While filming actors usually have doubles even if they aren't really doing action scenes. I'm not sure why exactly, but it's for back shots. Sometimes they have days where they get the doubles and film their backs!

And what is so ironic about everything is: the more EEG restricts Gillian or tries to overshadow Gillian with more promotions invested towards Sa, those bias actions are actually all the right moves or should I say, Gillian always manages to lead no matter what. Have you guys ever heard fans scream "Twins" publically?? I've only heard fans scream Ah Gui or Ah Sa but often never "Twins" but I do hear fans screaming Ah Gui more too during functions.

Perhaps, the wires are much more difficult to handle in an ancient serial. HOF was filmed in the city with a lot of wire support but the wires in ancient serials require a lot of flying, flipping, and turning with less flexibility. I mean, the ancient era is full of nature with really no guarantees of safety while HOF was modern citylike that had more poles and cushion etc. to catch Gillian if she was to fall or have a NG.

Well, this is my personal opinion but I think Raymond has been receiving supporting roles lately is because TVB has been mixing him with much older and more experienced stars versus Ron where he hasn't really starred in a serial with the lead leads of TVB yet. Hm, I haven't been catching up on Ray recently but it's obvious that TVB does play favorites too. I too cannot believe that Ron released an album before Ray when Ron cannot sing period.

Well, if Twins aren't getting any awards, knowing EEG, neither of them would even attend. Hmm.... I'm not sure if Gillian will be performing solo. Usually when an artiste gets an award, the award ceremony will let them perform though. Mainland actually lets the artiste do the whole song; whereas, most HK award shows just let the artiste do half of the song. I think she probably will perform; EEG artistes are rarely, or even never, left of performing during award shows. If EEG has the heart to show Gillian's singing abilities, then I'd think that'd be the reason of sending her there alone and actually perform. We've never seen it done in the early years of Twins though. It's either they're both there, or they're not there. Things have really gotten to be different with Twins over different aspects.

I, for one, have never heard, "Twins!" being called. ' Like you, I only hear "Sa!" or "Giu!" In my opinion, there is no need to compare Gillian to Charlene because obviously, Gillian exceeds Charlene in almost every aspect, except the hypocritical part. Her talents will definitely be recognized even if EEG does not want that to happen. After 49 Days, Gillian's acting abilities have surely improved and probably after her upcoming series, things will change for the better....or at least, I highly hope so.

And yes, it does anger me that EEG promotes Charlene at a faster and more favorable rate, but that does not mean Gillian will be left in the cold. The future is a distant thing and no one will know what'll happen. All I know is that I will always support Gillian and highly praise her in everything she does. I mean, that is in fact what a good fan should do. lol.

I used to love seeing Twins together, but now, I kinda hope that Gillian would go solo. Yes, there are ups and downs to this decision, but we all know that if she and Charlene were to go separate ways, it would be better for Gillian because then the Twins image would have died and Gillian can start anew. LOL. Seriously, just reading that made me wanna cry. Nie Yuan's words are just too heart-wrenching. Hearing these compliments and remarks, we can all tell how dedicated both of them are to their work. How much effort and soul they had placed upon their characters. I now seriously want to watch this series and then just skip straight to the scene where Gillian's character is about to confront death and how much Nie Yuan and his character wants to protect her from it.

His comparison of Jin Yong's other female leads to Gillian's Ching Ling So is so prefect. Though on the outside there is nothing particularly outstanding nor appealing, Ching Ling So is a soul filled with passion and a heart for love and love alone. No wonder this character has always been favored among the other female characters even if her abilities and appearance has nothing for anyone to consider. The one true important and remarkable thing that people seem to associate her with is love. It just makes me so happy that Gillian had received such a role and I would really love to see how wonderfully and beautifully she can portray such a lovable, yet tragic role. *sigh* But such a long wait in order to watch it ><;

i'm happy and drop dead proud to say that i AM a gillian fan and will also forever be one. Besides i MOSTLY agree with the arguments you guys put up and by the way, i read everything from page one to page 28 so i DID NOT miss out anything. At the same time, i also did purchase mani's book and scrutinised every page carefully. After scrutinising the book, i wanna disagree with some peoples' comments. I also have a disclaimer to make: its not that i am supporting charlene here, but just want to clarify some things
1)mani DOES NOT loathe gillian. Look, you guys think that forcing gillian to drink soup is an act of cruelty and kept attacking mani abt it. But drinking soup i good for health and since people always mention that gillian's health is not so great, therefore she should really drink soup to make herself healthier. Besides, forcing someone to drink soup is NOT an act of abuse. My mom always do that to me, so does that make her evil? obviously not.
2)gillian and yumiko went out for a late night escape n lied to mani about it. so its gillian's fault isn't it? At that time gillian had already signed a contract with EEG and she should abide by their rules. Beside, she was just a newbie and about to be pushed out into the market for the public to see and if give people the impression that she goes to pubs, i don't think people would think very highly of her. So reprimanding gillian and yumiko about this entirely reasonable
3)That thousand word letter/essay that gillian wrote to mani was written willingly all by herself. It was not like Mani was holding a knife to her throat and forcing her to write it. Some people should go to www.twinsfans.net/bbs/ and go under the magazine section to read the book. The members had helpfully posted all those twins related sections online. Yumiko did not write the 1000 word essay was not because there was biasism but instead, she was just too unsensitive and uncaring towards this type of things to care about her reputation. But anyway, her reputation was already not so good, flirting with any guys in sight.
4)When mani mention about gillian crying when she was unable to go to her idol, Aaron Kwok's, concert, she was just simply presenting to us a different side of gillian instead of the girl that media love describing as cool and aloof. she just wanted to show us that gillian is not always that mature and that she can be rather childish if she wants to. I bet those people who are not so familiar with with gillian will think that gillian is slightly colder and distant than charlene, but imagine when the reader of mani's book read about gillian kicking up a cute childish fuss, his opinion will change right?
5)In the end, mani did gave in to gillian and let her go to the concert. But now you guys are slamming for saying that she just did this to "show the world that she is a nice manager". I beg to differ. Gillian have a concert at australia the next day and everyone knows that last minute preparation is extremely important as something unexpected may happen that will ruin the whole concert, wouldn't it? twins have an abnormally tight schedule and i think we should already kowtow to the gods when mani let gillian watch the concert and i'm sure that gillian is already extremely thankful that mani had let her take an hours' break and watch her idol.
6)Also, some people mention about mani commenting that gillian was ugly and so on blah blah and saying that gillian was not all that attractive. But when i read the book, i did not notice mani mentioning this and when she commented on her first impression on gillian, all she said was that gillian was rather nice looking and slightly on the chubby side, but not once did mani mention that gillian was ugly. What's worse, she describe charlene's face as a pizza with freckles, isn't that more cruel??
7)last but not least, the test singing part. mani mention that when she let gillian test try the first time, gillian sang slightly out of tune and she was not at all impressed. Then mani also mentioned that she give newcomers a second chance and gillian made vast improvements. Isn't that good? But horror of horrors, some people argue that mani's "gracious" offer was fake and that she was just acting nice thats all. If she was really that eveil, i bet she would have kicked gillian out straight after the first try, gillian was an unsigned newbie at that time, why would EEG waste money and time listening to her resing? After all, mani had mentioned that charlene did not do any much better, in fact, from the tone that she use while writing, i conclude that charlene was even worse off than gilllian.
DISCLAIMER: all this argument was from my feelings, personal thoughts blah blah blah. so please do not be too harsh or else there would be an eye for an eye thing occurring. sorry if there may be some typo error occuring around the pasage. wadever that i think i would just put it down in words and after i finish writing, i'm not that patient enough to read through all over again to check for mistakes. as you can see, i'm not the patient type of person either.

I didn't read anything from page like 21 to 28 so I have no clue what ur talking about. From what I've seen so far about Mani, this is what I think. Yes she's a great manager who's amazing when it comes with dealing stuff and trying to protect her artist but sometimes its too much. And like LPB has said, this is all from her book meaning she wrote it so everything is one-sided. Of course we'er thinking from our persepctive too but teh nwe're using how she wrote things down as a point. Mani could be cruel and evil but she can be nice and considerate but we may never know. Like the others, I do agree that Mani appears to be a woman who has some sort of intelligence of how to deal with her artistes and company, but it is definitely true on how all these events listed are from Mani's book that she wrote personally; therefore, this is just Mani's side of the story. Just as xlai-wong-baox expressed, who would make himself/herself sound like a bad and unreasonble person in his/her own book? Even if she did write it in a general pov, each person still interprets each thing differently. It depends on each person's standards. You may think this certain thing wasn't that harsh, but another person could easily take it offensively, but it doesn't make either one at fault. As asillysaint said, no arguement needed. By the way, Mani's coming back from her studies soon, sometime this month I heard.

Wow Conscience Discovery is moving up the chart faster than I thought! Anyways well I hope that Mani book have a english verison so I could buy that one and read it myself. And 3 months passed quicky... shes coming back alright!

I think all we have to depend on is just the Yahoo! music chart, for Conscience Discovery has already fallen off of the Metro music chart and the RTHK music chart. Can songs come back into the charts after they've fallen out? I hope they can; I also hope that Conscience Discovery can appear on the JSG music chart, so it could've at least been on the chart and I still want to see a live performance of this.

Hm, personally...this line describes how close Mani and Sa are. Mani and Sa understand each other enough to be cracking cruel jokes at each other without offending one another. Just like how Joey loves to joke about Mani and their relationship. I mean, why would Mani share that in a publicized book if she didn't personally know how Sa would react to it. They're pretty close knitted, that's all.

EEG should had promoted the duet when it freshly came out in Kenny's Musick album like during Valentines Day since the song has a romantic theme to it. Now, people have watched the karaoke MV and have listened to the song for quite a while...it's not surprising the song has fallen out of the charts. And to wait for the MV in Kenny's next album...that is just pushing it.

The media can never leave Gillian alone, can they? Just because Nie Yuan wrote the piece of writing titled "The Death Of Ching Ling So" that I posted earlier, the media is making news out of it.

Hmm..does my question make sense..dunno how to word it but anyways I know that some of the Mainland series get procasted in the International channel in the U.S...I notice my parents like to watch that channel and I saw that one of Liu Yi Fei's series were being shown.

I haven't watched it yet, so I don't know whether this is better or their previous one. But IMO their concert in 2004 wasn't that great, in fact I thought the ichiban concert was better....even though their singing wasn't that great back then.

^^ I've seen all three, and IMHO I think that concert no.3 is the best. The singing is slighty better, there aren't any lame magic tricks and their solos are good.

Challenge songs just means that those songs are the ones that are 'challenging' to get onto the chart, so if we see any new songs hitting the chart next week on JSG, it will be chosen from the challenging songs.

Sometimes when they are challenging songs or just got onto the charts, they would have the artists sing it live to promote it, I wish they could go on before its number 1 also so they could perform TWICE!

I hope they could go on and do it twice too! Actually I hope that Kenny and Gillian can go on JSG, perform Conscience Discovery, and sing a medley of other duet songs. Haha, my wishful thinking. Performing it twice is good though because it's extra promoting, seeing how Conscience Discovery hasn't exactly been promoted; at least we've never heard a live version of it yet. Usually the songs that are performed as challenge songs do make it up to the top of the chart, so I hope they do go to perform it.

Just to make sure, I went to download this week's JSG, and I am sure that there IS a TVB version of Conscience Discovery! When Amigo introduced the challenge songs, it showed a small caption of the MV and it was very different from the one we saw. Kenny's and Gillian's hairstyles were different, and the setting was different. The setting of this MV seems to be exterior because there were some bushes behind Kenny and Gillian. I can't wait until it comes out!! This one will definitely come out before the EEG version. It'll probably be out next week when TVB updates their music chart page.

Hm, it seems like no one really invests in MVs anymore. Hopefully, this one is different. The EEG Version is still a long way before its official release date...

But in the meantime, here is my personal version; finally completed it. I'm a bit disappointed and dissatisfied with this MV because it seems a bit messy. There weren't a lot of clips of KG together so it was extremely difficult piecing everything together so as you can tell the sequence and scenes sort of became confusing to follow as the MV proceeded, oh well...please don't mind the minor glitches....enjoy.

Because on my kind of TV it nly shows 20 minutes of it and it cuts.. please can you give m the site.. thanks! Also I hope this song hits #1 because then on Global Rythme it will show the MV! Well, the MV captions of all the challenge songs all appeared like that. They all consisted of a scene of where the artiste was singing, but I do hope this has some kind of plot with it. Usually they make good use of the chance to bring two artistes together in a duet MV because the two artistes don't come together very often. MVs for solo artistes/groups might be slightly slacked off because no doubt they will be able to make a better MV later on.


At least we have this one to look at while we have to wait so long for the EEG version to come out, but hey, we got ourselves another KG clip for future uses, like you could use it for your future MVs and KG will actually be on the same screen. I hope this MV isn't like Kindergarten of how Gillian and Charlene just sat on this merry-go-round thing and were singing the song. They should make a good plot out of it; if not, then they should at least plug in a few sweet and warming scenes between KG.


I just downloaded it from our download section here in the forum. I know what you mean about the TV's version of JSG; the TV more like shows ten minutes of it because JSG that is aired in HK is around twenty minutes in total, not counting commercials.

Like I said before, they never make news out of it when artistes film a TVB MV, so it could've been made at any recent time. I think it's after Gillian started filming for her series though since her hair just looks wavy in the MV; if it was filmed before she started filming for her series, then I'd imagine her hair would be curly as it was in the EEG version. But yeah, Gillian usually does get breaks here and there to keep up with her HK activities, so I hope she can come back to go on JSG and perform!!

Conscious Discovery--KG Duet

Do you mean you want this week's JSG to watch the whole thing? Or do you just want to see the KG part of it? If it's for KG, then it's really nothing because they appear for about three seconds and I've already made screencaps of it. I'll upload it if you still want it.


Hmm..... I still thought this MV was pretty good though I agree that your previous productions had been better, but it was quite clever of you to use those scenes from the KTV version of Conscience Discovery by fitting it in with the KTV letters and the song matching. I loved the opening part of the MV the most. The scenes that you've chosen were great! Keep up the good work! And I loved that photo appearing at the end!

Well, I like this MV more than the very first EG one of "Remember I Love You" because this one seems to flow better and easier transition. Good thing there was the 55 sec KTV clip or else it would had been more difficult searching for matching or at least decent scenes of KG for another 55 secs so that clip saved me a lot of extra work. Plus, I decided to mix in the KTV since everyone has been long anticipating for the MV.

I wanted the song to end up where KG returned back together and mended their differences but there wasn't any good clip of them together so I just decided to replace the scene with the picture but not sure if anyone would catch that. '

I already have two EG MVs lined up next since I am a bigger fan of EG but another KG one is next after! I wish to not repeat on scenes but I guess it's inevitable. It's hard to find a good Twins MV to extract Gillian clips out from these days especially when the MVs are either a view of their concert, their tour, or of Twins singing next to each other. I'm running out of movie scenes too.

Thanks for the screencaps...hmm..I dunno but from the clips..it's seemed like they would just be like randomly moving around while singing it...Seems like no plot or it might just be extracting clips from the EEG verison...because the bg of the screencaps gives that impression!! but I hope I'm wrong!!



Another great MV from you!! Love how you put the clips together..even though there were much KG scenes but you made them seemed like doing the samething or close to same place as each other..you get what I mean?? Like the opening scene where Gillian was in a room and Kenny was also in a room in the next scene..I also like the big characters were sync with their singing!!

This MV is pretty decent. It has a plot, so it's not just Kenny and Gillian standing there and singing the song. My guess was wrong though, the MV doesn't take place outside, but in a restaurant. The 'bushes' were merely just a background. My only complaint is that there aren't enough KG scenes, so I'm still looking forward to the EEG version. Ha, who knew staying up later to study for math would turn out to be something good? Of course that means slacking off a bit to go online while studying.
