omg! i'm so glad i'm not alone! i'm exactly like you. LOL! my husband can only smile helplessly at my crazy behaviour. LOL! my 2 friends (one dated a korean and one lived in korea) would agree with you. they tell me it's just a fantasy that the guys are so sweet in the dramas. LOL! and truly i haven't seen a cute korean guy in real-life either (i have korean neighbours and etc) ... but i think it's ok lah, go to korea, try to spot hyun bin, and see the scenery (i think the korean scenery is quite nice in autumn and winter) anyway, hyun bin seems really nice and sweet in the interviews, so maybe he's the exception. LOL! i'd like to think that he's really special.

maybe it's just a matter of culture ... they could make good boyfriends if you are used to it/ready for it ... and ofcourse there are exceptions ... not all koreans will be exactly the same i guess. it's just that if you compare my husband with a typical korean husband, you'd think my husband really dotes on me and spoils me but to me it's a natural thing so i guess i'm not used to having a korean thinking, culture and style of living (in real-life, not drama ... i don't mind having drama korean boyfriend too! Receives love call from “I’m sorry I Love You”’s producer & “Winter Sonata”’s writer…lead in KBS2 new mini-series, “Snow Queen”.

Young star Hyun Bin is poised to become the next generation’s top Korean wave star as he prepares for his next role in the new KBS2 mini-series, by the producers of “I’m sorry I love you” and the writers of “Winter Sonata”. He has been chosen as the male lead in the planned November KBS2 drama, “Snow Queen”.

A rep from KBS confirmed HB’s participation, saying that all details have been worked out and only the contract needs to be signed. It is expected that all formalities will be completed before the 9th.

His image in the new drama will be very different from his high class image in his previous drama, “My Name is Kim SamSoon”. While he has brains, his character is a complete outsider who does not like interacting with society. He works odd jobs at a boxing gym to make a living, wasting away his talent and his life. But then he meets a woman who is the ultimate pessimist, falls in love, and changes his life around. Their love will be cast against the backdrop of lovely snow-covered scenery, making it seem that much more exalted/rare.

After finishing the 2004 MBC drama, “Ireland”, it was reported that HB would do two more MBC dramas, so it comes as a bit of a surprise that he has chosen to do “Snow Queen”. There is worry that this might be another situation similar to the Choi Jin-Shil situation with KBS 2TV’s “My Rosy Life”. Especially since HB reported when considering doing MBC’s September mini-series, “What Are You Doing Fox?” that he would definitely do another MBC drama. A high ranking MBC official said, “While HB is still in contract with MBC, he cannot work with other broadcasting companies. We are looking to take legal action.”

In regards to this, a spokesperson from “Snow Queen” reported, “As far as I know, it’s allowed for one to participate in dramas with other broadcasting companies while under contract with another. We’re hoping to gain cooperation and understanding from MBC and have things proceed smoothly with Hyun Bin’s casting.”

The storyline ridiculous & a bit draggy in the first few episodes...
