress of a triad gang leader, I will have to smoke for the role. Later when I have finished filming for 'Fantasy Hotel', then I will be cutting my hair short to tie in with this character."

As for Kit Yee, who has just joined TVB, this is her first series with the comapany and she will be playing a homosexual character and will also be cutting her hair short. She says: "I will be playing a tomboy who is attracted to Melissa's character and it is very different to what I have played in the past, so I hope that I can put aside the 'Big sister Kit Yee' image that has followed me for so long."

Bernice reveals that in the show she will be playing Michael's assistant and also a detective. In order to follow their leads, she will have to play many different roles, from a massage girl to Charlie's angels, so there will be a lot of sexy images. She says: "There will be a chance to try a lot of different looks, even a masseuse, so it should be a lot of fun! I will be working with Michael, Kenneth Ma and Power Chan for the first time, so it will be very refreshing."

aw...too bad was really looking forward for Ken to have a big role in here, well at least big enough to be paired or have alot of screen time with Bernice. Costaring with Bernice does seem very fresh since we haven't seen them work together before. O well, at lest he has a knew hair cut which makes him look cuter, is a police officer, and get to wear cooler clothes than the ones he used to wear for roles that are suppose to act dumb or innocent. (Hope Bernice's fans won't mine me saying this, since some might not like Kenneth.)

Due to his work as a police officer, Ko Chung Ching (Michael Miu) first loses his wife when she leaves him and then his son, who runs away and the two people dearest to him disappear from his life... Later on, Ching leaves the police force and sets up his own detective agency. On one hand, he helps other people find their lost items and on the other, he continues to look for clues on where to find his lost family. He has three assistants at the agency: .. (Power Chan), Man Tai Bo (Bernice Liu) and Lam Yan Yan (Vivien Yeo). Later, he meets .. (Melissa Ng) and embarks on a many stranded love affair...

Bernice:
"When I received this script, I was really happy because I really love this role and it gives me a chance to shine. As she is not a police officer, she does not have the right to do any direct investigation, so my character has to dress up a lot, like Charlies Angels, so I will have a lot of different images. I am really looking forward to playing with pinhole cameras and listening bugs as a private detective. I think everyone has this idea of what detectives do, like when women hire their services to check on what their boyfriends are up to."

Michael:
"After filming 'The Academy' as a police cadet trainer, I now move onto becoming a detective in 'Disappearance', which is a good natural progression. The role seems to be written with me in mind because he is around the same age, same personality and has a son as well. As for the selling point, then it was the lack of detective investigation shows lately and of course the chance to be the male lead! Haha! To be able to share acting experiences with the younger generation feels good. Take for example the three younger female leads in the show Melissa, Bernice and Vivien, they are all from abroad, but they are still so professional and hard working, always being fully prepared in their work."

I'm so happy that Michael Mui's back! I haven't seen him in a serie for a very long time! He's still so fit like before. Makes me think back the "5 Tigers" from the 1980s. They were the best! Hope this serie come out soooon.....

It has a cockroach as the life of his girlfriend. The theme song of it was Alan Tam's song. Sorry, for going off the topic of this series for a bit. I'm glad to see all the old actors coming back into TVB

About the series with the Alan Tam themesong, it's called "Fearless Duo" and the girl who plays his wife is Barbara Yung Mei Ling.

It's so nice to finally have my Miu back in leading roles again. He started his career in 1980 and peaked at around 1984. Wow, that's like over 20 years ago yet Miu is stilll so fit. Unbelievable.

How come all of a sudden michael miu is coming back.....

i heard that after his cameo in the movie "jiang hu" it renewed his interest in acting. he's not busy with business stuff nowadays so he thought it'd be fun to act in TVB series again. i'm watching "the academy" right now and he's really good in it. i can't wait to watch this serial when it comes out.

I think she should go back to her old look. I saw some pics of her at the blessing ceremony for this series and she did look pretty too.

Both are NOT the official TVB english title .They are just literally translated based on the TVB chinese title . however, Destiny Is You would be a better choice
