TVB Annivesary Gala is coming up in November again. What are your predictions for Best Actor, Best Actress, Most Improved Male Newcommer, Most Improved Female Newcommer, and Best Couple as of now? Come edit your posts when you see other series.

Best Actor- Moses Chan or Joe Ma. It depends on how well their upcoming characters and series are going to do. In this department, Moses has 3 upcoming series....Healing Hands 3, Gentle Crackdown, Love Bond, and Powder and Rouge, and Fire Dance Yellow Sands (if it finish filming and shows in before November). Moses gain popularity with Love Bond and Gentle Crackdown, so if his character in Healing Hands 3, Powder and Rouge, and Fire Dance yellow sand are interesting, andt the series itself does good, this is Moses' year to win this award. As for Joe Ma, his only chance is Revolving Door of Vengence. If he does really well, and if the serie is really really well receive, he would win the award from Moses. Anyhow, I'm rooting for Moses!

***Best Actor also has another nominee for me, Michael Miu! In my opinion, it would be between Michael Mui and Moses Chan. It would be sad if Moses lose, but then it would also be bad if Michael doesn't get it. I guess, I would be happy if either wins.

Best Actress- It's between Kenix and Charmaine. I think this award is long overdue for Kenix, and I think she has a really REALLY high chance of getting it, as long as someone doesn't pull a Yu Fei- Sheren Teng thing before the anniversary. If her character is really good in Revolving Door of Vengence, she would preserve her position for the award. As for Charmaine, I don't think any of her characters would be that outstanding for the best actress award, except...maybe that Always on Standby serie. If she does really well and the serie achieves Triumph in the Skies phenemenon, who knows, maybe Kenix has to wait another year. And yes, Kenix has Ten Brothers coming out, but it seems like the brothers would be the main focus, not her. On the other hand, Charmaine's role in Lethal Weapons of Power and Love seems meaty.....

**Well, since the year is coming to an end. There are some changes in my prediction for Best Actress. Looks like there is going to be either competition with Kenix and Liza, or Liza winning by a majority, but not Charmaine as she only has one serie. I really hope Kenix wins though, but it's like placing a bet whether TVB would give it to someone else other than Liza if you know what I mean.


Most Improved Male Newcomer-I think it's between Kevin and Bosco. Kevin's really promoted, and he's always been well liked by the audience. I only know of his Yummy Yummy series coming out, so I don't know how he would fare other than that one. As for Bosco, his Wong Fei Hung series surpassed expectations (at least to me) and he has Lethal Weapons of Passion and Love coming out. Let's see who's more well like by TVB.

Most Improved Female Newcomer- Either Bernice, Leila, or Sharon Chan. I think Bernice has a very very high chance of getting this, since she has been in the news, a good image, and is in a fairly good amount of popular tvb series this year...Love Bond and now Healing Hands 3. Even though Healing Hands probably won't live up to the original, this serie gives a really good image and character. As for the latter, I think Leila and Sharon probably would be in for the running, but I dont think they would play any characters that can win over TVB's support/promotion of Bernice. Remember, Shirley won this last year. This can be easily called, Most Adored by TVB Newcomer awards.

Best Couple- Ekin and Charmaine, Kenix and Joe Ma, Lawrence and Gigi, etc, lots of possibility here...depends on who can give the most romantic couple storyline.....I think Ekin and Charmaine has a really touching storyline basing on the clips I saw in Ekin's MV. Lawrence and Gigi has pretty good chemistry before. kenix and joe ma may pull a bowie and gigi thing.

anyhow, this is just my predictions so far. What changes would depend on what series is going to show up next. Please let there be better series....The Gateau Affairs and Herbalist Manual don't really live up to par what I call decent TVB series even.

I wish Kenix Kwok wins best actress. She has waited long enough.

Best Actor- Moses Chan : I don't think someone could win it except him, except if Ray does EXTREMELY good in LWOLAP.

Best Actress - Kenix or Charmaine : Kenix's role from Revolving Doors and Charmaine from Lethal Weapons , its certainly one of this 2.

Best Newcomer Male - Bosco Wong : It was Raymond , after Ron , its Bosco's turn.

Best Newcomer Female - Sharon Chan : I dunno but I just have a feeling that she'll get that.

At the Moment:

Male: MOSES!~ His soo funny!~~ in "Gentle Crack Down"

Female: Kenix Kwok. Her acting in "Love Bond" is soo good. Her crying scenes are really touching

for male actors i thinks its between ray and moses. for wome i think charmein will win it just for the fact that she has been a in alot of series

Moses for sure, fav actress i think Kenix, she hasn't won this award. Most improved male kevin and fav actress i think its bernice because she has def improved in Love bond and Healing Hands looks good for her.

Best Actor
My pick: Michael Tao in Fantasy Hotel. Simply because his acting in FH revived my admiration and feelings that I had for him when I was little but have gotten lost throughout the years.
My prediction: Moses Chan. Though I do think Moses is a very talented actor, he hasn't WOWed me yet (with the exception of his role in PITNOL..but that's 2 yrs ago.)

Best Actress
My pick: Kenix or Charmaine, I think both are deserving.. and I think both are probably the only 'real' contenders for it this year.. Kenix should get it out of not really seniority, but more of the fact that she has been solid in her acting all these years.

Most Improve Actor
My pick: Bosco
My prediction: I think Bosco and Sammul are the top contenders.. Kevin is out of the picture, he should be leaning towards Best Actor. I'd be very surprise if Kevin wins, but I wouldn't erase the possibility. At first I was almost certain that Bosco should get it, but I think Sammul received a lot of recognition and support for his role in The Academy. However, Bosco has the backing of hyped series WOTIL and grand production LWOLAP. My final verdict: Bosco

Most Improve Actress
My pick: Sharon Chan/Selena Li
My prediction: Most probably Bernice, with a quater chance of Selena. I think if Selena's HM was aired in HK, this could quite possibly be her award. But popularity of course leans towards Bernice. Linda won't get it cause she's still 'fresh.' Sharon won't get it because.. well.. she just won't. Mandy won't get it because TVB isn't THAT dumb. Leila won't get it for pretty much the same reasons + more as Sharon. I wonder if Niki is going to be in this catagory. If so, she might have a chance. HK seems to be loving her right now.

I'm really more interested about the Extraordinary awards. If anyone have a list of past winners, please let me know. There's plenty of people I can think of that should've won this award long ago.

Moses or Raymond
Moses gained a lot, a lot of popularity with his smartass character in the Gentle Crackdown, plus he has like.... 3 new series coming up, big chance for him.
As for Raymond, also he has a lot of chance. He will star in LWOPAL and Yummy Yummy. These are big productions, so he'll have a lot of chance too.

Best Actress:
I think it'll be Charmaine or Myolie.
Charmaine is in two big TVB productions, also LWOPAL and Yummy Yummy. Sure she'll win a lot of popularity!
Myolie... she's a good actress, I don't get sick of seeing her, but I'm sure the HK people do, so that's her disadvance. But if not, she'll sure make a chance. Just look at her nr. of series...

Most improved newcomer Male:
Bosco! He really has improved. Just look at him in WOIL. Everyone will love him after this series. If they don't pick him. I swear I'll give them a personal treatment!

Most improved newcomer Female:
It's between Bernice Liu and Sharon Chan.
They both have potential, both have a lot of series coming up, both will gain loads of popularity. Just have to see how HK people think about it. They have the most influence.

best actor: i hope its bobby au yeung . raymond? i think he still has a long way to go... and no offence but kevin can't even act how can he like win the best actor award when he lacks acting skills? it would be just a disgrace if actors like bobby, roger, michael lose to him.

best actress: i really hope its ada Choi. or sheren tang.. they didn't win last year and they totally deserved it i just hope they win this year. charmaine, she might have a big possiblity of winning.. for myolie.. i think she still has to wait for another 3 years or so.. she's still young..and like charamine she's been in tvb for so many years and she still hasn't even won any best actress award yet.. how can myolie win this year? she probably will get the favorite character award..and if its the favorite character award it would be in the series "Scavenger paradise" and not " Gateau Affairs" because there's too much critisim about her in that sereis.

best improved female: i have a big feeling it might be bernice liu. but i really want leila to win it. i just hope that the audience would be really impressed by her acting in ten brothers.

best improved male: i want bosco to win, his acting skills aren't bad they are pretty good in a way. look forward to seeing him in leathing weapons to find out if he improved or not:)

Bobby, Ada and Sheren all can't win cause they don't have any series out this year.

Best Actor-I would say Michael Tao. He is really funny in FH and in Love Bond he was good. Moses..is alright. I don't think his acting is anything special. He hasn't had that role that has made be go WOW.

Best Actress-KENIX!!! This has been love overdue. Her acting in Love Bond is something to watch. The crying scenes were so touching and she made her character great.

Most improved actor-Bosco? He has come along.

Most improved actress-Bernice. I don't think she a good actress but she has improved.(also because i have no clue about anyone else) She's not as stiff and her words flow better.

That's my opinion.

i would have to agree that moses did a solid job in his recent series...and he does deserve the best actor award...
yet...there's a lot of other veteran he has to beat...

as for female lead, i have a feeling that perhaps kenix didn't win it was simply becuz she's married..
and we know how tvb dislikes promoting them too much...just like sonija kwok was stripped off a lot of opportunities the moment she admits that she's dating deric wan

i think its too early to predict even though novemeber is in less than 2 months but its right before the awards that the best movies are released. like healing hands and war of in laws.. these movies are expected to have high ratings.. altho im not sure with healing hands because of the timing it is aired. there is still more movies to come with the better actors. in my opinion i think..

best actor: moses or raymond
i think they are both really good actors. i dont really think joe ma would win because gateau affairs didnt get that good ratings.

ok.. myolie is just my wish for her to win.. so yeah! lOL. but i think kenix DESERVES to win altho i dont she would cause she doesnt have this luck. but i love her acting. charmaine cause she DESERVES it and i think she has this luck. i thought she could've win last year (if there wasnt sheren). she is a lot better than gigi in war of beauty. i just cant stand her crying. (my opinion).
Most Improved Male Newcomer: bosco
most likely its him cause i think he would get pretty good reviews in war of in laws and his acting is definitely GOOD. besides him.. i dont really know who else could be against him. the rest of the 5 stars that havent won the award yet is not really doing a good job.
Most Improved Female Newcomer: leila or bernice
definitely not sharon in my opinion. i thought leila deserved it last year. she did an excellent job and i think shes a lot better than shirley. i thought bernice improved a lot since she first started acting. altho i think leila is still better (cause she is experienced.. she started acting since she was really little).
Best couple: i have no idea.

Bernice Liu hasn't improved much, Love Bond was a good series but i felt that she hasn't improved in that. and watching HH3, she is the same to me, not much improvement...i really hope leila gets it this yr, hoping that Ten Brothers will be good, and The Last Breakthrough counts too, don't forget u guys! Even tho it was aired at the end of the last year, it didn't make it to the 38th anni, and its considered to be in 39th anni award, well thats what Raymond Lam said.

The best Actor Award should go to Moses because he has been in so many series this year. Bowie already got one so it is probably Moses turn. Maybe Joe Ma he is good alson

The Best Actress Award should Go to Myolie she has been great this year producing many series for the audience. Also Kenix has a great chance with a new series coming out (the hotel one)

Should be given to Bosco. He has improved so much this year. His acting has greatly improved. Ron and Ray alrealdy got it should be his turn.

Bernice has the strongest chance to win her category because Healing Hands gives her the strongest point in winning the award and also, she has been a great image for TVB. Kenix has waited for a long time to win the actress award and I think its time for her to shine this year.

I don't really think its possible because I seriously think that Roger didn't do a good job in SP and Jessica's Just Love didn't really get high ratings. And Bosco is really famous now in HK , Sammul won't win it probably, but Leila Tong is possible.

Since the awards are mainly for TVB to promote whoever they want these are my predictions:

Best actress: Charmaine Sheh. She's TVB's biggest star at the moment that hasn't won any major award.Besides all her shows are aired in the second half of the year so viewers would keep her fresh in their minds. Only challenger is Kenix Kwok who is also due an award but Charmaine makes more sense for TVB.


Best actor: Tough one because there aren't that many A-lister male stars as compared to the female section. I would say its between Sunny Chan,Moses Chan,Bowie Lam or Michael Tao and the ratings and reviews of their various shows would surely have some impact.


Most improved male: Bosco Wong for sure,he's the only one left of the rising stars without an award combined with the success of war in laws make him a shoo-in for this one.


Most improved female: Again this is easy,Bernice Liu has had so much promotion and exposure over the past year that its hard for anyone else besides her to take this award.

Best couple: Hard to say now but front runners could be Myolie/Lisa(war in laws), Moses/Niki(gentl crackdown), Bernice/Moses(love bond).


Just some of my predictions for now but much will depend on how things are played out in the second half of the year.

Most Improve Actor
ron ng. i mean he has improve alot since the academy. don't you guys think so?also he's taking a role in revolving doors of vengence. he seems like he has show alot of effort and improvement from what i saw in the clip with linda chung and ella koon.

he already got that award last year if i'm not mistaken... and i dont think you can win that award again...

and no... i still dont see any improvements from him... he's still expressionless... saw the trailer for revolving door of vengence and he still looks the same...

1- He already won it (And we won't talk about if it was deserved or not)
2- Even if he didn't , I don't think he would of get it with Bosco's WOIL. If Bosco doesn't win it TVB.

My predictions based on what's been out...given, it's still so early so who knows what the other series will do....especially Lethal Weapons of Passion and Love & Always on Standby, those are probably the tipper of the scale...for now, my guess would be:

Best Actor:
I think it'll be between Moses & Lawrence. Honestly, I love Ray, but I think he has some ways to go before he gets to this stage. So far this year, I've seen Moses in Love Bond, Gentle Crackdown and now, just starting HH3. He's been able to carry the role well but nothing that really wow-ed me yet. However, he's really popular so I won't be surprised if he gets it. The reason I have Lawrence as a big contender is because he's reprising his role as "Ching Zhi Mei"...people love that character & him being that character. And he does portray Paul really well so who knows. Michael should be a contender but dunno if TVB will give him that opportunity.

Best Actress:
Like others have said, it'll be between Kenix & Charmaine. Both have outstanding AND high profile series this year. Kenix work in Love Bond really solidified her acting quality and if Revolving Doors of Vengence is as good as it is hyped up to be, she will have a VERY big chance. Ah Sheh on the other hand also has big series pulling for her...Yummy Yummy is out, LWOPAL should also be good and Always on Standby. 3 big productions and she just maybe able to tip the scale with Always on Standby if it does really really well as the anniversary series. Partnering w/ Ekin also helps. Some say Myolie is in the running...I don't think so. She has many series out this yr, but I didn't feel that those series were that good yet (except WOTIL) and she still has some ways to go before she gets to this point...like what I said about Ray above.

Most Improved Actor:
Bosco, Bosco, Bosco. He deserves it this year and he should get it this year. He was very convincing in Wong Fei Hung, so far, WOTIL is pretty good. He still has LWOPAL to come...definitely a big big chance for him. I'll be surprised if it wasn't him this year.

Most Improved Actress:
It'll be a toss up between Bernice & Leila. Leila was very good in TLB, she played the part really well and it had me totally rooting for her. However, she only has Ten Brothers left for this year and I don't think it'll be enough...maybe next yr when "Ah Wong" comes back. For Bernice, she did quite well in Love Bond and so far so good for HH3. 2 big series, 2 big roles so she'll most probably get it. As for those that said Sharon Chan...I never really put her in the running b/c I don't think her acting is up to par yet. Potential yes...but I still find her quite annoying.

Best Couple:
Many many choices for this one...Michael & Kenix, Lawrence & Gigi, Ekin & Charmaine, Moses & Bernice. It'll be a big toss up and will really depend on the series to come.

Again, these are just my guesses for now...they may change after I've seen some of the big productions.

actually for most improved actress i don't think that bernice is gonna get it agen..
because i think u only get this award once...if i have not mistaken she got it with ron ng...

so i think that linda might have a chance for VOH 2..

you're right that you typicallly get it once, but last yr, Shirley got it with Ron, not Bernice. So she'll have a very good chance this year.

In my opinion:

Best actress: Kenix Kwok (She has acted so many years, I think it's her turn to win that)

Best actor: Moses Chan (I don't know something in him makes me think that he have very big chance to win)

Most improve actor: Bosco (I think Bosco has very big chance too. He has many series this year where he is 1. or 2. lead main.

Most improve actress: I very hope for Leila, because her acting is good and she has acted so many series.
But I think Bernice Liu will win because Bernice is TVB's contract artist, and Leila isn't.

Best actress: I'm thinking Charmaine because she has quite a few series coming up that would probably promote her chance of winning. I hope she does. She's a really good actress. But there might be a chance of Myolie since she's in so much this year. But I'm DEFINITELY NOT rooting for her. She bugs me because her face is in everything. I don't see why TVB promote her so much...

Best actor: Frankly I don't really know who has a big chance of winning this one...Not many actors have left that deep an impression on my mind other than Bosco but that's not counted...

Most improve actor: I would think Bosco...I'm ROOTING FOR YOU!!!! YOU ROCK MY SOCKS!!! I'm not being biased though. Bosco has the biggest chance of winning since the ratings of 'War of the In Laws' is so high and 'Lethal Weapons of Love and Passion' is also filled with a star studded cast (to me). 'Legend of Ah Wong' sounds like a good series too and not to forget 'Wong Fei Hung', that was also a good series. He has lovable characters and is a GREAT actor. So he has the biggest chance of winning.

Most improve actress: I'm hoping for Leila to win because she's a good actress and I really like her...She looks good with Bosco. I just hope that her roles leave deep impressions in our minds. Niki Chow is okay too...

I think best actor/actress will be ones from War and Beauty. I mean... they didn't get 40+ points for nothing right?
