Pretty simple concept. Attractive mid-western girl goes on show to find her dream guy. She can pick from 14 "cute guys." What she intially doesn't know is that not all of them are straight: some are gay. If she picks a straight guy, they each get $500,000, and of course, a chance at a relationship. If she picks a gay guy, he gets the million dollars and she gets nothing along with a broken heart. Viewers and the people on the show don't know how many gay guys there are and who's gay or straight. The gay guys are pretending to be straight in order to win the money.

Anyone watch the first episode? I thought it was hilarious. Most of those guys aren't hot at all. The girl isn't very pretty herself.

It's kind of hard picking out who's gay and who's not. I thought one of the two she picked to leave at the end of the first show was gay. Apparently, he's not. At least I'm not her. I think I'll keep watching this, if I remember to, to see what happens. She already picked two straight guys to leave... so her chance of winning $500,000 is slipping away already. The things people do for money... it's kind of sad

argh, i really watched to watch the pilot episode of this show but i missed it...grr! it looks like a fun show...i can't WAIT to see who she picks.

That would be sad. But I don't understand how she could fall in "love" with one of those guys. They're all on the show for the money. They're also deceiving her too, so it's hard for me to believe she will find "love."

Yea, she picked two straight guys to go, though one of them seemed like he was really gay.

Eh, not all of them are hot. Some aren't.

It's weird how most often gay guys are really hot. Too bad they're gay

I think it was because she thought they were gay... or unsure if they were gay or straight. I thought Gust was really gay! But apparently he's not.
Yea, the first episode was boring. But I think I'll keep watching it, to see what happens. And to see if she does pick a gay guy in the end or not...

this show just aired last week here in Manila , i find the concept funny.. it's hard to pinpoint who's gay or not..

FOX pulls its 'Playing It Straight' gaydar reality series from the air

Three episodes into its originally scheduled six-episode run, FOX announced yesterday evening that it is pulling its Playing It Straight series from the network's broadcast schedule.

Citing the poor ratings that the program has drawn in its Fridays at 8PM ET/PT timeslot, FOX announced that the program will be pulled immediately but will return to the airwaves sometime this summer so that its viewers can learn how the program ends. Starting this Friday, the program's timeslot will be filled by episodes of Totally Outrageous Behavior and World's Craziest Videos.

A lot of gay and lesbian rights groups and organizations tried to get Fox to not air this and I stand by them. "Playing It Straight" harasses people who are homosexual indirectly.

Is this a US show because when I watched it I thought it was an Australian show. Maybe there are 2 versions....
