This lingering issue will no doubt have its conclusion one day. I think for most taiwanese ppl reunification is welcomed. After all, the deep sense of Chinese heritage will forever tie their roots back to the motherland.

It makes about as much sense for the small isle to become a renegade country as it does for Tasmania to declare independence from mainland Australia.

War is most likely a pompous threat. However, if it did ensue do you really think America will honour a 'century' old promise to protect Taiwan, given China's ever growing economical power and market potential? Looking at the United State's infamous history of supporting corrupt & totalitarean regimes in other countries in exchange for economic gains, fighting a country that supplies >80% of their children's xmas gifts is probably not in line with their norm.

Just like Hong kong and macau, China will regain authority of taiwan, albeit with no set date as of yet.

Chip is already over supply.
Price may go up, not that much.

You guys make it sound like Taiwan is important country, country with no recognition what so ever.

China should not forget that they've won the Olympic because of Korea.
Korea also support 'One China' and don't support 'Free Tibet', Falung gong and 'Free Uighur '. If Korea supports Taiwan, Tibet movement, Falung gong and Uyghur movement then China will experience huge problems. Thank Korea.

You still going on about Korea again SNK. lol.... Even if the supply of RAM is higher then demands, the news of the halt of production of RAM chips due to acts of god, it would still make the price go up. You don't have to wait for the supply of ram to start to dwindle before the price would be effected.

Korea is not the only member of the IOC, there are loads of other countries too. If Korea don't vote for China then other countries could and China just needs more votes then the other candidates to get awarded the olympic games. Other members of the IOC are just as important as Korea. China is a larger power then s.korea and the koreans are the ones who needs to keep China happy and not the other way around.

Also you said South Korea are supporting "one china" and doesn't support all the other groups you mentioned like "free tibet", doesn't that say something? It says that Korea doesn't want to pi$$ off China by supporting Free Tibet and etc. They want to keep China on their good side because Korea can't annoy China.

Using your arguement that Korea has power over China because if China upsets Korea then they will vote against China on everything then other countries can do the same too. Sooo China has to keep every country in the world happy and not upset a single country? Otherwise they would all decide not to support China in the IOC or the UN? When it comes to Asian trade partners for China, Japan is a much more important partner to China then Korea is.
