You know what I think? I think some of those people who insist that Gillian's acting sucks might've based their opinion on her past movie roles which are more tiny than tiny and contribute nothing to the movie, but serve the purpose of a vase. They've probably already set their opinion right down that Gillian can't act, and are too stubborn to look further into any recent movie performances that Gillian's given. I see that so often; an actor/actress might start off not giving an absolutely fantastic performance in their early movies, and stubborn people will never change their opinion regardless if the actor/actress made improvements at all. I've read all the comments posted at Yahoo! and most comments refer that Gillian has made improvements in her acting, whether it's a tremendous improvement, considerate amount of improvement, some improvement. There are people who seem like they don't want to admit that she's improved, but they do anyways; for example, comments like, "Gillian has made improvements to her acting, but it could still be better." I don't blame those comments though; one could always improve on something. Of course there are people who simply say that she has no improvement or just sucks without giving a good explaination of how and why. I read a comment that expressed that Gillian has bad acting because her voice sounded weird when delivering her lines? Uh huh........
Another thing that I dislike at CCT is some people there actually believe or want to believe or they simply persist that EEG has nothing and absolutely NO INFLUENCE on the movies that either Twin receives when someone FINALLY brings up the biased issue of the amounts of movies of each Twin. That is the reason that they use to fight back the statement in regards to the biased issue. Can you believe that? It's like HELLO?! EEG is the managing company for Twins; they definitely do have the rights and power to give influence and make decisions on the movies that Twins receive. If EEG had no influence on the movie offers, then would the roles between Charlene and Gillian in TTE be suddenly switched right before filming? Then would several movies offered to Gillian be pushed away? I remember there was this horror movie that was offered to Gillian once, and then there was a reason about how Gillian can't film horror movies because she doesn't like them or something; therefore, she can't film it. Gillian has expressed that she likes horror movies, and what is 49 days, which is advertised as a horror movie, if she can't film horror-based movies?
I actually don't mind that much if Gillian does do one or two guest-starring roles once in a while. Because if the role is good enough, Gillian will still shine. She was shining through in Bug Me Not!, though it wasn't exactly the best movie ever and Gillian's purpose of being there was just to serve as a pawn to bring Isabella up. There was this advertisement on upcoming movies in a magazine I was reading once, and they actually printed: Bug Me Not! - Starring: Isabella Leong, Gillian Chung. It was kinda funny; Gillian was a guest star and suddenly it's starring? (Just a funny fact, I was watching "When Rules Turn Loose" today, and during a scene in the theatre with Sammul Chan and Myolie Wu, there was a poster of Bug Me Not! on the wall, which was featuring Gillian only. Maybe you guys could keep your eye out for it if you ever decide to watch the series.) Nevertheless, the critics of the HK Film Awards expressed that the only two people who shined through Bug Me Not! were Gillian and Candy Lo.
49 Days really does seem like a big surprise to the HK film industry during recent times. Two years was spent on preparing the movie, and it took half a year to film it. Seriously, besides Gillian and maybe Stephen and Steven, the cast of 49 Days isn't exactly famous or popular to pull in the viewers who base their choices of movies on who the movie is starring. But I think the production company does want some of that kind of viewers to go though since 3 out of 4 different styles of posters feature Gillian, and she's the most appealing out of the whole cast.
I bet it would be a total knock-out if Gillian were to co-star with a big star like Andy Lau! It would also earn her more recognition as well. Her solo leading movies have all done well so far, and her male co-stars were only Daniel Wu and Stephen Fung. Daniel Wu could be considered as a boxoffice promise for the most part, but he usually has a boxoffice promising leading lady with him too, so the boxoffice rates of his movies don't completely depend on him. I'm not sure about Stephen though; he doesn't exactly make many movies though, so can't judge how promising he is to boxoffice rates. Regardless, I'm still hoping that Andy does start a movie with Gillian as the female lead since he said that he'll find a way to kiss her somehow after Charlene's surprising kiss on-stage, but Gillian said the only way she'll do so is if they star in a movie together.
The next plug song for Twins after Kindergarten is A Story Of Texas. I think Conscience Discovery will also start showing up more on the radio as well after Cleverness is finished with its round as Kenny's plug song. The three main songs that EEG will be promoting from Kenny's album are Moon Bright Bright, Cleverness, and Conscience Discovery. Moon Bright Bright has been plugged just before the album release, then Cleverness was plugged and I think it's almost done, next should be Conscience Discovery.
GILLIAN SUPPORTER!
Here we go again with our long essays lol.
Sometimes I can't help but believe that the fans at CCT are children who are restricted to watch PG-13 films.

Seriously, the news that are released are in Chinese, something they can clearly read, understand, and respond to unlike some of us here (me) who shamefully can only recognize a few Chinese characters, enough to make an elementary sentence YET I still manage to know more than those fans. And THANKS

Little_Purple_Bell for always informing us with translated news articles and CathyW for many updates regarding Gillian. Those fans are probably the main cause of Gillian's continuous bias treatment from her manager, her agency, and at times her own partner. It seems like those fans believe that the most efficient way to support Gillian is just to straightfowardly purchase her merchandise, albums, etc. but they're not understanding the entire picture. It takes much more than a couple of items here and there to be a true fan even if under the label of a Twins Fan and not fully a Gillian Fan. Speaking about them just frustrates me because they won't likely change their perceptions; afterall Gillian already announced her discomfort with her company's restrictions and bias treatment BUT some fans still will not budge in terms of thinking.
Some people are just plain pathetic. Seriously, Gillian has tremendously improved yet like you've said, there are still some people out there who believes not. I know that acting or singing sort of depends on one's own preferences and opinions but hm, if something is a fact like Gillian's improvement then most likely going around that claiming that she hasn't is just so invalid. Stubborn people have issues with almost everything. Acting always has room for improvement I understand that. Andy has been in the industry for quite some time now even before I was born but personally, it seems like his acting abilities have neither improved nor worsened. He sort of remains constant now. As for Gillian, she already stated that her previous roles were so abruptly presented to her, it was impossible for her to adapt and transform herself into those characters successfully; thus, resulting in her poor performances. People are so prepared to criticize her and probe at love rumors rather than pay attention to her work and her reasons as to why her acting career has been such a rough journey. And about Gillian sounding weird when delivering her lines as an excuse for hating on her acting abilities is just speechlessly dumb!
Haha. The solo poster of Gillian in Bug Me Not! is hilarious. I so want to see that. I'll be looking out for that. Well, it's nice to know that Gillian and Candy were the only ones who shined through from that um trying to be cute but ended up dumb movie. Sorry, this is my honest opinion.
49 Days is doing quite well for having such a low profile cast besides Gillian actually. Stephen has only made a successful comeback with House of Fury and the other Steven, hm...he's still stuck in that Boy'z, the no talent male version of Twins image. Daniel Wu, his box office hits are usually in relations to his leading ladies. I do hope that Andy does keep his words and invite Gillian as one of his leading ladies in one of his next romance films because Andy has been in the industry for so long, most of his recent productions enter international markets which is super cool if Gillian was introduced that way. But I'm sort of iffy on Andy though. It seems like Andy may be nice and funny upfront joking about inviting Gillian in one of his movies in order to gain his missed kiss but behind cameras, he does favor Sa more. It seemed like Andy and Sa totally disregarded Gillian while onstage during the mini concert. I know that Andy and Sa have worked together so their bond could be a bit closer but even before the movie collaboration, Andy commented that out of the new generation of actresses, he believes Sa has most potential. Andy even compared Zhang Ziyi's acting abilities as a 9 out of 10 (it is a high number in scale but did he have to rate her based on what? did he all of a sudden create his own rules of "What makes a good actress?") in which he is entitled to his own opinion but I for one can see that Zhang Ziyi is one of the most daring, bold, and convincing Asian stars out there who has successfully portrayed an array of roles so what makes Andy have any right to compare her with his past leading ladies and to Sa?? out of all actresses, someone who has never took on an important or serious enough role to be on the same scale as Ziyi. I know that there are many who hate Ziyi but frankly, she's a wonderful actress. Andy believes that Sa falls under similar in ratings (?) as Ziyi on his scale of good actresses; hence, invited her to be one of his leads in "All About Love." Andy never considered Gillian; he never even mentioned Gillian period which sort of upsets me. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) I mean, Gillian is just as great of an actress or perhaps even better actress than Sa not to be mean because Gillian has shown her potential in all types of roles and characters yet Andy seems to totally not acknowledge that so in a way, Gillian can still be as successful without Andy's boost. I don't want Andy's ego to escalate by claiming to be an influential contributor in Gillian's acting career because quite frankly, Gillian can make it on her own just fine.
Ah~ Finally, Conscience Discovery could begin its promotions. I've been waiting and waiting for some time now. Hm, perhaps I can also help promote the song by producing my own MV of the song.

Well, hopefully...it will be a rocking blast on the charts.

Unfortunately, I don't remember what the box office rates for those movies were. But here's a clip of where Beyond Our Ken was announced as first place for the box office: (Credit To CCT)
http://s17.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1DS51GW...YQ1SDNSL19QQIA4I found this old clip of Twins singing an english song, "The Lord's Prayer". I like Gillian's voice when she sings in english....

She doesn't have much of an accent either; she should get around to singing some english songs, but not the children songs. Gillian said in a magazine interview that she wants to sing english songs in the HK Coliseum, mostly a song called "Somewhere Out There".

In second place, wasn't that the horror-like film the directors requested Gillian as the lead but instead EEG denied therefore switched to Race?? It just finally dawned on me how successful that film was after watching this clip of news which I've never seen before. If Gillian was featured in that film too, she would had gained double the amount of recognition and popularity being in both 1st and 2nd place at the box office. Race's role is quite bizarre and it seems like the only visible method these days to reveal one's true acting potential is to portray some type of weird insane individual similar to Gillian's character in BOK Ching but a full version like Race's character Jiney. Thanks for the informative clip.
Gillian's english is quite decent and doesn't carry an accent like Sa's. Gillian pronounces her english words like Californians do or wider aspect, North Americans. Haha. You know what is so ironic that I couldn't help resist feeling so much closer to Gillian?? Both of us like the song "Somewhere Out There." I remember I used to be stuck listening to that song for ages. It would be such an honor watching Gillian sing it at one of her concerts in the HK Coliseum; what a delight listening to her version.

Hey, have you guys read today's news? There might be a sequel to 49 days because some people liked it so much that they requested for one. Tsui Siu Ming said it will be possible to have one and they are currently discussing it. If they do, the original actors will be used!

oops!! I've just realised...at no.9 is Sad Movie...><
A sequel sounds nice on paper but I'm uncertain how the actual production will turn out. Let's just hope that the sequel is produced due to the loose ending and not entirely due to the demand because it is wonderful news that the audience is accepting the film so well and by a large majority but hm, sequels are usually failures. At least, we know that Gillian will be participating in another film correct?
