I dont think so. Some TVB actors do have a bit of chemistry. Either in real life they like each other or their characters do, TVB actors seem to be getting better at these sorts of things. It really draws the viewer in better when you actually think there maybe something going on.

You're partly right. Couples with no chemistry or don't look like a couple are Damien and Flora in Hard Fate. This was probably the worse couple I had ever seen... Couples who look good together and have great chemistry are Raymond and Tavia. They look great together and one of the couples with the best chemistry!

I think that TVB actors and actresses have tonnes of chemistry. some might not but most do...you know how you get that funny fuzzy feeling when there's lots of chemistry in a series, well it happens a lot to me.

I think most TVB couples have chemistry, but some of them have more and other less. This chemistry is a result of the script writer and the actors.
So less chemistry can be the fault of the actor, but is also the fault of the writer. |

I would say that familiarity with each other would put the couples at ease and comfortable and that would help create a better chemistry between them. looks also play a part, but for damian and flora in hard fate, it is not their fault, the storyline requires damian to be much older than flora, so it does look like a mismatch. but that's the requirement of the story.

Generally i would say most pairings have a certain amount of chemistry but there have been instances where the pairings look weird such as Adam/Tavia,Gallen?kingdom just to name a few.

yes i agree that some pairings sucks (like adam and tavia) but most of them are ok....
i don't think it's mostly the actor's fault....i think it's the ppl who picked the actor to act the charcters' fault....they should have picked the right ppl that looks good together..... |

well... tvb is ok with the chemistry... sometimes it's just AWFUL... i won't point out which couples, but some are also really good... such as raymond/michelle, raymond/bernice (they weren't a couple, but since they were great friends in SL, i'm assuming they are) steven/charmaine, ron/tavia etc...

Sometimes, I really think the casting is blind. I think the people I've seen with the worst chemistry were Flora and Damien in Hard Fate. Hopeless. And in Angels of Mission 3D too. I've heard Raymond's doing a series with charmaine and Sonija soon as well! Ew! Gosh, what happen to good old chemistry like Louis and Jessica!

i think that the older generation couples have like no chemistry. but i think the young actors have pretty good chemistry with each other....maybe that's why everytime they act in a series together, the young actors are always linked to be having affairs and stuff like that...

They have chemistry in their own ways... think of the asians now. Most are still relatively not the "intense" type like "oh I must touch you and kiss you to show I'm in love with you". I think it's the same with TVB actresses/actors. They just like to deliver the cheesy dialogues and give each other a hug to signify that their relationship has reached another level. I think if they were given more room to express this "chemistry" that they're missing, most viewers would be uncomfortable (aka Tava & Ron's kiss in TA). That was the conventional american kiss and looked how much controversy it caused.

Some pairs do have chemistry, but some pairs just don't make sense. Besides that, I guess the main reason why we think there is no chemistry is that their relationship doesn't usually involve very intense physical contact. Maybe holding hands will already signify that they are a couple. You rarely see kissing or make out scenes on tvb series. I think in that sense it makes the relationship less believable

I guess one reason is that the imtimade scenes in TVB are not all that intimate afterall, compare to some in the west. And also, that fact that some actors are continuously filming for several series doesn't really connect any sort of bonds between couples. Even if they are worked together in the past...not many seems to be that connected...

some actors have great chemistry with eacher other. It really depends on which actors you pari together. Some actors just don't work, but some have amazing chemistry.
Louis and Jessica had great chemistry. |

QUOTE i think that the older generation couples have like no chemistry. but i think the young actors have pretty good chemistry with each other....maybe that's why everytime they act in a series together, the young actors are always linked to be having affairs and stuff like that... yeah, agree. it probably depends on the familarity of the actors and actresses in each show. Raymonds can create alot of chemistry with female leads but in 'twin of brothers' I completely did not see any chemistry between him and Li qian, probably it's because of the language barrier? But in the same show I pratically saw fireworks between him and Tavia. I think that new comers tend to have better chemistry, but I think that Gallen Lo and Jessica Hsuan have great chemistry but Joe Ma and Bobby Ou Yeung can't create chemistry outta anybody |
