I think Athena is one of those actress-turn-singers, I remember she had an album out last year or something and I've heard her sing in a show as well. And to be honest her singing isn't that great...
But I won't mind if Wong Jing choose her to sing the themesong, since she's more of a main-character than Gill. Or maybe Wong Jing will do the same as what he did in 'Amazing Twins', like just choose a random song
of one of the main cast; which in this case was Nicholas, instead of recording a whole new one for the series.
(For those who haven't seen that series, the Mandarin version of 'Huang' was the themesong.

Well the thing about choosing one an old song instead of singing a new one is that Gillian hasnt sang any solos. The only one that she has is My father and my mother, so yeah, if they use that, then it REALLY wont go with the series.

It would be totally messed up and hilarious if Wong Jing was lazy enough to do that..which I don't think he would unless he is out of his mind blink.gif I really wish Gillian would have her own solo song to go with her role too!! infatuated.gif

No offense or anything, I can truthfully say that Charlene's voice is a stable one, but it isn't anywhere close to being versatile. Her voice sounds nearly the same in all her songs. I've also noticed that Charlene's voice can only be considered to be strong when singing songs that stay on similar notes; during the 2006 Concert, it felt like her voice was on the verge of cracking when she was singing her solos, especially when singing Love Is The Biggest Right. Charlene's performance was better during Twins songs. Ironically, Gillian's best part was during her solo. happy.gif' It was actually the part that left most 'mature' impression through the concert in my opinion. It was quite funny of watching the part of the concert after Gillian's solo and she said, "Let's give a round of cheering to welcome Ah Sa!" and she was being lowered down off the stage. The audience was cheering alright, but they were still screaming, "Giu!" until Gillian was out of sight. loool.gif You could only catch that when watching the VCD; the CD wiped most of the cheering out.

Hm, I haven't seen the concert yet but am dying to now but I guess I'll water my extremely critical habit because if what you guys are saying is true which I have no doubts at all then I don't want to sound too harsh on Sa later when I actually do get a chance to watch the concert and her solos; well, even then technically it's the truth or more so like we're just expressing our own personal opinions.

Gillian does seem to have a lot of support during concerts, functions, and activities etc...that's wonderful. dance.gif

Sometimes it's such a bad thing to be beautiful in the acting industry. Everyone just automatically stereotypes that a beauty can't act, and they never look into deep enough to discover one's acting skills. I think Blue Bird was the turning point of Gillian's acting career. See? It's not until the girl gets down with her hands and skills that people finally do some acknowledging. I liked the fighting scene between Blue Bird and 13th Young Master, but not the one between Gypsy and Helen. The one with Gypsy and Helen was pretty much pointless and even childish if I must say. There's actually a reason for Blue Bird and 13th Young Master to be fighting; it also builds Blue Bird's character. We see her as a cold Imperial Enforcer at first, but even though 13th Young Master had been annoying and picking a fight with her over dumbbells, Blue Bird still saved her from Fan Bing Bing's character when she was going shoot her dagger at 13th Young Master.

That seems to be the unending blind judgment on Gillian unfortunately. Seriously, most of these fans are females and even though they don't admit it but there is obviously some tension there perhaps Gillian possess it all: the beauty, the image, the figure, the stardom, the men!! 1.gif loool.gif Gillian is a decent actress. The only project she failed was Monkey King. She was quite fake and stiff in that serial but she gradually improved with each new film up until now, she has become a great actress whether people want to accept that or not.

Blue Bird was such a professional. She didn't mix personal disputes with work; thus, saving 13th Young Master when she could have solved the annoyance with the flying dagger. whistle.gif Gillian portrays such cool characters. worship.gif

It's a weird thing. Have you ever wondered why Gillian's solo movies never affect what people think of Twins, yet Charlene's solo movies have a huge impact on people's impressions of Twins as a whole? Whether results are positive or negative, it's like that. unsure.gif It's just like how it was with A Chinese Tall Story. When it made a flop, people would claim that the movies nowadays are failing because they're depending on talentless idols like Twins when Gillian was nowhere in that particular movie. Nothing affected Twins when Happy Go Lucky made a flop. Perhaps people understood that the flop had nothing to do with the plot nor the cast, but just the taste of HK? Same goes with the positive results. Gillian makes a great hit on with Beyond Our Ken/49 Days; the recognition is hers to take, which is reasonable, but when Charlene has various films, the directors of those films suddenly come out to voicing that Twins have great potential? happy.gif'

Hm, precise observations. That does seem to be the case. That's why when news articles and magazines boast Sa's image off Gillian's popularity and achievements or bashes both Twins based on Sa's flops...I question their work ethics; I mean, they're false claims. cluebat.gif
QUOTE (Little_Purple_Bell @ Mar 14 2006 6 24 AM) *
Yeah, this series is highly invested. I heard the budget provided was like a few ten millions? happy.gif' If Gillian's happy about it, why wouldn't we? I bet we'll see a whole new portrayal of Gillian in this series. This time she'll be able to fight and have some tragic loving in her character. Two of her preferable characters in one. laugh.gif I hope Gillian has many crying scenes because Gillian's crying just makes your heart want to ache!! I was watching TTE yesterday, and I started crying along with Gypsy (Gillian) when she had to make the decision of killing Reeve (Ekin). Her tears were just flowing like crazy!!

I think Michele Reis' role with Leon Lai was also Ching Ling So in fact. Theirs was a movie version though, but I'm quite sure that Michele played Ching Ling So. Another beautiful girl playing the role. I've noticed that medicine girls are always so nice and willing to sacrifice. I guess hence their liking of studying medicines to save people, huh? Was that comedic Ching Ling So of 1999 the TVB version one? Man, the only thing that character had in common with Ching Ling So was when she saved Woo Fei by sucking out the poison.
Uh huh, the role of Ching Ling So doesn't seem like it'll take as long as we thought it would. Athena said that she's only staying there to film for about two months, and Gillian has a way smaller role than her, so I'm guesing it'll take her this month of March to film, at the most the beginning of April. Gillian is taking breaks and still attending functions during the filming time, so no worries for the exposure part. The mandarin album of Twins is coming out during April - May, so they'll definitely need Gillian there for the album. I hope this series will be a fast filming, fast airing type of series. Also don't forget that these series get re-aired multiple times in various areas of Mainland, so plenty of exposure for Gillian!!

Despite Wong Jing's bad reputation of producing films, he actually is really nice towards Gillian. From looks of things, I think he did give Gillian a good role this time, seeing that Gillian likes this role, and it'd be nice if Gillian can sing the themesong/sub songs. Wong Jing's series usually do get one of the cast to sing the themesong, usually there's always a singer within his cast, so he always chooses the singer to do it. Like Wallace did the World's Finest theme, Dicky did the Duke Of Mt. Deer/Monkey King, etc. I hope it's Gillian for this one because I don't think anyone else sings within the cast? A nice solo to promote Gillian's singing to the Mainland audience, sounds like a great plan to me. infatuated.gif It would be highly possible if Gillian really is going towards more singing in the future.

Speaking of that crying scene in TE I, many fans, magazines, to a few famous stars have proclaimed Sa as one of the most promising rising actresses of the HK industry then why can't she drop a few tears here and there during that scene? Actually, a lot of scenes. And so much time was given for those tears to drop but none came rushing in. Sa already established a reputation as an actress in "My Wife is 18", TE I came way later so you would think that her acting abilities or at least crying skills would improve but yet none! All of her required crying scenes, she fails miserably. Any great actress can cry. whistle.gif The only two incidences I've seen Sa cry in acting with real tears was Twins' MV of Red Red Eyes and Disgrace. (A Tall Chinese Story...um, that's not crying but rather whiny blink.gif ) In All About Love, did Sa have a crying scene? (Hm, I don't remember.) So perhaps that's why Sa rarely portrays serious mature roles because tears do convery sorrow and apparently, Sa for some reason cannot cry.

laugh.gif Michelle Reis's character was Ching Ling So? Oh, I just mentioned that because I figured Gillian's medicine girl could be similar since Michelle was extremely cute but that struck me by surprise. Yup, two beauties as Ching Ling So. Mui Yurk Lan if I remember correctly wasn't even in that movie correct? I only remembered seeing Yuen Chi Yee played by Bridgette Lin (?). Anyways...medicine girls are extremely generous with love and so sacrificial because yes, they are doctors who have a desire of helping others and plus, even though Ching Ling So is medically skilled which back in those days accounts for intelligence, but Ching Ling So is innocent and pure. She's sort of isolated in a way studying medicine so her first love, Wu Fei, is someone she never really manages to forget. wavecry.gif Can't wait to watch Gillian blow us away with her tears and tragic love. down.gif Yeah, that Ching Ling So 1999 TVB was annoying. I admire her love for Wu Fei but at times, I could understand why Wu Fei didn't love her. She wasn't pretty for one and two, her personality wasn't that great either.

I've also noticed that Gillian has been attending functions while filming. That probably explains why, she lost weight? unsure.gif

I know. Hopefully, Wong Jing has already asked Gillian to sing a Chinese Ancient serial song that would match the serial not just a random song. Dicky's song for MK was produced specifically for that serial though and as for Nic's Huang, that song matched with the serial anyways.

The bad thing is EEG always releases a 2nd/3rd version of Twins' albums. Do they really think fans are made of money? There was a conference with fans in Mainalnd with Gillian and Nicholas once, and there was a game where fans were humming tunes of Twins songs to Gillian while she had to guess what they were. She got all the hit songs correct, but there were some songs given that Twins have never performed or never got popular, and even Gillian couldn't recognize them. Nicholas then explained that sometimes even the singers themselves don't know every song of their own.

EEG is sure slacking off on Twins lately. Their MVs rarely have a little storyline along with it. It's usually just Twins standing or sitting here and there and singing the lyrics. The other EEG artists' MVs are quite good though. Kenny's MV for Cleverness with Isabella as a guest star was nice. It had an individual storyline with it, and it allowed Kenny and Isabella to try out their acting with that harsh scene of them yelling and hitting each other. It was a nice MV to watch. Kenny and Gillian's Conscience Discovery MV was nice too; it was a high budget one because they actually had to ask for a sponsor of the nice houses to film the MV in and it had a plot with it. We never see any good quality MVs with Twins anymore. I'm not too sure about Twins' upcoming album; they revealed that it's a 'happy' album. I'm kinda afraid that would happy mean childish as well? unsure.gif I was hoping that they would sing more mature songs. A good thing about it is Gillian said that she and Charlene were each allowed to choose one song of their choice to enter into their album. That's one step closer to choosing the right songs for themselves.

Doesn't that incident just make Gillian suffocate with ambarrassment? dry.gif Lee Hom Wang can still remember his songs all the way to his first album. Well, he wrote the lyrics and produced the songs himself but still, people actually spent quite some time writing songs for Twins to carry out the emotions, EEG should at least respect that crew of workers and not just quickly discard their songs in a wasteland for money.

Hm, most likely it'll be a childish album. I don't think EEG is daring enough to portray Twins' Evolution or Girl Power image to the Mandarin industry yet. At least, Gillian will get to choose her personal song but then again, who knows what goes behind that final choice on the cd. whistle.gif
QUOTE (bluehearts @ Mar 14 2006 7 23 AM) *
hmm...I thought he was two-timing Gillian because he knew he was sick so he lied to her?? Actually I wasn't quite sure since the MV was a little confusing to me...but one thing for sure was that he never really show any affection towards Charlene even when they were alone??

In "Starlight Amusement Park" I think Gillian wasn't interested in the guy..I think she was jealous that Charlene, her best friend, was paying more attention towards the guy then her loool.gif I love the part where Gillian came behind him and pushed him down the to the floor in the playground though...so hilarious!!

Yeah you are right, I just rewatched it. From my impression, Twins are good friends. William is Gillian's boyfriend but because he's ill and somehow manages to tell Sa or somehow she finds out, William acts interested in Sa; Sa goes along with it because 1. William not knowing, Sa is in love with him. 2. Sa can't say anything to Gillian because she can't break William's secret. So Gillian gets upset at both of them, trashes Sa's store for revenge and leaves. Later on, William collapses, Sa works day and night to pay the hospital expenses (where are their parents?), and informs Gillian because Gillian is the one William truly wishes to see and wants by his side. The End.

The Starlight Amusement MV was cute but Gillian didn't care for the guy, she was more possessive of Sa. loool.gif

I'm not sure if Athena is a singer or not, but I have a vague memory that she does have a few songs? Gillian's character is considered a main character, just not a very main character. Her character's the most favourable, not too much on screentime, but does leave big impressions on the audience from the past roles of Ching Ling So being portrayed, so directors do take this role seriously. If Athena does sing, then I'd want her to sing the themesong and Gillian to sing one or two sub songs since the themesong usually has a lot of action and main plot related content in it while sub songs are usually big tear jerkers that revolve around the side stories such as the romance.

If the fast songs are songs that have meaningful content in it like the ones that Gillian sang at the concert, then Gillian does have the chance to show off her talent, but if it's the kind of fast songs that are like the early Twins songs, then it would be to Charlene's benefit instead. Like I've said before, I don't exactly want their 'happy-themed' songs to appear to be childish. Twins' schedules are just so tight that they never get any time to practice, and EEG are just never considerate towards this fact. Another thing, why does Gillian always dance better without Charlene as well? happy.gif' Her solo performance of dancing was great and on beat with her background dancers, but when she started dancing with Charlene with the medley of songs, they just weren't in sync. I couldn't even find the problem either. Gillian appeared to be dancing slower than Charlene, yet when I compare Gillian with the background dancers, she wasn't off with them either. She was at the same speed. unsure.gif

Athena? She used to sing a few songs but I doubt she'll sing the theme or sub because in most of her serials, even as a lead, she doesn't sing the theme or sub songs.

Twins are never really in sync with each other. It seems like one is always trying to lead rather than harmoniously collaborating, teamwork.

I agree...those 2nd/3rd version are really riping the fans off. I mean their second version of 'The missing piece' was like out a month after the original one, and the third...around 2 months later.
btw I've just read a piece of news on the news section that Gillian and Charlene have only spent half a month recording the Mandarin album, which is quite rushed in my opinion. EEG should seriously give them more time to focus on their cd recordings, since they are singers afterall...
Anyways I just hope their upcoming Mandarin album will do as good or even better than their first one (even though they didn't have much time time to record it, but hopefully it will include high quality songs...and not those typical K songs)
I think Athena is one of those actress-turn-singers, I remember she had an album out last year or something and I've heard her sing in a show as well. And to be honest her singing isn't that great...

(For those who haven't seen that series, the Mandarin version of 'Huang' was the themesong.

Half a month is a rushed album! dry.gif Hopefully, the album would be a blast considering that at least this album won't contain songs we all already heard and been exposed too but just a small change, Mandarin versions. whistle.gif

Well, Nic's Huang song did correlate to the serial. Well, at least it had some Chinese melody and lyrics to flow along the storyline but just any random song won't do. If Wong Jing does decide on choosing Gillian to sing at least one song for her character, I prefer it be fresh, romantic, sorrowful, and Mandarin. Gillian's voice seems to very flexible in Mandarin plus that would attract a bigger audience or perhaps have two versions of the song...so when it's airing in Mainland, the Mandarin version will be used and in Hk, the Cantonese version.

Well, I don't have that many complaints about Charlene's singing while doing Twins songs except she sings a lot of the wrong lyrics during varioius songs. duh.gif As in just substituting in words that sound right with the tune but not how the lyrics were originally written. I know it's not such a big thing, and at least the singer had the quick wit to put something in there, but I just hate it when I hear the lyrics sang improperly regardless of who it is. I just didn't enjoy Charlene's solos, period.

Gillian was really cute when Twins were singing "Strawberry Apple Orange" because they were passing out gifts/souvenirs out during that time, and it was just crazy of how many people were screaming her name. She had a handful of those souvenirs and about to pass them out to the people infront of her, but all of the sudden, people were calling her name from all around, so she kinda did this looking all around thing because she didn't know where to go to first! lmao.gif It was really funny! You should take a good look at that part when you get the VCD!

Yeah, Gillian's been working pretty hard lately. Nie Yuan mentioned it on his blog. He said that both Gillian and Athena have just recently met up with the crew and they're on tight schedules, so it's pretty hard on them.

Not really. No one blamed her for not recognizing a few songs, and Nic helped her out by explaining for her. The fans were really nice and understanding at the conference from the looks of things. The host, for some heck of a reason, expressed that Charlene has many movies, but Gillian appears to have none in 2005, but then the fans started chanting, "49 Days", when hearing the host make that kind of a remark.

Now I really do hope that Wong Jing will ask Gillian to sing a solo song for the series and then Gillian will get some recognition about her singing, because Charlene has received another movie after the one she's filming now. with Isabella. She's co-starring with Shu Qi. And guess what genre it is? Horror. blink.gif Yes, you've read it correctly. A horror movie. Uh huh, Twins' voices sound nice when mixed together, but they usually aren't on the same cue together. One of them start a line about a second earlier than the other. It's a slight technical error, but big enough for a listener to notice.

Yeah! Just like how it was for Monkey King! Both the themesong and the sub song had a cantonese and mandarin version of it, and it depends on the area it's being aired in to determine which version will be used! My guess is Patrick Tam would sing the themesong since a themesong of a martial arts series seems more suitable for a male to sing it, or a duet, but rarely a female singer alone. Then a sub song is usually more mild and calm, so I hope Gillian will be able to sing it. Maybe even two songs? 1.gif One could be personally for her character, and the other could talk about the whole triangle relationship. Of course both those should have a mandarin and cantonese version. whistle.gif

So her new movie with Shawn and Isabella is a horror movie? Didnt she specifically state before that she wasnt going to do horror movies? I remember from before that she said that she doesnt dare to watch scary movies because she will get too into the character. And now that she actually has to BE the character, isnt that very contradictory of her? Im not trying to be mean about Charlene or anything, but I think that if she really doesnt want to do such movies, that she should stick with it, especially since she couldnt even handle 49 days and it wasnt even suppose to be that scary from what the reviews said about it giving off different emotions instead of just being scary.

No, the film with Shawn and Isabella isn't a horror movie, but her upcoming film after that one is. Her new film will fall in the genre of horror and she'll be co-staring with Shu Qi. She is being contradictory. If she personally really can't handle it, then she shouldn't take it. She expressed that she gets nightmares and stuff from horror films though. unsure.gif

i think Sa's movie with Shawn and Isabella is a thriller movie, the title is Delusion, rite??? she's playing as a person with mental illness.

sooooooo charlene has a new movie with Shu Qi HUH!!! EEG definitely promotes Sa in acting !!!

just one to tell y'all, last monday i watched New Police Story on tv. I was watching the part when the name of the casts were appeared and i was waiting for daniel's name to appear.
The first was Jackie Chan..then Nicholas Tse...Charlie Young...and i was hoping the next one would be Daniel..but then it was Charlene Choi..and i was like..what the....Daniel has bigger role than Sa on that movie...so how come..ohhh..i can't understand EEG!!!

despite Wong JIng's bad reputations, i really want to thaNK HIM for the EG movie (Spy dad and Moving Targets!!) that he had made.

She had a handful of those souvenirs and about to pass them out to the people infront of her, but all of the sudden, people were calling her name from all around, so she kinda did this looking all around thing because she didn't know where to go to first! lmao.gif It was really funny! You should take a good look at that part when you get the VCD!

I'm definitely looking foward to these certain individual stage scenes of Gillian. That is true about singing wrong lyrics. I mean, if the artist is witty enough to replace the original lyrics with their own words then why couldn't the artist just work a bit more and use their witty abilities to memorize the original lyrics instead of having to fuss, searching for a new word mentally or screwing up the song.whistle.gif

Gillian is too cute. Sometimes, Gillian displays such innocence in response to a lot of things which makes her so sincere and honest. She doesn't have the clown mask to wear during a large portion of her public events. Gillian's puzzled reaction when fans screaming her name is just another example of how human she is. I mean, most stars would glorify the fact and nonetheless themselves that so many fans are scrabbling for their attention by returning a smile or smirk of conceitedness in handling the situation but seems like Gillian was just thrilled and appreciated the spotlight yet didn't boast herself too much.

I think that's a reason of why some girls don't like Gillian very much. It's because of jealousy. loool.gif Because like you said, Gillian has all the qualities that a girl would want to have. I could understand to why Gillian's performance in Monkey King was bad. Gillian got extremely sick during that time; she was in the hospital taking in a drip for days. weeping.gif
I know! I was watching that scene, and seeing that Gypsy was flowing with tears, I thought Helen would be too, considering Reeve is the only family she has. dry.gif But she just lowered her head and the camera pulled away with a bit of distance. Another thing I found dumb in TTE is how come Gypsy has to fight the Duke for such a long time and when she finally gets him down, Helen has to be the one to come in and stab him? dry.gif I found that really unnecessary for Helen to come in out of nowhere when she's been absent throughout the whole fighting scene earlier, but Gypsy was the one to kill the Duke since she hit the sword in further afterwards and that's what killed him. 1.gif

Poor Gillian. You know, when Gillian really is ill entering and exiting the hospital, rarely does that piece of news ever leak out but news of Sa's sickness always surfaces even if Sa's assistant only verbally claims the star's illness. dry.gif

Helen had an extremely long period of time to cry. The camera kept on zooming in on her a bit here and there and everytime, there still weren't any tears to show her sadness and appalling situation but everytime the camera zoomed in on Gipsy, Gillian's face would always be flooded with tears. I don't know, I guess they tried to make it seems as if Helen had a huge part of killing the main villain too even though it was Gipsy who suffered all the bruises and scratches from the start sort of ironically reflects the true situation of Twins huh? whistle.gif

It was quite annoying when the vampire held Helen up and Helen was like whining or screaming or whatever she was doing was irritating. loool.gif

Yeah, Gillian's been working pretty hard lately. Nie Yuan mentioned it on his blog. He said that both Gillian and Athena have just recently met up with the crew and they're on tight schedules, so it's pretty hard on them.

Hm, interesting. Everyone always has something to say about Gillian in their personal blogs. And since it's his personal blog like Steven, I don't think Nie Yuan is expected to compliment or mention every co-star or crew member right? Just the ones that he clicks with and obviously, it's his young Ching Ling So...Gillian. blush.gif

That host needs to really gather his facts correctly. Even though Sa produced slightly more films but it was Gillian whose results were better. harhar.gif duh.gif The host (I assumed to at least have some type of professionalism) shouldn't have compared Twins publically like that. Thank God, at least the audience was cunning enough to slap that host's jibberish. Like, what sort of question was that?? smilie.GIF

QUOTE (Little_Purple_Bell @ Mar 15 2006 6 38 AM) *
Now I really do hope that Wong Jing will ask Gillian to sing a solo song for the series and then Gillian will get some recognition about her singing, because Charlene has received another movie after the one she's filming now. with Isabella. She's co-starring with Shu Qi. And guess what genre it is? Horror. blink.gif Yes, you've read it correctly. A horror movie. And who was that who left in the middle of the film because 49 days was too scary? dry.gif This better be happening only because Gillian's majoring in singing later on. twisted.gif

Of course both those should have a mandarin and cantonese version. whistle.gif

That's why Sa's name is always pulled into this pool of unending bias towards Gillian. Sa states one thing and does the other, now that is a clear and obvious hypocrite. dry.gif I wouldn't make such of a big deal if Sa didn't run out of the 49 Days premiere and false advertised that it was too scary then later on, actually participate in a horror flick herself especially with someone like Shu Qi, I predict this horror film to be 10X scarier than 49 Days.

Sa's film with Isabella is mentally ill and I guess, this new film with Shu Qi is a full horror flick with ghosts? blink.gif Either way, I don't see the logic.

Is there an email address we can contact or petition to support Gillian in singing one of the songs for this serial?? Ah! I can't help but feel so sorry for Gillian for receiving the back seat treatment again in terms of films. Seriously, Sa is using her cast's popularity and image to promote herself. Shu Qi is pretty well known in the film industry. She too is a great actress that will probably help Sa gain more viewers. If only Gillian sang one of the songs for this serial, it would at least ease some tension. dry.gif
QUOTE (Little_Purple_Bell @ Mar 15 2006 7 52 AM) *
No, the film with Shawn and Isabella isn't a horror movie, but her upcoming film after that one is. Her new film will fall in the genre of horror and she'll be co-staring with Shu Qi. She is being contradictory. If she personally really can't handle it, then she shouldn't take it. She expressed that she gets nightmares and stuff from horror films though. unsure.gif

Hm, nightmares? Will she better not be lying or fooling around about that because she's really in for it in this new film.

i think Sa's movie with Shawn and Isabella is a thriller movie, the title is Delusion, rite??? she's playing as a person with mental illness.

sooooooo charlene has a new movie with Shu Qi HUH!!!

EEG is most definitely pushing Sa ahead of Gillian. Well, let's see about that! whistle.gif

There really is nothing special about Sa when I come to think of it now. She just has major connections and authorities promoting her, that's all. cluebat.gif

The roles in Moving Targets and Spy Dad weren't enough. I demand a real love story between EG, not just some minor snap shots of them to fulfill the EG part. twisted.gif

You know what? Skip waiting for Wong Jing or whoever to pair EG up in a love story. I'll do that myself once Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain releases on DVD or VCD and alongside that, I'll also purchase Edison's 8 Heroes so I can create another MV.

You know what? Im getting pissed off again at how Charlene has so many new movies that shes participating in, first the has the BB Project, the one with Shawn and Isabella, and now this new one with Shu Qi, while Gillian only has one new serial coming up that may not even benefit her, since its a mainland series instead of an HK movie, where she can get more exposure. You see Charlenes new upcoming movies lining up with one right after another, while Gillian has nothing. And I know about the EEG biasness issue, but still, cant they at least give one movie to Gillian? Especially since theres a chance where the flying fox series wont be aired in HK, which means even less exposure to Gillian but all on Charlene since shes going to have at least 3 movies coming out this year or so. And most likely more seeing how she has so much already and its only March.

I just hope what you guys are predicting is right, that Gillian will be taking on the singing career while Charlene takes on the acting career, cuz at least she wont be frozen like how the new Boy'z basically are. But I dont think they will really start on this yet until after their mandarin album, since Twins are really popular as 'Twins' in Taiwan, so I doubt that they will give them solos in the mandarin album. So we'll most likely have to wait until the summer or so when they come out with a new cantonese album before they actually promoting Gillian as a singer. But thats if the predictions are right. And if theyre wrong, maybe by or around 2007, all we'll see is Charlene in both movies and cds.

I know. It's quite upsetting that Sa has film after film stacking up when it has already been announced that directors demand more of Gillian. dry.gif

Hopefully, what we're predicting is right because we're giving EEG the benefit of the doubt. If it doesn't turn out that way...GR! Let the Revolution begin! 1.gif

Hey, guys...can you guys also help disperse the EG MVs through youtube links to other forums especially Chinese forums or just any forum you guys can possible spread because let's begin advertising Gillian through MVs since they attract a lot of viewers. So hopefully, as we gain support for Gillian online...it will also grow elsewhere too.

I'm currently working on the MV with Daniel and Kenny. When I'm finished with the Daniel MV, I'll also ask him to help promote it too through his website since he's quite nice about things in general.

You know Daniel? As in Daniel Wu?

I bet EEG told directors to use Char instead of Gill because Gill had a big hit with "49 Days" and now they want Char to have her hit! Goodness sometimes I really wanna knock some sense into EEG head! If they wanted them to start out as Twins they should continue being Twins! Not cute anymore but have the same amount of work! Damn! If Char have 3 movies this year Gill should at least have 2! "49 Days" is part of 2005 movie right? And if it is she got not movies so far this year! And you wanna bet more and more directors use Char in there production?

And if Char does feel some what of sorry for Gill why can't she reject them and tell them to use Gill instead? And if she repects Gill she'll talk will EEG and lettting Gillian have more promotion and movies.. to no.. I bet she was to hog them up for herself! shock.gif <------ Not shocking!

I WANT TVB TO PROMOTE CONSCIENCE DISCOVERY!!!

If EEG had use EG has the golden couple then EG will be as famous as AS is now.. look at how much money Gold Label is making because of AS.. they use them to make money and to promote themselves! Goodness why can't EEG be smart for once? Maybe because there heads are stuffed up with sh*t!

I know what you mean. Just memorizing the original lyrics would've been the best thing to do. I hate it when singers replace the original lyrics with their own words. The song just doesn't sound as nice and original if you're familiar with the song, and you're expecting the lyrics to come out a certain way, but they don't. Gillian did the replacing thing once during the concert; it was during Lyricist's Fault, but amazingly both Twins made the same mistake at the same time. Charlene did it multiple times throughout the concert.

Gillian is one of those minorities who appear to be true. It's true that most stars just take it like nothing, not exactly ignoring but won't give a really puzzled reaction towards it. I read this message from an Australian fan who claimed that he/she liked Twins equally at first, but switched to liking Charlene more after Twins' concert in Australia because Gillian didn't sign an autograph but Charlene did? duh.gif And because Gillian didn't smile a lot or look enthusiastic. It was so dumb. Look, the person seemed so upright about it that he/she forgot that it was actually Twins' lunch hour then, meaning it's their private time to eat, so being fans, shouldn't the people actually be considerate enough to let them eat in peace? Another thing is, if he/she was such a fan, he/she would've known that Gillian's grandfather was in the hospital fighting for his life at the same time that Gillian had to be doing a concert. Unfortunately, he didn't make it...... weeping.gif Fans should really stop being so shallow about things; artists have lives and emotions too. For all that Gillian and Gillian fans care, he/she can go right along to being a Charlene fan and try to grow up while doing that.

Gillian rarely expresses her illness out; if she were to mention it, Gillian would usually say it a while after it has happened. Like she brought her hospital experience while filming Monkey King up during a radio interview about '49 Days' since the host asked her about being in Mainland, and how it's easy to get sick, so she just answered that she's been in Mainland to film Monkey King before, and she has gotten to be ill and had to take a drip. She wouldn't say it when it happened just for attention.

I gave Helen a benefit of a doubt when Reeve had been strangling her. Perhaps she was strangled too much to be crying? It didn't make sense that Reeve held both Gypsy and Helen by the neck, but he was strangling Helen only. I guess they had to make Gyspy make a decision of whether to kill him or not. But I didn't accept it when Helen didn't drop a single tear for her brother after he was stabbed and had let go of her neck. I still don't see how Helen's part of killing the Duke. I didn't even see of how Helen suddenly knew how to slay vampries. Yes, and it's pretty dumb of how Gyspy had to injured that much beforehand when they ended with how Gyspy and Helen killed him 'together' *ahem*. dry.gif

Yeah, '49 Days' had some criticisms of how it wasn't scary enough, so if Charlene supposedly can't handle that, how's she gonna handle a film with Shu Qi? I mean, Shu Qi's films are usually quite serious; if she expresses it as a horror flick, then it's gotta be scary. I highly doubt it'd be how '49 Days' was. Maybe EEG's just seeing how Gillian made a big hit with a film advertised as a horror flick, and decided Charlene should do the same to achieve the same results. You know what sucks? '49 Days' is forbidden to be shown in certain parts of Mainland because it supposedly is a horror flick. That cuts down a lot on its total box office results. It could've been even better than how it is now! Stupid Mainland people........

I know! We all understand the fact that towards EEG, it has always been Gillian < Charlene, but we still can't help but be mad! There's no way we can believe that Gillian has no HK film offers if Charlene has at least three at the moment! It also sucks that '49 Days' is considered to be Gillian's 2006 movie, so that might be her one film right there. I want "Little Sparks" to go back in production, if not, then have a new film for Gillian to work on. One good quality film with a good script; that's all we ask. I won't mind if Gillian doesn't have a whole stack of films for this year as long as she has one or two films that have a good script for her to show her acting in. Sometimes quality weighs more than quantity, but that sure doesn't work for Gillian when she has none, well technically one, film this year, but people will probably have forgotten about '49 Days' towards the end of the year. down.gif

I hope our prediction is right as well. I don't want Gillian to be frozen because obviously she's the more popular of the two; the only problem is that EEG doesn't like her as much. But you know what? Gillian has said something really weird and out of the ordinary during an interview in Taiwan. What did Gillian mean 'artistes who have their career based on acting'? Am I thinking too much to feel that she's hinting at something? Or do I just feel that way because that's what I want to believe? unsure.gif

about how a long while ago, EEG got threats from KC fans for Gillian to back off from Kenny, I seriously think that's is a cruddy method. Does it really take threats for EEG to make up their minds? Maybe if we send threats to EEG to stop promoting Sa so much, they'll stop XP j/k I seriously didn't mean that

But really, why does Sa get so many more movies than Gillian? It's not like Gillian lacks any talent that Sa has. And if Gillian does get any parts in movies, it always seems that her parts are so small. Sa gets like, 3 movies(or more) a year while Gillian has only around 1 every year. But if you look at in a different perspective, if Gillian films less movies a year, more Gillian fans will watch her movies more. For example, one time, I got so obsessed with a movie I went to the Cinema and watched it 3 times. I still ended up buying the DVD tongue.gif Anyways, if there are more viewers(Whom are the ones who watch the movie repeatedly), the movie ratings would be higher, and in a way, it'd prove how Gillian is very porpular in the entertainment industry.

I would say I'm angry at Sa for saying the movie, 49 Days is scary and not going to the premier, then get a role in another horror movie. But I won't. It seems that this topic will be turning into a Anti-Sa topic.

Anyways, I have a random idea. If we start a petition and get Gillian fans from around the world to sign it, maybe we can show EEG how disappointed most people are for not being as fair to Gillian. o.o Just a thought :]

I wish you guys would stop saying that just because Charlene doesn't like scary movies she wouldn't star in one. She refused film the Death Curse at first, but I think she was forced to be EEG afterwards. After filming the Death Curse Charlene said in an interview that it was not scary filming it because there were so many lights around.
So I think that proves that it is not scary for her to film and star in horror movies only to watch them. And I don't think she was being rude for walking out of the 49 Days because some people are like that and really can't stand watching horror.

well, i can cope with that argument, but if i were Sa, i would at least try to stay. i mean, i dread horror movies, but i'm watching this b/c Gillian is in it. i just want to say that, but i mean no harm...
if Sa was forced by EEG to film Death Curse, couldn't she just refuse(and she shouldn't be forced anyways)? if EEG's members can think clearly, they would probably rather just keep Sa in the company rather than making her film a movie she is unwilling to film.
i guess it's true anyways that filming horror movies wouldn't be scary anyways, since they add tons of special effects ^^"

I know some people were complaining about Sa's character in TTE...but wasn't Gillian originally suppose to do Helen? Thats what I heard, anyway. I don't mean anything by it, just you all were talking about it and it reminded me to ask the question, to see if you all knew if it was true or not smile.gif

And oh...it sort of makes sense to me that Helen didn't cry and Gypsy did, because Gypsy knew ahead of time that she was gonna have to kill Reeve, but Helen wasn't aware, really. Though there wasn't tears falling down Helen's face I thought her reaction was pretty convincing. Myabe she was too shocked to cry? I don't know. But I don't think Helen didn't cry becuase Sa doesn't posses the ability to cry - because she does.

Okay, enough of Helen...I really want to watch 49 Days!

And I hope Gill has more movies lined up that we don't know about smile.gif

In order for Gillian to hint something like that, there must be something we, the public, cannot see yet. It is quite odd because in previous interviews, Gillian has never really divided or labelled herself as a singer or an actress but instead referred to herself as both. blink.gif

Hm, oh...then let's see if she runs out of her own premiere later on. dry.gif

Yeah, Helen was originally Gillian's role but they switched it. Even if Gillian had portrayed Helen, it would had turned out different anyways since each actress adds a different flavor to each character.

Um, in Asian films...crying is one of the most important element an actress possesses. Frankly, Sa has yet to confront a crying scene successfully. whistle.gif

Didn't know that producing tears was held in such high esteem in Hk. Well there's still a lot I have to learn about HK entertainment, so I don't doubt it. And I agree with you about different actresses woudl equal different portrayals.

Really? I thought Sa cried pretty well in Papa Loves You and so did my family. And in MV's, she does well too. But, of course, it's all just opinion so I won't argue with you.

Anyway, Gillian, yeah? I am gonna buy a Gill movie soon because I don't have enough - what should I buy? I already have Moving Targets, BOK, and House of Fury. I was thinking maybe If U Care or that movie where she was blind....whats the name of that? Happy go Lucky? I also wannna get The Colour of Truth but Gill's roll is small in that one...But it seems like a good movie...

But Charlene has said earlier that she completely refuses to film horror films, though she did say that she'll take the salary into consideration. Even if she's afraid of horror films, '49 Days' wasn't an exact horror film. Many have stated that. Anyway, I guess we should stop placing so many comments on Charlene since this is a Gillian thread. So let's just drop the thing about Charlene and her horror film, ok? smile.gif

Yeah, Gillian was originally supposed to do Helen and Charlene was supposed to be Gyspy. Something happened along the way to cause a role swap, I'm guessing. I do wonder how it would've been if the switch hadn't been done? Hmm.... we would've had EG covering a decent screentime of the film, that's for sure. laugh.gif

I still think Helen should've cried. She was shocked, but I'd imagine she would start crying after Reeve died, if not then at least start tearing. Shouldn't the astonishment for Helen be even greater than for Gyspy because it suddenly happened infront her eyes and Gyspy had known about it? Anyway, I think both Gyspy and Helen should've cried. I don't know about Charlene's ability to cry because the only scene I can think of now of her crying was the scene in All About Love and she was just an image of Andy's, just standing there with two rows of tears, so I can't judge on that.

In American films, crying isn't considered crucial but yes, in the Asian hemisphere, tears convey a lot.

Hm, personally...the only crying scene I believe Sa performed well was Disgrace EEG Version.

Moving Targets, you could skip. 1.gif As for the rest, they're all pretty good but really depends if you want to watch Gillian kick butt, vengeful towards love, purely cute, or blindly innocent.

Hm, well...isn't it a give away already that both Twins cannot enter both arenas at the same time, too risky and chaotic for both? So I guess, they both eventually have to choose which area to concentrate on.

Thanks Litte_Purple_Bells for the concert screencaps!! Am I just thinking too much about the Gold and Silver outfits in the concert...I dunno but it seems like there are some kind of meaning for Charlene to wear the Gold color outfit while Gillian is wearing the Silver one....Gold is usually more valuable and 'better' in a lot of people's view..hmm..but to me I think Silver is so much for pleasing to the eyes and more popular...lolx..

And does anyone notice that Gillian is always the one that's more conservative in the outfits Twins wear?? I'm not complaining because I think it's good Gillian doesn't have to show so much but why is that the case??

question: how the hell charlene was in blue then came out in the yellow thingy? she left ah lam on stage? but shouldnt he have sung? or unless EEG cut it?

Yeah, Charlene left Ah Lam on stage while she went in to change. Ah Lam did sing a song by himself before Charlene came back out with Gillian, but EEG cut it out. They cut Isabella's solo performance out too, and only left "Next Stop Diva Queen" in since Twins sang it too. It's even worse for Leo Ku. They cut him out completely. Twins sang "Genius And Idiot" with him, but EEG snipped it out. It was quite weird to be watching the VCD and have Twins wearing one outfit, and then be changed already into a different outfit in the next immediate scene after they take a shot at the audience. happy.gif' It's probably because Leo is from a different record company.

Here's an article that Nie Yuan wrote that I translated; it's about filming Ching Ling So (Gillian)'s dying scene.

As soon as Gillian finally reported back to the crew, the director and I started to relax, for I finally don't have to be 'talking to myself' during certain scenes; our director can also smoothly finish the last one of the grand scenes of the series before moving on to our next filming location. The last one of the grand scenes is no other than 'The Death Of Ching Ling So.'

'Ching Ling So' is an out of the ordinary kind of girl when compared to all the other girls that JinYong has written before. Comparing looks, she's not as pure and gorgeous as "Wong Yu Yin' or 'Siu Long Nui' is, and when comparing cuteness, she doesn't appear to have the mild and naive characteristic as 'Kwok Fu' or 'Siu Chiu' do. She doesn't have extraordinary martial arts, and doesn't come from a famous martial arts family. Even though she is clever and smart with a calm and concealed personality, Ching Ling So is just an ordinary girl who can't be more ordinary. Looking at this girl, even if she were to step right infront of your eyes, I'm afraid she would be ignored by the eyes of human nature. Could this girl really be the female lead of a romance story? How did this girl make everyone cry for her uncontrollably? When speaking about "A Chinese Odyssey", Stephen Chow has once said, "Behind everything that is able to send a sense of touching towards others is none other than the word, 'love'." The fairy, ZiHa, was like this, and naturally, same goes for Ching Ling So.

The first time watching "Flying Fox And Snowy Mountain", I was quite idiotic back then. I was enhanced by things like "Knife Techniques Of The Wu Family" and completely ignoring the romance in between. Of course at that time, I didn't know that years later, I would become an actor; therefore, having no idea that I would've became 'Wu Fei' either. The most updated filming plan was just given to me yesterday. I had many scenes to film today. There are fighting scenes, simple scenes, even scenes of where I have to be hung by wires, and the words 'The Death Of Ching Ling So' had been included within the bunch, yet I didn't especially take notice of it.

I have once joked, "Gillian is the most beautiful 'Ching Ling So' within dated history!" Yet the touching facts of 'Ching Ling So' has never been associated with the word 'looks'. Gillian has understood that. Because of this fact, Gillian has never taken her beauty as a tool while acting; she even tries to simplify how she looks. She puts a lot of her acting within her eyes. With this point, I'm guessing is when she truly and completely connects with the character 'Ching Ling So'. I have memorized 'Wu Fei''s lines to heart already, yet no matter how many times I've imagined of how this scene will go, it didn't compare one bit to how shocking it was during the actual scene. I could never find out, if there really was such a person named 'Wu Fei', how he would've felt at that time. But I can say for, when I looked at her, and saw how she was suffering from the pain of poison beacuse of me, seeing how her life was running away as if it were quicksand, my heart felt like it was being sliced open. I started hating on her; I hated how she was determined to save my life, yet I could do nothing about it. I hated how she appeared to be so strong, yet she's already been hurt by the effects of love a long time ago. I hate how she fortifies with each step she takes and figures everything out before taking action; I hate her even more for making my life so solemn and grave, yet I have no chance of rejecting it. She silently leaned against me; she was so petite and weak with her pale face. I started thinking, "Without her, how lonely am I going to be?"

Just when the director yelled, "Cut!", Gillian and I already had a face full of tears, and sweating heavily too. There are time of when I suddenly wake up at night due to a frightening dream, I would need several moments to bring myself back, and then I would silently rejoice to myself, "It's good that it was only a dream!"

down.gif This description alone is too heart jerking; I seriously want to watch the serial now. wavecry.gif Nie Yuan not only is such a great actor but a wonderful writer too, so detailed. I guess, Nie Yuan and Gillian bonded quite fast. Ever since their interaction, Nie Yuan has only complimented Gillian endlessly.

I especially loved the way how he compared Ching Ling So to JinYong's other leading ladies but in the end, being such an ordinary woman, Ching Ling So somehow impacts Wu Fei the most with her death in comparison to the other tragic love stories.

Wow, Nie Yuan really amazes me how dedicated, sincere, and passionate he is at portraying Wu Fei during this particular Ching Ling So death scene. I mean, he practically memorized his lines by heart? shock.gif==> That is deep and conveys a lot about the importance of the scene to Nie Yuan. Wonder if the scene would had been any different if Gillian wasn't Ching Ling So? I can't wait to watch how convincing Gillian portrays being painfully poisoned and gently leans on Wu Fei while death secretly creeps upon her.

Hopefully, Wong Jing created an extremely romantic environment. I mean, come on. It's Ching Ling So's final scene, she should at least have Wu Fei ALL to herself for the very first and last time in her life. weeping.gif

AH- Just reading how both Nie Yuan and Gillian's faces were flooded with sweat, blood, and tears is just too overwhelming; I'm going insane. wacko.gif

I guess, this scene did impact Nie Yuan a whole lot; the guy still reminisces about this tragic death portrayed by Gillian in his dreams..that is indeed ardently astonishing.

Well, at least Nie Yuan understands that Gillian doesn't use her beauty as an actress but rather her abilities. And aw, it's so nice how he quoted Gillian as being the most beautiful Ching Ling So blush.gif ; I believe so too alongside with Michelle R.

Thanks Little_Purple_Bell for sharing this lovely piece of writing. I would have never known how profound Nie Yuan is and how well Gillian has been progressing.

So that means...Gillian is DONE filming in Mainland! Yay! yeah.gif

Thanks for this piece of Translation!! Wow...the way he described what he felt when he was filming the scene was so deep and emotional!! wavecry.gif Reading about this makes me feel pretty sad already..let alone when I actually see the scene!! I wonder if Gillian and Nie Yuan have chemistry?? If they have good chemistry it would just totally kill me to see how "Wu Fei" isn't in love with "Ching So Ling" aside from the fact of her everlastin love for him!!

I can't wait for this series to release!! So Gillian is really finish filming this series?? Wow...so fast..or is it like how some directors like to..where they skip from scene to scene?? But if it's finish..I think it's a little too rushed even though Gillian's character is not the main lead but her character should still have a lot of screentime. On the other side..I kind of glad because that means Gillian will be back to Hong Kong and the series will come out soon!! yeah.gif

Oh, um...it's ok. This clip is enough I hope. Thanks.

I should be done by the end of this weekend. happy.gif' I've already gathered some matching clips but with this final clip, the MV should be progessing now. blush.gif
down.gif This description alone is too heart jerking; I seriously want to watch the serial now. wavecry.gif Nie Yuan not only is such a great actor but a wonderful writer too, so detailed.

Yay! yeah.gif

GILLIAN SUPPORTER!!!

I thought that they were just done filming in an area? And that Gillians part where she died is in that area where they just finished filming, so is Gillian really done? Or is she going to go to the new filming area too?

Hhmm... I wonder if TVB sees how good Gillian acts in this series and asks her to star in one of their series. That would be GREAT! By the way, does anyone know when that series that has Gillian guest starring as an assassin will come out? Its the one that has Dave Wong and Ada Choi in it and its somewhat old/modern time. Because I remember they filmed this like around the end of 2004 and Ive seen two screencaps of it, but I havent heard any news about it for over a year now and Im wondering if theyre going to release it. Does anyone have any news on it or know anything else about it?

Haha. blink.gif I was too excited that I didn't catch that. Hm, I don't know either. Gillian's Ching Ling So could be finished already because filming for this particular serial is moving so fast considering that the crew and cast film all day and night.

But wouldn't it be odd to watch the death scene when it was one of Gillian's first scenes filmed?? blink.gif Hm, I don't like it like that. I wish they would film in sequence. I've watched serials where the male lead begins with long hair then later on all of a sudden has short hair indicating that they filmed the final scenes first and ruined the sequence and no, the male lead didn't get a surprise haircut. loool.gif

I mean, the death scene is Ching Ling So's most important scene in the entire novel. Nie Yuan and Gillian should bond first, share chemistry, and then film the death scene. The death scene takes a lot of emotions to portray so it would be best if the two actors could communicate mentally and emotionally with each other through a period of behind the scenes interactions because it would be depressing to watch a sorrowful death scene when the two actors don't have any emotions or chemistry towards each other. And it would be even funnier if Wu Fei and Ching Ling So shared a lot of chemistry towards each other in all of the scenes up until the death scene because they decided to film that part first when Nie Yuan and Gillian haven't developed a close friendship yet. But it seems like Nie Yuan and Gillian hit it off pretty well. Can't wait to watch it!

I apologize if I mislead anyone. blush.gif

The thing about TVB is: they rarely support or promote official singers as leads in their serials. TVB already has their own favored family of actors and actresses so they probably won't invite Gillian to work for them even if Gillian performed an outstanding portrayal and plus, TVB serials currently haven't been as highly anticipated or high quality like they used to be in terms of storyline so it's not much loss if Gillian doesn't participate in a TVB serial. TVB tends to be quite strict and bias too in heavily promoting some stars while leaving some in the dust not to mention any names similar to EEG that's why a lot of TVB stars have said goodbye and entered the Mainland market. We wouldn't want Gillian to get stuck in another bias bind would we? unsure.gif

I don't think Gillian's finished her scenes just yet. They films scenes according to location. Now they've finished with this one, they are going to pack up and move onto the next location.

Hap Yee Juen Kei was originally supposed to be shown at the same time as Central Affairs and The Great Adventurer on ATV, which was about the end of last year and the beginning of this year, but there was a problem with the copyrights of Mainland with that series. That's the last I've heard of it. We don't know if the problem's still going on or if it's solved. I hope it'll be solved and aired soon. Gillian had five episodes' worth of screentime in there. Well, this is one thing that EEG invests in and actually lets Gillian in on it. dry.gif

Well, Gillian's only been filming for about 12 days or so, so she could be maybe half done her screentime? Her character's not huge, but she probably still has a decent amount of screentime. I think this series is going really fast as well, just look at how tired everyone is. They've got all the important scenes filmed as Nie Yuan said, so I'm guessing they have just the regular plot scenes to finish off now in another location? This scene could be what lights off Gillian and Nie Yuan's chemistry, but I can see what you're worrying about. It would suck to see two people share an awesome chemistry thoughout, but all of the sudden to the best scene between them, you'd be like, "Huh? What happened?" But I think Gillian and Nie Yuan are good enough actors/actresses to stand the scene up, seeing how Nie Yuan remembers it so detailedly. Gillian sure gave him a hard impression from the scene.

TVB series nowadays really aren't as promising as they were earlier. There are some that are worth watching though, but rare. It seems like more singers are trying to get a role in TVB series now since it does provide exposure. They rarely get a first leading role though; Ella Koon was second female lead in RDOV and Toby Leung is the second female lead of another series. Fiona Sit was the one who actually got a first female lead role, but her role was originally supposed to be Myolie Wu's, so we could figure why. The second thing is they all have to co-star with Ron Ng for starters. lmao.gif It also has to depend if TVB likes the artiste or not. TVB is a favour of biased issues. I have read on the TVB message board once of this person requesting for TVB to get Twins to star in a series with TVB's 'Double Dragons' Ron Ng and Raymond Lam though, specifically requesting for Ron to pair with Gillian and Charlene with Raymond. happy.gif' Those choices both have an upside and a downside. Pairing with Ron would mean that the girl would be the first female lead since Ron obviously would be the first male lead, but Raymond does have better acting. *shrugs* Anyway, for my personal opinion, I wouldn't mind whether Gillian stars in TVB series or not. If she does, it provides exposure though it is more time consuming; if she doesn't, like you said, not much loss is in for Gillian. If TVB does have some favour for Gillian, I'd rather them do her a favour on the music charts instead. whistle.gif

But I think Gillian and Nie Yuan are good enough actors/actresses to stand the scene up, seeing how Nie Yuan remembers it so detailedly. Gillian sure gave him a hard impression from the scene.

Hm, after witnessing how well Nie Yuan and Gillian collaborated on one of the most traumatic scenes, hopefully Wong Jing invests more in this pair than expected or the usual since he's known for changing events of a story anyways. 1.gif Let's hope he adds more scenes of the pair together because even though Gillian will reside in Mainland longer but for the success of the serial and more exposure...I wouldn't mind her staying in Mainland longer. happy.gif'

Also, there's another music awards ceremony called 東方風雲榜 on March 25th in Mainland, and Gillian will be attending alone because Charlene is in Thailand. Hm.... I guess we don't have to worry about Gillian's exposure issue since she nearly attends a function once every one or two weeks during her filming. Hope it's not too labourious for her though. blush.gif

When I first saw that picture, it reminded me of Gillians outfit in TTE2, and then when I scrolled down, they provided some pictures of it too. Even though the outfits are similar, it still looks nice. It looks like Gillians pretty cold. Hope that she doesnt get sick while filming.

Since Gillian films in mainland China while Charlene films in Thailand, it seems easier for Gillian to attend functions than Charlene. So it'll be pretty good since Gillian can do the solo singing and show off her ability to sing well alone, well like I said before, if EEG does intend on keeping a singing career for Gillian. I cant really tell right now if she is going to take that route since there hasnt really been too much solo singing functions for her, maybe later on in the year we can be more sure about which route EEG will be giving Gillian. Let's hope that they do give her one at least.

Also, I just saw pictures posted at TC on the mv for 'Story in Texas' and it seems like theyre starting to promote Steven a bit more now with Twins. Since he was their Golden Dream House Mv, 49 Days, and now this Mv. It doesnt really relate to Gillian that much but just wanted to tell you guys.

Oh and one more thing, I just saw/read at that site that Little_Purple_Bell provided and it has pictures of Gillians double. Does anyone know why she has a double for? She's not doing any action scene so I dont see why she would need one.

If TVB does have some favour for Gillian, I'd rather them do her a favour on the music charts instead. whistle.gif

Really? I find that even though TVB heavily promotes Ron in both singing and acting, Raymond still ends up on the top in all areas. For instance, their serial Twins of Brothers or Double Dragons (?), Raymond was the lead wasn't he?...so his leading ladies were also the lead females too. Raymond, Tavia, and Li Qian all had bigger roles and a bit more screentime except for Nancy, she had a lot of screentime too but in terms of importance, all of the ladies including Leila ranked equally to the overall plot. He's much more appealing than Ron, can act better, and can sing live decently too that's probably why Ray sings the theme songs for almost all of his serials.

Fiona? She obviously has a whole bunch of authorities in her favor. Seriously. whistle.gif

Thanks for the link. Wow, Nie Yuan looks pretty nice as Wu Fei. This serial is surpassing my expectations. So I guess the curly hair does work with Nie Yuan. laugh.gif

Ching Ling So does remind of Blue Bird in TE II too but I guess that is supposed to be the case because both characters aren't into beauty so their outfits are plain but Gillian still looks gorgeous and so mature as Ching Ling So. Seeing Gillian next to Nie Yuan, can't help but cheer them on. Hopefully, this serial will be a huge huge success in all regions and requests for Nie Yuan and Gillian to film another serial as leads together would result. I know that serials take quite a bit of time especially for leads but if Gillian does gain a huge reputation for this serial and another serial was requested, why not jump on the band wagon while it's still hot and it would be her first time being a female for a serial. I know, I would love that. happy.gif'

That's great news that Gillian will attend another music award alone; let's hope more solo performances head her way. yeah.gif

Hm, don't know about the double thing either.

Nie Yuan as Wu Fei. I got it off 团扇上的风景 's banner at the provided link above. Nie Yuan looks quite handsome and convincing as Wu Fei. Just from the still pictures, seems like Nie Yuan's Wu Fei will certainly exceed Sunny Chan's version of 1999 TVB.

QUOTE ( @ Mar 17 2006 12 00 AM) *

Thanks for the translation. It's indeed quite detailed and nicely written. I can kind of imagine how the scene will be like already, just by reading this. I guess it's afterall not that bad of a choice to film the series...since
it seems like Gillian will be able to shine with such a like-able character as Ching Ling So. I just hope TVB will air this when it's finished filming, and not ATV.

As for singing, Gillian seems to have the upper hand, since she has performed alone a few times already...and Charlene has yet not been given that opportunity. But who knows EEG might surprise us with some twist and turns.

About Gillian not having movie offers...that's suspsicious to me...I think the roles Charlene is playing would be safer given to Gillian by judging from their past roles..If you were a director, who would you trust these roles with...Gillian is successful with all the different roles she portrays wonderfully (in my opinion) while Charlene is recognized in acting comedies...It's funny how suddenly Charlene has offers with roles so different from her usual comedy-based films and each role of different from the other too. It does seem a bit abrupt that all of a sudden Sa switches 360 degrees but I guess she has to start somewhere, can't be portraying comedic roles all the time.

Gillian definitely has more film offers considering her latest success but we all know where EEG has placed her in their priorities. dry.gif

It's actually pretty good that Gillian gets attend functions alone and perform alone too. 1.gif I hope she sings a different song from "Hover Bird" and "Starlight Amusement Park", so that we'll have another Gillian solo version of another Twins song. infatuated.gif I do hope that EEG does intend to keep Gillian in the singing area. Maybe EEG is making progress on that, but just slow on it along with everything else that's Gillian-related? down.gif You know what I think? EEG probably just needs to find themselves excuses to start promoting Gillian. Many people do need excuses to decept themselves for a motivation to start doing something that they don't exactly want to. EEG obviously favours and wants to promote Charlene more, yet they can't lie to themselves to say that Gillian is talentless and fanless, can they? So they just have to tell themselves that Charlene has a big filming load, so she shouldn't be running around to attend singing functions/ceremonies, so let's just let Gillian go alone, okay? cluebat.gif Then while Gillian is there, she'll sing solo and see how people accept that? The result is no one has any complaints, comments are given that Gillian sang really well, and the cheering was crazy. Just listen to how long people were screaming, "Gillian!" at the end of "Hover Bird". yeah.gif

I think Gillian does have some action scenes, just not a lot; she'll mostly be working with poison in the series? It is a martial arts series, and isn't Miu Yeurk Lan the only girl in there who doesn't know martial arts? Either way, I don't understand why she has a double either. Gillian has refused to use a double while filming House Of Fury, and the actions in there were probably 10X harder than the ones in this series. blink.gif

Nowadays, I swear if Ron and Raymond were to co-star in another series, the first leading man would definitely be Ron. TVB loves Ron because all those little girls and housewives love him. Raymond is stuck with all those second male lead roles now. I think he got demoted even further down to third male lead in the one he's filming now, but it's true that he has more talents. I can't believe Ron released a CD before Raymond either. To sum it up, why is it that the outgoing one always takes the spotlight from the more mild one? Is that some kind of principle of human nature or something? blink.gif

It could be that the characters have something in common as you've said, or maybe the costume designer has just watched TTE II and rigged the costume off Blue Bird. dry.gif It could happen. Anyway, even with a plain costume, Gillian still looks nice; it's quite suitable for the ordinary girl role. I hope this series will be a huge success, and Gillian can polish her name from it. Then Mainland provinces can air over and over again, letting people see how great it is. I think Gillian will bring along many improvements with this series, then she'll gain some support from the usual TV viewers.

It is true that most of the exposure that Steven's gotten after the regroup of Boy'Z is Gillian-related. laugh.gif It's weird how there are supporters for KG, KC, and SC, but rarely are there supporters for SG. Maybe it's because they haven't really paired up that much. The Death Curse - Brother/Sister, 6AM - Idol/Fan, and Yat Hei Hot Choi (online series) - Gillian was this girl that Steven played in school? Anyway, I really thought that when Boy'Z regrouped, Steven would come up to pair with Gillian and Charlene would go with Dennis during the Twins concerts in Mainland since they like pairing the older member with the older member and younger with younger like KG and SC, but apparently not. Then it seemed logical since Dennis is the one who is 'replacing' Kenny, and Gillian is usually Kenny's partner, so.... yeah. happy.gif' Gillian was so stiff when holding hands with Dennis that it's not even funny; Steven and Charlene looked like they were having a lot of fun together during the concert though. smile.gif

It seems like Gillian is running around between Kenny and Steven at the moment. Gillian added plenty of attraction for Kenny's album because of the duet, and their duet is going more fine than ever. innocent.gif Gillian's giving a helping hand to Steven in the acting part of his career since his singing one's not budging. Another reason that I really want to see '49 Days' is because some viewers have said that the chemistry and scenes between Gillian and her family which is her dad, Wong Yat Fei, and her cousin, Steven, were really good and funny.

She has performed alone, and there were no revolutions against it, were there? It shows that people can accept Gillian being on stage performing alone. I just hope what we're thinking really is going to happen. The last thing we'd want is for EEG to make up some evil plan of letting Charlene develop on films while they get Gillian to keep the singing area of Twins going, but when Charlene gets her part done in the acting industry, they put Gillian back on hold while Charlene comes out to sing more. *touchwood*

I'm not too fond of Ron pairing with Gillian either, but they've worked together before during the TVB Singers' Anniversary already. If Gillian has a chance to be in a TVB series, she should just get a guest star role that's significant and important to the plot. That way, she can leave a deep impression in on the viewers, yet she doesn't have to spend so much of her time on it. She should also stop acting as "Ah Giu" in all the TVB series she's been in. But I really hope that she'll become what her role was in Triumph in the Skies. Maybe someday we can really hear the media introduce Gillian as is, "Our little singing queen of the music industry, Gillian Chung, has arrived.........." as they said on Triumph in the Skies, but it ruins it all when we see all the banners in the background which have, "Twins", written on it. n_thumbdown.gif

Does anyone else think that Raymond and Nie Yuan have a bit of resemblance with each other on the looks? Because I looked at a photo of Nie Yuan on his blog wearing modern clothes, and for a split second, I thought he looked like Raymond. blink.gif

I'm glad Gillian will be having a chance to sing solo again!! I wonder what song she will sing this time..Kindergarten?? clapping.gif But it's such a huzzle for Gillian to be rushing around to a function then go back to filming and then another function. I hope Gillian don't get too tired and sick *knock on wood* happy.gif'
Even if that's not the case..from her success in her recent film '49 Days', wouldn't directors be interested for Gillian to be in their movie...so it's really hard to believe that Gillian has no offers. duh.gif There's so such loose ends that makes me suspect but shouldn't say more..I think I would start not making sense..lolx

I do hope she sings Kindergarten! infatuated.gif It's such a nice song with high notes! Oh, I hope she does! I hope it's not too hard on Gillian to be rushing around to two places with a tight schedule. I highly doubt that Gillian doesn't have any movie offers, but we know how EEG is, so let's not be surprised. The director of BOK has once said that Gillian actually does have a lot of potential with acting, yet within most Twins movies, her quiet and calm characters are just frequently shadowed off by Charlene's usual jolly and outspoken characters and also because everything is always focused on Charlene. <-- Quoted from Director Pang, not me. It's funny because he said that he used to hate watching girls cry, but amazingly he just loves to watch Gillian cry because she can cry so beautifully. dance.gif

If Gill sings solo I hope all fans could see she could manage without Charlene and maybe Charlene can't manage without Gill because we never heard Charlene sing solo since shes sooo busy with her acting career. I mean why can't EEG let Gill act too? Well if they do split I just hope Gill stills stay in singing and Charlene could act all she wants.

The award ceremony is going to be in mando right?
