Queen of Changes Angela Concert DVD selling well, celebrate and work at the same time.

Just finishing the 47 days of filming of “Romantic Princess” last week, Angela is going to return as singer, promoting non-stop for the “Queen of Changes Angela Zhang 2007 World Concert DVD” that was out on 3 August. This Saturday, she is going to hold three autograph sessions in North, Central and South three areas of Taipei, having close interaction with the fans whom she had not seen for a long time. Angela laughed excitedly, “Wa, finally can meet up with everyone, I’m looking forward to it yo!”

The Concert DVD is just out and the order for the whole Asia has already reached 200 000, showing Angela’s popularity in the whole Asia’s Chinese Music Industry. For this, the record company specially held a “Queen of Changes Angela Zhang –Ice breaking celebration” on 10 August (today) arranging Angela to break the 200 000 number ice with a hammer. Other than celebrating Angela’s good sales in her DVD, it is also announced to be coming out with Angela’s 5th personal album at the end of this year, this week officially starting with the recording work, inform Angela’s fans to anticipate.

When talking about the most impressionable memory amongst this 4 concerts, Angela said, the first and last concert at Taipei is the most unforgettable, saying, “At Shanghai, it was my first ever large scale personal concert, below the stage, it was filled with 30 over thousands of fans listening to me sing, it’s hard for outsiders to imagine. And the one at Taipei is because of my family, good friends and many entertainment celebrities came specially to support, the feeling is very special; when I saw below the stage were all fans waving neon light sticks and dancing, I couldn’t help but cry.”

As this was the first time Angela and Wu Zun work together in drama “Romantic Princess”, everyone else is very curious how’s the interaction privately? Is it really like the rumours that both are not in good terms? Angela said, “Actually our relation is very good, even when the filming has ended, we still keep in contact recently, really never treat each other coldly lar! Sometimes we will also help one another’s friends to get each other’s autographs and photos! And at the filming scene, I will always call Wu Zun by his real name, ‘Wu Ji Zun” yo!” Angela revealed, in her eyes, Wu Zun is a guy that likes exercising and loves to eat tidbits, every time at the filming scene, Wu Zun will always bring a big bag filled with all kinds of tidbits, and will always treat her to the tidbits generously.

Angela also finds Wu Zun’s temper very good, sometimes she will purposely tease him but he also won’t say anything, “Wu Ji Zun is really very good to bully leh! Haha. ” As the director’s way of directing show is very strict, he will often use scolding manner to bring actors into their roles, thus Angela and Wu Zun had developed a revolutionary feelings, forming a ‘Diamond Gang’ in the crew! Angela explained, “Once I saw the tattoo on Wu Ji Zun’s body and found it very nice, and told him that last time I always wanted a tattoo on my inner wrist, but because I’m really afraid of pain and the record company also don’t allow, thus I use ball point pen to draw a five carat big diamond fake tattoo, and purposely trick others as it’s super fun! Haha. After that, Wu Zun and the whole crew are being drawn with a diamond picture by me, and I became the diamond chief, and everyone is forced to join the gang.”

Will you really consider tattoo in future? Angela said, “I’m a very careful person, I will consider for a long long time ba! That’s why, Wu Zun keeps saying that I am afraid of pain and definitely don’t dare to go and tattoo. He also make a bet with me, if one day I dare to go for tattoo, not only will he help me find the best tattoo master, he will also help me fork out money!”

Since both relation is not bad, then is it possible to have relationship? Angela emphasize, “It’s only in the drama, that I have the feeling of being electrocuted by him, but it is definitely not possible in real life lar! Once when I had a kissing scene with Wu Zun, I purposely tease him, I think you’ve kissed until crossed-eye already? We are too familiar with one another, we are really good friends only, everyone don’t think so much.”

Angela and Wu Zun are often scolded with vulgarities by the director during filming, thus provoking their friendship, she admitted truthfully that she is indeed being electrocuted by Wu Zun when kissing in the show, :Lips touching lips and turning here and there, there is indeed feeling lar, but the weather is too hot, it’s really hard to be romantic.” At the filming scene, she often bully Wu Zun, knowing that he is good temper, she will always like to call him by his original name ‘Wu Ji Zun’, making him angry and feel like laughing at the same time.

Angela recalled and embarrassing issue when she was filming “Romantic Princess”, she said, the first day when they were all finalizing their ourtfit and outlook, she was sitting on the chair preparing to stand up, suddenly she selt her ‘Big Aunt’ (Period) coming, the work crew help her see and saw the blood staining the chair, and went hurriedly out to help her buy a new pants and sanitary napkins. Angela sat on the chair not daring to move, and beside her, Wu Zun and other actors keep walking around, she acted calmly, luckily the work crew came back in time. Angela said, “Luckily Wu Zun did not see it at that time, or else I will be teased forever.”

her live singing is really great on the concert dvd. angela has a great stage presence.
however, i wish they didn't interrupt her performance with excerpts from her music videos. it's annoying and unnecessary.

Just finished episode 1 of RP and I have to say, this is DEFINITELY a change from Bump off Lover... the acting in here is a little more exaggerated... but kudos to Angela.. because she hasn't made 'Xiao Mai' too fake or anything... I think she's actually brought the manga character to life pretty well~ I look forward to watching further episodes of it to see her chemistry with Chun, George, Calvin, and Eric.

Hmm, I want to try to get some sort of discussion going... all the pictures are beautiful, but let's try to fill up the thread with normal posts, too, okay?

How did you first find out about Angela?
For me, I first heard of her because of Johnny Yan XingShu (of 183Club)... because they were rumored together At first, I thought Angela was very strange-looking! But actually, now I know that it's just that her company sometimes gives her strange images... but that she DOES, in fact, look like a beautiful porcelain doll. I think her new hair (for Romantic Princess) suits her VERY well... and the clothes that she's been wearing for the drama and drama promotions are also great... they don't over-emphasize her skinniness, but instead her delicacy... if that makes sense. She looks so sophisticated and pretty

Oops, anyway... back to how I got to know her... actually, I didn't pay much attention to her until I heard someone sing her Aurora... I really loved the song, so then I went searching for the REAL mp3 and totally fell in love with it even more! I then promptly bought her Aurora CD... This was six months ago... and I've since bought another of Angela's CD's, Pandora...

Anyway, I think Angela has a really unique voice... sometimes, it can seem a bit shrill (and you can see why some people wouldn't like her voice), but I like that her voice is really clear... and she has a good range. Also, her live is pretty good. I wouldn't say I love ALL of her songs, but I do like a lot of them... I think I like the Pandora CD the most (out of all of her CD's)...

Yay, discussion about ANGELA!! I love this girl.. I think I've been with her from MVP all the way till now... at first when I heard she was going to release an album, I thought to myself "oh no, not another actress who can't sing and just wants to be popular".. but oh I heard her song "Yu Yan" and I seriously was blown away.. the song was good and her voice was good... She has a good range and she's usually always on tune..

I think Angela is one of those lucky girls who just look really pretty.. she just needs to gain another 10 pounds.. but other than that, she's amazing.. yeah, like tammiest said, she really does wear odd clothes and sometimes her makeup or hair just messes up her prettiness.. but she is beautiful on the outside and inside.. When I heard her story, I was just so touched by how hard she worked.. if it hadn't been for MVP, she probably wouldn't be here today.. so I'm so glad she didn't get kicked out of the cast (which she almost did because she couldn't cry).

I feel that her voice sounds better live than in her CDs.. there's something about her CDs that makes her voice a bit shrill but not too bad.. She's one of the very very very few artists in which I LOVE every single one of her song.. yes, I can't believe it, but I can listen to every single one of her songs without skipping to the next track on her albums.. and not only does it take good songwriters but all the artist herself has to be able to sing out the emotions.. and that's what I love about angela.. my only goal is that she can improve in acting and one day she can write her own songs. I know "Flower in Wonderland" was sort of written by her.

I guess Angela's songs just make me feel a bit more independent and I don't know... they talk more about strength of herself, of love, of etc... than lovey-dovey nonsense.

ACTING: i think her best series so far was bump of lover.. I thought she sort of messed up on the main character (not too bad, just her usual acting) but I was really amazed with what she did with the other two characters..

Actually I've only opened myself up to the TW entertainment/music industry recently. I know I'm late but as they say here where I am, "It's better late then never." My favorite type of singers are the "soulful" singers where they can go at any range at any pitch and still nail the notes without a problem. Take for example Amei ofcourse from TW, and then there is my favorite mainland newcomer Jane Zhang. Who has the potential to shine likewise to Mariah Carey, Christina A, Whitney Houston....

Ofcourse I like other types of singers too like Angela Zhang...she's one of the more mellow singers likewise to Jewel, Michelle Branch and Avril Lavigne...

it all boils down to a fan's preference in music, it's just that sometimes people are thoughtless in how they go about stating that certain music are not to their flavor and attack the artist out right.
Me, I like variety in my life so yep I do enjoy a little bit of Angela Zhang Music every now and again and I do hope to see her grow more as a vocal artist.

I actually saw her for the first time in Love At Dolphin Bay. I never had a bad impression of her as compared to many people I've seen post on "Thing's I hate about Angela Zhang" thread or whatever.( I think they just have nothing better to complain about.)

She just never peaked my interest nor was she out of my entertainment radar same as tammiest, I frequently heard about her through Johnny Yan news since they are very good friends...not that there was ever much.

Don't know about you all but I see a little bit of something worth exploring in the new RP tandem but that's just my opinion.

I have to agree on that. Angela has pretty distinct voice as well. And yes, I wind up like majority of her songs from her cds which unfortunately, floods my playlist XD. Normally, there's only three songs or so from albums of other artists that I tend to like.

As for allbums, I didn't realize it too, but I have been listening to a lot of her Pandora songs. Aurora was a wonderful song, addictive. Quite a few from her recent album, but I still tend to listen to a lot from her debut album, Over the Rainbow since *shrugs* 3 years ago?. Even her debut album I feel- she has a really powerful and moving voice. There's this song, wo de zui ai that I couldn't stop listening to...

Yea, I noticed the funky clothes after awhile... XD but she is extremely gorgeous. I think she should have kept her weight from the Pandora days, she was super pretty in that an aurora's album. In love with her MVs XD But I really loved Dolphin Bay- first Taiwanese series I can remember!

It's funny how recently I've turned into a pretty BIG fan of Angela's acting!! ^^ I never wanted to watched "My MVP Valentine" cause this series had J-Stars in there and I have a HUGE disliked for them (haha, no offense to anyone) and I TRIED really hard to watch "Bump Off Lover" but the series turned out to be TOO scary for me... but Romantic Princess is JUST right!! <33 I really like the storyline a lot and Angela's pretty good at acting comical! ^___^ AND on top of that, she has AMAZING chemistry with the main actor!!

I've fallen in love with her acting too after watching Romantic Princess. She did an awesome job in it. And it's also her first time acting in a romantic/comedy series. I love how when she's mad or surprised or happy, her eyes goes HUGE! I've always thought she was ugly and too skinny, but now i think she's super cute and pretty.

I agree that her singing is speechless. How can someone so little have such a powerful voice? I think her voice is very unique...I dunno how to explain, but I can tell it's her song when I hear her voice. To me, her singing is kinda like Hebe's. There's attitude in their singing.

It's a wig for camera commercial. Also her "short" hair is done by pulling the hair up beneath her shortest layer (you can see the poof in some pics when she guested on Guessx3).

And you can hear Angela speak English when she went to visit a school and she got to see an English class in session (some students tried to practice their English by conversing w/ her). The video is on youtube, I just don't know where to look...she was on this show promoting "Flower in Wonderland"

Also, I was wondering if Angela can play the guitar (really good or newbie level)? Cuz, my friend said no but I think yes.

Her english is very good as well. The first scene I saw in Dolphin Bay was when she was singing Journey. And I thought her English was incredibly good. That song pretty much wowed me- first song I heard from her and I could not stop listening it to it =D I love the simple but beautiful rhythm.

i watched dolphin bay a few months after it came out in TW. i didnt like her as an actress. but i really liked her songs Yi She de mei hao & journey from that series. then i bought her album. then every year she comes out with a new album, i buy it asap. i have all her albums. but i didnt finish watching any of her other series except dolphin bay. i DL'd bump off lover in lump. but i only got to ep. 2 coz it couldnt hold my attention. but im soon gonna DL romantic princess



i think she cant. in one of her mv she was playing guitar. but she was plucking it very wrong. i think that even for filming purpose, you would be able to hit the right strings if you really knew how to play guitar

Actually, I've only seen snippets of My MVP Valentine myself (mostly related to Chen QiaoEn)... well, that and about half of the first episode. Angela's character is super-weird there! And they gave her weird hair again o_O (then again, have you seen her picture on the cover of When Dolphin Met Cat? REALLY unflattering! *sighs* I don't understand why her own company would want to do this to her... )
As for Bump Off Lover, I have about half of it on my computer, but I haven't really started to watch it yet... LOL, I really want to see the performance(s) that earned Angela her nomination (?), but I'm also anxious that it will be too scary! Anyway, francesca, I really hope you like Romantic Princess! Haha, the rest of the "recent posters" in this thread certainly do... I definitely think she is adorable with Wu Zun!... which really shocked me. To be honest, I was kind of a fan of the Johnny-Angela pairing... if you've ever seen the two of them together, they're super-comfortable with each other (although not particularly flirtatious and, thus, not NECESSARILY "romantically" inclined). It's a good tandem... I COULD believe that they were in/will be in a relationship.

So, back to Romantic Princess... chiy, I totally agree with your post! I am, so far, impressed with Angela's acting... I guess I didn't go into the drama too "seriously" since it is, in fact, a comedy... and adapted from a manga. But she's got decent comedic timing... and I was really convinced by her crying scenes... it's true that I didn't see any tears (unlike, for example, when I watch Chen QiaoEn or Ariel Lin act), BUT... her sobs and the lines that she had to say while crying-- sounded genuine/convincing to me! So... either I'm blind, and there really were tears... or it doesn't really matter... because she fooled me (and moved me to tears), anyway.

Also, I agree about her eyes... I think it's just that her image for Romantic Princess really suits her... she looks more like a porcelain doll now than ever before.

Haha, it's funny how we all like Pandora (the album) the most (it's my sister's favorite, too)... because I know a lot of people in the Critics Hangout were saying how much they DISLIKED that album! Oh well, I guess we can't please all... for example, I wasn't terribly fond of her latest, Flower in the Wonderland... at least in comparison to her previous two albums... but I know a lot of people who were really impressed with it.

Speaking of her songs... hmm, even though I have a copy of her "Over the Rainbow" somewhere, I must say that I haven't really listened to it yet... so I have a question for Romantic Princess viewers...

Wow, it seems like Angela's thread is growing a little bit!! Yay!! I really just love her sooo sooo much, more so her voice and her attitude.

tammiest Yay!!! You brought the long-awaited (well, I guess it wasn't that long) scans!!!! She looks really pretty.. And not hideous at all!!!! Yay! I'm pretty sure she was the one who sang "Over the Rainbow"... do you guys know if that's a new recording of it? I was pretty sure that was her voice though, because of the english. I'll have to watch it again to be sure though. I have to agree that I love all the emotional scenes in RP... but I feel that her funny side still needs some improvement (because there's always room for improvement!).. Though I do have to say that I'm impressed with RP... At first, I was scared that she wouldn't be able to bring out Mai's character onto the screen... but so far, she's proved me wrong.
Ohh!! Pandora was amazing.. I just realized that.. Flower in Wonderland was good - solid.. but it was spectacular (in my opinion) as Pandora.. and I loved her first one.. Her second one was good.. but if I HAD to pick a least favorite one (which is really really hard), it would be the second album. That's unfortunate that you know the ending to Bump Off Lover.

This is what I have to say about Bump off Lover if you haven't seen it... She really did deserve the Golden Bell Nomination because her acting was superb.. it really made me seem like I was watching two different characters, or actually 3 different personalities.. For a while, I was skeptical, thinking maybe Angela had a secret twin! But I really loved the show.. it was good. And they had the guy, oh I forgot his name, but I found him pretty cute and he was the one that helped Angela (the guy who she sort of kissed at the end), provided comic relief for the intense scenes. I just think it was well done...

I noticed that a lot of artists have been doing this lately.. well, not a lot. but like rainie (her's is a lot more obvious) and jolin did for a while, too. Just an observation. lol. Oh but like I wrote above, Bump Off Lover was such an awesome scene.. though I think I was a little depressed for a week or two after I watched it.. And RP is definitely giving me more of a light hearted feel so that's good. You've heard two songs? Which ones? The one on RP? Oh you must listen to more!!!!! =] =] Hahaa. Yeah she was really lucky.. but I'm sure that was one of the hardest points in her life since it was only her mother and her who moved back to Taiwan and the rest of her family stayed in Canada. And when she was filming for MVP Valentine, she was almost "fired" because she wasn't that great of an actor and it was her first drama. I'm so glad that she made it through though.

Don't you guys find it really really lucky that she went into the audition for MVP Valentine by saying something along the lines that the only she could do was sing and then she sang a song for them? I'm so glad it did happen or else I wouldn't have a singer that I respect so much. lol.

But Angela, please do stay healthy and gain a little weight!!!!! (that's just on a side note. )

Hahahaaa, RP has allowed her not to look hideous? Though really, now that I think about it, her image in RP is definitely a lot better than in MVP Valentine. Hmmmm, the English in Over the Rainbow was definitely a lot better, gosh I really do need to go back and listen.. it sounded like her voice though, or maybe I was just expecting it to. Hmmm, I guess it just depends on personal preference, though, I can’t say I disliked any of her albums because I love all of them! Oh yeah, I remember her talking about it, how she got all depressed, too. Yeah, no wonder, if I even got depressed, I’m sure her acting it would’ve been depressing too. This just shows to those people who have something against Angela that she doesn’t just act in idol dramas. She’s improved a lot and is willing to take on different types of characters!

I love how the way Johnny and Angela are… I can’t really see them as lovers but he’s soooooo nice to her.. and cares for her. I can see him as her big brother. 2. Favorite Angela drama – Bump Off Lover, mainly because of the acting and I loved the plot. The ending really made it a good, solid drama. I could just see how much Angela had improved. And it doesn’t help that I thought the main guy was cute. In terms of cuteness, her other dramas would score there. lol.
3. My favorite pairing would either be Angela/Johnny if we treat it from off-screen chemistry. As much as I love Angela and Wu Chun.. I guess I’ve seen so much more Angela and Johnny that I love them so much more.
4. Either Eddie Peng or Mingdao. I know she was had a cameo role in one of Eddie’s drama but that one was sooo boring and they weren’t really paired together. In one of those events above (the Bazaar one), she was shown seated next to Eddie which shows that they’re still in touch. And they used to go to the same school and she used to give him her lunch. And so I hope to see Eddie and Angela together, they’re both great actors and I’m sure they’d be able to find some spark! Mingdao? Purely because of the last few minutes in TGDJY and because they’re kind of competing against each other in their lastest drama right now.
5. I would like to see Angela in a duet with… ummm.. well, Angela’s voice is rather unique and I’m not sure how it would do with Wu Chun… so maybe JJ Lin? He did write a song for her but I hope to heard a duet!

Over the Rainbow: to be perfectly honest, I am super unfamiliar with this album. So I won't pick a favorite
Aurora: it HAS to be Aurora. Because, well... it's what made me interested in Angela in the first place. But I do like quite a few of the other tracks, too...
Pandora: hm... it's a TOUGH pick as this is my favorite album of Angela's... I like practically every song on here... BUT my "current" favorite from this album is 香水百合 [Xiang Shui Bai He] [Fragrant Lily].
Flower in the Wonderland: hm... I actually like C大調 [C Da Diao] [C Major] the most... I know a lot of people think it's too cutesy, but... I don't think so. I also love the background music...

2. What’s your favorite Angela drama?

This isn't really a fair question for me to answer... because I've only seen Angela in Romantic Princess! Haha, but... I am UNEXPECTEDLY a big Angelun fan (yeah, I REALLY did not see that coming at all... ). So... Romantic Princess for me

3. Who’s your favorite Angela-pairing?

Aww, I think I like Angelun and Johnny-Angela both equally... well, in different ways. Angelun makes me giddy, and Johnny-Angela makes me smile. It's hard to say whether or not "Angelun" chemistry/friendship/relationship will last... also, the two "relationships" give off really different "vibes."

4. Who would you like to see Angela paired up with next in a movie or drama?

Am I the only one who's suddenly sad that Wilber Pan has never delved into acting? I think he and Angela are just adorable together. But there's no way that, as a newbie, he could match Angela in terms of acting, so it probably won't happen.
So, in light of that, I think I'd go with Ming Dao. I'm unsure how they would REALLY click in a full-on drama, but they're decently familiar with each other in real life already (because of Johnny), and Ming Dao is kind of a natural flirt, anyway... I'm sure they'd produce decent chemistry. Plus, he's a good actor... and always leading man material.

5. And, who would you like Angela to have a duet with?

Oooh, you read my mind, butters! Yup, JJ Lin would be great... so far, I've loved JJ's two duets with Jin Sha... so why not Angela instead? Didn't he write 保護色 [Bao Hu Se] [Camouflage] for her? I'm REALLY in love with that song! It's really different from his usual "style," though...
On the other hand, how about Wilber Pan again? Not only are they super-adorable together, but I think Wilber's "natural" style is very similar to the style of the aforementioned 保護色 [Bao Hu Se] [Camouflage]... he also does a lot of random duets, so it wouldn't be unusual (plus, they already released a song together)...

Yeah, I know Angela has thought that Johnny was kind of ugly (hahahaaa. they must be VERY VERY good friends for Angela to be able to say that he's ugly).. but I hope she gets over that and realizes that he's always there for her. I kind of felt that Johnny liked her but it was her who didn't budge. Well, that's just my speculation so who knows.. Only Ang will know. =] Way too suspicious, I don't think any other guy would be caught dancing her Pandora dance steps... hahahaaa.


Over the Rainbow is a pretty good album!!! You should listen =] But Aurora is such a pretty song!!! I love how now all of her songs are about lost love or something. You know? A lot of her songs have really powerful emotions and you can tell that by her voice. Like some are about strength, etc. Some people hate her cute songs, but I actually love them.. like C Major and Fragrant Lily are both really cute. They really make me happy. =] Yeah, I think Pandora was the best ... I don't know if that's just me.. but it seriously is the best album I've ever bought.. =]

Yes, as much as I love his duets with Jin Sha.. it's time for him to move on to someone else.. *hint hint* ANGELA!!! I liked BAO HU SE.. at first I didn't and then it grew on me. Sandy Yeah, I thought Lu Ting Wei was really cute... even though Bump Off Lover was more of a mystery (?) drama..
