I agree with you mingde i think the road back could be quite difficult for jacky He did make a very nice apology to his family and fans on his blogg when he got out of rehab but i agree i think he should briefly do so again and do everything he can to show the public and the tabloids he has reformed Some of the newspapers in taiwan can be quite vicious

He updated his blogg and i asked my friend EW to translate and this is what she said:

^^ Visited his blog to read the original message. Basically, he says that there was a problem with the filming studio for one of the shows (his Chinese is so unclear... either the SOUND for the filming studio was bad OR the filming studio of the MUSIC show was problematic). Anyway, so filming ("tong gao" = "notice for a taping or event," btw) has been delayed... but he'll let us know the new date later. And then he thanks us for our support

And his English isn't any better (aka the writing) but then again, great that he actually takes time to write us. (So I should stop being ungrateful, lol)

yes i think he is definitely dead serious on making a comeback to music .. i mean, we can tell that he loves singing so much .. he was so dedicated ..so engrossed .. his singing moved people ...he sings so damn well .. he is just meant to sing ... and even if there is a little corner at his wine bar for singing it would NOT be the same .. his singing is meant for a bigger crowd ..

My friend EW has had a go to translating the article. Here's the gist of it:

As an idol singer jacky was sacked by his manager just because he made one big mistake. From very young the relationship between Jacky and his father it was nearly zero and now it is even worse. In the rehab centre every time his mother visited him she cried but he couldn't his father's forgiveness but his father did visit him once. In the centre the visitors and the inmates couldnt touch--there was a glass partition The feeling when they looked at each other but couldnt touch made him finally realise what he lost

Sudden Rise to Fame Just a Bubble

When Jacky was in 183 Club was his most popular time. he went to HK and mainland China and his career also suddenly went from the ground to the sky. But now the taste is like a bubble . When he tested postive for marijuana use, he had to spend 50 days in a rehab centre.

Jacky said, "I and another drug addict were put in one small space, eating and sleeping on the ground, and I couldnt sleep at night from tossing and turning. At the beginning of my career I wasnt that popular then after through very hard work I was famous on the stage. It's like a wave, up and down. My hope is lit is like a movie one scene at a time flashing in front of me."

Father Sad about His Taking Drugs

But in real life it will be different from a movie. but he felt sad to the core, 100% sad, once he got into the rehab centre and lay on the floor and he had a backbone infection that made it very difficult for him to lie on the floor but the most pain was his Mum's tears. She would always cry coming in and cry going out.

Jacky's parents were busy with their businesses after he was born then they sent him to a babysitter in Gaoxiong Fengshan Once he got in school he was sent to Canada to study. The relationship between him and his family was very distant even when he got into his career, even when he became successful, the relationship between him and his father was still not warm [literally: the eyes still couldnt melt]. Over the issue of his taking drugs, his father was angry and sad, and he thought his son was not a successful person and made his family lose face. The biggest pain for Jacky was he couldnt get his family's forgiveness.

Big brother's big heart made Jacky's tears pour forth

After Jacky got out of rehab Jacky went back home and his big brother went to him and gave him a big hug and a pat and said, 'Finally you've come back!" So Jacky felt his family's warmth. jacky cried and couldnt talk. Finally he found the things he had lost.
Nowadays Jk is living together with his family and is ready to start up his career again. If his father will forgive him or not, the emotion on Jks face is hard to work out the answer. 'Now its time to do something by myself but its hard work. I really, really dont want to disappoint Daddy.'

I like the whole report …so proud of him .. not for his mistake but his COURAGE to reveal to the press how badly his family were affected .. like how his father ‘nearly killed him’ and still not quite sure whether his father had forgiven him and how his mother “always cry coming in and cry going out” each time she visited him at the rehab. So sad. I am also glad he did not blame his manager for being petty for sacking him phew* coz if he do that others especially people in the entertainment industry are going to look at him in a certain way. You can’t right a wrong and vice versa. Anyway hope he truly repent and be more responsible towards his family, 183club members AND his fans! . Go jacky!

Hi Jacky fans, anyone has any idea what Jacky is doing nowadays? the thread seems quite forgotten, maybe because Jacky isnt having any new updates?

Anyway, for the past few days I've been searching on youtube the recent episodes of kang xi lai le, which was the show jacky when for filming (taping) on one of the days. But I cant seem to find it, unfortunately.

I'm not sure that Jacky ever got to record anything for those variety shows. The problem is his blogg is not all that informative I got the idea from Tammiests explanation that maybe he never got to record anything because of the technicle problems at the studio. On his blogg he said he would let us all know if he got another chance to record I imagine those studios are all heavily booked and it might take him awhile to get another date

yeah probably, they would have scheduled at least 10 episodes ahead. but what about kangxi? still no show lolzz Anyway come to think of it, the delay is just as well, since jacky hasn't make any public apology to his fans or ex colleagues yet, that Liberty Times article could be taken as his way of an apology. you know...i always thought that if Jacky is willing to apologise to everyone (including SDR) SDR will definitely forgive him, although that doesnt mean he'll definitely allow him to go back to 183. but SDR knows that Jacky is very important to 183 and he should be given a chance. I believe SDR is a wise man.

someone said jacky updated his blog - in chinese grrrr ... . said that after a year break he has finally return to the silver screen .. no other details given grrrr ..

Jacky did apologise on his blogg in december last year not long after he got out of rehab. Rachelabichen posted a translation on 7 December where he said he had done a lot of repenting and he said as a celeb he had let the fans down and he was supposed to bring hapiness and good music to people but instead had brought sadness

I think thats a very good apology and now i think he must just want to get on with singing at long last! I think SDR will never forgive him tho...

Huh! SDR would never reconsider. I'm with Vanadia on this one. It was a miracle that SDR decided to patch things up with Show Lo already. It would be way too much if he actually lets Jacky returns, considering how things had been. It doesn't matter. I think DTLCT is right. SDR always set very firm rules for the j stars and jacky was always breaking them They were supposed to try to stay out of the media but jacky was always getting caught and photos of him turning up in the tabloids

And he had developed a terible reputation for picking up girls in nightclubs and having one night stands with them And there was an article in the Taipei Times that said some of the girls and their families complained to SDR. Then there was the photo of jacky in HK putting sunblock on a girl's back and that photo was said to have 'provoked' SDR (frankly i didnt see anything wrong with the photo They were both wearing decent swimwear and if some guy was putting sunblock on his girlfriends back on an Aussie beach no one would look twice and they would think it was a good idea because we dont have much of an ozone layer and you can get skin cancer without sunblock)

And all this was before the drugs conviction!!

So i just think there is no going back and besides SDR would probably have to pay a lot of money to Jackys new management to release him to appear with 183 Club Wasnt there a rumour going around not long after Jacky got kicked out that the promoters of 183 Club's Hanoi concert wanted to pay really big bucks for Jacky to appear with 183 Club but SDR said no?

Im still a fan of jacky because i think he has grown up a lot and toned down his lifestyle and at the end of the day he can really sing! I hope something turns up on YouTube soon.

Regarding the thing w/ those girls' parents complaining to SDR or whatever, I think that it's NOT all Jacky's fault. Come on now! What are the girls going to pull? They're young and innocent and got lured in by him? It would take two. (But I guess him being a guy, they just want to put it all on him. ) I'm not saying what he did was right, but I'm just saying it doesn't make sense to blame it on just him.

And yes, SDR/ J-Star is strict with their management policy and Jacky probably doesn't like to be controlled so there's the whole conflict arising. I'm sure NOT all stars are pure and doesn't do anything wrong. They just don't get caught versus Jacky gets it. Once again, NOT trying to make excuses for Jacky. I'm just saying just because he got caught, he became the bad guy in the whole thing.

The whole sunblock thing is just ridiculous. Even my mom was saying how ridiculous it was and she's very traditional and strict regarding different matters. It wasn't like he got caught at the beach w/ some guy's wife. (Okay, bad example and going way off but you get the idea. The situation was exaggerated.)

jacky blogged again. it's a one liner so it's easy to figure using google translator. he said he got an invitation to a variety show (星光大到), i think it's like a friendly singing contest or something like that and he didnt know what to do and responded that he will think about it. He is asking his fans for their views on this.

i have read some fans responses and all of them encouraged him to go for it .

is jacky getting the jitters? poor guy hasnt been on stage for so long like he has forgotten how to sing lolz but he needs to start somewhere. some of you might want to post your views on his blog .

Err, I think poor Jacky misspelled the name of the show I think he meant 星光大道 Xing Guang Da Dao, short for 超級星光大道 [Chao Ji Xing Guang Da Dao] [One Million Stars]... currently the most famous and popular televised singing competition in Taiwan. (Sorry, I have to a little at his misspelling )

Anyways, I don't watch the show myself, but, from what I understand, they sometimes invite lesser-known singers to "PK" (err... meaning... "go against/head-to-head") on the show against the contestants. First season, they had Jam Hsiao JingTeng (who is now SUPER-popular) "PK" Aska Yang ZongWei. So this could be a big deal for Jacky, and I can see why he's nervous.

I think that, if his throat is feeling well-rested, he should go for it! Who knows? It could be the exposure he needs.

On the other hand he sings so well and has a proven track record in singing competitions so maybe he should go for it.

i guess it isnt about being established stars or not, but i think the PKs are for the contestants to know and learn from others who know how to sing very well, its the best against the best after all...

I actually think it's a good move for his career. He's "established" as a member of 183Club-- not as a solo artist; his vocals often "competed" with those of the other four members. (I personally think Jacky sounds better solo... on Gao Jie... than he does on the 183Club OST's and albums... but maybe that's just me.) Plus, if YouTube is any indication, a significant number of 183Club "fans" don't really know Ehlo, Jacky, or Johnny by name-- only by face-- or with the rest of the group. And let's not forget the sad reality that a lot of people in Taiwan actually really dislike J-Stars and so may have totally passed him by (and that's a huge shame).



Anyway, I THINK Jam Hsiao was actually unknown when he PK-ed on the show (he may not have even released an album yet)... but I may be wrong; I didn't follow the show. But from what I understand, his popularity shot way, way up as a result... so... yeah, I hope Jacky accepts. And that he blows the competition right out of the water!

Yeah...when jacky goes for the one million stars they'll definitely get the best contestant to pk with him [like jam against aska]...if jacky wins he can prove himself worthy to be back in the singing industry...its like a fresh start. agree that most people know jacky thru 183 rather than solo, so if he really goes for the pk people can better know and recognise him as an individual >< maybe his next solo album might even do as well as/better than jam!

if the show which tammiest mentioned 超級星光大道 [Chao Ji Xing Guang Da Dao] [One Million Stars] is the one jacky is invited to, then i would think jacky might feel a little awkward coz i thot that show are for young aspiring singers and they have a panel of judges there to give their comments. i mean, jacky is already a well-known singer, he had delivered good songs and performances, must he start from scratch and be judged again? oh no, this is too harsh, poor jacky . seriously i am not sure whether i am going to encourage jacky to go for it now.

It's not true that One Million Star don't have well known singers... A lot of them even have awards behind them, like I remember this contestant called Alicia or something and she had won contests before. And her singing really was awesome.
It's just that her fanbase wasn't in TW. Cuz the competition was elsewhere I think. And she sortof rose to popularity abit after One Million Star.
The more well-known ones won't go I think because if they lose, it's going to be ultra embarrassing for them and the judges can't even criticise their singing, they'll probably get bashed.

OMS is a good place to restart for Jacky, especially since he's singing's good. (Although OMS is losing popularity slowly)
It's not exactly a starting from scratch thing. And no matter how good a singer is, there can be room for improvement. Which he might discover through OMS.
It's a pretty big honor to be invited I think, cuz they really find great singers to PK their contestants.

If he can win one of the contestants that is viewed as a favorite (Which was the case for Jam Hsiao, he won Aska and Stanley Hsu), they might even invite him back a few times and that will really gain some attention from the audience.

OMS is aired in places like Singapore too so it helps let more people outside TW notice him too.
