Yup! He did a solo album before but it didn't turn out great so after a few years...tadah! He's now in 183.

He has a lot of solo parts in 183 songs listen to it carefully. He's the main lead singer of 183. And Yah! He's english is good because he's a CBC (Canadian Born Chinese)

and now i am thinking maybe a "jacky+coco chiang yi" pairing i think they really suit and Jacky picked coco out from all hte others when he was asked who he liked!!! and he was nice to coco to, he stuck up for her when bai xin hui said that her cocktail was flavouless he said it was just right!

jacky is 183/184 and coco is 178 so i think it is a really good pairing also in one of the clips jacky pass coco something without her even asking when she stood up and i dont think any of the hosts notced either i thought it was really sweet!

I watched that too! I agree with you alot. Jacky looks good with Coco and WeiRu. In that show, Jacky kept saying nice things about Coco and then Bai XinHui got 'jealous' hahaa.

And I also agree with tammiest. Jacky looks adorable when he's so boyish. So does Ming Dao. and Shao Wei. and Xing Shu. Yu Rong..I've never seen him act boyish. But back to Jacky. That picture of his tongue out with that chip is just too cute. And that clip of him with those balloons and his 'donald duck' voice because of all the helium and him getting so fascinated and excited about it is so cute also! ahh I love it when 183 gets so boyish and cute.

Hi! I heard that 183 club might be starring together in a new drama (with a police theme?) and that it looks like Ming Dao and Shao Wei won't be the leads. From what I can see, this has caused a lot of speculation about whether Jacky or Yu Rong will be the leads. Does anyone know what Jacky's role will be yet?

Like his looks and his voice. I think he is the best singer in 183 Club. And not to mention a nice body too.

There's no doubt Jacky's the best singer in 183 Club (though they're all pretty good, actually -- except Johnny, who's managed to lip sync his way through his entire singing career).

Oh my god! I thought I was like the only person in Australia who was a Jacky Chu addict! I love his smoky voice, especially when he opens songs. I really hope he gets a major role in a drama soon. I thought he was a totally hot villain when he palyed a gangster in Tianguo de jia yi.

jacky had a solo album before joining 183 club, right? i was listening to it, and its really really good!! all the songs are catchy and his voice is nice too. how well did his cd do when it first came out?

I don't know details about Jacky's role, but I'm fairly sure he will be the lead as I've read a couple of articles alluding to that.


I'm not sure of the numbers, but let's remember that he was dropped from his label and his contract after the first CD, so I think it's safe to say that, if not a flop, it certainly wasn't a hit.

It's seriously a pity because, in my opinion, the 183Club songs don't even begin to do Jacky's voice justice (probably because there are three members whose specialties aren't singing-- they have to accommodate them), and I always feel like his voice gets lost in the mix. It's also my opinion that 183Club's harmonies are NOT good live, even though they're not as complicated as, say, 5566's... but this also detracts from the performance overall. I have a feeling that a lot of people (non-J-Star fans) dismiss Jacky simply because of that...

I was doing some searching on the net and it looks like VJ-James also released a solo album a few years ago. I haven't heard the album but I remember his voice from 'Not brave enough' on the WZBQW OST when he sang with Victor. I think he sounds pretty good as well, though not as good as Jacky (my friend says he sounds like Jacky with a headcold!...not very nice).
