Jacky hasn't had any leading roles yet. He's basically guest starred on the various idol dramas his group-mates are in. The closest he's been to actually participating in a drama was 'Hi-Fly' co-starring Benny Chan. He was a supporting actor.

Let's see...Johnny was one of the male leads in MVP Valentine and Ming Dao had Le Robe and now Prince...Shao Wei has been supporting up until now where he shares male lead with Ming Dao SO Jacky and Ehlo are the only ones who have yet to really have a starring role in a drama. Of course, their time will come since 183 Club is HOT right now in Taiwan!

they do make quiet a good couple, jacky and wei ru... not big of a difference in age either.
i don't have anything againts johnny.. just think acting would really bring out how i think towards them, so if he does act as couples with one of 7F... i might decide than.

For starter's, his build is unlike anything you'll see on native Taiwanese-- including Sam, cause even though shaowei is really built, it's not the way Jacky is...

According to Jacky's biography, I would assume that he's been in Taiwan for quite awhile. At least 4-5 years. Especially since if his parents DO have some kind of store in Taiwan that's doing fairly well, he'll have to have been here for sometime. Some ABCs are quite good at Mandarin to begin with, especially if you speak it all the time at home. For starters, I have Taiwanese friends that always compliment me on my Chinese, and when we first meet, they always assume I'm straight from Taiwan, that I'm not an ABC.
So, he's probably had some pretty good practice with his mando, added onto the fact that he's been in Taiwan for at least 4 years... and well... there ya go!
I would assume Jacky lived in Canada for most of his life-- but since it doesn't look like he went to college, maybe he moved to Taiwan when he was around 18-20ish. As for celebs with bad Chinese, maybe it's Ambrose Hsu, whose Mandarin is the WORST because he's actual a canto star but he's been in a few twdramas. So he has a thick American/Canto accented Mandarin.

I believe Jacky headed back to Taiwan around late '99 or early '00. He was already in college when he took part the singing competition w/ Elva Hsiao (i think) and I guess producers spotted him so he headed back to Taiwan to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. He did some modelling and CFs and an MV. His family produces motorcycles if I'm not mistaken so he's fairly affluent. His older brother was already in the business. Jacky's definitely fluent in mandarin and I believe he also speaks cantonese.
I'm an ABC and people are shocked when they hear me speak cantonese and/or mandarin since I don't have an accent. You guys should hear some of my older cousins speak chinese..LOL!
Ambrose Hsu's mandarin was pretty bad in Lavender but there was improvement in Dolphin Bay. I havent seen him in anything since Dolphin so I don't know if's it better now. Isn't he making a new drama w/ Tammy Chen?

Jacky's really good in Mandarin. Ambrose's mandarin was miserable in Lavender. It got marginally better in Dolphin Bay..but not by very much. At least in Dolphin Bay, Ambrose didn't have to resort to using English when he wanted to yell at other people ^^
I don't really keep up with Ambrose, so iono anything about a new drama...

there's quite a few celebs in taiwan that actually have a not so good mandarin..
li wei lian for example.. his mandarin is bad.. i can actually make out that his mando is not so good.. make it harder for a non-mando speaker for me to actually understand whats he's on about.
for ambrose, i didnt really notice it.. maybe because I got an indo sub for that so I dont have to keep trying to listen while watching it.. ehheh~

oh i agree.... le wei lian's mandarin is horrible. i have to read subtitles when he talks. he has a really thick accent. but since i'm an ABC i wonder if my mando sounds that bad. cause i cantonese so my mando isn't that great.
but i think jacky has pretty good mandarin... i mean like its tolerable on the ears. hahaha

Haha Cindy. I hope that Jacky would speak perfect English. He was born and raised in Canada!
I for one, think Jacky is attractive, but his jawline annoys me. I guess being an ABC, I'm really spoiled when it comes to teeth, and a lot of Taiwanese stars irritate me because they don't have perfect teeth. oops. hehe. Anyways, Jacky has an underbite. That is his lower jaw actually protrudes over his upper jaw. He should've had this corrected, but obviously he hasn't had maxillofacial (that is jawline) surgery to correct his underbite. I think that someone should tell him. It's actually very very unhealthy to have an underbite. His teeth are very straight though, but there's only so much you can do without getting actual surgery.

OH I TOTALLY AGREE NANSHI~!!! if he didn't have that underbite i would like him more. i'm an ABC too and it irriates me to see crooked/messed up teeth. wasn't he pretty well off before entering the entertainment industry? so I don't think money was a problem.

Anyways... I know that his family is rich in Taiwan (they own some kinda motorcycle/bike shop and everyone in Jungiery always teases him about having a lot of money) but iono about before he went to Taiwan. A lot of asian parents don't see it completely necessary to get that kind of surgery done, it's mostly cosmetic, like braces are. I guess if your orthodontist/dentist didn't recommend it, than you wouldn't really consider it. Although for health reasons, I do think that Jacky should get that issue checked out. Something about your jaw not aligning right could completely throw off your teeth and you could have major complications with chewing and eating and talking later in life....

if he does get it adjusted/fixed... if it is like braces.. than it'll take prob 2 years or so..
doesn't it change the sound of ur voice, because when u pronouce it.. it's not that proper?

zong yi da ge da is this variety show hosted by fei ge, huang pin yuan and nie yun...last time kang kang was also one of the hosts...but duno y he's not anymore..anyway..every week there will be singers artistes as special guests to attend the show...then they will perform lo..depends on wat they wan to perform...maybe smth special not like the usual things that they normally do...just sing...they will put up a more special show kind of thing...so remb to watch this sun if u r from spore at chU!!

I didn't really notice about Jacky's teeth and jaw before. If you guys didn't mention it about his underbite, I would have not noticed. So after that, I paid a lil more attention to Jacky and I did get what you guys are saying. Nonetheless, he looks fine. I like Jacky b/c he got a great voice and his English gives me goosebumps (in a good way haha). Still remember him saying "Vancouver." mmmm

i don't think he is fluent in cantonese. but i think since he is from vancouver (since there are more cantonese speakers there) and i think he went to HK for some singing competition... he has better cantonese then the others. but i'm not sure... just a guess. hahah

Jacky has a great voice and he's cute too. It would be so funny one of these days if while 7F and 183 Club are singing Jacky takes Qiao En's hand and leads her away from Ming Dao. LOL Like he was cute what he did during the KISS Radio performance.
Jacky and Qiao En are sorta cute together too. I was watching a making of the Hao Ai Ta Hao Xiang Ta song and while they were recording their parts together, Jacky and Qiao En were holding hands.

If only we would do something about the jawline but it think he did have a surgery already but he was able to fix a lilttle of his jawline.

lol, i just realized that jacky's the contestant i rooted for back in his first singing contest...i remember telling my dad that he was gona make it big someday...wow, never thought i'd c him again. i always thought that he was good looking^^ good for him for fnly making it!
