Is Hi-Fly actually a mainland series, then? It was airing in Taipei again when I was there recently, and I also noticed that the actor who plays Gary in Hi-Fly was one of the resistance guys in 'Lust, Caution'.

Yea, Hi-Fly is actually a Mainland series. The guy Gary is the other pilot who kept going against Benny's character in there, right? (The one that Christine ended up with?) If that's him, I didn't notice him much. It would have been much, much better if they let Jacky be 2nd lead. I'm not saying that 'cause I'm obsessed with him 'cause it was terribly unbearable watching the scenes unfold and how boring that Gary guy is. It didn't help the plot move at all. I'm usually patient with series but this one is just testing my patient.

'Hong Jiu' has always been one of my favourites from Gao Jie, but the whole album is really excellent in my opinion (pity it didn't do well). Don't forget to scour youtube for the MVs to some of the tracks, everyone!

I love "Hong Jiu" too. I mean he with so much energy in it and you can feel the song even if you don't understand it. I also like "Wo Yao Ni". I agree. Can't believe it didn't do well, but I heard it has to do more with promo technique though. And I'm trying to hunt down for this CD right now (it's like impossible but still - not giving up).

Yes, he did get kicked out. He also said that in his blog too after he got out of rehab. (The entry that he asked for forgiveness. I think Vanadia or someone translated the entry - scroll back up or go back a page or so to read it.) And I'm not sure if Johnny's still in, but from the latest news article, looks like he left to go back to basketball or something. Not totally sure. tammiest would be a good candidate to hunt down ask for such info. So the ones that are still intact are Ming Dao, Ehlo, and Sam. 183 Club isn't the same, but they still have Ehlo to sing! (That is IF you think he can sing! LOL! And don't mean it in mock since I love his voice too and think he sings really well, but some people might not think so.)

when i was in taipei recently my friend and i saw johnny from 183 club on a cable sports channel i think it was ESPN He was wearing a smart suit and was doing basketball comentary

yes jacky definitely got kicked out At first it was said to be over his wild lifestyle in general and artistic differences with sun de rong the j-stars manager But just as DTLCT said once he got out of rehab he admited on his blog that it was the marijuana charges that got him kicked out of the j-stars

he sounds very serious about staying off drugs and trying to make a comeback and i personly think he deserves a second chance

I miss seeing Jacky with the J-stars / 183 CLUB. I wish Sun Zhong would just realize that 183 needs him back! His vocals are sooo good, and match perfectly with MingDao, ShaoWei, and YuRong. (Must be awkward that his brother is still in J-stars..)

Whew, I really have not posted in Jacky's thread for ages and ages... but there just haven't been any official news updates on him Hope he's doing well... I don't suppose there have been any new blog entries for us to dissect?

I've been watching some old (classic!) WQYL and SNTGD episodes... really made me miss Jacky. You know, even if he WERE actually a bit of a ladies' man, he's just... really gentlemanly. Maybe it's his Western upbringing... or maybe he's just that way. I've noticed that he's always quietly helping the girls (on SNTGD, of 7Flowers). Like... during last year (2007)'s WQYL CNY Specials... when he drank QE's punishment drink for her. Or... when he guested on XNDZC and wiped QE's mouth for her. And other such things...

He was also a really great athlete. Haha, I watched this one SNTGD where they all had to do "high jumps"... I think he went 10 cm higher than all the other guys... and still made it. And then, for the J-Star Olympics, he also jumped through a lot of those "foam" ringboards. Which brings me to my good news I have uploaded all three episodes of the J-Star Olympics for direct download here (accessible to AF-members and above ONLY). Totally recommend getting it...

hello everyone my work colleague JT has provided a translation of Alice183s post of 20 March

In february Jacky was involved in a friendly basketball competition at Taipeis Badelu Basketball Centre with some other celebrities including wu zun, cheng jian zhou niknamed the Black Man and Pam wei bo. Wu zun is going to sing on the soundtrack of the new sports drama series originaly called Flaming Basketballs.

Wu zun used to represent brunei in basketball. When he was playing basketball he got a big tatoo on his right arm. He certainly played very well and got all the applause.
During halftime Wu did not want to rest he kept practising and showing off. Pam wei bo went back to the locker room to change because he didnt want to show his physique to the spectators.
jacky said he was hit by the Black Man before when he was playing basketball. cheng admits he plays very rough and always makes his teammates unhappy because of his rough play Jk siad five years before when he was playing basketball against cheng Cheng hit him in the face. JK got very angry and ended his friendship with cheng for awhile everyone tries to tell cheng not to play that way because it is not really a profesional competition
cheng had organised the competition he wants two more celebs to join the team that already has himslef, jacky and wu zun on it
the two players he wants are yan chen xu and luo zhi xiang they are hoping to have a competition with celbrities from mainland china and another celebrity team from hk'

about listening to Gao Jie, i meant the whole album not just the title track that is also called gao jie I have some of the songs on my Ipod so i have listened to them alot tho i havent really counted how many times lol

i like the title track gao jie even if it is old fashion and corny It is very hard to sing. Jackys brother had trouble with the high notes when he was on Super Idol But what a nice brother to show so much loyalty

At the moment my favourite track on Gao Jie is the one about red wine JK sings that with so much feeling

hope he makes a comeback i realy like his singing On his blogg he asked the fans to be patient

STOP PICKING ON JAMES' SINGING! Just kidding! (Don't beat me up!) But I know what you mean. Actually, I stumbled upon another dude who was singing Jacky's Gao Jie song too and he was a lot worse than James. I'll post it up later when I get home since at work right now and can't be seen on Youtube.

i dont hate James singing. I even have that VJ track from The Prince Who Turned into a Frog soundtrack on my IPod! James sounds a lot like jacky in the low notes but he doesnt have that strong qualty in the higher notes I am not picking on him I am just giving my opionion James seems like a loyal and caring brother though

i wish jacky would record something i am not famous for my patience either ROFL
