Introducing.... The Attic Cat!

main cast:

http://img.imbc.com/./broad/tv/drama/cat/c...80_1_178_30.jpg
from left to right: Kim Rae Won, Jung DaBin, Lee Hyun Woo, Choi Yoon Jin

Though the quality of the video isn't as great, it is still a good chance to see one of the hottest and latest K-dramas w/ english subs.

NOTE: This is the drama that is majorly affecting the ratings for KBS's Summer Scent!

Those in SoCal can watch the series on TV w/o eng subs (since it began airing July 21st at the 9:30pm timeslot, replacing My Blind Love that just ended the previous week).

So far 5 out of the 16 episodes have been uploaded.

Here's info on the series, taken from soompi.com and its forums:

review:

Ohk Tab Bang Go Yang Eeh- The Attic Cat (MBC)
cast: Kim Rae Won, Jung Da Bin, Lee Hyun Woo, Choi Jung Yoon

Kim Rae Won is a lazy but smart law student who seems to have no other goal in life but to start a relationship with Choi Jung Yoon, a snobby law student who has a striking resemblence to his dead mother. Jung Da Bin is a high school graduate, who tries so hard to find a job and support herself. She is materialistically poor, but carries a strong spirit and an optimistic view on life. When Kim finds out that Jung is Choi's friend, Kim tries so hard to be good friends with Jung. When Jung decides to move out of her house, Kim helps out with the money. When Kim starts being chased by kkang paes (thugs) because he has a gambling debt, he starts living with Jung at the house he rented for her. Although they pretend they don't have feelings for eachother, they care for eachother and help eachother out. Lee Hyun Woo is Jung's new employer, who falls in love with Jung's simplicity and personality. Choi also starts showing an interest towards Kim when she finds out that he is the grandson of a rich man. In this confusing love triangle, Kim and Jung have the funniest moments together while living with eachother, but will their love ever overcome the love they have for other people, and the love that people have for them?
rating: 5 stars
comments: This drama is very funny! Adapted from a popular comic book series, Jung and Kim are a good pair and their acting is very smooth and realistic. Worth watching for laughs and occasionally emotional scenes. Recommended!

This is the series that gave me hope in watching Korean series again... gave me hope that Korean series are capable of having comedy and romance at the same time. It's short, with only 16 episodes, and it's sweet. There is not a dull moment in this series, and I've grown to love the two main actors in here so much: Jung Da Bin and Kim Rae Won. There is definite chemistry between the two. I give this series TWO THUMBS UP!!! Wayyyy UPPP!! Will stay a favorite of mine for a long time biggrin.gif .

My opinions of this series changed after I watched the first five minutes of this! It's so funny and entertaining, and I love the ending too biggrin.gif. Very sweet!! But I kinda wished that they could have elaborate more on Da Bin and Rae Won's happy life together before the story ends biggrin.gif.

I just finish watching this series yesterday night. Really love it. Eventhough it's korean series but it doesn't have that typical Korean story, doesn't have the illness, nobody dies, no step sister or brother. Very hilarious .

I am touched by Jung Dabin who love Kim Rae Won so sincerely that she wants to do anything for this guy. Also I like the character of Jung Dabin's boss who actually love and pay so much attention to Jung Dabin. He is a very good listener to all Jung n Raewon's love's quarrels. Too bad, the story doesn't tell what happen with him at the end.

The one who play in My Love Patzzi with Jang Nara is Kim Jae Won and Kim Rae Won. Both are good actors. I like this movie too.

Sorry, I guess I may confuse u with that.

Raewon n Jung have a good happy ending. After Jung went back from England, she meet again with Raewon. And she was surprised that Raewon still live at that same house which they live together be4. Eventhough infact, both are getting annoyed by each other sometimes but without 1 of them, the other feels empty n can not live without.

What I dunno is about the Jung' manager/boss who love n care for Jung too, but at the end of the story , he doesn't end up with anybody. (I guess I just feel kind a pity of him, Jung's manager also potrays a nice patient character here). Hmm ... don't really matter, la.... I suppose he is just an addition in this series.

Would you believe that i finished watching this drama in just 2 days. I really like it a lot but sometimes I don't like the character of Kim Rae Won especially when he get the money of Jung Da Bin just to buy a new pair of shoes. But I can forgive him easily because he's Kim Rae Won. They're cute together but i noticed some similarities of some scenes in the Joyful Girl Success Story like Kim Rae Won sold his watch to buy Dabin new Dress. Jang Hyuk also sold his watch to buy a birthday present to Jang Nara, same living in the rooptop of an apartment, encouraging Kim Rae Won in passing the Board Exam, encouraging Han Ki Tae to reclaim his company, exchanging rings in the ending too. I'm watching it again but one episode per day. I think I can see some more similatiries. But all in all it's a wise buy. A must see to all the fans of Jung Dabin and Kim Rae Won.

This drama is hilarious!!! It shows the growing relationship between Kim Rae Won & Jung Da Bin. Jung Da Bin liked Kim Rae Won since the beginning but it was still nice to see how Kim Rae Won realized he had feelings for Jung Da Bin. When I was watching this...I just couldn't stop. A must-see.

seen it, i got to give credit to the people that picked the cast. The main actress is so damn ugly but, she fit the part perfectly. Therefore, i assume they didn't discriminate during the screening!

This series was out in Viet quite awhile ago. It was a great series that I didn't get one minute bored of. The two main characters were sooo soo cute together ^^; I love the main girl's acting and characters the most. She was so caring, thoughtful, independent and mature that I fell for her sweet loving personality sooner than I had expected. Her face didn't matter. At first I thought she was so ugly, however, the more I watched the more I got attached to her. Also, the fact that she isn't pretty made me feel closer to her, made me feel that she is one that actually exists in real life and so I felt the close connection. I hope to see more of her series. Kim Rae Won was quite a jerk in this series but I couldn't hate him for long, kekke. Recommended. Watch it and you won't regret.

Summary of Attic cat ! Great series, i wouldn't miss it~ !
Nam Jung-eun (Jung Da-bin), is a bright, smart, yet stubborn, adorable, girl. She meets Lee Kyung-min (Kim Rae-won), who is your usual outgoing, irresponsible, young man. Jung-eun and Kyung-min become friends. Kyung-min likes Jung-eun’s friend, Na Hye-rin (Choi Jung-yoon). Hye-rin was always the perfect girl guys liked. But too bad for Kyung-min, Hye-rin likes another…Yoo Dong-joon (Lee Hyun-woo).

Jung-eun’s family is moving out of Seoul, but against her parents wishes, Jung-eun stays behind. Jung-eun at the time did not have any money because her younger brother stole her money that she has been saving. Luckily, Kyung-min lends her money, and with that money she rents a place. Because of unfortunate events, Kyung-min ends up living with Jung-eun.

As Jung-eun and Kyung-min become closer, both will realizes that their feelings for one another are not just of friends.

I liked Attic Cat... It's cute and funny. It's amazing what Jeong-eun would put up with though. I guess love is blind. laugh.gif

But I'm not sure if I quited like the ending. (Spoiler Ahead!!) It's very typical of how Korean dramas end... Girl finally gets a backbone and leaves/doesn't go after guy and leaves the country. Eventually she returns to Korea and runs into the guy by accident and they end up together.

i don't think this series was overrated at all. It was very refreshing to see a happy Korean show. Admittedly, there were some annoying parts, but overall it worked. the 2 main leads looked really good together and they sparked off really well off one another. That other guy, though, was much too stoic and pretty much had only 1 expression throughout show. the 2nd girl was your typically "nonattaintable" gal and did her part very well. it got a bit draining watching him move in/out every time and their constant breakups (Full House reminded me lots of this drama due to this!), but i would definately recommend this to folks.

um after watchin this serie the more annoyed i get from tat main guy... man he is so self centered n selfish.... always thinkin about himself n not her... i think she should have given him a harder time because he doesn't really deserve her kindness after treating her badly one after another.... but i guess luv is blind!!! good thing is tat he changed!!!

This is the funniest movie that I have watch so far from Korean Movie. I watch so much sad Korean Movie that I kind of get bored with every movie that I watch. Watching Korean Movie makes my life more depressing and afraid to fall in love, because it never ends well. But after I watch this funny movie, I have a different looks about life. I suppost to be happy. Life is not always depressing. Like the main actress, she has a lot of confident on finding her love. She is a strong person and that is what I like about her. She is not afraid of being dump that is what I mean. For all other Korean Movie, girl always cry and be sensitive when their love one walk away or something...It's not realistics\.

Does anyone has any recommendation for another funniest movie like this one. Good comedy, not the jokey, dummy kind that is so stupid that you couldn't laught. hi hi hi

It's a fun drama with a good balance of humor and tears. It has a lot of funny moments (the drool of JDB in the library and JDB having a blind date). I felt sad for JDB everytime she cries for KRW as I think he's a jerk (the character OK?) that should get a few slaps. Too bad that their reunion at the rooftop at the end is so short.

Actually, Dong Jin ends up with a woman at the end. Remember when he asks her to take her out to Dinner, and then she says she'll pay but the guy is like, "Let's have together next time..." and she asks "Why?" And he says he needs to "feed his cat at home."

Cat probably refers to a woman. Remember, when Jung use to refer to Kim Rae Won as her cat and had to feed him and such.

I really loved this Korean Drama. It was quite humerous in a lot of parts. Kim Rae Won is so funny hahaha.

attic cat is one of the best korean tv series that hits the country, for those who would like to watch this must see korean translated into tagalog language tv series which will be aired from mondys-thru fridays at 10 in the evening philippine time at gma network. am so glad and thankful that we've had a priveledge to see this hilarious but tearful love affair between the 2 opposite people which in turn like each other most. i dunno much about the charaters since their names were different and hard to memorized..hehehe
the show is already a big hit here in the philippines for those who like skorean telenovelas as we speak. i have also watched full house, stairway to heaven and all about eve but i guess this attic cat series makes everybody in the house get thrilled everytime we watched it every night. thanks for bringing this nice series..

This series is pretty nice, I heard this was compared to Full House (my favorite series) many times, so I thought I would give it a try. Acting was very good and the chemistry was pretty nice as well. The plot I thought was a bit better than Full House, but it was the ending which got me emotional.
