I'm surprised as well! I didn't know that Angela watches those American tv shows! I was also very very surprised when I first heard her speak fluent English, a bit of Jap and also Korean! She's so talented!

Hey Cathy! How ya been? I just realised something. Angela changed so much, not only her physical appearance (she has gotten very pretty lately), but also her voice. Did anyone notice this? I don't know, but her voice is more....tamed right now?

Yes she looks very different back then during Bump off and Dolphin Bay days, she look
really innocent and sweet and so young yet so cute. Now she is becoming a lot prettier,
mature and sophisticated. I think from what hazel posted pics of her she is very
busy with her endorsement activities. I wish she was included in the Promo of RP here
in the Philipines, i really want to see her in person and hear her sing or maybe speak
in English.

I agree! She really does look very innocent back then and now she has matured and become very beautiful. I was also disappointed that Ang didn't go to the RP promo with Chun and Calvin! I mean she is the leading lady, but oh well, I don't want her to overwork herself. I like hearing her speak English as well...she is so fluent and has a nice accent as well.

There's a new article about Angela in the new issue of Teens (Singapore magazine). Here's what it says:

Angela Zhang has come a long way since she made her debut in the year 2001. Back then, she was a nondescript schoolgirl in Canada's Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School when she spotted some publicity flyers calling for contestants to participate in the Rothenacker Village Festival (BBC Star) Singing Contest. Thinking that it would be a "cool life experience", Angela signed up- and promptly clinched the top spot! Eventually the exposure led to her being approached by her manager who sugned her on as an artiste in no time. And though singing was all initially she wanted to do, her cute-as-a-button good looks landed her on tv first, where her "first real job" was playing Tian Yu Xi in the year 2001 series My MVP Valentine. Since she's acted in 2 other serials.- Bump Off Lover & Romantic Princess.

Eventualy though, Angela finally got her singing aspirations off the ground & cut her first album in the year 2004. Since she's averaged an album a year, the most recent being last year's Ang5.0 . However, there's nothing concrete yet. Also, I haven't had time to do any fashion designing fo my own concert tour either. My own line of clothing...[sighs] I wish! teens: How's your heart condition now? Is it reallya hereditary condition as speculated?
Actually, from young, I didn't even realise that I had a heart condition. My focus has always been excelling in my work. Sure, when I was working I sufferred the usual diarrhoea or vomiting spells but I didn't know that I had a heart problem. I guess I was just too concerned with proving myself that I forgot to take bettercare of myself.


teens: Have you learned to better manage your personal schedule now?
Yes, I get my bteaks whenever I need. Before that, I was always so busy; I just wanted to act, sing & shoot commercials all at the same time. There were all these work commitments coing straight at me & I hardly found time to breathe. Now, my company addressws my health problems, and allows me to have adequate breaks.


teens: Now that you're back in working mode, what keeps you going?
I'm hoping to be able to try out different movie roles. I don't mind the love stories, but please, no more high school student roles. I appreciate those who like me acting as a high school sweetheart but I want to try something different now. I can't always stay the same . Even if it's a negative villain role, I wouldn't mind it at all.


teens: What can we expect from you next musically?
I'm not sure if teh next album after Ang 5.0 will take a more diverse direction. I don't even know if it will stay mainstream. I just want to experiment with different music genres. I don't want to be the type of singer known for only one kind of music. Anyway, I listen to bossa nova & jazz in my personal time. Then there's classical music & cello strings which I like as well. Between acting & singing, I still prefer the latter though, which has always been my passion.

Marriage, pregnancy, all these rumours were circling around. Zhang ShaoHan (Angela) was attending a function as the representative of a Fashion Company. She showed off her flat tummy to break the rumours. She tried to introduce all her own designed T-shirt, jeans & hoped that her fans would support her. There was an inspiring saying printed on the t-shirt "Only God Can Judge Me". She said frankly, "I'm not going to give any explanation to the bad rumours." She insisted that she have to treat her feelings according to her own conscience & self control!

Concerning the rumours that she would give up her career because of love, Angela admitted that she heard lots of good & bad rumours about her. She said she is a straight forward person, no matter what she does & even the clothes she wears, it must be comfortable to her & she is not afraid of criticism. [ My Words & Deeds, Only God Can Judge Me].

Angela is very interested in fashion design, she collects over one hundred pairs of jeans.
She expressed that she wishes to create her own brand of clothings, accessories, may be to open a museum for jeans. Yesterday she wore a drop shoulder top, she nearly got exposed while she was making a turn. Luckily her colleagues had put some double sided tapes in the t-shirt to prevent her for being exposed accidentally.
