I understand where some of you guys are coming from, first of all i'm a Tavia fan. I became a fan of her long before her makeover. I love her old modest, down to earth look. When i saw articles and articles of Tavia about her don't mind getting her breast enlarge or seeing picture of Tavia giving us more of a "sexy" image...i was a little "what is she doing?" I don't hate it but i don't love it. I was in the middle-feeling of her whole big change thing. But if you see Tavia's latest pictures, her look isn't as "sexy" anymore. To me she isn't slutty, she was just trying to find her new look and maybe because of the change so sudden we got a little confused lol

If you watch the Fathers and Sons series you could see the old Tavia mixed with the new Tavia.

In reality I like Tavia really much. But sometimes I hate her roles. She can improve more if TVB gives her a chance though. In my opinion Tavia looks prettier than other actresses.

Not really. Her acting has improved over time, imo. Also, I think she deserves a main role, like what she is getting now. Her popularity and everything has improved, and I'm so happy xD Well, I admit I'm a die-hard Tavia fan and everything, but I don't go around praising her to the MAX and claim she is the PERFECT GIRL in the world, and that all actresses lose to her. I've change my opinion on her ever since HOG. I really like her character there. It's very outstanding. Wish she came out more.

Just to illustrate a point, TVB LOVE why are you mentioning Linda in a Tavia hater's thread? From your other post in Linda's Haters Thread you obviously are a fan of Linda so am I going to say 'Linda fans' dislike Tavia? No and I shouldn't.

I think you guys would find fans saying she's the 'perfect girl in the world' kinda posts in her idol threads. You don't think you can expect fans would say 'she looks crap' in an idol's thread right? fans together in one place can have that affect. It might appear that way because AF obviously have a large Tavia fanbase so you see them everywhere.

Hmm..I agree that Tavia does look weird sometimes - it depends what hairstyle, clothes, make-up she has on and if it suits her or not. Tavia looked cute in Eternal Happiness and The Academy. Heart of Greed, maybe you didn't like her hairstyle, clothes or just simply hated her appearance in HOG, but I say she looked pretty good. Not everyone I see can pull off that haircut. Tavia has just as much potential as Leila, Linda, Shirley etc. to lead a series. Tavia is just as pretty and hardworking as Linda..now I'll stop there before this turns into a Linda-Tavia comparison. As much as I like Tavia in her suppoting roles, I think she deserves a chance to lead her own serie with a decent plot/storyline.

She does not look like a horse at all - not to me but to you, sure. Hm what makes you think Linda's fans aren't annoying as well? (I'm not saying that they are.) It is not only Tavia's fans. There are other actresses' fans that are also like that. Of course they would think she is the best, it is their opinion and they are her fans. We don't expect fans to go : "Ugh Tavia is like the worst actress ever and I hope she never gets to be a female lead." And everyone ages, Tavia is nearing her age and she is becoming more mature. I'm sorry Tavia does not have a "perfect" figure like Kate Tsui - no one is perfect. Well I think that as celebrities or not, grow, they'd be looking for their own style and what suits them and what doesn't. I sorta agree that when people gets older, their style changes. But the way Tavia said things, I found her words very contradicting. It's like she wants other to see her as such an innocent down to earth girl but her actions are totally opposite. I am seeing her wearinga ALOT of mini skirts etc. Always showing off her legs now and sometimes her chest! I don't have a prob with whatever she wears but she should stop sounding so innocent and conservative when she's not! Hypocrite is what I call her.

I personally found Tavia aging very quick. I am not even a fan of Gigi Lai but if I don't know both of them, I'd thought Gigi is younger than her. Tavia defnitely looks like she's in the 30s. Her acting doesn't get any better. I thought she got worse. I used to like her when she first came out. I thought she was pretty and got potential. She's still better than the newer generation actresses, however, for someone who acted in so many series (even more than Jessica and Ada). I think she's just very average but I kept hearing how some fans praising her to be the best actress etc. I know we don't insult our own idols. I personally won't said my idol suck etc but I won't go to the extend to think she is the best. There are so many great actresses out there.

To me, I won't particular stop watching a serie because Tavia is in it. But she's definitely not someone that I preferred watching.

I personally dont find Tavia that old. lol. She definitely looked very young when she was acting in yummy yummy. But recently after she took on mature roles, i find her older but not to the extent of being in the 30s. Sometimes in entertainment circle, you cant really do what you want. That's why i pity them sometimes. I dont know whether their clothes are chosen by them but an actress cant always wear clothes that are conservative. But, on an objective pov, she didnt really wear that revealing clothes all the time. Sometimes only i guess. I am one who dont really mind about clothes but if an actress has been wearing revealing clothes all the time, i will really notice and change my opinion of her. So far, i feel that she is still ok. Believe me, i've seen worst.

sometimes it is also necessary to change your style if you want to survive in the entertainment circle. I wont really say i like her new style but i find that ppl tend to notice her more after she changes her style and she can explore more roles now. Cant possbily expect her to film young gal roles all her life right? Perhaps she changed her style at a later stage, that's why many ppl start disliking her. If she is like that all along maybe ppl wont dislike her that much because of her style.

That makes me think of how some critics are complaining that she always has to play 'innocent girls in need of help' roles so it gets all annoying and such. Yet other critics or probably the same critics are saying 'She's trying to be all sexy now and showing alot of skin and this-that-this-that'. But if Tavia had not changed her image, she'd always be typecasted as the 'innocent girl in help' and not as her 'ditzy asian blonde' in dicey business or 'impatient Jackie' in Heart of Greed.

That may have been a little biased since I am a pretty hardcore Tavia fan, and I read all the posts in the perspective as a fan.

Okay now I wanted to add in something about Tavia after watching a clip of her in 'Building Blocks Of Life' aka Love Construction in Astro On Demand there's a scene in the Hospital where Tavia was with Alex Fong and she was crying terribly GOSH!!!!I felt terribly annoyed by it I almost did this------> :xiao1: It was extremly irritating!!!I have to say that it was the WORST crying scene I've ever seen so far from Tavia!!!

I haven't watch that trailer yet but sometimes i dont cry tavia's crying too. sometimes, it is good sometimes it is too overdone. i like her crying in HOG but dislike her crying in Golden faith and the academy. i guess that is the one of the few inconsistent things i dont like about her.

All her roles are similiar to the other ones,nothing special...I particularly don't like her crying skills,it looks really fake. Throughout the years, Tavia has failed to capture my attention. To me there is nothing special or appealing about her. She is pretty at certain angles, but then when I take a good look at her facial features, she looks odd and disproportional. She should also go easy on the make-up, but then again her natural beauty doesn't really shine.

I don't like it when she cries, she squishes her face and her lips look like it's swollen. She kind of looks like she is constipated (sorry don't know how else to describe it). Very fake looking. I don't like the way her lips pout either. Her acting is mediocre, I don't see her playing very challenging roles. In fact she acts the same way from character to character and it's hard to distinguish it sometimes. I think her characters will never surpass a pretty face or bratty roles. She doesn't have that intelligent look. They can add glasses, bun, and a suit and try, but there are some who look smart without trying so hard, like Jessica.

If I NEVER see Tavia in an ancient role again, I'll consider myself lucky. She doesn't have that ancient beauty look. Not only that but her martial arts suck...it's a true embarrassment to real martial artists. Granted she's just an actress, but if you are going to play that role, then do it well. She just seems so weak and frail...maybe that's why she is never often portrayed as a martial artists. She has limitations.

As her for sexy dressing style, I think there is nothing wrong with her showing off her legs all the time in those tiny boyshorts and whatnot of hers. She's a woman and she has cute skinny legs...so she can flaunt it. She doesn't have much of a chest, so I suppose that is why she never really showed it that much, but if she were too..then there's nothing wrong with that.

When I watch her during interviews, I can see she craves attention, like one time long ago while watching GF interview, she actually grabbed the interviewers hand and literally TRIED to bite his hand. I'm thinking, what in the world is this girl doing. Are you trying to be cute or funny? Whatever! Then I remember a long time ago when trying to climb that ladder of hers, she purposely snatches Ron's hand and pulls him away from another girl for more attention. But I have to admit this girl knows how to work it with men and news reporter, she's actually quite the flirt, but I know it takes two to tango. And she always makes a comment to the reporters, "don't write anything bad about me." So luckily for her they really never do, she is pretty much rumor free....but to me she's not news-worthy.

I would love it if she just takes a break from filming, and stop accepting every role that comes her way. But she wants to make TVB happy and just do whatever they want her to do to climb up that latter. But hey, it's her career...so it's understandable.

Overall, I just don't really like the girl. I don't "hate" her. But she's not charismatic or a great actress to me. I rather see her stick to supporting roles. To me she just doesn't have Fa Dan quality. TVB has really downgraded with so many great actresses leaving or appearing less and now promoting all these no-talent flower-vase people.

As for people liking Tavia because she is simply "pretty"--I do not think so. When I first saw her in TOB--I disliked her very much because she was not pretty whatsoever like some of my relatives said she was. I'm hesitant to say this, b/c after all this is a tread about disliking Tavia and not about her fans. BUT I do have to state an observation I noticed as I meander through AF. How do I state this without the risk of offending people? (I don't think I can). It seems to me a good majority (or the most outspoken ones anyways) of Tavia fans seem to be pretty judgmental. In a sense that a lot hold their "idol" in such a regard that they feel that no other compares to Tavia. I guess we are using Bota as an example. Let's say this fan loves Tavia and Bosco..so obviously they love Bota...they feel that Bota is the ultimate couple to him or her, and no one else can even compare to their chemistry...its a good assumption to make that they feel that boscolie or whomever doesn't compare to Bota either. So it's reasonable that they will be more closed minded in accepting other views. But in all honestly, besides the often annoyance every now and then to others, it's understandable that they feel this way. I mean they love their idol and that's their opinions and what they truly believe. It was more noticeable to me to see this in Tavia fans, b/c they dominate the TVB threads at AF. I think most fans in general will hold their idol on a pedestal as well. Again, it's just easier to point out Tavia fans, b/c they are more in numbers. Just take a look at this thread, for every one post...there are at least 3 to defend. Okay, sorry, that's more than what I wanted to write regarding this and I'm done talking about it.

BBgirl93, Tavia acting cute and whatever is a whole other issue. But what I meant is I think she purposely does certain actions to draw attention towards herself, like she's either doing some "goofy" or "cute" mannerism. (Which I find annoying) She's also such a flirt, She's either touching a guy, or giving him a flirty hit. Take the "Salt Traders" interview. In that one short interview you can see her do several things. When posing for pictures with Steven she grabs his braided tail and tugs on it and then takes the end of it and brushes it on his face. Then she goes and rubs Raymond Wong's bald head. While we are on the subject of interviewing, she doesn't seem to be very bright/clever...almost airhead like. She takes too long to answer and comment, with pauses, and stuttering. Not only that but when she can't really answer something she just laughs. Her answers don't seem to be very insightful and they are just very bleh comments.

But to me, to be honest here, BoTa thread mainly focuses on their love of BoTa and it's fairly rare you see a mention of some other couple. You've managed to pick out two comments about Boscolie but in the bigger picture BoTa thread (believe me) is quite polite in comparison to *ahem* the Charray thread. BoTa is like the second best couple thread thus far I've been to so it was a shock if you say they are rude.

I love Tavia Yeung-NOT!!!! I don't get how she's under promoted when I see a lot of her dramas.

I use to like Tavia when she was very young like in Whatever it takes but then I disliked her because her acting was annoying and it wasn't even outstanding. There wasn't anything special about Tavia until Heart of Greed where I started liking her again.

Acting- Yeah I'm sure she can improve I mean she is improving just now but I would like to see more different roles from her. Something that is surprising.

Crying - Her crying seems to be the same all the time. Emm maybe cry in a different way.

Looks - I think she is prettier now than before

Fans - That's the reason why I don't dislike her. Her fans are just like her - nice.

Pairing - Hmm Tavia goes with everyone but I don't feel that she is the best for any of them.

Personally I think that Tavia can become the next Maggie Cheung (top actress) if she continues to work hardd.

mi 2 mi fellow .I hate her for many reasons.
1.Herself:She is crokii and aggorant.I'm sure since I met her.And look what she shows off:love money,take all free thing greedy,wants boys give her 100carat diamond rings,goes out with rich guys onii,etc.
2.Her acting suckii!Her face is the same through all of her series .Can't see the feeling in her crying scenes.Even Michelle Ye can do better than her.
3.Her fans:the same as her-aggorant.They attack everyone,every other artists that "steal spotlight" of Tavia Yeung Yi,such as Fala Chen in TVB 40th Ceremony,then act like they are so fair or something like that .Make mi vomit.
4.The way she treats people:she always runs to all hottii guys to take some spotlight,such as touch Steven's head,hug my Ronnie,etc.She does that just to make the cameras focus on her.Cheap!

I admit that I hate her,truly hate her-that horse face!I liked her a bit when she was a newbie,but after met her and see her fans' actions,now she is in my top hated!

She is alright because she worked her way from the bottom and she came from a long way. Her crying scene is good. I believe she could only handle like 2nd lead roles, but at least her acting is improving.

WOW the haters are out in force!!! lol! being a hater of Linda and Charmaine I understand how the haters feel about hating a celebrity....you know what, I won't even try to be defensive upon Tavia because I guess there needs to be some sort of balance, and seriously, you can't please everyone in this world....that goes for every one of us!!!

I think that's a reason of why at least one person hates Tavia...they are Ron's fan and Ron loves to hang around Tavia as evident in the TaRo thread and Ron's constant comments regarding Tavia~ esp wanting to retire in Canada with Tavia as his neighbour.

I used to be okay towards her but now I'm seriously starting to dislike her! Sometimes her fans annoys me too When I see her in interviews, she does seem like she wants to get attention. She also seems kind of fake to me.

Well, I guess you're right since most people hate Tavia b/c some of fans bash their favorite. For example, Linda. I'm not trying to defend Tavia's fans, but I think it's reasonable because we just hate the fact that Tavia is treated unfairly by TVB and especially newbiew and untalented actresses are way being promoted thus, we're voicing out our opinions. But I guess I'm going refrain myself from do that b/c I honestly don't want people to hate Tavia b/c of us.

Anyway, I never Tavia in real life, but I just don't think she is fake or wanting attention. She is a friendly person. she talks to everyone and she's laughing with everybody, doesn't matter who that person is.

I support Tavia b/c she's one of those underrated actresses, not promoted or favored by TVB b/c she's Miss Paegant or whatever, but she's recognized by her acting and look.

I do dislike Tavia Yeung. Not just because of her fans but there's just something I don't like about her...
