No offense or anything, I can truthfully say that Charlene's voice is a stable one, but it isn't anywhere close to being versatile. Her voice sounds nearly the same in all her songs. I've also noticed that Charlene's voice can only be considered to be strong when singing songs that stay on similar notes; during the 2006 Concert, it felt like her voice was on the verge of cracking when she was singing her solos, especially when singing Love Is The Biggest Right. Charlene's performance was better during Twins songs. Ironically, Gillian's best part was during her solo.

' It was actually the part that left most 'mature' impression through the concert in my opinion. It was quite funny of watching the part of the concert after Gillian's solo and she said, "Let's give a round of cheering to welcome Ah Sa!" and she was being lowered down off the stage. The audience was cheering alright, but they were still screaming, "Giu!" until Gillian was out of sight.

You could only catch that when watching the VCD; the CD wiped most of the cheering out.
Hm, I haven't seen the concert yet but am dying to now but I guess I'll water my extremely critical habit because if what you guys are saying is true which I have no doubts at all then I don't want to sound too harsh on Sa later when I actually do get a chance to watch the concert and her solos; well, even then technically it's the truth or more so like we're just expressing our own personal opinions.
Gillian does seem to have a lot of support during concerts, functions, and activities etc...that's wonderful.

Sometimes it's such a bad thing to be beautiful in the acting industry. Everyone just automatically stereotypes that a beauty can't act, and they never look into deep enough to discover one's acting skills. I think Blue Bird was the turning point of Gillian's acting career. See? It's not until the girl gets down with her hands and skills that people finally do some acknowledging. I liked the fighting scene between Blue Bird and 13th Young Master, but not the one between Gypsy and Helen. The one with Gypsy and Helen was pretty much pointless and even childish if I must say. There's actually a reason for Blue Bird and 13th Young Master to be fighting; it also builds Blue Bird's character. We see her as a cold Imperial Enforcer at first, but even though 13th Young Master had been annoying and picking a fight with her over dumbbells, Blue Bird still saved her from Fan Bing Bing's character when she was going shoot her dagger at 13th Young Master.
That seems to be the unending blind judgment on Gillian unfortunately. Seriously, most of these fans are females and even though they don't admit it but there is obviously some tension there perhaps Gillian possess it all: the beauty, the image, the figure, the stardom, the men!!

Gillian is a decent actress. The only project she failed was Monkey King. She was quite fake and stiff in that serial but she gradually improved with each new film up until now, she has become a great actress whether people want to accept that or not.
Blue Bird was such a professional. She didn't mix personal disputes with work; thus, saving 13th Young Master when she could have solved the annoyance with the flying dagger.

Gillian portrays such cool characters.

It's a weird thing. Have you ever wondered why Gillian's solo movies never affect what people think of Twins, yet Charlene's solo movies have a huge impact on people's impressions of Twins as a whole? Whether results are positive or negative, it's like that.

It's just like how it was with A Chinese Tall Story. When it made a flop, people would claim that the movies nowadays are failing because they're depending on talentless idols like
Twins when Gillian was nowhere in that particular movie. Nothing affected Twins when Happy Go Lucky made a flop. Perhaps people understood that the flop had nothing to do with the plot nor the cast, but just the taste of HK? Same goes with the positive results. Gillian makes a great hit on with Beyond Our Ken/49 Days; the recognition is hers to take, which is reasonable, but when Charlene has various films, the directors of those films suddenly come out to voicing that
Twins have great potential?

'
Hm, precise observations. That does seem to be the case. That's why when news articles and magazines boast Sa's image off Gillian's popularity and achievements or bashes both Twins based on Sa's flops...I question their work ethics; I mean, they're false claims.

Yeah, this series is highly invested. I heard the budget provided was like a few ten millions?

' If Gillian's happy about it, why wouldn't we? I bet we'll see a whole new portrayal of Gillian in this series. This time she'll be able to fight and have some tragic loving in her character. Two of her preferable characters in one.

I hope Gillian has many crying scenes because Gillian's crying just makes your heart want to ache!! I was watching TTE yesterday, and I started crying along with Gypsy (Gillian) when she had to make the decision of killing Reeve (Ekin). Her tears were just flowing like crazy!!
I think Michele Reis' role with Leon Lai was also Ching Ling So in fact. Theirs was a movie version though, but I'm quite sure that Michele played Ching Ling So. Another beautiful girl playing the role. I've noticed that medicine girls are always so nice and willing to sacrifice. I guess hence their liking of studying medicines to save people, huh? Was that comedic Ching Ling So of 1999 the TVB version one? Man, the only thing that character had in common with Ching Ling So was when she saved Woo Fei by sucking out the poison.
Uh huh, the role of Ching Ling So doesn't seem like it'll take as long as we thought it would. Athena said that she's only staying there to film for about two months, and Gillian has a way smaller role than her, so I'm guesing it'll take her this month of March to film, at the most the beginning of April. Gillian is taking breaks and still attending functions during the filming time, so no worries for the exposure part. The mandarin album of Twins is coming out during April - May, so they'll definitely need Gillian there for the album. I hope this series will be a fast filming, fast airing type of series. Also don't forget that these series get re-aired multiple times in various areas of Mainland, so plenty of exposure for Gillian!!
Despite Wong Jing's bad reputation of producing films, he actually is really nice towards Gillian. From looks of things, I think he did give Gillian a good role this time, seeing that Gillian likes this role, and it'd be nice if Gillian can sing the themesong/sub songs. Wong Jing's series usually do get one of the cast to sing the themesong, usually there's always a singer within his cast, so he always chooses the singer to do it. Like Wallace did the World's Finest theme, Dicky did the Duke Of Mt. Deer/Monkey King, etc. I hope it's Gillian for this one because I don't think anyone else sings within the cast? A nice solo to promote Gillian's singing to the Mainland audience, sounds like a great plan to me.

It would be highly possible if Gillian really is going towards more singing in the future.
Speaking of that crying scene in TE I, many fans, magazines, to a few famous stars have proclaimed Sa as one of the most promising rising actresses of the HK industry then why can't she drop a few tears here and there during that scene? Actually, a lot of scenes. And so much time was given for those tears to drop but none came rushing in. Sa already established a reputation as an actress in "My Wife is 18", TE I came way later so you would think that her acting abilities or at least crying skills would improve but yet none! All of her required crying scenes, she fails miserably. Any great actress can cry.

The only two incidences I've seen Sa cry in acting with real tears was Twins' MV of Red Red Eyes and Disgrace. (A Tall Chinese Story...um, that's not crying but rather whiny

) In All About Love, did Sa have a crying scene? (Hm, I don't remember.) So perhaps that's why Sa rarely portrays serious mature roles because tears do convery sorrow and apparently, Sa for some reason cannot cry.

Michelle Reis's character was Ching Ling So? Oh, I just mentioned that because I figured Gillian's medicine girl could be similar since Michelle was extremely cute but that struck me by surprise. Yup, two beauties as Ching Ling So. Mui Yurk Lan if I remember correctly wasn't even in that movie correct? I only remembered seeing Yuen Chi Yee played by Bridgette Lin (?). Anyways...medicine girls are extremely generous with love and so sacrificial because yes, they are doctors who have a desire of helping others and plus, even though Ching Ling So is medically skilled which back in those days accounts for intelligence, but Ching Ling So is innocent and pure. She's sort of isolated in a way studying medicine so her first love, Wu Fei, is someone she never really manages to forget.

Can't wait to watch Gillian blow us away with her tears and tragic love.

Yeah, that Ching Ling So 1999 TVB was annoying. I admire her love for Wu Fei but at times, I could understand why Wu Fei didn't love her. She wasn't pretty for one and two, her personality wasn't that great either.
I've also noticed that Gillian has been attending functions while filming. That probably explains why, she lost weight?
I know. Hopefully, Wong Jing has already asked Gillian to sing a Chinese Ancient serial song that would match the serial not just a random song. Dicky's song for MK was produced specifically for that serial though and as for Nic's Huang, that song matched with the serial anyways.

The bad thing is EEG always releases a 2nd/3rd version of Twins' albums. Do they really think fans are made of money? There was a conference with fans in Mainalnd with Gillian and Nicholas once, and there was a game where fans were humming tunes of Twins songs to Gillian while she had to guess what they were. She got all the hit songs correct, but there were some songs given that Twins have never performed or never got popular, and even Gillian couldn't recognize them. Nicholas then explained that sometimes even the singers themselves don't know every song of their own.
EEG is sure slacking off on Twins lately. Their MVs rarely have a little storyline along with it. It's usually just Twins standing or sitting here and there and singing the lyrics. The other EEG artists' MVs are quite good though. Kenny's MV for Cleverness with Isabella as a guest star was nice. It had an individual storyline with it, and it allowed Kenny and Isabella to try out their acting with that harsh scene of them yelling and hitting each other. It was a nice MV to watch. Kenny and Gillian's Conscience Discovery MV was nice too; it was a high budget one because they actually had to ask for a sponsor of the nice houses to film the MV in and it had a plot with it. We never see any good quality MVs with Twins anymore. I'm not too sure about Twins' upcoming album; they revealed that it's a 'happy' album. I'm kinda afraid that would happy mean childish as well?

I was hoping that they would sing more mature songs. A good thing about it is Gillian said that she and Charlene were each allowed to choose one song of their choice to enter into their album. That's one step closer to choosing the right songs for themselves.
Doesn't that incident just make Gillian suffocate with ambarrassment?

Lee Hom Wang can still remember his songs all the way to his first album. Well, he wrote the lyrics and produced the songs himself but still, people actually spent quite some time writing songs for Twins to carry out the emotions, EEG should at least respect that crew of workers and not just quickly discard their songs in a wasteland for money.
Hm, most likely it'll be a childish album. I don't think EEG is daring enough to portray Twins' Evolution or Girl Power image to the Mandarin industry yet. At least, Gillian will get to choose her personal song but then again, who knows what goes behind that final choice on the cd.

hmm...I thought he was two-timing Gillian because he knew he was sick so he lied to her?? Actually I wasn't quite sure since the MV was a little confusing to me...but one thing for sure was that he never really show any affection towards Charlene even when they were alone??
In "Starlight Amusement Park" I think Gillian wasn't interested in the guy..I think she was jealous that Charlene, her best friend, was paying more attention towards the guy then her

I love the part where Gillian came behind him and pushed him down the to the floor in the playground though...so hilarious!!
Yeah you are right, I just rewatched it. From my impression, Twins are good friends. William is Gillian's boyfriend but because he's ill and somehow manages to tell Sa or somehow she finds out, William acts interested in Sa; Sa goes along with it because 1. William not knowing, Sa is in love with him. 2. Sa can't say anything to Gillian because she can't break William's secret. So Gillian gets upset at both of them, trashes Sa's store for revenge and leaves. Later on, William collapses, Sa works day and night to pay the hospital expenses (where are their parents?), and informs Gillian because Gillian is the one William truly wishes to see and wants by his side. The End.
The Starlight Amusement MV was cute but Gillian didn't care for the guy, she was more possessive of Sa.

I'm not sure if Athena is a singer or not, but I have a vague memory that she does have a few songs? Gillian's character is considered a main character, just not a very main character. Her character's the most favourable, not too much on screentime, but does leave big impressions on the audience from the past roles of Ching Ling So being portrayed, so directors do take this role seriously. If Athena does sing, then I'd want her to sing the themesong and Gillian to sing one or two sub songs since the themesong usually has a lot of action and main plot related content in it while sub songs are usually big tear jerkers that revolve around the side stories such as the romance.
If the fast songs are songs that have meaningful content in it like the ones that Gillian sang at the concert, then Gillian does have the chance to show off her talent, but if it's the kind of fast songs that are like the early Twins songs, then it would be to Charlene's benefit instead. Like I've said before, I don't exactly want their 'happy-themed' songs to appear to be childish. Twins' schedules are just so tight that they never get any time to practice, and EEG are just never considerate towards this fact. Another thing, why does Gillian always dance better without Charlene as well?

' Her solo performance of dancing was great and on beat with her background dancers, but when she started dancing with Charlene with the medley of songs, they just weren't in sync. I couldn't even find the problem either. Gillian appeared to be dancing slower than Charlene, yet when I compare Gillian with the background dancers, she wasn't off with them either. She was at the same speed.

Athena? She used to sing a few songs but I doubt she'll sing the theme or sub because in most of her serials, even as a lead, she doesn't sing the theme or sub songs.
Twins are never really in sync with each other. It seems like one is always trying to lead rather than harmoniously collaborating, teamwork.

I agree...those 2nd/3rd version are really riping the fans off. I mean their second version of 'The missing piece' was like out a month after the original one, and the third...around 2 months later.
btw I've just read a piece of news on the news section that Gillian and Charlene have only spent half a month recording the Mandarin album, which is quite rushed in my opinion. EEG should seriously give them more time to focus on their cd recordings, since they are singers afterall...
Anyways I just hope their upcoming Mandarin album will do as good or even better than their first one (even though they didn't have much time time to record it, but hopefully it will include high quality songs...and not those typical K songs)
I think Athena is one of those actress-turn-singers, I remember she had an album out last year or something and I've heard her sing in a show as well. And to be honest her singing isn't that great...
But I won't mind if Wong Jing choose her to sing the themesong, since she's more of a main-character than Gill. Or maybe Wong Jing will do the same as what he did in 'Amazing Twins', like just choose a random song
of one of the main cast; which in this case was Nicholas, instead of recording a whole new one for the series.
(For those who haven't seen that series, the Mandarin version of 'Huang' was the themesong.
Half a month is a rushed album!

Hopefully, the album would be a blast considering that at least this album won't contain songs we all already heard and been exposed too but just a small change, Mandarin versions.
Well, Nic's Huang song did correlate to the serial. Well, at least it had some Chinese melody and lyrics to flow along the storyline but just any random song won't do. If Wong Jing does decide on choosing Gillian to sing at least one song for her character, I prefer it be fresh, romantic, sorrowful, and Mandarin. Gillian's voice seems to very flexible in Mandarin plus that would attract a bigger audience or perhaps have two versions of the song...so when it's airing in Mainland, the Mandarin version will be used and in Hk, the Cantonese version.
GILLIAN SUPPORTER!!!
