Yes, Gillian sang solo at 4 different award shows, but techniquely she sang 2 solos since she sang each song, Hover Bird and Starlight Amusement Park, twice each. I really love Edison and Gillian together. You said it all asillysaint. I really pray that Edison and Gillian will get together and do some work together. There's chemistry in the air when they're together and I really love that. EG was what got me into Chinese Enterainment. EEG needs to be smarter.

With everything that is happening--> there's a huge part of me that really really wish that Twins does disband. I mean when I first heard the news, I was so upset! Angry and bewildered but with everything that is happening, I believe that Gillian will be better off without Charlene and vis vera. Without being a band, there won't be as much comparasion of the two. I'm rather baised. It's sad but Gillian's my favorite so I cannot change what I feel. And right now I feel that she's being treated unfairly.

EEG is seriously such a messed up agency. I don't understand why they aren't do as much to help their current artist and instead, creating new ones. Dumb, dumb. And honestly I feel bad for Steven. Well, even if EEG is just tossing members back and forth in Boy'z, I think EEG is still using money to maintain their contracts. For example, even though Mandy's schedule has been empty in the past prior to the Don+Mandy project, EEG was still responsible for her position in their company, so Mandy still received monthly income or some type of income for her contract with them alone. As for Twins, they would be earning that standard income plus all of the incentives from the film/music projects they produced or participated in. I'm not exactly sure if that is how EEG coordinates but that is very common. So officially adding William into Boy'z, that is just an extra burden EEG has to carry if they're not taking Boy'z seriously.

I don't think the Boy'z album exists either but at least Boy'z (Steven and Dennis) had an opportunity to enjoy themselves on vacation in Japan. I bet Twins and Kenny would love that break.


I agree. Seems like the only thing that is saving EEG from collapsing are their extremely long contracts with their artists. Nic would probably leave EEG once his contract has been fulfilled and yes, Joey would more likely renew her contract since the authorities of EEG adores Joey as a family member; it would be difficult to detach. As for Sa, well, she really has no reasons to leave in the first place anyways. Um, Gillian? By the time Twins' contracts expire, Gillian would already be in her late 20's entering early 30's so chances are, Gillian may simply leave the ET industry completely. Gillian seems content with her normal life. She doesn't seem like another Andy Lau, who wishes to entertain for the rest of his life. Gillian has expressed that she wishes to settle down and begin a family around her 30's so I wouldn't be surprised if Gillian, who has already made more than enough money to pull out of the ET industry, bid farewell to the ET industry to take care of her personal businesses outside the ET boundaries. I think growing up without a father and only a part-time mother, Gillian knows too well how lonely and painful it is for a child to endure a life with an incomplete set of parents so I think Gillian would transform into a full-time mother with some work here and there but would end her stardom days. But I'm anticipating on who would complete her family? The Groom? Well, Gillian still has a while to find her Prince.

But if Twins' contract does end early, then perhaps Gold Label would be nice.

Anyways, seems like the only two artists that people agree to be the main pillars in holding EEG together are Joey and Nic but I agree, even they cannot save EEG much. EEG resolves long term problems with temporary solutions that sort of return and shoot them in the foot. EEG really needs to just display everyone out there, let the audience decide who are the weakest links, weed out those who really lack support/talent etc., and just resume from there. They should stop picking and choosing. It's a slap in the face when EEG realizes that their biggest mistake in managing a company was judging too quickly and too biasly. It's a hash reality check when the individuals EEG froze, wasted their contracts waiting, and believed to be of no worth or contribution to their empire returns with full force success.

For those who have never heard of Vincy Chen. Here you go. I like her. I especially enjoy this song. She's different from Isabella. I have to admit, this was one of the best decisions EEG has made so far.

Yeah, it would be extremely dangerous to be Edison's love interest. I mean, this guy practically doesn't know any boundaries. It's one thing to be blunt and honest professionally but it's a whole different story just being plain rude and disrespectful with one's stubborn attitude. I think Edison has offended several people including important authorities and figures.

I guess, it would be quite impossible for EG to reunite in a film currently since Edison is Anti-HK while HK doesn't seem to care where Edison is complaining to or about. Plus Edison hasn't signed on with any other company so most likely he's not going to star in any HK films due to that requirement.

Yeah, Gillian has expressed before that if she got married and her husband requested for her to quit the ET industry, then she will quit and find a new job. Charlene said that she would like to continue her career for her lifetime. (Hmm, I wonder if this fortuneteller is going to be correct about Charlene's coming future in the ET industry. He said that as Charlene comes close to being 25, she'll probably base her career on acting and do little singing. )Andy is really extreme and persisting with his career; when we look at the other three Heavenly Kings, they're practically all half-retired. My guess for Gillian as she gets older and after her contract ends is also that she may leave the ET circle completely, or if she does grow more fond of her job in singing/acting, then she may just be a half-retired artiste, like those who film a movie once in a while or do a comeback concert now and then. I guess the time that she finds her Prince Charming is a factor in how long she'll stay in the ET industry as well. If she doesn't find her Mr. Right, then she'll probably continue with her job to continue the support towards her family. Gillian seems really cautious and picky towards who she would choose as a mate with a high set of standards. She said something about her future mate has to be capable of supporting himself and family and be more successful than she is. Well, isn't that kind of hard? Now I kinda want to know who is going to be Gillian's life-long partner.

But if EEG does somehow collapse because of their stupid decisions, I'd want Gillian to land on a nice place like Gold Label since it'd be better off to be with a good management company if she's still going to stay in the ET industry for a while than to be with a bad one, not like Gillian is with a completely good company right now.

Vincy does sound nice! But is it just me or does her voice resemble Joey's a lot and slightly like Isabella's when she reaches the high notes? She sounds better than Isabella because her voice isn't squeaky like Isabella's; I guess we'd figure about resembling Joey since she was called the next Joey Yung, but sometimes having such a similar voice with others isn't a very good thing. People will start to pick and chose between the artistes whom are similar. Joey's probably going to be sticking around in the music industry for quite a long time, but if Vincy portrays a few more songs that resemble Joey a lot, then that's really going to effect her future. But I think Vincy could pull a spot in for the music industry if she and EEG make good choices about her songs.

Edison seemed to be a better guy when he just started out and then to the time during TTE; after I heard about the beating incident on the streets and the pointing finger thing at Alex and Patrick at the award ceremony, my impression of him just went and . I could tell that he had an attitude to begin with, but I thought it was just because he has a blunt and stubborn personality, with the addition of being raised overseas, thus the carefree whatever attitude. Then all the stuff that came afterwards was plain . I suppose we could kind of guess what happened with Gillian's impression of Edison as well because Gillian's a pretty blunt person, but she isn't rude though . Gillian didn't do anything of avoidance when EG rumours surfaced, but after all the commotions that stirred around with Edison's later actions, we can see that Gillian's distancing herself from him. She shuts down whenever questions regarding him are raised; I still wonder why the reporters brought Edison up all of the sudden during Gillian's last birthday party? Their rumours have completely died off, but they suddenly brought it up again. What bothers me is that the media still pulls Gillian's name in whenever rumours of Edison's surface nowadays. I'd say Gillian was probably disappointed towards Edison as we were, so that's why she's keeping distance.

I wouldn't mind if EG reunited as working partners on-screen though since Gillian does share chemistry with him, and I'm sure Gillian is professional enough to work with him. The chances are slim because Edison is trying to get into American films, so it's unlikely that he'll settle for HK films unless his American films are a complete fail.

I’ve been a fan of Gillian's since Twins first came out. On the obvious side, ah gill is gorgeous and I think that she has a lot of potential but that she isn't sure how to use that potential. I’ve always been disappointed in Twins' live performances because there hasn't been an extremely well performance since around the time they had come out as a group. When Twins first came out, ah gill knew how to control her vocal range better than now it seems. There had just been a shift where she sang great during live performances and then it just seemed to slowly deteriorate into off-key performances. I’m really glad now that ah gill is slowing shifting back and improving a lot into her powerful singing mode.

personally, I love ah gill and I don't like ah sa that much because I find her to be a little too rambunctious, on the borderline downright annoying. no offense to anyone who's a fan of ah sa as well as ah gill but I can't stand ah sa's singing voice. ah gill's singing voice is beautiful because it's clear, soft, and has a pretty nice range, but ah sa's voice is raspy, has a continuous deep sound to it, and is always trying to overcome ah gill’s voice making the verses that Twins sing together sound unharmonious. However, ah sa does know how to sing better than Gillian does in the fact that she knows how to transition between lines without breathing and can project her voice (although sometimes that’s not a good thing in the case of Twins ). In the acting category, I find that ah gill is the better actress. She shows a wide range of emotions whereas Charlene shows the same old expressions to try to get laughs out of people. I don’t understand why EEG wants to push ah sa into the acting industry when ah gill is the better actress and was nominated for the best actress category for the movie beyond our ken. In the dancing category, I think Charlene has the more flowing movements while Gillian tries to perfect her dancing with it coming out a little stiff, but that’s ah gill for you always trying to do her best!

The full EEG version is finally out! I think this version is better than the TVB one; Kenny and Gillian gave more chemistry with each other in this one than the TVB one. It's a really good MV overall, but I am disappointed that they ended up cutting out so many scenes that they've filmed for the MV. Gillian's crying scene was taken out, the scene with Gillian leaning on Kenny while they were watching TV was also deleted, and the scene of where Kenny was taking care of Gillian while she had a fever was also not shown. The fruit scene was supposed to be longer as well. Wouldn't it be nice if EEG put those scenes in as a bonus on Kenny's upcoming album? And maybe a behind the scene clip of it? I remember they included stuff on Bug Me Not! on Isabella's CD before. It could serve as an extra attraction on his next CD. It still sucks that they cut out so many scenes that they've already filmed; those were the good ones too. KG were still very cute in the MV, like when they were fighting with each other in their bedroom.

Hm, that's why I admire Gillian a lot. Gillian is just really a simple normal girl trying to make ends meet for her family. Stardom's glamour and short cuts to a luxurious lifestyle is quite tempting and difficult to leave behind once one has tasted it, that's why stars who have fallen still wish and persist to make a successful comeback but like any other ordinary girl out there who has always dreamed of living an ordinary life with a caring husband and a warm family, Gillian is more than willing to sacrifice fame in exchange for something way more important, family. I'm not here to say that it's wrong for Andy or Sa for that matter to continue entertaining an entire lifetime if that's their desire but I personally believe that there is much more to life than just entertainment.

I was about to mention the same thing too. Vincy does possess a wonderful voice, a mixture of Joey and Isabella. I think that Vincy does really define the label EEG placed upon her, the next Joey Yung unlike Isabella, the next Cecilia Cheung, which was a complete failure but who knows, Isabella might quickly follow Cecilia's footsteps in the acting industry because personally, I believe Isabella can become an amazing actress versus her so-so singing but Isabella won't replace Cecilia, that's for sure because Isabella just isn't a natural beauty like Cecilia and in the world of acting, physical appearance is quite important. Even though Vincy's voice resembles Joey's a lot but currently, the HK market needs more talented new artists, so most likely, Vincy won't be washed away under Joey's shadows. The HK music industry needs all of the talented singers they can get and at the moment, the HK industry isn't that competitive like it used to be. Vincy will surely make a successful debut if her other songs are as good as this one.

I just realized that Vincy's song is the Cantonese version of Yuki Hsu's Mandarin song, forgot the title but it was the sub-theme song for Yuki and Roger Kwok's short serial. I love the melody.

Kenny and Gillian do share much more chemisty in this music video in comparison to their TVB version. Some scenes just made me giggle. It's quite cute watching Kenny and Gillian in such lovely scenes. Aw, I wouldn't mind if KG were a real-life couple.

Hm, it does resemble Kenny's "Know First" MV but it's EEG. EEG loves to recycle their ideas so it was of no big surprise. But I enjoy this MV more. It's way cuter even without the lip locking kiss in "Know First." KG's natural chemistry just radiated so even without the initimate kissing scene, their love and affection for each other was still extremely sincere and painful when their pride broke up the relationship.

Yeah, we were all anticipating on all those cute scenes shown on the photos taken by the media, but they were taken out of the MV. And they did shoot those scenes when they were filming! That's why I'm hoping that they'll somehow show them, especially the scene where Gillian was crying since the media made such praises of her crying scene, but we find that the final product does not include this scene. Perhaps include a deleted scenes clip in Kenny's next album? Or make a second version of this MV with the other scenes...... But most likely, those scenes will forever sit around in one of those tapes that are lying around somewhere in EEG.

I know! Gillian's character is so so so CUTE!! I love the scene where she was wacking Kenny's butt with the book and then ended up pulling the blanket all to herself; it's so funny! I agree that she looked so much like a neglected wife at other times, like during the kitchen scene. The ending was sad though; they didn't work things out like how the lyrics described.

Besides the whole fruit concept in the kitchen and the neglection of Kenny's characters towards his other half, I don't see too much of a resemblance. The girls' personalities are different; in 'Know First', Charlene's character was more of the shy girl type who doesn't do a thing about how Kenny's character ignores her all the time until she really can't take it anymore while Gillian's character in here actually shows how she feels dissatisfied with Kenny's character's neglection towards her, with all the slamming of books which turns out to be extremely cute. There was a happy ending in 'Know First', but no happy ending in 'Conscience Discovery'. It seems like in the EEG versions of Kenny's songs, he's almost always the carefree and whatever type of guy towards his other half.

I also think what contributed to the cute scenes were their cute PJs.

Hm, a question does arise though? I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it already but are they a married couple who in the end couldn't resolve their differences so a divorced resulted? Or are they just cohabitating? Oooo, naughty them.

I think Kenny is those passive guys who just handles situations through carefree methods. I think Gillian would most likely also be the passive type whereas Sa would let her partner know that something is bothering her or it could be both.

Yep, Gillian is a very simple girl, yet she appears to be very attractive in this perplexed ET industry. Those quotes are very true and lesson-teaching; I think Gillian has a good grasp of understanding what life is. She understands that there is more than stardom in life. As much as we love Gillian as our idol, we will understand that she has her own things in life to pursue, so if she decides to leave us one day for starting a family of her own, we will do nothing else but to support her with her decisions and thank her for all the nice memories she's given us. I really hope that she'll find the right man in her life and have a happy family, though we definitely will have a sad and bittersweet feeling when the day does come for her to leave us, but we can't stall her life if we really do support her. Support Gillian!!

Oh really? Then I guess Vincy's voice does carry Joey's and Isabella's characteristics if we both hear it that way. I believe Isabella can bring herself recognition in acting rather than singing as well; her acting's pretty natural for a young girl. As for her singing, it's only a random one or two songs here or there that can get people onto it, and it may just be because the song was produced well to begin with. Isabella could probably go on to do some random singing now and then and focus mainly on acting later on. Vincy's actually quite well-accepted in HK right now; many agree that her singing is good for a newcomer, and I don't think anyone's mentioned of how her voice resembles Joey as we have. Vincy could help repair the collapsing boat of EEG's after building herself up on a good base.

I wish Gillian and Kenny could collaborate on another duet as well since it was reported on the news that they did two duets together just before Musick was released, but only Conscience Discovery came out on Musick. I'm hoping there's some surprises in Kenny's upcoming album, like another duet or some deleted scenes clip from the Conscience Discovery MV, but I heard that he did another duet with Isabella. It wasn't exactly heard of yet, but Kenny and Isabella did a commerical together for a video and some background music was played, and some fans said that it may be a duet between them. Personally, I don't think Kenny's and Isabella's voices synchronize that well together, judging from Cupid's Arrow.

It may be because they barely had any scenes to show chemistry in in the TVB version; they had two scenes together, not counting the just standing there singing scenes. There were more scenes of them together in this EEG version where their chemistry just booms! They are just soooooo cute together! Now I really wish that they can produce a film together; maybe they can really film that movie, 'Zero Charm', that Kenny and Gillian made up and joked about while filming the TVB version of their duet! I wouldn't mind if KG were a real-life couple either, at least we know that Kenny would be very caring and protective towards Gillian, seeing how he shows it now, and they are just good friends.

There really isn't an answer, so I think the question can just be interpreted by each individual who watches the MV; like what shorty vicky said, Gillian looked so much like a neglected wife during some scenes. I think so too, especially when she was rushing around and cooking in the kitchen. But then the MV also gave a feeling that they were cohabitating with all the cute scenes consisting with things that are usually done by dating couples. Maybe they're just like Alex and Stephy in 'Marriage With A Fool'? Perhaps they're newly weds; therefore, they still do playful things that dating couples do, yet they face a lot more problems with their differences because they're living together now. As a result, they divorced.

That does seem like how the three of them are when dealing with relationships; at least that's how Charlene and Gillian described themselves during the press conference of the radio drama, 'Very Love', when they were asked of how they view themselves in a relationship. Charlene said that she won't put up with any intruders in her relationship with her partner, and if big problems were to occur, she'd most likely leave the relationship; whereas, Gillian said that if there was a third party, she would be passive and keep quiet about it and hope for her partner will deal with the problem, but if she can't take it anymore after periods of time, she will also take an exit.

Well, I can't speak for other people, but if you're specifically directing that question to me, then I'd answer no. It's because Kenny and Gillian's first duet wasn't promoted at all; their first duet has never been released on CD so there's not even a full version out. This duet was only partially promoted by actually filming MVs for it. I think if they collaborate on one more duet song that will actually be promoted decently, then that'll be enough, for me anyway.

But you've just brought up another thing that we can be anticipating for. A duet between Gillian and Nicholas would be a nice thing to hear about. I wonder how their voices will blend together? Now I really want to hear them sing a song together! Well, Twins, Joey, Nicholas did sing a medley of classic songs all together, but I think they all sing their separate songs, just in a medley form; this song isn't even out yet. I just listened to a 30 sec clip of it.

I think the majority of original Twins fans have grown up enough to understand the reality concept outside of the ET industry. I can only hope the best for Gillian in everything that she decides to embark upon.


Seems like Isabella's voice is so thin to the point of breaking if she sings any higher but yet her voice can't go to low either or else she'll go out of tune. So basically, Isabella is sort of stuck in the standard notes that can't stretch too high nor too low. When Vincy reaches towards the high notes, perhaps she can tweak it just a bit to make the Isabella-squeak less noticeable. But this is extremely good for a newcomer like Vincy. Sadly, Vincy makes a lot of the experienced artists appear inexperienced including Twins. Um, I'm really enjoying Vincy at the moment; perhaps even more than Kary and Janice because I believe that Vincy's vocals can stretch higher and instrumentally smoother than Janice's and stronger than Kary's combined. I don't know if it's just me but Vincy could be the next big thing if all things fall into place for her. Well, this is just my personal opinion based on this DJ version recording of hers but I haven't heard her sing live yet so I guess, I really can't judge beyond that.


Hm, I really want the full version of "The Legend of Love" duet. If Kenny and Gillian were to collaborate in a film, I would request that they film an ancient love story. Not a lot of directors are willing to produce ancient love stories anymore. Only once in a while. I guess, the current trend involves triads. But after watching "The Legend of Love" short music video of the KG duet posted online at Youtube, it just sparked a similar idea. The melody of the KG duet is so magically enchanting, I wish KG would film a romantic ancient film together.

As for Kenny and Isabella? Their voices do not synchronize at all. I think Isabella would have a better chance with Nic in a duet than Kenny.

Even though the TVB music video of the duet was fashionably cheap but at least it portrayed a happy ending unlike the EEG version, the ending was quite ambiguous and upsetting.


Hm, newlyweds? It's funny how they break up so quickly but anyways, in my mind, there's a continuation to this clinging music video so it wasn't a sad ending.

Gillian is way too considerate of others. I would be more like Sa, just be upfront about it and end it there rather than suffering all of those periods of time and in the end still end it.

Yeah but the chances are quite slim though. Seems like EEG loves to split up their artists up into permanent teams or something. And seems like Nic and Sa are a pair and Kenny and Gillian are another along with the third party like *ahem* Isabella.

At times, I can't help but notice that Gillian rarely stars in a film with EEG's leading males like Nic, Kenny, or even Wilson. I bet if EMG invested in a film just solely starring Nic, Kenny, or Wilson alongside Gillian as the main leads, the film might actually gain a decent box office. I think it becomes a bit tedious as well watching the same old pairings like Nic and Sa and Daniel and Gillian.

I would also love to hear Nic and Gillian collaborate in a duet. Nic's strong deep voice just overall compliments Gillian's soft sweet voice. But I'm wondering when that will happen.

I really like Twins' new Mandarin song. It is quite different from previous genres, more Lydiaish/rockish but not completely. Gillian's voice is so sweet in Mandarin. But it's a decent song so far; hopefully, the rest of the album will be just as great or even better especially the ballads.

Lol. Joey? Well, honestly, I believe Sa would be the third party between Nic and Joey because Nic shares the most chemisty towards Joey amongst all of the EEG female artists. And seems like Nic has expressed way too many times how impressed and seduced he is by Joey's growing beauty.

Frankly, I don't see much chemistry between Nic and Sa; seems like both were just doing their parts in portraying their characters in A Chinese Tall Story and New Police Story.

lol. i really like the snowy mountain trailer. it's so "ying"! lol. the music and everything matched very well with the scenes. although i did dislike the fact that they revealed so little of gillian. xP but anyway, i found it funny how they show the wires attached to the actors in the trailer. i really can't wait for this series to broadcast! xD hehe.

wowwwww twins' new song is sooooooooooo untwins'ish! lol. i would of never imagined them to sing a song like this. it is very taiwanish. ahah. (okay i better stop with the "ish'es".) i like the beginning melody! it reminds me of ireland. lol. the start was alright, but the climax eventually rose as it reached the chorus, so that was acceptable. ;D hehe. hmmm i wonder if this is the song for their mv!

regarding the nic/sa, gill/nic, gill/kenny, nic/joey (lol) issue: i also don't think that nic and sa have much chemistry together. xP nic and gill on the other hand is a whole other story. their pictures taken together are so cute (even when they are just standing next to eachother lol). yea, i especially love the ones where nic whispered to gill. but then again, charlene seemed completely neglected. xPP anyway, i especially adore the clip of nic pulling gill into the water. THAT is what i call chemistry. as for joey and nic, yea yea, they're always together. but somehow the chemistry isn't really there. well to me at least. lol. they're more like really close friends rather than a couple. lol. errmm kenny and gill, what more do i have to say? the mv totally sparked me. lol. kg is officially my favorite couple FOR THE TIME BEING! ;D hehe. actually i wouldn't mind gillian acting with daniel again. but please, this time let's throw in a kissing scene... daniel is by far the best kisser i've seen on hk films! ahah.

Yeah. I wonder when the release date will be? The crew are still filming some scenes of Nie Yuan and Ady so hopefully, it's already being processed through the effects and final rounds of editing.

I like the new Twins song too but hm, at times I really can't hear Gillian all that much. Perhaps the real CD version will clear up all of the background noise.

The pulling Gillian into the pool was quite something. Yeah, I have to agree. There's just something that sparks between Nic and Gillian even in still pictures but perhaps Nic doesn't wish to betray his buddy Edison by pursuing Gillian?

I adore Kenny and Gillian more than any other pair currrently too; well, half and half between KG and EG. Kenny and Gillian are so cute and pure together, it's really interesting observing the two.

So Isabella's pretty much the same type of singer as Charlene is; they're both the kind who perform best in songs that consist of standard notes. By far, there's only one song that I really like of Isabella's, and that I think she gave a decent job in, which is 'There's Ghost'. That song is very easy to sing with stable notes, yet the melody is so addicting. I wasn't surprised since it was the same two people who composed the melody and wrote the lyrics for 'Close Friends Not Buddies' by Stephy and Theresa, another song that I like.

I believe that Vincy has the ability to hold a place in the music industry as well, but she hasn't struck me as much as she struck you. Perhaps it's because of her similarity to Joey. Vincy somehow just didn't click in with me as Janice and Kary did. Janice got me addicted right away when I heard 'Big Brother', so I ended up buying both of her CDs. Kary struck me right away the first time I heard a solo from her, back when she was still in Cookies, 'Not A Snazzy Girl', so of course I spent half a year anticpiating on her debut solo album because of the continuous delays, and it finally came out at the beginning of this year. Anyway, Vincy is definitely a nice singer, at least judging from this song, gotta listen to some live singing first to make a final judgement. Gillian and Charlene do need more chances to prove and show their talent because as you've said, Vincy's appearance does make people including them put on a bad reputation.

Rarely are there ancient films; sometimes I don't really like watching ancient films because most of the time, the ancient settings and plots are very 'modernized' so much that they appear ridiculous. Yep, it's almost in every film/series, there's something about triads VS police, and then typically, we will get the overused storyline about undercovers along with it. KG's first duet gives such an ancient vibe to it that if this were to be used in a film, it would have to an ancient film. A plot with magical aspects would be so much fun, but I do hope that it doesn't turn out like 'The Legend of Love'. 'The Legend of Love' just started out with a bad base; there really isn't that much to talk about between the cow herder and the weaving girl. It's meant to be a short story, and turning it into a 20 episodes serial is definitely pushing it. The trailer and the themevideo turned out quite nicely though, with the additional help of Kenny's and Gillian's beautiful voices.

Yeah, the only flaws for 'Cupid's Arrow' were Kenny's and Isabella's unsynchronized voices. I think it's mainly because Kenny's voice is pretty high for a male singer, so it's hard to find another synchronzing voice with it. Isabella's voice is more squeaky than high. I feel that her voice is more pressured, and she was really pushing herself to the verge during their duet. Nic could possibly be a better choice for Isabella than Nic since Nic's voice is more deep, and Isabella could probably easily sing at her own regular pitch with him. It seems like Kenny's only compatible partners are Steven and Gillian for the moment. I heard Kenny sing a short verse with Chucky@Krusty, and..... let's just say it wasn't very synchronizing.



After watching it for so many times, I think I have a new interpretation of the EEG version. In EEG's version, I think the whole MV was merely a flashback of their whole relationship. It was just Kenny and Gillian thinking back to their relationship, and then when the MV showed Kenny looking up to see Gillian disappearing from the doorway/his life, it portrayed the vibe of regret. Overall, the EEG version was still better, but I liked the ending of TVB's more; it would've been nicer if they hugged at the end of the TVB one!

The newlyweds idea came from 'Marriage With A Fool'; it seems a lot like it. Couple thought it'd be the best thing in the world to start living together, but found that reality and differences are a big shocker, so they ended up splitting apart. Maybe there is a continuation to this MV. Maybe the scenes that we know they filmed but weren't shown in the MV weren't filmed for this MV, but the continuation of this MV. Maybe KG really do have a third duet with each other, which is one that narrates what happens after their 'Conscience Discovery'. Wow, so many "maybe's", . Anyway, it really feels like this MV isn't completely finished off, and it seems weird how they filmed all those extra scenes but left them out. Shouldn't the directors kinda know of how long an MV should approximately be? EEG even distributed the photos of the other scenes on their website.


I guess since Boy'Z in general aren't quite that qualified to be pairing up with Twins with the extra members, so EEG's gotta place Twins with their other males, which are their top males, Nic and Kenny. The arrangement is actually quite fine, except for all the triangle relationships that we all have now. But Gillian isn't the third party in the 'relationship', Gillian was Kenny's first partner, and Isabella's the one who came later. It may be hard for Gillian to collaborate with Nic since EEG's pairings are pretty sturdy. Their artistes can't really jump around with their partners.

I think their new song is quite nice as well. The lyrics are nicely written too. It really gives a empathizing feeling towards students. Gillian said that for this album, they've specifically hired lyricists and composersom Taiwan to write their songs to strive for better quality, so I think that's why this song doesn't sound so 'HK-ish'.

really? gillian's voice isn't that audible? well, i haven't heard it that intentively to realize who's voice stands out more. even so, the quality is quite bad. i had to turn my volume all the way up to hear it. i can't wait until the entire cd is released. xD hehe. i hope they plug other songs as well, before the official release of the album! =]

is it me or does gillian seem friendlier to most of the eeg males than charlene? lol. first it was edison, with their glamorous (not) history. then it's boyz, in which gillian loves to pick on steven, whilst kenny loves to pick on gillian. lol. OR MAYBE THAT'S JUST STALKER STATUS! (actually that has nothing to do with friendship, i just wanted to bring it up. )

You guys are so right!!! Isabella and kenny's voice doesn't synchronized at all...It's like listening to a five year old(sorry to isabella's fans) but worse...I don't know why they even put those two together...
After listening to Isabella sing it just killed my music spirit...I'm not trying to be mean or anything but stating the facts...She's pretty in her own ways but her voice doens't go well with kenny and i don't think she can sing all that great...It's the same tone all the way and that can get boring fast...

I was also disappointed by the outcome of the eeg version but i still like it...maybe there's more to it than meets the eye...maybe eeg have something up their sleeves that we don't know of...I mean like what Little_Purple_Bell said "a continuation of Conscious Discovery" why would EEG film those and not add it to the music video...That's just plain stupid and pathetic...Put up sneak peeks of the music video and not have those scenes....Who knows maybe all these maybes are just our illusions trying to find answers to our questions because we're disappointed or something....But I think there's a plausible explanation to as why they didn't put those scenes on...we'll just have to wait and see...Sometimes it makes me so mad at EEG because they're such hyporcrite......Gillian and Kenny have a lot of chemistry together whether there is a kissing scene or not....They're such a lovely couple and after watching their mv It makes all the more reason they should be promoted more together...I bet if eeg invest in Gillian and Kenny more it's probably bond to attract a lot of viewers because of the kind of relationship they have....what more can you ask for if you put these two together...of course the outcome is going to turn out fantastic...
I actually was never really found of Gillian and Edison because Edison to me is more of a flirt...He likes to flirt a lot...he's very flirtatious and Gillian, being the sweet kind-hearted person she is doesn't deserve someone who's very flirty....but in terms of chemistry, yeah, i agree edison and gillian does have that too...but i would prefer Kenny over edison any time....

Isabella and Sa do share a similar vocal range but I have to give some credit to Isabella for at least reaching a lot of the high notes whereas Sa is much more stable with deep notes.

Hm, I like that song too and not to mention the music video. Coincidently, the majority of Kenny music videos revolve around fruits and kitchens (Know First, Breakup Don't Be Sad, and Conscious Discovery), EEG has sort of recycled that idea into Isabella's music videos in "There's Ghost," but overall, the music video was sweet and touching.


Perhaps, Vincy debuted with the perfect song. This song has been one of my favorite songs ever since I heard it a few years ago. I guess, to hear a different version but with the same melody and music, which usually doesn't happen much especially when different artists attempt to recreate the beauty of the song, I'm really enjoying the song for its originality. Vincy is a nice singer. But I suppose, even if Twins sang this song without all of the highs and lows Vincy has demonstrated, I would still enjoy it just as much.

Janice obviously won me over as well with her hit solo, Big Brother. And Kary, even when she sang with Cookies as a complete batch, her voice clearly stood out from the rest.

Hm, I really wish that EEG would push Twins into singing a song like this with all of the rollarcoaster jumps. Vincy is just kicking both Twins' plus other artists' booties, not to sound rude but I do fear for Gillian now, if she does enter the music industry. I mean, Janice and Kary weren't such a big threat to the talentlessness of Twins because competition is bound to happen amongst different companies, but Vincy? A newbie? It's going to become tougher than before. I don't know what I'm implying exactly but I do hope that EEG does give Twins an opportunity to perform a powerful song or else, Twins' regular simple sing a longs probably won't successfully shield them as much, now that competition has heated up.

Gr, I just want to hear Gillian do a live solo performance singing an intense emotional ballad like Vincy's. I just really want to know, hear, and watch if Gillian could really do it once she's pushed to an extreme. (Since the music industry would affect Gillian more than Sa because mostly likely Gillian would be the Twin to begin a solo career in music whereas Sa, acting.) I'm becoming a bit anxious for Gillian. I personally know and am certain that Gillian can do it but too many speculations and not enough evidence to help Gillian break away.

I hope that Gillian's personally written and produced ballad will blow everyone away. But the Cantonese album is so far away, I'm growing so impatient.

Krusty definitely cannot sing period. I also heard actually seen a clip of Kenny and Krusty singing together and my reaction was like . Krusty is another lame example of "loud" supposedly defines real singing.


Hm, that does stimulate several questions as to why the overall picture of this duet and music video seems so incomplete, there are still some missing pieces of the puzzle. I hope that we will all find out to our favor and suprise when Kenny releases his new album.


Yeah, Kenny and Gillian were a pair first. But sadly, they haven't collaborated in a film yet. If Mani is in the process of negotiating a film with EMG for Kenny, since Gillian's schedule seems pretty empty in terms of films, why not promote the two and feature in their duet as the part of the OST?

Seems like Twins can never really perform that well with fast songs *cough* Femininity, Tutorial School for Love, 04 Very Fun and some that I would love to watch Twins perform live are: Two Is Good and High Temperature Yoga. Hm, pretty soon unless the crew decides to extend this version longer with excess MRL scenes too. But don't worry, we'll see Gillian. But I don't want the serial promotions and Twins' Mandarin album promotions to clash! It would be quite tiresome for Gillian to run around if Gillian will even have the opportunity to promote the serial with the cast.

Isabella and Charlene share a similar vocal range, but in terms of live singing, it's less visible on Isabella than it is on Charlene. For Charlene, we obviously heard of her altered deep notes during her live performance at the last concert while Isabella has the high squeak in her voice which helps to make her voice range seem broader, even though she can't push it very far.

Both MVs, EEG and TVB, for 'There's Ghost' were filmed very nicely with a good plot. The TVB version was so sad that I felt like crying after watching it because it was foreshadowing that Isabella was going to be forgotten with the manipulations of Celine; the EEG version was more of the sweet and touching kind like you said, Isabella just understood that she had to let go in the end. But yeah, in the EEG version, Isabella was in the kitchen cutting up a tomato. The fruit concept came up again! Now that you've mentioned it, Kenny's MVs do consist of the fruit concept a lot. If there's a female character in the MV, then most likely there'll be some fruits around.

I can't help but fear the same thing for Gillian as well. Twins have just been in a bad position and recognition by people all over ever since they came out. For Kary, even though she had been bashed of her looks and overshadowed by the other three members during her depressing days in Cookies, she had always been recognized as a person who can sing, and Paco would always defend her with that point. The case is very different for Gillian; not only is she overshadowed by Charlene when she is in Twins, but she is often bashed about her looks by stating that she is nothing but a flower vase; worse, she is mostly recognized as a person who cannot sing. Even though Gillian is gaining more recognition about her recent live singing, but without a good, challenging song, it'll be long before Gillian can completely scratch off her dreadful labels.

I wish EEG could put as much though into Twins as they do for their newcomers. Can't they see that Twins can't go on carrying the name of 'singers who can't sing'? Or do they just want to Twins to always get the comment about 'Yeah, they improved, but still a long way to go'? As worried as I am for Gillian and Twins, I was a little thrown off when I see that around the forums, it is Joey that people are comparing Vincy with and not Twins. I was so sure that Twins would be bashed so much with the appearance of Vincy, but I wasn't expecting for Joey to be the one. Joey has always been known as a good singer, but perhaps it's the similarity? There are quite a few people expressing that they think Vincy can take over Joey.

Gillian needs to prove herself with her singing soon since she's probably the Twin who will be going into singing. I'm pretty sure that Gillian can handle the rollercoaster notes of an emotional song, probably even better than the sing-alongs. We know for sure that Gillian has no problem singing solo; even Gillian herself knows it because she's expressed that she has no problem of singing alone. Gillian just needs a song that can push her to her limits. We also need EEG to give her enough support for it all. I'd imagine that her personally produced, composed and written solo will be the most meaningful song to her because it is solely based on her abilities, and if this song will be plugged, receive recognition, and that people can see that Gillian can perform it nicely live, then Gillian is nearly safe to start her solo singing career. Do you think EEG will plug Gillian's solo? They should if they're going to push Gillian into singing, but would they? EEG does too many unexpected things that we can never predict what's next. Twins' mandarin album is releasing on 26th of this month, so it's still a long time before the release of the cantonese one. I wonder how they're going to fit it into their schedule? May is reserved for their mandarin album; June is scheduled for their co-starring film. It leaves them July and August that they don't have plans in, so would it be that they're producing it then or releasing/promoting it then? Or will they actually be recording songs through May/June/July, and then release it sometime during August? I don't want it to be a rushed album because it will mean a lot to both of them, especially to Gillian, for its main aim is at the HK listeners, who are the biggest factors of all. But then I also don't want them to release it at the end of the year because it doesn't do them much justice at Chik Chak because they won't have enough time to plug their songs.

I don't think Krusty is even a group that sells their singing in any aspect. They're just here to sell their energetic image with all the dancing on stage. Rarely are they plugging songs, or do they get recognition for their songs. They're just recognized for all the dancing and moving around they do on stage.

As cute and decently filmed as the MV of 'Conscience Discovery' is, I still find it incomplete. There just feels like there's something missing to the story; that's why I'm guessing that there might be a sequel to this. I hope it's a good outcome when Kenny's next album comes out.

That sounds like an amazingly good plan, but would Mani do it? She doesn't exactly adore Gillian. (Geez, I was so peeved at Mani when I was watching a clip of a 2004 awards ceremony. Gillian was bawling her eyes out while thanking Mani and Ng Yu; the camera then shot down to the audience, and it showed Ng Yu smiling back at Gillian while Mani just had a straight face.Then Mani shows this big giggle when Charlene made this comedic effect. It's not surprising, but Mani could've at least showed some appreciation when someone's thanking her.) I guess it may happen. Mani still allows the pairing of KG to be going on before and after Kenny being a member of Boy'Z, and KG is still a compatible pair being accepted by fans, regardless of if Mani is fond Gillian or not. It could also be possible if one of the goals was to promote the OST of the film, and it could promote Kenny's and Gillian's singing. Gillian can't be pulled out of films completely, so I hope that she and Kenny could co-star in a film this year while Charlene goes off to film that movie with Shu Qi. Gillian also brings a promising boxoffice result, seeing her recent hit for '49 Days'; Mani could look into that and see that it would be a benefit for Kenny if he was really going to be put in more films afterwards. I'm just dying to see how Kenny and Gillian would portray their chemistry in a film, seeing that they can already do it within a 4 minute MV so well!

I guess in response to gillforever89's post on page 40 and in association to our discussion, the reason why I believe Gillian performed her best during the earlier days of Twins was because the songs weren't as simplified as now. Emotional songs that required quite a stretch such as: Thanks for the Breakup, Lady in A Perplex World, Friend's Love, and Kite and Wind complimented Gillian's vocals. "Kindergarten" was a beautiful song but so simple even though there were some high notes sprinkled here and there, likewise towards their entire " The Missing Piece" album. That's probably why this album wasn't as successful on the charts in comparison to previous albums even though, "The Missing Piece" was considered to be one of Twins' best and improved albums. Sorry to say but adding a few high notes at each ending verse isn't considered much at all. I don't think Gillian has an issue controlling her vocals then or now but since Gillian's voice isn't suited for standard notes, which is the current pattern Twins' songs follow, Gillian has difficulty positioning her notes to a standard level because her voice can stretch way higher and much more emotionally solid than what is expected so when Gillian attempts to retain her vocals at a certain standard level, she goes off tune.

EEG has never failed to entertain Twins fans with Twins' maturing and changing image with new catchy songs and touching ballads but what really is the missing piece is the quality of Twins themselves as singers that has never changed in the minds of the audience. Yeah, Twins have improved here and there but it would be quite empty to state that Twins are good singers. They have nice songs but apparently, have not at all convinced anyone into believing that they're competent enough to be labelled as singers.

Gillian has sort of broke some barriers with her recent live performances but Gillian needs to perform a more spectacularly dramatic ballad than that to reduce a decent amount of criticisms. Hm, why can't Gillian help promote Vincy by singing Vincy's ballad, solo that is. Ah, I wish Gillian would just have an open opportunity to sing an intense song live for once.

I guess, everyone is just bored of Joey these days. I mean, the only really talented singers or at least personally according to me, are Joey and Kelly. Denise (Hocc), Miriam, Sammi? I guess, I'm not a fan of deep vocals, which also explains why I was intrigued by Gillian's singing rather than Sa's. And don't even mention Fiona. I'm not that certain if I like her more in music or in films, perhaps neither. I don't even know why Fiona was on that A-List of female singers. Hm, these artists are the only ones surfacing at the moment so there could be more but I guess I'll share my opinions about the ones I have acquainted myself with the most. Janice and Kary aren't included because they're more like Group B, a newer batch of singers. Hm, Kary has a deep voice but to me, it's unique, suited for rock, which is something none of the female singers listed up there do.

Seriously, I think some people are just jealous of Joey for achieving so much at such a young age. Vincy is a nice singer but I don't think she'll be able to swallow Joey's potential. Well, unless Joey pulls out of the ET industry now and allows her xiao mei to climb up by lessening the competition or eventually when Joey ages (I'm considering Vincy must be younger than Joey.), Vincy can have her share of the pie. People tend to just begin hating when an artist repetitively receives the "Best/Gold Award" year after year so with each new artist that enters the industry, people in general are just hoping for a new winner or challenger to break the pattern. So I don't find it odd that Joey and Vincy are being compared.

I mean, I guess it's pointless comparing Vincy to Twins because it's obvious that Vincy is um sadly, better? Vincy skipped all the way up, passing Twins, Yumiko, Mandy, Isabella, etc. and landed right next to Joey, which means, Vincy has definitely reserved a spot right beside Joey in singing potential. I only mentioned Twins in relations to Vincy because Twins are a horrible reflection of Vincy's promising talent.


I've been contemplating lately, EEG seems to have shifted gears. Now, I'm not even sure if EEG will even promote Gillian in a solo music career, now that Vincy has entered the picture. At least for Sa, she's definitely entering the acting industry for sure, a much safer arena. Once Twins officially split, EEG would completely discard the "Twins Days" since it's something of the past and freeze Gillian, now that Vincy plus several other future newcomers can and will replace Gillian in the music industry. EEG only praises those artists that are currently beneficial; they really don't care if Twins was the hottest thing that built their empire up until now (Joey, Nic, and Eason too) because once Twins split, Twins are of yesterday's leftover dinner. Who can digest that? Aiya, headache. I mean, EEG is trying to erase their name by promoting talented singers from here on out and if the criticisms won't stop flooding about Twins' bad singing, I'm afraid Gillian may not even have an opportunity to begin a solo career. Gillian's golden chance is her upcoming solo because I doubt Gillian alone would receive any exposure with the Mandarin album. Hopefully, it will be a wonderfully intense ballad for all HK listeners.

If Twins have already expressed that they're composing and producing their own songs at the moment, seems like Twins is in the process of recording their Cantonese album too since their Mandarin album has already been completed, prepared for release. Or perhaps, half of the Cantonese album will be recorded now and the other half later when the solos have been reviewed and edited. I'm predicting, the Cantonese album may likely be released before all of the huge holidays at the end of the year because EEG artists usually record a separate holiday special album anyways so EEG wouldn't want to abuse their money hungry methods.

I also hope as well that Gillian will have more to film for theatres than just the Twins movie. Mani extremely adores Kenny and despises Gillian, that's probably why Mani has never permitted any further or serious collaboration between KG such as films or live performances; perhaps, Mani is reserving Kenny for *ahem* Sa? Anyways, the chances for KG are quite slim for any project. The only reason why Kenny was even Gillian's partner during the Twins-Boy'z days was because of their matching ages and the KG duets? Well, after the unsynchronized Kenny and Isabella duets that practically sort of went nowhere, Gillian was the next best candidate. Again, I think Kenny and Sa's voices wouldn't synchronize all too well either since Sa's voice is a bit deeper than Kenny's. Don't shoot me for saying that lol.

But if the Mandarin album somehow fails in sales and interest, the sponsors/producers/directors of the serial probably doesn't want viewers to correlate Gillian's music business into her acting realm. I wonder when Gillian's contract with EEG will end. The sooner, the better. I totally support the idea of Gil switching record companies, but Gil doesn't seem like someone who would leave the company that she worked for for 5 years. It just doesn't seem like something Gillian would do, but I hope she makes the right decision when the contract ends.

On the other hand, if she does switch companies, what are the chances of Gil being promoted? Yes, she's popular, but she has a reputation for bad singing, well, Twins does. But as a solo artist, I'm sure that'll end. All Gillian really needs right now is a great ballad that will change all (or at least some) of people's opinions on her singing. We can really just blame the 4 music charts and the media from what has become of the scenery for the female singers. Right now, it's more or less just Joey's or Miriam's world. Sammi has pretty much stepped back from singing because of her film producing earlier and now her health; with her lack of participation, the media and the music charts just immediately boot her off the list. As for Kelly, even though she continues to work hard for the sake of music with continuous great performances, the media and music charts just somehow remove her from competing for the female singer award; instead, they just keep giving her that Asia award. I love Kelly's singing so much, so it's really angering when I see that she gets presented the Asia award every year when she obviously is still sticking around in the music industry and still releasing albums. It's not like Kelly's really old or anything; why are they banning her from award receiving? As for Denise, HK people just haven't completely accepted her as one of the lead singers. The only thing that they recognize her for is being Anita Mui's apprentice. I guess Denise doesn't have that much of an ambition to compete either.

Fiona's just on the A-list of female singers because her company has no more other female singers, so in order for Warner to hold their place with the other record companies, they just have to do their best to push Fiona out there. They had Gigi Leung before, but she's in a bit of isolation because of her personal life, so Fiona's Warner's only choice at the moment. Kary obviously can't squeeze up to the A-list because Gold Label is still mainly focusing on Miriam's achievements as their main female singer, and Janice just came into the picture last year. It's a good thing for Janice though; we wouldn't want people suddenly giving criticisms because of her sudden promotions even if she does have the talent for it.


Some HK people definitely do have some kind of hatred towards Joey because of her continuous awards receiving. It was heated up so much during the time just before the award ceremonies. I wonder how old Vincy is? She must be 21 or older, considering she was at the Budweiser promotion of which Isabella and Steven weren't allowed to be at since they weren't old enough. Vincy just simply makes Twins and the others look so bad. Twins really need to get into action because what if it does happen that HK people start looking for more talent, then Twins may really get neglected from that.

Wow, from what you said, it sounds so much like KG are made possible because (1) Mani has no other choice. and (2) Gillian is simply competent for the job. I don't doubt your theory at all. It's all still so amusing that 'Cupid Arrow' by Kenny and Isabella was sang live numerous times, and it was a commerical song, but it wasn't as well-liked nor accepted as 'Conscience Discovery' with Kenny and Gillian, despite its lack of promotions? Voices are natural things, so Mani can't change the fact that Kenny's and Gillian's voices synchronize; therefore, they are suitable for a duet. I'm not fond of hearing a Kenny+Charlene duet either because I don't think they could synchronize well either. (1) Charlene has a deeper voice than Kenny, so unless they're going to get Kenny to sing the female part and Charlene the male part, I don't see how it'll work out. I don't really want to hear Charlene try to stretch her voice out to meet the high notes either. (2)Kenny and Charlene have a similar voice base, and duets usually don't work out that well with similar voice bases. (3) Kenny's voice is simply hard to synchronize with for almost anyone.

Kenny's upcoming film is going to EMG produced, so the female lead's more than likely going to be an EEG artiste. Even if Mani did want to 'reserve' Kenny for Charlene, she wouldn't be able to do that since Charlene has another film on hand. There's a high chance that it could be Isabella though since EEG does want to push her into more acting. The only downside with the choice of Isabella is she doesn't have a very stable and promising boxoffice result. There's a slight chance that Gillian will be used, just so the film can mooch off of Gillian's popularity and receive good responses.

If Gillian were to switch companies, I'm really looking forward to her joining Gold Label. Even though I think that Alex and Stephy is in that company and it may even start rumors again, but still, I find that Paco seems like a nice and good manager. He seems really supportive of his artists and definitely shows how proud and happy he is for his artists that win awards, unlike Mani.... Yeah, I'm really hoping that Gillian will be able to produce a good song out for herself to sing solo in. It's also because I'm sure we're all anxious to find out how well she can compose a song. I think Gillian's composing songs has some degree of standards because Ronald Ng didn't reject them; he's actually taking time to do necessary edits on them, so I think Gillian's composing is useable. If they were that bad, then I'd imagine Ronald would've rejected them right off like he did with Charlene's composing (I don't mean that as an offense to Charlene, just stating a fact.). As for lyrics writing, I think Charlene should continue to write lyrics because the lyrics she wrote for 'Love' were pretty good. I also want to know how Gillian would write lyrics, but if they turn out bad, then she probably shouldn't continue writing them until further practice. Nothing worse than a song that doesn't make sense.

I'm especially looking forward to the song that Gillian's being the producer for since she could feel around with what she can do with her song, and possibly create a great outcome for herself. It'd be really good if Gillian can find her rightful style of singing soon. I really don't want her to quit singing because I'm sure that she has the potential in her; she just needs the recognition for her singing, and maybe her composing and lyrics writing later on.

I'm really thinking that Gillian would have such a nice future if she went to Gold Label. I really like how Paco is as a manager, especially because he's so equally supportive for everyone, and he understands what each of his artistes are capable of. Mani just bases everything on favortism. If switching companies can bring Gillian a good singing career, who cares about rumours? It's extra exposure. But still, this is all just wishful thinking.
