A new China, Taiwan and Korea series cooperation "The Magicians" begins shooting in Beijing, female star Lin Hsinju, after her cooperation w/ Korean actor Han Jae Suk, this time around will be pair up w/ Kangta, Alec Su plays the 3rd wheel in their relationship. In "The Magicians," Lin Hsinju plays a girl who's gentle on the outside but strong on the inside [sound familiar? Hehe], inherits a magic theater from her father, she & Kangta are childhood lovers. But too bad later on Kangta dumps her for fame and fortune. Another magician from the theater Alec Su seizes the chance to capture her heart, three of them gets involve in a love triangle.
The first time coming into contacts w/ Kangta, Lin Hsinju feels somewhat unfamiliar w/ him. She said she only knows that he is a singer. The two of first met in the Beijing hotel elevator. At that time both did not wear make-up, Kangta also had on these huge glasses. If it wasn't for the fact that he was speaking in Korean, she would not have recognize him.
Lin Hsinju also jokingly said "When I saw him I got startled. His skin is so white! Under comparison, is it b/c of my skin making it look too healthy."
Although their first meeting was somewhat unfamiliar w/ each other, the next when the director was doing introductions, Lin Hsinju was impressed w/ Kangta's courteous nature b/c he used Chinese to say "Ni hao" [or How do you do?], making Lin Hsinju feel pleasantly surprised.
In order to make it look real, the production team especially hired a professional magician to teach the three of them magic. Although the tricks are numerous and diverse, Lin Hsinju actually is very happy. She expressed "When I found out I had to learn magic tricks, a picture appeared in my mind. That is in the Japanese drama "Love Generation," Matsu Takako learned magic to impress Takuya Kimura, really cute."

Yesterday afternoon, Alec Su, Kangta, & Lin Hsinju's new series "The Magicians" held a press conference in Beijing. Alec Su, Kangta, Lin Hsinju all learned some magic for this series. They performed a magic rope trick, magic card trick, & magic ring trick.
After the press conference began, Alec Su took out a long, red rope, cut it w/ a pair of scissors, then shake the rope several times in his hand, the rope turn back into its original uncut state. Dressed like a lady, Lin Hsinju had several big metal rings, she place all the rings into a large ring, then she turn the rings into a long metal link. Kangta invited an audience member to come onstage, to let the audience to be a testimonial to his card trick.
Alec Su told reporters, "In order to do a good job w/ our roles, me, Hsinju & Kangta, joined the production team two weeks earlier. Not to do other things, just to learn magic from a true magician. The simple live magic tricks we could all already do."
When Kangta was accepting reporters' interviews he made it clear, "I really want to open up a mainland market through this series. This series w/ magic as the theme is very interesting." Of course, Kangta also evaluated his two co-stars, "I feel that Alec Su's eyes could really set off electricity, Lin Hsinju is the type of actor one could really easily develope chemistry with." Lastly, Kangta expressed that he & Alec Su will sing the main theme song "Yi Tian" [One Day], this song will be included in his new CD to be released year end.

In the series Lin Hsinju has a "love triangle" w/ two hunks. Kangta is her older classmate & Alec Su is her younger classmate. "I play a female magician who has inherited her father's theater. Originally was childhood sweethearts w/ Kangta, but he abandons me for the fame and fortune. Alec plays another magician & falls in love with me, should say this is love triangle story." Lin Hsinju told reporter, a week before the series started filming she joined the crew & trained really hard on magic. "The level of difficulty of the tricks that I do isn't very difficult, but learning them takes a lot of energy. Therfore the production team hired a teacher to teach me. Every day I had to practice w/ the cards, metal rings, hats, flowers, handkerchiefs, etc. I had to learn how to make a flower appear, or make a card disappear, etc. It was really hard. Luckily learning how to do magic is something new, therefore I don't feel that it's boring." Lin Hsinju told the reporter, her & Alec Su's costumes a a bit rustic/lame. In addition Alec Su's character comes from a farming village, therefore she gave him a nickname - - - Xiaotangshan farmer. Alec Su wasn't mad, provoking laughter from the entire audience w/ this saying: "This is a series in which Hsinju & I have a change in our image. We are taking the farmer route, Hsinju's clothes aren't much better, all of them are dresses w/ small flower prints, so lame looking. She also gave herself a nickname - - - Xiaotangshan flower."
