All About Eve
cast: Chae Lim, Jang Dong Gun, Han Jae Suk, Kim So Yun, Kim Jung Eun

This drama is about two girls, Jin Sun Mi (Chae Lim) and Hu Young Mi (Kim So Yun). Sun Mi had a nice childhood and grew up with lots of love from her father. Young Mi's mother left her when she was young and her father was a drunk who recently died. She had a hard childhood but never gave up and made it into college. Sun Mi's father helps Young Mi and brings her to Seoul. Both of them aspire to be news anchors and they go to the same school.

Sun Mi loves Woo Jin (Han Jae Suk), who is like an oppa to her ever since she was little but Woo Jin only thinks of her as a younger sister. Young Mi is really evil but pretends to be nice and helpful when people are around. She is risky and will do anything to get what she wants. She starts liking Woo Jin too and Woo Jin starts taking interest in her.

Sun Mi feels like she's losing Woo Jin to Young Mi and is deeply hurt. Then when Sun Mi goes to London, she meets Hyung Chul (Jang Dong Gun). Hyung Chul also is deeply hurt by the pain his father caused him by leaving his poor mother, who recently died, and marrying another woman and having another child.They have a nice time together and comfort each other but Sun Mi still loves Woo Jin, but Hyung Chul falls in love with Sun Mi.

Sun Mi and Young Mi's rivalry grows bigger and bigger, not only with Woo Jin, but their success in becoming a news anchor. There's only space for one of them at the top. Who will win? Who will fall back?

I think it is one of the most interesting Korean Dramas. At least they do not have people that have Leukemia again.. ahah.. It is mainly about jealousy, work and love. Good casts too!

I think that All about Eve is the series i really really like. because every korean series i've watch have a sad ending. + Plus the actors are really handsome and beautiful. Chae Lim is so cute, when i see her smile i want to smile with her.

this was the first korean series i watched and i am now hooked. Love the part where Jang Dong Gun sings to Chae Rim, not only can he act but he sings pretty well too.

This is my favorite Korean drama. Love JDG since then. He made such a good couple with Chae Rim. Great chemistry

I totally loved this series. Hyung Chul is the guy every girl is looking for. He was always there for Jin Sun Mi whenever she needed him or even when she didn't need him. The romance was really sweet between them. It's a must watch series if you love romance!

I really love this serie, it's my favorite korean drama, Jang Dong Gun and Chae Rim are very good in this drama, it's a very romantic and touching drama , highly recommended =)

I liked this series. It has a good story and actors. Not too happy about the ending. Was hoping for a bad end for the evil girl. Thought she should have paid more for her actions.

"All About Eve" was the first Korean series that I watched. It remained my favourite Korean series. This series was the last tv series made by Jang Dong Gun who since then only made movies. If only Chae Rim and JDG can get together to make another series. This series was made in 2000 and I definatelty recommend this to everyone.

This show left me speechless at the ending...didn't expect Kim So Yun to lose her memory..I cried the most when I found that out!!! But I salute her acting skills..she really managed to make me hate her to pieces!! And of cos not forgetting to mention that I fell in love with JDG's charming role haha..nice refreshing plot about newcasters...

this is one of the best korean series i have ever seen. and also one of the best series that chae rim and jang dong gun have been on. i didn't really care too much for han jae suk in here because i so hate his character .

The scriptwriters were sort of writing HJS's character like the kind of character who is going to die before the end of the story.I hoped that You zhen would wake up faster but he didn't.Chae rim did a great job playing the cheerful girl.Most cheerful girls make me go ugh cos the actresses usually overdo it.

This was one of my favorite korean series. Love to see scheming parts set up by Young Mi. The woman was evil but very interesting story. I luved Jang Dong Gun's character.

This was the drama that made me fell in love with both Jang Dong Gun and Chae Rim. Jang Dong Gun's character in this drama is nothing short of perfect! He was rich, handsome, educated, caring, loyal in love..........Definitely Prince Charming. Chae Rim was super cute in this show. Don't think anybody can hate her character here.

But the one that gave the best performance in this show I think, is Kim So Yeon. She played the bad girl role so well that if she was standing in front of me then, I think I would have strangled her! Apparently, she was not even 20 years old when she made this series. Considering her lack of experience in acting, she really did a very good job here.

The pace of the show was also good - not much draggy parts. There was also quite a bit of light-hearted moments mainly by the supporting characters. This show is definitely a keeper and will remain one of my fav Korean dramas of all times.

Kim So Yun is the one that keeps me on watching the series. She is evil and pitiful at the same time. I can't blame all the action that she did to Jin Sun Mi, although is not fair to Jin Sun Mi, but Kim So Yun has a sad childhood life. Her dad beats her up all the time, so she has to quit school because of no money. Her boyfriend is a ganster too. You can't blame her that she is jealous of Jin Sun Mi because she has good parents, good school, and a good boyfriend. She does not wants to be poor and pitiful like her parents; she wants to have a good life like everyone wants to be. So I don't hate her for what she has done. In the ending, she realizes what she has done is bad. That is a good news, because not every bad people admit their mistakes in the end. I am happy to know that her suicidal is not accomplish.

This was my first korean drama and i really loved it. the characters were great and the series went pretty fast. i really loved kim so yeon's character.

I so agree with ya all! Great plot, pretty actresses, HOT actors! wat more can u ask 4 in a serie? This is lik mi 2nd Korean Series! I didn't plan on watching this one @ all. Mi dad bought "Model" where JDG is one of the main characters in. I was scanning through the channels and saw the themesong, I was lik, "Isn't that the actor frm "model"? Me and mi sis and my parents just sat down and watched lik 3 eps in a row. I loved the story! I couldn't leave the TV! LOL Chae Rim and JDG hav great chem. 2gether.

all about eve was my very first korean series and that was when i got into korean... i didn't know the actors and actresses but i was only 12 bak then.. i watched it again and i want to get the series all to myself

i just recently finished watching this series for the first time! it was indeed very addicting. i liked the ending for the evil girl though (sorry, don't know her name). i think she was better off that way. the series was overall pretty refreshing with the topic being centered around the tv station and the controversies and backstabbing that goes on behind the camera.

i would totally recommend this series over "endless love" (or "autumn love" whichever name you call it) b/c the ending didn't drag as much (though it did drag a little).

I thought the summary is already told in the beggining of the forum? It's about Tv news broadcast reporter and their life. How they rise from a student to a successful news reporter. The office politics, and their replationship with other member of the Tv station. Not forgetting to mention the sweet realtionship between sun mei and xiang zhe.

one of my favourite TV series. Although it's a very old show, it still remains on the top of my list after so many years. Really like this show.....i watch it 3 times already. twice on TV by different channel and another one time on VCD and still wants to watch it again. hahaha.....but not now. kind of struggling with exam at the moment.......

i notice that kim jun eun was there, she is the newscaster, i did not recognize her until later. that was her before the plastic surgery, she is prettier in lovers in paris.

A big thorn in Young-mi's life since she moved to Seoul is her old boyfriend, Bae In-su. He follows her to Seoul and opens a hostess bar. He blackmails her into working at his bar like she did in the country. He wants her back in his life so he is always watching her, which gives her nightmares because he could destroy her life as a TV announcer. Young-mi gives the police information to put him in jail. When he comes out of jail, he is out to get her. She manages to set a trap for him again but he escapes the police.

After several breakups, Sun-mi and Hyung-chul finally get together again. Young- mi is still after Hyung-chul even though she went back to Woo-jin because he had the tape of her tampering with Ju-hee's brakes. Woo-jin erases the tape and gives Young-mi a plane ticket, telling her that they can go away and start a new life together. She tears up the ticket in his face.

Young-mi goes on an on-location shoot. Woo-jin is there as a photographer. Bae In-su calls the station to get the location of the shoot and goes there with a knife. When Young-mi sees In-su coming towards her, she backs up into the path of an oncoming truck. Woo-jin sees this and pushes her out of the way. He instead is hit by the truck and dies. Young-mi acts like it doesn't bother her and to everyone's surprise she doesn't go to Woo-jin's funeral/burial. Inside she is really hurting and she avenges his death by having In-su arrested for involuntary manslaughter.

Ju-hee who was leaving her position as news anchor to be the station's British correspondent changes her mind to get married. She recommends Sun-mi to go in her place. Although it is a great opportunity for Sun-mi, she doesn't want to leave Hyung-chul. He on the other hand wants to marry Sun-mi but doesn't want to hold her back if she really wants to go to London. They are both not truthful about their real feelings.

One night Young-mi pops in the video that Woo-jin made for her. She is surprised and breaks down when she sees the video. Woo-jin put in video the good times that they shared and he asks her to marry him because he loves her despite all her wrongdoings. He forgives her so she should forgive herself. Young-mi goes to visit Woo-jin's mother to make amends and then goes to see Sun-mi to make amends. They become friends again. At work Hyung-chul finds a letter of resignation from Young-mi. In it she confesses to all the evil things she did to people to get her way.

Young-mi goes to visit Woo-jin's grave and asks him for forgiveness for taking so long and then goes to a lake and walks into the water. Everyone looks for her but she just disappeared. One day while Sun-mi is doing a broadcast, there is a shoot about a nonprofit organization and the volunteers helping the nuns. There was Young-mi helping the children. Sun-mi and Hyung-chul go to the abbey to find her. Young-mi does not recognize them. The nun there says that student helpers found her in the lake and pulled her out. All Young-mi can remember is up to the time she was 6 years old. The reason for this is that her mother left home when she was 6. She only remembers the good times in her childhood up to 6 years old and everything else is blocked out. Young-mi is happy where she is and doesn't want to leave the abbey.

On the eve that Sun-mi is to leave for London, Hyung-chul finally tells her not to go and to marry him. She is happy because that was what she really wanted. They embrace and kiss in the middle of the street in traffic.

i didnt want to watch this series in the first place cos i heard that the storyline is about the gal trying to take away whatever Chae Lim possesses... and i hate to watch such stuff..


however, i happened to watch 1 ep of it which was showing the Jang Dong Gun & Chae Lim and i got interested in their love relation and therefore i started watching this drama..

overall, i quite like this drama.

This has got to by the most greatest Korean movie I have watch. The plot are so imaginative. This is a must-watch series. Honestly, people who like fantasy, daydream should watch this. They will never regret this. The casts are awesome. Lol, the main actor is cute and so is the main actresses. The supporting character are also great. Though, when I watch this movie, I hate the evil girl (lol, forgot her name) but I think it's her that make me so interest in this movie. She make me want to find out when is everyone going to find out that she's evil, when ChaeRim will take her revenge, and when will ChaeRim rise to fame... lol... Overall, its a good series.

this has a feel-good ending Kim So yun was so good in her acting that i really hated her Chae Rim & Jang Dong Gun had good chemistry too. definitely worth-watching.

This was a pretty good series. Chea Rim is a very singularly cute actress, although I wish they could have spent more time on why the two leads fell in love with each other. There didn't seem to be much progression, they were friends, and then in episode 8 all the sudden he is in love with her. But I suppose that is just knitpicking on what is over all a very good series. The lead guy has the energy about him that is very charismatic, and his character doesn't give up on the girl because he feels obligated to be with someone else - always a plus in korean drama.

Sometimes, I can like the bad guy - either cause the bad guy is sympathetic or because they are so deliciously evil you can't help but appreciate the character (like Lex Luthor). However, Young-mi is the kind that just plain drives you nuts. The only other time I was so frustrated with the bad guy was that evil sister in "Stairway to Heaven". Well......the bad chick in "Honesty" is pretty frustrating too.......okay, I'd say these 3 are the worst. They make you want to kick the television screen.

Great ending, makes you glad you spent all that time watching the episodes before it.

i heard that this is a good series! i went to my local rental store and told them i wanted to rent "all about eve" but they needed the actual viet or mandrian title to be able to know what it is that im talking about... so... can someone tell me what the viet title for it is? is it also available in like a mandrian subtitle? if so, whats the chinese title? thanx look foward to watching it!

This is the BEST, I repeat, BEST korean drama i had ever watched. Jung Don Gun is so manly (haha) and Chae Lim is so cute. His caring towards this girl almost even made me jealous of her. Its a sad but yet very warm drama. I would recommend it to ANYONE, EVERYONE.

I just watched parts of this series today after my enthusiastic aunt lent me the DVDs telling me it was a "must-watch" and that I'd fall in love with Jang Dong Gun. Well, I didn't, but from what I've seen, it's pretty good. I kinda like the evil girl and her boyfriend more than the main couple, just find them more interesting...ie. him loving her so much even though she's disgusting to him. And is it just me but from a few rare angles that boyfriend looks a bit like Won Bin? As for JDG, he's very manly...and Chae Rim is so sweet and smiley...maybe a bit *too* sweet and smiley in the beginning. And gosh they have some irritating friends! But all in all, more watchable than the weepy Autumn Story and thank God no one gets leukaemia.

I loved this series. It was the typical good girl vs bad girl serie but nevertheless, it was enjoyable. I thought the girl was really cute and the evil girl acted good. The rich cute guy was charsimatic. IT was a happpy ending too.

Wow, this is my favorite korean drama of all time. It really shows the evil and goodness between the two characters. I loved the relationship between Sun Mi and Hyung Chul. I think my favorite part in the movie was when it was raining and Hyung Chul said he thinks that if Woo Jin was really there waiting for Sun Mi, then he'll let Sun Mi go. The acting was fantastic. All four main characters were great and the side characters were funny.

WOW! I LOVE THIS DRAMA ALL ABOUT EVE. I LOVE THE MAIN ACTRESS AND ACTOR. THEY REALLY ARE A CUTE COUPLE. I LIKE CHAE RIM. SHE IS VERY BEAUTIFUL AND HER SMILE IS VERY NICE. SHE LOOKS REALLY GOOD WITH JDG.

I just started this series, and I love JDG so much b/c of this series. I am now a big fan of his. In my opinion, this is CR best series. JDG and CR romance was so cute, much better than the chemistry between CR and Alec.

I haven't actually finished watching it yet...but i think Jang Dong Gun looks soooooooooo hot in there...well...it's actually da only series I've seen with him in it...lolz...but it's what make me like him...lolz...I thought the story was really good and it's good to finally not have the female leads dying of cancer or something...lolz...I love this series!!!

All About eve still remains as my all-time favorite Korean drama series. I remember when I first got my hands on it, I finished the whole thing in like 2 days and obsessed over it for weeks!!!! Man, JDG is some actor; I saw him in a previous drama before this called Medical Brothers and couldn't even compare the two characters he portrayed in both dramas (AAE and Medical Brothers) because they were so different. Words can't describe JDG and I am just in awe of his screen presence.
