After releasing a single in Italy, little heavenly king Jay Chou has officially entered the Japanese entertainment industry. Jay Chou, who is already somewhat famous in Japan, was surrounded by fans and the media the second he arrived at the airport. No wonder Jay said...

Besides his music, the movie that Jay was a lead actor in, Initial D, is also available in Japanese theaters thus allowing Japanese fans more chances to be more familiar with Jay. In the reporter session which officially declares Jay's entrance into the Japanese industry, besides showing off his specialty in playing and singing, Jay obviously had to say some simple Japanese greetings.

Jay Chou; "Hi everyone. I'm Jay Chou. I'm glad to see so many Japanese fans and I thank you for coming to the airport to pick me up."

From the swarm of media present, it's not hard to see Jay Chou's importance to the Japanese media. His "Taiwanese flow" (phrase referring a surge in popularity of Taiwanese things/people) status is just as strong as F4. At the reporter session, a well known Japanese female star was arranged to give (Jay) flowers. But, we're not sure if she was too hot for Pres Chou to handle since Jay seemed to have started to lose control of himself.

It's just a collection of some of his songs, including the themes for Initial D. None of the songs are acutally in Japanese.

He is a great singer but is not a good actor. His first movie sucks.

I don't even know he got many fans in Japan. Maybe those fans same like me can listen to jap song but don't understand while they listen jay song but don't understand it.

He only have fan in japan because of Initial D i seriously think he cant really sing nor act. I never understand his rap either its so stupid. Now he going to go into Japanese music?

jay is definately talented in singing, but im not sure about acting, his performance in initial d stank, and i doubt he won the japanese fans over with that.

I think Jay is talented in rapping and composing..but definitlely not singing. Yes in his Cds, he can carry the simple very limited range songs, but his live performances don't captivate me.

His initial D performance wasn't that bad, obviously not up to par with his music, but not that bad.

Jay is talented and I think his sound would be popular in any country. Now if only his new album will come out soon! I liked one of his two songs from Initial D but it's been a long wait since his last album Well over a year.

yea im not too down wit jay either... his music sux and his rap is even worse... i thought his acting was aight since its not hard to act dumb or act takumi i guess

Just to clear things up, I like Jay and his music. But even if I like his music he's still not the best voice around.


Btw, how's Initial J doing in terms of sales in Japan? In a sense he's like the older, chinese version of Bi, trying to take over the world haha.

i think he will actuallty be pretty big in japan, and i didnt know he released a single in italy!! why italy? well i hope him good luck in japan.

Good luck to him in Japan...I hope more people around the world can experience his music. It's true that his acting in Initial D wasn't THAT great...but hey, it's his first time acting. And luckily, Takumi's character has that kind of "expressionless" personality.

why did they advertise it as his first japanese album? it is suppose to be like the first album release in japan? this is weird. probably just another advertising method from the company.

I love Jay's music but the thing is I have to admit that his voice was better in his 1st and 2nd album, but in his 3rd(granpa's tea) album onwards, there were not much of his powerful voice.n he actually had to depend on background singers to help him..sigh..what had happened to jay?
anyway his music is still enjoyable, he is a creative musician..
uses helicopter sounds,unusual instruments n all..
thats what make us love jay so much..
but i hope to hear more of his powerful vocal on his next album though...(like da 1 we heard in "black humor")

He is a talented songwriter and as a studio-recording artist. When it comes to live, his voice sucks and his acting sucks. His look is OK.
As for the album, it contains a selection of his old songs and a couple of songs from Initial D movie.
There wasnt a big promotion for Initial D in Japan, a small banner in some of the subway trains only. I hardly spot any TV commercial for this movie. Among the young ppl hardly anybody heard of Initial D movie. Why F4 is more known. I doubt Jay will make it in Japan.

yo... jay rawks man.. he's into japanese songs now, hope he'll make it! he's a talented composer, and a good singer too.. l ove his songs so much~ he probably cant act, but i still love watching him in initial D!!

This greatest hits album does not contain too many of Jay's greatest hits, but does provide a wide variety of his songs.

As much as I say that jay is an awesome rapper, his singing skills are not that great. I'm not even going to compare him with Jacky.... to make my point across.
