Kevin Cheng replaces Moses Chan for Anniversary Month

Every year TVB produces an annual calendar, indicating which artists would TVB promote in the following year. Normally, artists that appear on the calendar are either TVB’s #1 brothers and sisters or artists that are well received by the public. This year TVB will feature over 60 artists in their 2008 calendar, along with only 4 of the months will have location scenery of Taiwan as a background.

Supposedly, on September 9th, Kevin Cheng was to have his calendar photo shoot along with Kate Tsui, Sarah Song, etc. at a Taiwan location scene. However when Kevin found out that he was to pair with Kate, etc. and his calendar month was May (nothing special in May), his face immediately darken and requested to be switched! Originally, scheduled on 10th of September for the November month photo shoot was Charmaine Sheh, Jessica Hsuan, Roger Kwok, and Moses Chan, but due to Moses’ “sudden” flight cancellation, Kevin filled in the vacant spot.

From what was learn, Kevin was unhappy with the pairings TVB made, indicating Kate’s not qualify enough to place along side him. Kevin expressed his dissatisfactions to the executives and at the end, got his way, as Moses is out and he was in.

The good thing about him is you barely hear anything about him like he's a good boy you never hear the news about spottin him in a strip club etc. he's really cute and the shockin thing about Kevin is that he's 38 and he doesn't even look like it at all. he looks 25 and he has an excellent body too!!

Kevin Cheng Ka Wing, Roger Kwok Chun On and Law Lok Lam filmed for TVB series, "Walking with the Enemy" 《與敵同行》. The scene spoke of Kevin discovering step father, Law Lok Lam, spying on Kevin's little sister in the shower. Unable to withstand Law's sexual fantasies in his sister, Kevin violently beat up Law.

Roger's character was blackmailed by Law and took the opportunity to murder him and blame it on Kevin.

Roger tried his best while acting opposite another TVB Best Actor, Kevin. Both actors' performances had their strengths. Roger was unafraid of comparison, "If there must be comparison, I hope we get equal points. No matter how good your acting is, it is important to have good co-stars. An artist can not shine on his own!"

While filming the scene yesterday, Kevin accidentally injured Law Lok Lam on the face. Kevin apologized profusely and put an ice pack over Law's injury.

Although Kevin's mistake was not intentional, he promised to treat Law to dinner as an apology.

Roger Kwok, Kevin Cheng, and Yoyo Mung filmed a scene on a building roof top for "Walking with the Enemy." The building was thirteen stories high. Although the stunt appeared to be dangerous, adequate safety precautions were taken.

Roger laughed, "The building is very high! I am afraid to glance below! If I look, I will definitely become scared!"

"The scariest moment is when I fell over the ledge. If I focus on the acting, then I will not become anxious. Artists have to concentrate and not become distracted while acting."

Although Kevin Cheng also had to film dangerous stunts in "Walking With the Enemy," Roger was more fortunate. Roger's wife, Cindy Au prepared chicken leg with tomato and potato soup for him. Roger happily said, "Chicken leg is beneficial in preventing weak knees. Tomatoes assist in preventing sunburn. And potatoes make me less 'dorky!'"

Kevin Cheng Dismisses Negative Press

Kevin Cheng was yesterday interviewed by radio station 903. It was earlier reported that Kevin was extremely upset to be paired up with Kate Tsui and Sarah Song for the TVB calendar shoot because he claimed the two to be ‘not high level enough’. This resulted in Kevin swapping places with Moses Chan. Regarding such reports, Kevin explained, “This happened because Moses, who was filming in Tibet at the time, could not fly to Taiwan in time. Charmaine Sheh, Bobby Au Yeung, Yoyo Mung, Kevin Cheng and Frankie Lam appeared at the prayer ceremony for new series, "Forensic Heroes 2" 《法證先鋒2》. Producer Mui Siu Ching invited cast members to play in a lottery, with the prize being a lucky packet. However, the lucky numbers for the lotto were already revealed last night.

Among the six numbers that Charmaine selected, none of them turned out to be the winning numbers. In the past, Charmaine bought a lotto ticket with a colleague and ending up winning $8,000 (HKD). Bobby Au Yeung, Kevin Cheng, and Frankie Lam filmed an outdoor scene for "Forensic Heroes 2" 《法證先鋒2》. The three crime scene investigators arrived to collect evidence at a traffic accident scene.

With the upcoming TVB anniversary in November, rumors claim that TVB management was split into 2 factions: with Stephen Chan Chi Wan leading one group while Virginia Lok and Catherine Tsang heading the other group.

Allegedly, Ms. Lok's favorites, Moses Chan and Kevin Cheng may receive awards on Anniversary night. Kevin laughed and said the rumors were creative. Kevin explained that TVB artists were not broken into factions. Their main focus centered around acting only.

In response to claims that Kevin was Ms. Lok's favorite, he said, "No, that's not true! Stephen Chan also praised me! Mr. Chan is impartial when it comes to business matters. There will always be artists with stronger abilities than others. But I do not believe that factions exist among TVB artists."

Kevin's leg injury has gotten better. One scene required him to run with a grenade in his hand. Despite his injury, Kevin said he was able to film the scene.

Bobby Au Yueng mentioned that while filming a paint ball scene earlier, he got sunburned and his skin was peeling.

Yesterday, Kevin Cheng, Niki Chow, and Bosco Wong attended the promotion of TVB series “The Seventh Day”.
People are still mentioning about the scandal. Kevin believes the incident should come to a stop.
He doesn’t want to talk about it too much. Bosco said that he received e-mails containing the nude pictures but he wasn’t interested in viewing them. Niki doesn’t want to comment on Edison Chen’s apology footage. She hopes that everyone focuses their attention on the snow disaster in mainland China instead.

They were all confident on the series’ rating. Kevin said: “When I watch the footage again, I became very emotional and I cried.” Valentine’s Day is approaching and all three needs to work.
Niki will go to the US for functions leaving Kevin all alone to promote the series.

The reporter inquired about what Kevin is giving this Valentine. He said: “I won’t talk about it! I usually don’t give a response (about that).” Niki admitted that she doesn’t mind cooperating with Kevin each year in series as long as the audience likes it. To demonstrate the importance that TVB regards the collaboration, artists Bobby Au Yeung, Charmaine Sheh, Kevin Cheng Ka Wing, Wong He, Bosco Wong and Myolie Wu attended a press conference to promote the show. This year Bosco also did gave out 'start work laai see', he continue to give until 7th day of CNY. He also says that if the series ratings reaches 40 points, he would not mind to give out more. Yesterday he wore sunglasses, it turns out that during CNY he ate too many fried foods causing him to get a pimple on his eyebrow. This year CNY, he spent thousands of dollars buying toys to build at home, it can be consider as a big lost in blood (its an expression). Speaking of yesterday being Valentines Day, he immediately gets a pimple and does not dare to go out anywhere. Reporters laughs and says that he could call Myolie for help to get rid of the pimple. He laughs, "I'm afraid I might get a scar!"

In addition, yesterday Natalie received flowers and a diamond earring from fans. Even though, the diamond isn't that big, but she's already really happy. Inside the Story

Like a lot of stories, this tv series deals with the love story of two pairs as the plot. There are four main characters. They include Kevin Cheng, Niki Chow, Bosco Wong, and Natalie Tong. The main story involves Kevin and Niki. Their story begins with misunderstanding and later understanding. “At the beginning, I mistook Yau Chi Wing (Played by Kevin) as a bad guy. Later, after spending time with him I discover that he’s actually a guy who values friendship and is serious about love. Because of this, I start developing feelings for him.” This is how Niki and Kevin begin their relationship in the series. A very touching love story unfolds. “Out of all the series that I’ve filmed so far, this is the first one that I was so touched that I cried while watching it. Many of my colleagues who have seen it say that it has a Korean flavor to it,” said Kevin. Even Kevin cried while watching this series, it must mean this series would touch a lot of people. In the series, Kevin is carefree and not serious about his job. It is hard for him to express himself. However, he treats his friends really well and is faithful and serious about love. After dating Niki, he starts to have goals and becomes more diligent and motivated. Niki plays Ling Ka Yan. She is a optimistic and independent young woman who owns a pet shop. She has never dated before because she has an inherited disease so she believes that each day that she’s alive, is a day she earns. It is a pity she will later experience much misfortune. She is a tragic character. When these two very different people come together, what we see is not only a deep and memorable love story, but will also make people see life and love in a different light.

Outside the Story

In the series, Niki and Kevin are a pair that have to endure many hardships. In reality even though they aren’t lovers, they are great partners. Additionally, they both admire each other. “Niki is a very optimistic person. Even when she encounters some unhappy events, she would quickly get over it. She’s also not a problematic girl, she’s very happy-go-lucky.” Kevin said that if he had to choose, he would pick the real Niki instead of the character she plays in the series because that character is too tragic. “I hope Niki never has to go through the the hardships that happened in the series. I should say that I hope no one encounters things like that.” Niki praises Kevin’s work ethics. “Kevin is a very straight-forward person. He doesn’t keep everything bottled up. He’s a very real person. He’s very serious in his work and loves it a lot. He uses his heart to act. Men who are serious in their work is a good thing.” Although in reality the two haven’t had any romantic sparks, what they definitely have is affinity. From “Hard Fate,” “Under the Canopy of Love” to “The Seventh Day,” this is their third time working together and their second time dueting together. When Kevin and Niki took photos for the cover, they worked really well together. There was not a thread of uneasiness. Even when they needed to pose intimately, they clicked right away. The Most Beautiful August 7th.
Why is “The Seventh Day” the most beautiful? Even main leads Kevin and Niki don’t really know why. This is a mysterious day.

Male lead Yau Chi Wing’s (Kevin Cheng) grandparents met on that day. After they dated, they also ended up getting married. Coincidentally, Chi Wing and Ka Yan also meet on that day. Niki said, “That day, Chi Wing and Ka Yan started their relationship. After Chi Wing’s birthday, they got together. August 7th becomes their anniversary date. Coupled with his grandparent’s romantic experience, that is a very special and lucky day.”

Aside from a special date that connects generations, this is also the day that the other male lead Hui Wai Yan, Don (Bosco Wong) was born. Kevin said, “Chi Wing and Don were both born on August 7th. The two haven’t met each other, but the strange thing is that they both share similar experiences. For example sitting at the same restaurant at the same time or having an argument with their girlfriends on the same day. Two men born on the same day, walk different paths, but encounter similar experiences.”

Every deep and memorable love, cannot lack a series of numbers to record each heartbeating moment, whether it’s happy or sad.

Last year, onscreen couple Kevin and Niki went to Japan and brought magazine readers a passionate White Valentines. This year “The Seventh Day,” will go on the air. Kevin and Niki begin by giving readers some riddles to guess. They each will share numbers that are important to them.

Kevin: “7 and 2, I won’t tell you why. Haha! Seven is because of “The Seventh Day.” Two is a special number for me. Many things happen on the second. Also, number 15 because it’s my birthday. Finally, lucky number 6.”

Niki: “8! Because August is mine and Kevin’s birth month. Next is number 30 because that’s my birthdate. Also, number 1, the first! Why? You guess. Hehe! Combine my numbers with Kevin’s and you can buy a lottery ticket. Get lucky and make some New Year’s money.”

The two of them are teasing us with the true meanings of the numbers. How are these numbers funny? That is kept a secret. However, the mystery of “The Seventh Day’s” “August 7th” has just been revealed. The most beautiful will also bring pain. We believe this will be the year’s most beautiful love story.

Kevin earned the title “Best Actor” for 2006’s UTCOL’s ambitious “Sum Long.” This year he returns with Yau Chi Wing. Kevin continues to be paired up with Niki in this series, but his image here gets a makeover.

“Sum Long has a good image. Even if he didn’t have a nice environment to grow up in, he still would seize every opportunity and is very faithful in love. In contrast, Chi Wing does not have a steady job and always gets into fights. He gives people the impression that he doesn’t really care. On the outside, he seems like he doesn’t care. However, it’s because he had some problems in his family which caused him to have this kind of attitude. So even though he cares about his girlfriend, he wouldn’t use words to express it, but he would use actions to prove it. As a result, no matter how much he loves the girl, no one would believe him. I’m certain no parent would want their daughter to date a man like Chi Wing.”

For Chi Wing, in his heart he cherishes relationships. Friendship is important to him. His friends always come first. For the sake of his ex-gf Yuen Jing (Selena Li), he keeps a secret from his current gf, Ka Yan. Ka Yan ends up going to Japan alone. The three of them end up playing a game of tag.

“Because Yuen Jing has a disease, she stays in Japan for treatment. She doesn’t let her family know. Chi Wing promises her that he will keep it a secret and takes her to Japan. As a result, there are a lot of rumors in Hong Kong. He is even accused of hurting her and taking her money. Later, Chi Wing loses contact with Yuen Jing so he goes to find her. He is only doing this as a friend. The two of them no longer have love between them. At the time, Chi Wing and Ka Yan are dating. She knows that her boyfriend went to look for his ex-gf, but she doesn’t know the truth behind it. As a result, some misunderstandings occur causing their relationship to turn for the worse. Fortunately, the misunderstanding clears up… unfortunately, something happens to Ka Yan. Until the very end, it is filled with twists and turns.

Onscreen, Niki is a happy girl. This is the fourth time that viewers will see her. This time, Ka Yan will give viewers a fresh new feeling. This will be a test of acting ability.

“I didn’t intentionally try to change from UTCOL’s Ko Ya Sze. The story is different this time around. This time she’s a lot tougher. She’s not as naive. Ka Yan experiences many things. She has an inherited disease and is the only daughter, but she remains optimistic and faces the world with strength. She doesn’t get all worried over little things. But there are times when she is vulnerable, but she won’t whine. She isn’t reliant on her boyfriend. She’s independent, but at the same time sweet. So before filming, I did some homework. I thought about how I should portray this role. I can’t be as weak as the past. I am a lot more mature and confident. In the series, Ka Yan does cry often. In reality, even strong people have moments when they show their weak side.

Besides having a challenging role, “Seventh” has brought Niki a lot of freshness. Aside from going to Japan to film a series for the first time, having many touching romantic scenes, and working with “TV King” Kevin again, Niki also met a new friend.

My other male co-star is a dog. We have a lot of kiss scenes. At the beginning, the producer asked me if I mind kissing a dog that I was unfamiliar with. Initially I was a little taken back, but later after meeting Jack, I felt it wasn’t a big deal. He’s very smart, clean, and very sweet. I spent a lot of time to develop a close bond with him to that viewers will get the feeling that he’s been my pet for years. There are scenes that don’t require me to kiss the dog, but I ended up doing it anyway. He kissed me back and it felt pretty okay. It wasn’t awkward at all. I had some chemistry with Jack making this series more close to life and Ka Yan’s character stand out more. The dog adds a bit more happiness in the scenes.

Kevin: “Niki has ‘Weight’ “

From “Hard Fate” to “The Seventh Day,” this is the third time Kevin has worked with Niki. Kevin could only sing praises for her. “The first time was when we first got to know each other. The most important thing was the freshness. It turns out that her acting style is very cute, very different from other tv artists. It’s a very refreshing feeling. In the second collab, we begin to have a tacit understanding. This time even more so! We understand each other’s acting styles and this time the storyline is a lot more passionate. Out of the 3 series, this one is the most emotional. Fortunately we have a lot of tacit understanding because these types of scenes are best when acted out the first time. A retake would go overboard. Luckily, there were many scenes that we only had to do in one take. The results were very satisfying.”

Besides increasing their tacit understanding, Kevin has also seen Niki grow up. “She matured, earlier “Hard Fate” reaired. At the time she was like a girl. The way she acted was very relaxed and funny. Even when crying, it felt like she was a girl. Now she has a very womanly side to her and has added “weight,” in her appearance. She stands out more. This series is a very deep and memorable love story. It goes from very sweet to very passionate and will even be very sad. For love scenes, one needs a very good partner. Because this is the third time we’ve worked together, I believe this is our best performance yet. With a good script, pretty scenery and people, I am confident that everyone will like it.”

Niki: “Kevin has a lot to say”

Kevin was Niki’s first partner when she first set foot in filming tv series. She has picked up a lot from filming with this ”TV King”. “In these few years, we both have matured together. My filming technique has changed through experience. I’ve learned how to go over the script with my co-stars. Also, spending time with Kevin is like spending time with family. There’s no avoidance. Even when something we say can make the other unhappy, we will still say it. When we’re in a bad mood we don’t hide it. We don’t try to act as if nothing is wrong. Don’t think that Kevin doesn’t like to talk. He actually has a lot of things to say. He’s shy? Definitely not! He’s not “cool.” He only chooses when he wants to talk. He’s pretty subjective, but is that a problem? It’s just his personality. Spending time together is very comfortable.”

Niki has filmed 4 tv series and 3 of them are with Kevin. She is not afraid of getting bored and instead believes it increases their tacit understanding. ” ‘Hard Fate,’ was more plain, ‘UTCOL,’ is a touching romance, and ‘TSD’ is even more passionate. There are a lot of scenes that display a great mix of inner feelings. If not familiar with the person then it would be very hard to grasp. This time, we understand really well how the other person wants to do it. I’m not afraid that the audience will feel bored. We can’t even be compared to Andy Lau and Idy Chan. Because I don’t film tv series often and in those 4 times, 3 times it’s with Kevin so everyone feels like that’s a lot. If we work together again next time, why don’t we try being grandfathers and grandmothers!? Haha, it would be quite refreshing and funny.”

Kevin Cheng & Niki Chow Promote "The Seventh Day"

Kevin Cheng Ka Wing, Niki Chow Lai Kei, Suki Tsui Suk Man, and Natalie Tong appeared at a promotional event for TVB's new series, "The Seventh Day" 《最美麗的第七天》. Due to illness, Bosco Wong Chung Chak did not attend the event.

The artists played numerous games with the audience. Rumored couple, Kevin and Niki, hugged each other intimately during the photograph session.

Returning from a concert performance in North America, Niki was happy about the good ratings in "The Seventh Day's" first week of broadcast. Although she recorded the series, Niki did not have time to watch it yet. Niki was prepared to treat everyone to a meal of abalone, shark fin soup, and sea cucumber.

Kevin noted that in the past week, Lydia Shum passed away and Edison Chen returned to Hong Kong. Kevin hoped that these events will not depress the audience and prevent them from watching the series.

Did Kevin know that Niki's dog also passed away? Kevin said yes and realized that Niki must be quite unhappy. When Kevin's pet died in the past, he cried in grief as well. He hoped that Niki was not too grievous at this time.
