Seven swords ..... the art direction is spectatcular and the fight scenes are pretty good , but the story does not follow the novel at all , aside from a few names used. The seven swords referred to in the novel isn't the 7 mentioned in the movie.

So story wise i think it was a lil strange , and didn't make that much sense . Killing innocent people for reward money ? thats a bit far fetched isn't it?

Anyway i thought the acting was okay , not really that much to go on - Charlie Yeung's performance was probably best outta of the lot , and she did get alot of screen time.

I generally like movies that are ancient and uses swords and martial arts. I personally enjoyed Seven Swords very much, regardless of its ridiculous plot. Donnie Yen is the man.

i was about to watch this movie in guang zhou arr but end up watch Bug Me Not! haha is good ma? if yes leh i go barrow la x)

This movie have alot of action, but the ending is kind of incomplete. The emperor is still alive. They should continue with part 2. Hopefully if it do have it, it be more action like the first one..

Just finishing watching this movie. I thought it was kinda long but it was worth watching. I like the action/fighting scene and the costumes/makeup they use on the actors. I liked how in the beginning how some scenes were in black and white.

After having watched Seven Sword i have to admit the plot was kind of confusing for me the ending wasnt really completetd... but i would have to say some of the fighting scences were awsome stuff...

hopfully a part 2 comes out so the movie can end on a better note...

this is somehow a COPY-CAT movie..the main storyline was copied from the japanese folkfore (samurai 7); which japan has its anime as well..

although there was modifications here and there; but the main storyline was the same where 7 samurais were hired to protect the village from bandits and governments. The village mainly produce food (so they cannot leave the village), which was also the same as samurai 7..and one of the samurais (with bandana) and wood (with sword edge) was also the same..etc etc etc..

this film was ok, wasnt all dat good frm wot i expected it 2 b, lets jus hope dey ave a sequel n make the ended make more sense?:S

i dont think this movie was that great. i mean leon's acting wasnt that great and i didnt really think it was worth all the hype. it was a let down, not wat i expected it to be and not really following the book if any of you have read it. i hope the tv series they are filming is going to be way better.

I love these type of ancient wusa movies, but Seven swords was only average. My main complaint was the script. A lot of pieces were missing probably becuz it was originally 4 hours long. I dont know when the 4 hour version is coming out. Hopefully it will make the movie more enjoyable. I like the action scenes and like the swords. Leon's acting was okay, but people shouldnt expect an award winning performance because he didnt get a whole lot of screen time. Donnie Yen is my fav character in the movie.

Does anyone know when they are gonna start shooting the sequel. I hope its soon because i want to see it and the actors are going to age over time. Its best to do all of it at once. I heard theres going to be 7 movies. I dont want them to stop making the movie towards the middle of the story. THat would leave the audience hanging. Just like Jet Li's kung fu cult master. they made the first one but didnt make the second one because it flopped in the box office. THe funny thing is that a lot of people actually liked that movie.

They told it was "big". It was pretty good yeah, action were great, Leon Lai's acting was a bit weak. Donnie Yen was good I guess.

The story really didn't make much sense to me. The action was good i guess, but i thought there were a lot of holes in the story. The story seemed to jump to things really quick and I didn't really pick up on any reason why things happened. Like all of a sudden swords appear... and then for some reason these two normal people get to use these swords... just didn't make much sense to me.

i really like this old ancient time china movies. and all these martial arts. hope this is good. because im getting it. but the storyline seem to be ehhh and ok... but i can never say no to one of these kind of movie.

I don't know, but i just saw this film being trailered in the british cinemas, which means yay its going to get a UK release!!!

I was disappointed with this movie because the flow of the whole movie just wasn't good at all, plus the story was not great either.

But it was not a bad movie, just i had very high expectation for it, that's the reason i was disappointed after seeing it.

the kung fung scenes were very good, but the story wasn't great though. give it a try for the kung fung fighting part.

The storyline to the movie was ok, but is it still stinks. The fighting scenes and the swords are pretty cool. Seven swords each of them have their own capability.

I thought the movie was really confusing... but the battle scenes were nice. It was quite long for me to sit through, though.. haha Overall it was an OK movie, watch it for the fight scenes! =D

Overall, the movie is ok. The story is sorts of boring, not too much character development but the fighting is well choreographed and the scenery is breathtaking.

Finally I have watched this one. But what a dissappointment... I thought this must be a great big one from Tsui Hark. But no.... I haven't read the orginal story. But Liang Yu-Shen is a level lower then Louis Chaa, can't compare the two. So that could be a reason why this movie is such of mistake. First of all the story doesn't make any sense, doesn't have any depth. So simple and weird... looks like the Asian "Mad Max" environment. But how beautiful is Charlie after so many yrs, but how fatty is Leon now...
K, talking about the fight scenes, it's not really Donny Yen's style. But the moves were performed by the old grandpa Lau Ka Leung, the one who was rescued by Charlie. He's irl a kungfu master, but unfortunately a bit out of date and sure not from this time anymore.

Fine... at last, it is not recomended, but if you are bored you can watch it....

seven swords...you would think there would be alot of action in this movie. yet most of it is just head chopping and slaughter, where there was no retaliation. also there was not much story to the swords..it was just a short description. all throughout this movie i was bored

Seven Swords is a dissapointment. The enemies are KiSS inspired. The soundtrack sounds like it is in a rush production. It doesnt really match the fighting scenes. It is not epic but a normal fighting adventure movie. No offence, but Leon Kai su*cks. There were too many characters and little character development. After getting the sword without any melee fighting skills, and become a pro kung-fu master, it's plain uninteresting. Tsu Hark, please come back to your old self.

I don't think the story is great and the characters aren't acting that well, but fightscenes makes a lot good. They are defenitly making a sequel

i thought i was really really good....like movies where alot of fighting and flying is involve...because i love those movies....but it's not that exciting....i expected more.... but i liked the idea of 7 swords, i thhought they should fight more and include more action.... but anyways...i like the movie!!

I wasn't a huge fan of the movie, I thought the heroes were a tad overpowered as the main antagonists didn't have much screen time. When I first started the movie I thought the evil woman who leads the raid on the village would play an important part later in the movie, but she didn't, and this was true of all of the antagonists.

i ddn't really see a 'point' to the movie, too much ppl died, its sorta sick.

this movie so dissapointed me. When i read the synopsis, it was pretty good. and there was such a big "hype" around it, and everyone was talking about it. But it wasn't really that good. I found the plot flawed, and I just lost the point of watching it when the girl died (the one that was rescueded, and everyone think's she a spy). The only positive aspect is the fighting sequence to it.

I watched this movie a few months back and I can't really remember the details. All I can recall was that most of my friends didnt like the movie, but I thought it was nice! Its a good kung fu movie...and i loved all kinds of kung fu movie...probably that's why...

really i hope they take balance out the arty scenes and the action ones, they should replace some the arty scenes them with more action (like they used to in like the 80's and 90's). Or at least show us what else the swords can do.

Great movie, hope got part 2 . The fight seen very good. People who like short play should see this show.

Man I heard so much about this movie, Some say itz good and some say itz bad. I Still didn't get to watch it yet. hope I'll watch it soon though...
