![]() TVB's new serial "Yummy Yummy" has started filming, and producer Wong Sam Wai was working with the cast in Zhu Hai earlier, including Tavia Yeung, Raymond Lam, Kevin Cheng, Kenix Kwok [?? possible error by the reporter, maybe he means Charmaine Sheh], Ng Ka Lok and the Singaporean actor Yang Zhi-Long. Later, Tavia shot a rowing scene with Kevin, Raymond and Zhi-Long. Although Kevin and Raymond have known each other for a long time, this is their first time working together. They seem really close on the set, and there have been speculations that it's a clever move to fend off possible rumors with the female leads. Kevin says, "I don't worry about being romantically linked to Charmaine Sheh! We're not possible, as we don't share that special 'feel'. I know rumors may draw more attention, but I hope they won't be too exaggerated! Raymond says this new production is not as tiring as the ancient/kung fu stuff he's done in the past, although some scenes are shot in not-so-flattering places (for example, the river Tavia mentioned). As for the possible rumors, Raymond says, "I knew Tavia a long time ago, and we've collaborated for quite a few times. I also worked with Charmaine in "Tossing Rain, Turning Cloud", and nothing happened. Therefore, there shouldn't be any rumors. I'm not worried at all." As for Kevin, who is a favourite for the "Most Improved Male Artiste" award, he indicates that he thinks Ron Ng will win and he voted for Sheren Tang and Roger Kwok to win.
http://orientaldaily.com.hk/ent/ent_a08cnt.html http://the-sun.com.hk/channels/ent/2004110...31940_0003.html Credits to Em - http://www.tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ ![]() [The Sun & Oriental Daily 07/11/04] ***WARNING: SPOILERS FOR "SPLIT SECOND"*** TVB series "Split Second" has stirred up much criticism since it has been aired. Reader Ms Lo complains that the storyline is illogical and the suggestion that the Chief of Police played by Ko Hung received bribes is detrimental to the image of the police force. Miss Lo goes on to point out that as the ICAC was established in 1974, there was a pardon issued for all the police officers at the time who received bribes, so if Ko Hung's character received bribes in 1973, then there is no reason for this to be held against him. As for a Criminal Intelligence Bureau Senior Inspector (played by Kevin Cheng) to interview and investigate a Chief of Police, then this is the wrong procedure. The show's producer Lo Wing Yin responds saying: "Ms Lo seems to know the storyline so well, so she must be a super fan of the show. However she needs to be more patient and watch the rest of the show to find out that Ko Hung has been set up and it will not affect the image of the police force. When we filmed the show, we did all our research beforehand and if there are any more doubts, we will investigate this further and respond to the viewers comments." http://the-sun.com.hk/channels/ent/2004110...32013_0003.html http://orientaldaily.com.hk/ent/ent_a13cnt.html Credits to Em - http://www.tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ |

[Ta Kung Pao, Oriental Daily & The Sun 08/11/04]
***WARNING: SLIGHT SPOILER FOR "SPLIT SECOND" *** Stars from "Split Second" Patrick Tam, Kevin Cheng, Yoyo Mung, Mandy Cho and Marco Ngai took part in a promotional event for a 3G mobile network yesterday and attracted a big crowd. Since the show began airing, the ratings have been rather mediocre and there were reports yesterday that viewers were complaining about the logic of the storyline and how they were not properly researched. Responding to this, Kevin says: "The viewers now are really sharp, but for them to watch the show in so much detail it makes me happy. I did not know when the ICAC was established, so maybe we did overlook this and I am thankful to the viewer for pointing this out. (Are you worried about the series affecting the image of the police?) Everyone must understand that television is just a form of entertainment and the actors will always do their best to make it seem realistic, but I hope that the differences between fiction and reality can be identified and that this viewer will not take it all so seriously. Our aim is not to tarnish the reputation of the police and to be honest, my ambition when I was younger was to become a police officer." http://tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ |

![]() [Ta Kung Pao & The Sun 17/11/04] Charmaine Sheh, Raymond Lam, Tavia Yeung and Kevin Cheng took part in the blessing ceremony for new series "Yummy Yummy" yesterday and after earlier reports of her lunching with Lok Yik Ling and Catherine Tsang, Charmaine was asked whether she is now confident about winning the anniversary award. She laughs: "Is it that easy? I did not arrange to meet them, they asked me to eat with them and we do meet up for lunch usually, but with the anniversary approaching, everyone is rather sensitive." She admits that she is confident of winning an award, but the two things cannot be linked together in this way. She also refused to reveal what the conversation was about, just mentioning that Catherine told her to keep working hard and the company will give her plenty of opportunities. Charmaine says that if she wins the award, then she will think about meeting someone for marriage, because her grandma who is in her nineties has seen her working so hard and has hurried her to get married and give up working. When asked whether her target partner will be the winner of the male lead award, she laughs that she has not thought about this matter, but he will be her perfect male lead. Charmaine has chosen her outfit and jewellery for the anniversary show and as she has a few sets to choose from, she has not worked out the value, as the most important thing is that it suits her image, but she is interested in seeing Gigi Lai's $30 million worth of jewels. On the other hand, Gigi, Bowie Lam and Moses Chan were rehearsing for their 'clog dance' for the anniversary celebration and when asked about Charmaine's lunch meeting, Gigi laughs that everyone has lunch meetings with the bosses. Bowie also laughs that after the success of "War", all the cast members have had lunch meetings with the bosses and Moses Chan says that he is often on the phone to the bosses. As for what they talk about over dinner, Gigi says it is just an ordinary meal, because the company likes to meet with its staff once a month. Although Yoyo Mung has worked with TVB for a number of years, this is her first appearance at an anniversary celebration. She says: "Dancing with Adam, even with a dance background myself is quite nerve-wracking. Also, I have to prepare an evening gown, so the feeling is like getting married, having to rush around to prepare. I have chosen my outfit now and I have sponsors for my jewellery, but I don't know the value of it. I have also bought some shoes to go with the dress." She says that she does not care for the competition between the ladies as long as her own outfit matches her. Talking of "Split Second" only reaching ratings of 26 points in the final week, Yoyo mentions that is it better than one of her other series "The Green Hope" that only reached 25 points. She says that the good reviews and fresh storylines are more important. Kevin says that he is a little disappointed because after several months of hard work, then naturally they had hoped for better results. Maybe this genre is too fresh, so he had suspected that it would not be too suitable for all of the audience, but they wanted to have a breakthrough, so there was a conflict of interests. He says: "Whenever something new comes along, then it is a risk and there will be a day when it will succeed. 'War and Beauty' for instance was another new experiment, but it did well." He thinks that the company should not stop trying new things because of ratings, otherwise they will not be able to keep all the viewers and in the long run, fresh is what they want. Adam Cheng and the eight beauties will be doing a 'Horn Dance' and were rehearsing yesterday. Some of the female artistes were absent, but those taking part included Anne Heung, Tavia, Leila Tong and Yoyo. During rehearsals, Adam accidentally pulled apart Tavia's collar and nearly went where he shouldn't have. A rather embarrassed Adam was asked if he had a reputation and he replied: "I have made mistakes, but there have been no complaints! (Who was it?) I was in a muddle so I made a lot of mistakes to start with, but I do it sincerely, thanks to the arrangement of the company." Adam says openly that this performance will not only overcome difficulties with the costumes, the dance moves have left him with headache and sore knees. However, he is determined to pull off the performance as he says jokingly: "TVB spirit - no-one dies for nothing!" http://www.takungpao.com/news/2004-11-17/UL-330616.htm http://www.takungpao.com/news/2004-11-17/UL-330615.htm http://the-sun.com.hk/channels/ent/2004111...32947_0003.html Credits to Em - http://www.tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ |

![]() [Sing Pao 23/11/04] On the set of "Yummy Yummy" yesterday, were Kevin Cheng, Kiki Sheung, Carlo Ng and Ben Yeo and Carlo was dressed in a ninja costume. In the show he plays the judge and will play many different characters as he chooses the contestants for the competition. Kevin plays a chicken seller in the first scene and maybe he was too nervous, but he lost his phone the previous day. The scene was filmed in a market and attracted a crowd of locals to watch, crreating quite an atmosphere. Playing the chicken seller for the first time, Kevin says that it is quite difficult because the scene just showed him catching and tying up the chicken. He said: "Earlier, the company had arranged for me to get some experience at the Kowloon City Market and learn from a chicken stand big sister. We became good friends and I even took her for dinner. I thought that I could show off my skills today, but the tasks I have been given are very simple, so I hope that I will be okay. I have tried to catch free range chickens in China, now that is very difficult. (How was the shoot?) Originally I was a little upset because I only finished work last night at 4am and when I got home, I found that I had lost my phone. When I called back to the company to see if it had been found, I did not get a response and I thought it was gone forever. I am lazy and stored all my phone numbers in the phone, so losing the phone was a small matter, losing all my numbers was a bigger problem. As a result I was a little unhappy, but this morning, the lady in the dressing room called me saying that she had found my phone. I was so happy that I jumped up and my whole body just relaxed, so I have treated everyone today as well as thanking that lady of course!" http://www.singpao.com/20041123/gossip/640105.html Credits to Em - http://tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ |

![]() [Oriental Daily 04/12/04] Kevin Cheng, Raymond Lam and Singaporean artiste Ben Yeo have become good friends since filming for "Yummy Yummy" and yesterday they were filming together in North Point in a scene where they were selling food on a hawker stall and then running away from the officials. During filming, they attracted quite a crowd asking them for autographs and photos and all requests were fulfilled. Afterwards, Raymond indicated that his native origin is Fujian (Hokkien), so he feels very at home in North Point. He says: "My primary education was in the North Point area and I was often hanging around in the area. As there are a lot of Fujianese people living in the area, then it feels especially homely. Earlier, a granny grabbed me and said she wanted to take me home, it was quite funny!" Kevin is currently spending three or four days a week in the area filming for the show and he is getting to know the locals now. He says: "My character has a chicken stall in the area, so I have to come and film down here all the time and I see the locals all the time. I know the boss of the fishmonger next door very well now and he often makes seafood congee and invites me over to eat it." http://www.tvbspacenews.blogspot.com |

![]() ![]() [Ta Kung Pao & Oriental Daily 21/12/04] Charmaine Sheh and Kevin Cheng were filming on location in Lei King Wan yesterday for new series "Yummy Yummy" in a scene where they were riding together on a bicycle in a rather romantic scene showing their characters developing feelings for one another. Afterwards, Charmaine was asked whether she felt it was very romantic and she smiles: "I guess so! Actually I have tried this in real life about ten years ago when I went cycling with my boyfriend at the time, but we had a bike each then. Now I can only re-live the feeling through filming." Charmaine says that modern people are too commercialised now whilst dating and like to go karaoke, watch movies and shopping. She prefers the great outdoors instead. When she was dating, what other romantic things did she get up to? She says: "I remember one guy, who would make a handmade card for me each time he asked me on a date and made my name out of a gold coloured paperclip. We arranged to go to the Peak for dinner once and he gave me a bag of jigsaw pieces. When we put it together it was a giant heart shape. After this, we started dating properly, but I had to go and study in America then and we did not continue after that. (Do you still keep in touch?) No, but I know he is married now and has a daughter." Kevin says that he has never taken a girl on a bike before, saying: "The last time was during filming when I was carrying Nancy Sit! (Is it a little lighter load this time?) A little!" http://www.takungpao.com/news/2004-12-21/UL-344390.htm http://orientaldaily.com.hk/ent/ent_a18cnt.html Credits to Em - http://tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ |

![]() The title of "worst ratings of TVB productions aired in prime time 2004" goes to "The Vigilante In the Mask", starring Deric Wan. It scored only 26 points on average, which means about 1.71 viewers tuned in. The second worst is "Dream of Colours", starring Myolie Wu and Rain Li. Its average number was 26.8 points. "Split Second", the co-production with Thailand, did not live up to the expectations. Another grand production "Blade Heart" also failed miserably, although it starred veteran actors such as Liza Wang and Adam Cheng. "Split" and "Blade" share the third worst title, as both averaged 27 points. credit to Yan at http://tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ |

![]() Tavia Yeung, Raymond Lam and Kevin Cheng flew to Singapore yesterday morning to film "Yummy Yummy" on location. About 20 to 30 fans saw them off at the airport. Charmaine Sheh will join the cast in Singapore today. Tavia has brought her mom's home-made soup and her fans' snacks with her for the trip. Asked if she has donated to the tsunami relief cause, she replies, "Not yet! I feel so bad about my procrastination. I'm not a decent human being! Thought about donating every day, but never actually got around to it. I will donate asap, though!" Raymond will be filming in Singapore for four weeks. There will be a swimming scene, and he already has his speedo ready. Raymond also discloses that the director will add a running scene. As the story goes, he throws up while running a marathon. (Maybe the script writer is throwing a reference to his miserable running effort last summer?) Asked about the tsunami disaster, Raymond says, "It's such a wrenching pain to see the death toll rise every single day. I've already asked my friends to donate on my behalf. We should all do what we can to help." http://hk.tv.yahoo.com/news/ent/00501020120184t0.html Credits to Em - http://tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ |

![]() [Ta Kung Pao 13/01/05] The cast of TVB's new series "Yummy Yummy - Food for Life" including Charmaine Sheh, Kevin Cheng, Tavia Yeung, Raymond Lam and Carlo Ng are currently filming on location in Singapore. As this is the first joint production between TVB and Singapore's Mediacorp Studios, there is a heavy focus on this series and a special press conference was held to mark this. After the Hong Kong cast had joined with the Singaporean cast earlier to film in Zhuhai, they had already become great friends and for Charmaine, Kevin, Tavia and Raymond, they have been warmly received by their local hosts and are working very well together with them. ![]() [Oriental Daily 13/01/05] Charmaine Sheh, Tavia Yeung, Raymond Lam and Kevin Cheng are currently filming in Singapore for the joint production "Yummy Yummy" and they appeared with the other cast members at a press event earlier. Although the stars hail from different countries, they still get along very well and what makes Charmaine the most excited is that the Singaporean artistes are very attentive of the Hong Kong actors' performances, so she is sure that there will be a good exchange of experiences. Tavia indicates that the local hosts have been very hospitable and taken them to visit all the sights and sample all the local foods, so she is feeling extremely relaxed and leisurely as she combines work with pleasure. She says: "Although this is the first time I have worked with Singaporean actors, we are still having a great time and they say that they will take us to eat some good stuff. That's fantastic!" http://www.takungpao.com/news/2005-1-13/UL-352835.htm http://orientaldaily.com.hk/ent/ent_a65cnt.html Credits to Em - http://tvbspacenews.blogspot.com/ |

Kevin is currently filming a new serie relating to the salon (he's a barber like his father) n will have a relationship with Nnadia. How cool is that?
Btw: this guy on my campus looks like a younger version of Kevin...gorsh both are so appealing. blush |
