Untraceable Evidence II(Funny part is the Female Lead which is Flora Chan is his cousin and he actually started out earlier than her but never got really famous even though he can sing and act. Poor guy, got ok looks, have great singing, and actin skills but just didn't or never had the luck like others. Feel sorry for him. Hopefully he's still acting. Notice him for the first time in a very old comedy drama with Bobby and Roger Kwok with Bobby as a Choi Sun(God of Money). He had to play the bad and he did a really good job as it too. I hated him in that role, that character was so not likeable, especially the why he acted all great like he was all that. But still now that I'm older I found out that he is a great actor/singer after listening to the ATV Themesongs Album and found that he was actually a singer. Wondering right now when his big break would come, it's not like he isn't goodlooking or doesn't have the talent? Then again many ATV actors had the talent and never got really famous for example Crystal Tin(man that girl can sure sing and sing really high notes too, better then all those new singers and maybe even better than alot of the singers right now).

ATV Series Anything But Him

Anything But Him(ATV Series starring Amy Chan, about three women, ring any bells?) He was the guy who liked an older women. Think it was available for download over here in asianfanatics, great series but the ending sure was horrible since they never told us whether Kenneth Chan Kai Tai died or not, they sure daydream alot in that series but definitely recommend this series not boring at all) Very entertaining indeed. That was when I started to like (not in a fan kind of way) but just changed my mind about him, even started to like him but then I never have seen him ever since, guess he left ATV, should've stayed eventhough ATV is horrible in promotion at least he would still be on the tv and might even be promoted and treated really well like how Kenneth Chan and Chan Chin Pang is right now. Hoi Chun Kit's character in Anything But Him was completely likeable and as a guy who liked an older women was just plain sweet and admirable.

Wonder where he is and what he's doing right now, anyone know?

More info(not very recent though)

Gabriel grew up in HK but moved to Massachusetts when he was 17 years old with his parents – a Chinese mother and a father who is half-British (and I believe half-Chinese). He had some singing talent and was able to win a talent contest in NYC and with this under his belt moved back to HK. He then won a similar contest for TVB and was soon doing TV and then some films.

Some films of his are Lord of Amusement, Temptation of an Angel, King of Debt Collecting, Game of No Rule and Model from Hell. Not exactly classics! But he also recently got a role in the very popular summer romantic comedy from Johnnie To – Needing You (as Kinki’s unappreciative boyfriend)

I love Gabriel! He's so cute! Although he doesn't get any good roles I still like him. He can sing and act. I especially love him when he was in DIF lll. He's Flora's cousin? I didn't know that. I dunno why no one notcies him. His english isn't bad either.

He's also in the soccer series with Dicky. I forgot what it's called.

Really thankyou so much been wanting to download his album. So he was in that soccer series with Dicky, man I knew I should watched that series, hopefully my aunt still has that series cause my parents didn't record it. Yea he's acutally pretty cute, started to like him in Anything But Him. Really hope he can film more series for ATV, I'm sure they'll charish since his role in Anything But Him was actually pretty big. He's a really good singer. First noticed him in DIF3 as Michael Tao's young brother, he was cute in there too, pretty good performance for a newcomer back then. Would rather see him then alot of newcomers TVB's promoting right now.

hmm, not sure just heard it from the HK discussion forum. Not really obsessed with him but really like his singing though, too bad he doesn't film for ATV/TVB anymore. Just decided to create this forum for him since he doesn't have one over here. Kind of hard to find his info. But really comparing him with alot of the new comers right now, I would rather watch him then them. Hopefully he'll get his big break in the future. Many older actors/actresses of TVB are waiting for the same thing right now.

yea I guess so, might rewatch Anything But Him again since it's been a while now. Good thing is he still looks pretty young can pass as someone whose twenty something when he dresses young. I remember seeing him in a movie and he looked so different from his character in Anything But Him.

He is very handsome but his popularity is not there. Suprisingly last time TVB did not really promote him. Wat a waste of talent!!!

seriously..i get wat u mean...some actors which have everything to be popular..eg looks, good voice and great acting skills..yet TVB don't promote them!! but they have to promote others don't they..its annoying sometimes but i guess its their lost

In TVB they give very low salary and expect 100% of work from u. When u want to have some salary increment, they will start their old tactic--Froze the actor or actress or probably give very small role to them. Its really not fair for those actors and actresses. The worst things is that they don't hv the opportunity to voice out.All is control by TVB. Its just a big cage for them instead of a big circle .Just hope their luck will get better or probably hope TVB will review their previous salary scheme.

I love Gabriel, I think he's very good looking and he's not a bad actor at all! too bad that he wasn't promoted or anything like that... I thought he was great in Chor Lau Heung, hehe.. I remember his role in there the best. so hot! and he was cute with Cheung Sin.. the girl who played Hung Chau in CLH. hehe

I firstly thought Gabriel is actually Kevin Cheng. Later when i saw their name only i can differentiate them. The both look very similar to me. They are both young and have the same feature of face.

yesterday i found an old tape and at the end of the tape it had a clip of a series he was in from an old k-100 show....cant remmeebr what it was called but i shall look it up later..it had roger kwok and jessica hsuan im guessing it was about 1998-1999 about police and gabriel had longish hair which was dyed to a blondie golden colour...

I remember that series, it's called Rural Hero. It's a cop series but kinda boring.

To me they are both handsome and cool. I think Kevin has better luck if to compare with Gabriel because TVB is now promoting Kevin. TVB never promote Gabriel when he was there so he was not really famous. That's the different in real life.

He played Michael Tao's half brother in Detective Investigation Files III.

I really liked him in the DIF III. He portrayed his character perfectly not to mention that he look really good in there with the jean jacket and backpack. I was actually trying to convince myself that it wasn't him when they were trying to figure out who the corpse belonged to and the clues came out one after another all matching his identity, that part was just so sad(that was how likeable his character was, you just couldn't dislike his character at all no matter what), I remember I felt really bad for the character cause he died because the murderer misunderstood and thought Gabriel had an affair with his wife and that the son wasn't his so he decided to have revenge and killed him. When you think about it his role was really likeable and was probably really noticeable during that time but too bad TVB again did not promote young actor until the time of Raymond came along when all the older acting were leaving. Seriously I think if Ron can rise to stardom with TITS rebellious role which wasn't even that likeable, Gabriel could have rised to stardom if DIF III was a series broadcasted during these two years. Well I guess it all comes down to luck and to be at the right place at the right time just same for winning awards too, you need luck plus right place and right time to win.

i first saw him in the series Stepping Stones, and then he in the series Working Women i think!

and of course Detective Files 3, his character didn't have a good ending in that, i think her was killed and got acid all over him to disfigure his appearance or something, i can't remember now it was so long ago!

DIF series was my favorite series and still is right now so that's why I remember it so clearly. Don't know why but I have a good memory of series after I've watched them only once that's why I really don't like watching a whole series again for the second time after only for a while unless the ending was really memorable and good like the ending for DIF IV I watched that so many times I don't even know how many. I've watched the ending for My Date With a Vampire III many times too cause the ending was so unique and cool and unpredictable. But that has nothing to do with this forum.

Something funny is that after I posted the message about wishing DIF3 was aired these two years then Gabriel would've made it big. The next day there was news that TVB decided to air DIF 1-3 as a rerun after ATE ends. What a coincedence it was, my wish came true, hopefully when they aired part 3 again people would recognize his acting abilities again and TVB would ask him to go back and do some series for them. But that seems really hard to happen, hopefully it does happen cause I rarely watch movies and although filming for TVB might not be very good in terms of salary but he might get more popular and exposer so that might be a good thing.

since ATE broke the record for a rerun series aired at might night around 12:00AM I think, TVB planned to rerun DIF 1-3 after ATE Part 2 ends. I heard ATE had a rating of like 18 or something but, seriously for a series aired so late at night it's pretty good, if people didn't like it the ratings were be that high.

I think TVB should recruit Gabriel to film a twin brother series. The one call "cheut toi seung kiu" because they really look alike! I think we should propose this to TVB and i bet the rating of the series will be excellent!

I'm for sure he's was in it cause Kevin said it himself in the Super Man radio show, he said it in detail too. He said, after his album wasn't going to come out, he had to decided what to do next, his company gave hima choice to film a series which was Twin Brother or have nothing to do since his album was on hold during a bad period of time in Taiwan when the economy was bad. He had to do an evil role, and he knew if he takes that role, his singing career would be no more since his album for sure wouldn't come and out and that doing evil roles would give audience a bad impression. For a singer to do evil roles, I guess it's really bad since you need people to like you in order sell albums. After that series Twin Brother someone from TVB recruited him since somene saw his appearance in that series, and found out that he started to act. In a way Twin Brother actually helped him alot, cause it gave him a chance to go back to HK, join TVB, and now be promoted by them as male lead. For sure it was the one with Jimmy Lin and Alec Su cause Kevin mentioned their chinese names too.

Hmm Working Women? Is that TVB's or ATV's. If that's ATV than I only remember a series called Anything But Him and it starred Amy Chan and two other women and the story revolved around the three of them. Gabriel's role in there was pretty big too, I was surprised at how significant his role was because when I watched him in TVB his roles were all very small.

He still inthe entertainment business, just that he's been doing mostly movies and mainland series, and from the promotion clip of ATV's upcoming grandproductions I'm pretty sure I see him in one of the modern series, can't wait to watch him in a modern series. It's been so long since he has made any series.
