I'm new to AF, but few day reading the HK entertaiment forum majority of the topic is abt Raymond, Bosco & Ron !!!

That really have me thinking, is there no other actor worth mentioning ?!?! '


What so great abt them: -

Is their acting skill really that great ?

Are they really that good looking ?

Is Raymond singing talent that great either - have he won any award or release an album?

well for tvb....they have lots of good actor.....but just that....they are not famost yet....also when they become famost.....they will be more expensive la.....so i think.....they try not to promote some of the good actor la!!!

I think TVB is highly promoting them 3 because in most of the coming series you are bound to find one of them in it, but they are quite good and quite young in age, they will be in TVB for many years to come.

of course ron is good. raymond acting isn't too bad also. in the future especially this year and coming year. we'll be seeing them acting in alot of series. so stay tone for their show to be release.

That's true, ever since Triumph in the skies. S4 (ron.sammuel,bosco,kenneth) and otehr such as Raymond, michelle, myolie, nancy and Leila are like everywhere... And so many topics about who matchs who etc......

But like they are deffinately better than them bunch of actors/actress from 'Hearts of Fencing'.

they're not promoting for nothing, Ray, Tavia, Leila, Bosco n Myolie are considered as the futur of TVB. of course TVB has better actors like Jessica, Ada, Kenix, Bobby, Roger but they're already veterans n like by the audience.

Totally agree with you, Raymond , Tavia , Bosco and Myolie are really TVB's future. And they are already good in my opinion.

It really doesn't take that much money to train a new TVB actor... takes like 1 month to learn how to act. TVB is just desperate for some good looking actors. No offense but HK is a small place.

i dont know about the others but Raymond is a very talanted actor and bosco and smmul is good as well ron still needs improvement... '

i like rays song for the last breakthorugh the best~! he's a really good singer~! you should see him sing live!!! um... dont know if he won any awards... and no, he currently does not have his own album... we can only hope he comes out with one if the future

yeh...I've got to admit that's kinda true even though I love Ron! Raymond's singing is pretty gd + his acting is cool. Ron's a better actor than singer though. But people like Sammul etc. and starting to some in a little bit.

i'm glad that tvb has been promoting ron ng alot lately. i hope they'll forever be doing this. i don't know what to do without ron's series. i don' t really enjoy re-running the series again. it gets kind of boring. i hope someday or pretty soon ron will be winning the best actor award and most improvement award. cause he really deserve them. he has improve alot since day one he entered to tvb.

At the moment TVB has three categories of stars: the new generation like Ron and Bosco, the returning stars like Michael tao and Sunny Chan and the A-lister stars like Roger and Bobby.

It makes the most sense to give promotion and opportunities to the new generation. TVB needs new male idols quickly to replenish the dwindling talent pool therefore the new generation is heavily pioritised. Expect to see even more of them in the coming months and years.

raymond is a good actor, and bosco in WOIL was not bad. i only like ron in twin brother.

yup ever since TITS, the S4 have just grown in popularity! so of course tvb would want to continue to promote them! bosco especially after WOIL has so much attention now - but good for him because he was really great in that! i became a fan!

i totally agree with you....i believe that tvb wont just go around and promote anyone...there has to be a reason...and i think that bosco and ray have really good acting skills....i think out of the newest people they are one of the best people...ron is alright...he just needs more acting experience...but many people think he's really hot....so for your question about whether he's hot or not...i'd have to say he is.....

and like selina4ever said...they are promoting these new actors for the future for tvb....when the ventrens retire or don't want to do sires anymore....

i agree that they are trying to promote these rising stars...but isn't it goin abit to overboard? because i think i see too much of them in most drama...and it kinda gets boring with the same people over and over again

i guess tvb is just trying to promote new stars..
the older actors will leave tvb sooner or later.. so they need new people to replace them when they leave =)
but it is true that they're kind of over-promoting those few people like myolie.. which is bad cause it makes audience get bored of them quickly..

Yeah their acting is good but I don't know why they don't promote Sammul he's had enough acting experience and one of the best acting from the newest actors.

Raymond lovers don't like Ron cause he gets so much popularity hehe even in the children music awards hehehe

All new actors have to build a stable ground and then TVB will promote new actors. Promoting a actor is easy,but majority acceptance is very difficult and building a stable ground is even more difficult. I guess for the time being, we will be seeing these actors more longer.

because they're all cute and have good acting skills plus the other ppl are getting old they need a rest. it is true though. and they're like more heat and stuff they have a lot of fans so we'll be seeing them for a while till someone cute and have good acting skills comes in tvb then we'll start seeing someone new. but rite now no new ppl can beat him

well, like a few people said already, they're the future TVB...also it's because it's TVB---it's a business. So in some cases, whoever is liked by the Hong Kong audience is the person who gets promoted. I mean, if they're trying to earn money, but the audience doesn't really care, then they won't earn anything...then waht would be the point in promoting that person?

in these last series we c raymond and especially ron 2 much and it will not bother us if they disappear for a while!! but it deosn't mean dat they can't act it's just dat we are fed up with them

tvb has more young actor, but they are not getting the chance to get a roll in the series... some of them is pretty cute and handsome... but maybe it cost to much too make so many new actors famous

They are all actually really good, its just who catches the eyes of the audience... I mean look at all the fans of Bosco, Ron and Raymond. Everybody else is just pushed aside. Honestly other talented actors cant even sneak an act. But, nonetheless these three are pretty good, but still have flaws.

Yeah, that's truth.... Sometimes I really feel boring that they acting in every TVB's drama series. Luckily, Sammul didn't act in Revolving Doors Of Vengeance.

I think Raymond and Bosco have good acting skill. Ron is good looking but still needs to improve on his acting skill.

Look actually doesn't matter that much for me, as long as they have this aura.

Actually, I would like to see more of Jack Wu. He impressed me in Net Deception. And he is quite versatile considering The Gateau Affairs and Not Just A Pretty Face.

I think Harwick Lau is a bit underrated. His acting and look is not bad. I like his performance in My Family.

i think ron and raymond really good in actiing... really a superstar in tvb right now... raymond voice is really very nice in singing ...

I think they have a youth contract at TVB, so they are very cheap.

Personally i like to Gallen Loo to make some new series.

i personnally found that raymond bosco and ron are so cuteeeee that i have to see one of them in each serieslolll but i wanna see a new series with gallen lo too and roger kwok and jessica hester hsuan tooo

the girls are crazed about ron ng because of his looks but i honestly dont think his acting is all that good

well, Raymond is not trying to act cool and besides, people ASSUME that he's trying to look like Louis when I think he's trying to have his own personality and character. Besides, I don't see the similarity between both of them, besides the skin colour part and ron is tanned as well, although everyone CLAIMS that they are look-a-likes.Raymond can sing. for louis, I'm not so sure.

Bosco is childish, that is what makes him cute. TVB has too many old actors to act cute or be childish. Bosco is the perfect candidate. Besides, he is cute. Ask someone like ron to act childish and I'll laugh my pants off.

I totally agree with the ron part. Although he is improving, but not as fast as Ron or Bosco. Sometimes he doesn't show enough emotion and becomes all wood.

And most importantly, I agree with the other people that TVB won't just waste their money promoting someone who has no future and won't become famous no matter how u promote him. And it's high time they cam up with a new generation, we all have to keep up with times right? And lastly, they have what the other actors don't have. They are YOUNG. and have charm.

i know tvb is promoting the 3 and everything .. but it's going a lil overboard .. their like in almost all the new series .. i'm especially sick of Ron .. he'se in so much series now and all his acting is all so emotionless O.O .. but he's alright i guess >< i personally like bosco and raymond better o.O

Well lets just see rays excellent in althletics,acting,singing and stuff bosco dont no that m,uch bout him and ron hes good at athletics,and he got the looks but btw RON ND RAY ROX!

there's sammul chan, but i haven't never seen him playing the main character expect for the one he parntered with ron.

I do think that they over use the guys a little I like them of course, they are good actors and actresses, and do play with a little variety.. but its them all the time i do hope they find others to promote

ANd as for girls, u left out Linda Chung and Shirley Yeung

i guess they are they new "IT" for now....they are all cute....altho ron's acting isn't as great and raymond's or kevin's.....it doesn't reallie matter to tvb as long as they have plenty of fans

how old are these guys, like 20-25? I assume Raymond is the oldest and Ron is the youngest?

I think Bosco, Ron, Raymond and Sammul are the 4 newest actors while Myolie Wu, Michelle Yip, Tavia Yeung are some of the newest actress in TVB. Some of them may have been in TVB longer than anyone else but I think TVB is promoting these artists though.
Last time, they used to promote Sonijia Kwok and Charmaine Sheh. I remembered Charmaine Sheh was highly promoted and she appeared in some major SERIES in TVB.

Ya most of new series will have mostly ron ng and raymond... i think tvb trying reali hard to promote them because they are new artiste and pretty popular as well for now..... maybe they trying to make into mega stars

hmm.... promoting new actors and actress is definitely a must as the current characters sooner or later will be retired from the movie industry, therefore before the current characters pull out or retire, they need to find new faces to help TVB stay competitive.

ron is older than raymond and raymond is older than bosco...

Ron(Sept) and Raymond(Dec) are 26 this year and Bosco will be 26 next year.
