hmm now that you've mentioned it, charlene's voice does sound different depending on whether she's singing or not. my prediction is that when she's singing she's more serious, therefore her voice is portrayed deeply. on the other hand, when she's talking she tends to be more playful, so her voice alters. but i could be wrong. ahah. it could be one way or the other. maybe her voice is just like that? unique in her own ways. lol.

In a sense, the relationship with Gillian and the guy is less predictable. It's too cliche with the whole idea of falling in love with person who found their (insert) or vice versa. I don't know. Just a prediction but isn't it unlikely that in Twins' songs, there would be vibratos? If Gillian didn't sneak it in, I have no idea why I hear vibratos when Gillian was singing Probably the guy who was in charge of fanalizing the songs "ignored/dismissed" Gillian adding in vibratos since it feels like Taiwan is more fair and linear on Gillian. Overall, Gillian is probably more recognized for potential more than the HK audience will be aware of.



Isn't harder to pronounce the words when a person is singing? It makes me wonder how come Charlene pronounces words clearly when she sings yet she slurs when she talks. I think it's Charlene's hair that might have added that few years to her but Charlene does seem to be aging faster than Gillian (hope no offense is taken from Charlene fans who is reading this )

How can such a sad song not have some tears to add the finishing touch. I hope Gillian will shed a few tears too. It just grasps the essence of the whole MV and song and make it extra worthwhile/good.

Yeah but the whole idea of allowing Sa to witness the sweet telephone booth scene is to comprehend that two persons love each other and she should not intervene. Friendship is important and precious but I don't see any logic of one friend sacrificing for another through this method. If Gillian and the guy remain together, at least they're happy and eventually Sa will move on with life but if Gillian was to break up with him, all three would be in more pain as no one receives that beautiful love. I know, EEG and their silly restrictions. At least Edison was permitted to kiss Gillian's arm though so perhaps, this guy can give Gillian a peck on the cheek to arouse the audience. I also hope that Gillian and the guy will end up happily together; it's only fair, both love each other. Would Sa's character decide to leave the guy she loves as well if the guy fell in love with her and not Gillian; a switch of places?

I'm glad that Gillian added in some surprises for us. Gosh, I love Gillian's voice in vibratos; they add life into the melody. I'm anticipating for the full version as well! Vincy, I just watched the JSG clip Bluehearts uploaded. Vincy sounds decent; a bit more of improvement and she'll be on her way to the top. I guess, Vincy hasn't gotten used to performing live yet so she's still a bit nervous and shaky with this live event but as far as her voice quality goes, it's good.

If so, please report to EEG that, PLEASE change Gillian's old curly hairstyle by the next Cantonese album and Twins film.*begs and prays* In this song and the live performance of this song in particular, Gillian has shown so so much improvement, it's not even improvement anymore but rather true talent in music. I couldn't hear Gillian's vibratos during the live concert due to the poor quality, background noises, and unclear audio so I really want to see Gillian perform vibratos in the next live performance.

I think both Twins pronounce words clearer on CD or when singing is because that is something they have been practicing and working with for a few weeks but when speaking, the open-ended questions are new so their minds have to find answers to them without having a map of words for their responses so at times they have to slur their words so people can't catch their mistakes in tones and words etc. Plus, Sa not only slurs her words together in Mandarin but also in Cantonese; I guess, Sa just likes to speak that way. Gillian is quite clear and articulate when singing and speaking in both Cantonese and Mandarin. Sa does seem a bit older. Sa looks pretty with longer hair but I think I prefer her with short hair because she looked way more unique that way.

Thanks for the file. I already watched it and I agree, Vincy does possess a nice voice. She has some areas to improve on but naturally, her voice is talent. This was a pretty difficult song to sing in the first place so I applaud her for hitting all of those extremely high notes. Hm, when will Gillian sing such a song? Hopefully, soon.

I don't like the idea of companies releasing 2nd and 3rd versions of an album, but with only one or two songs/MVs as extras. Like the 2nd version of 'The Missing Piece'. But since they know that there are some hardcore fans out there who would buy all the products of their idols anyways, so why not? I always wondered though what the artists themselves think about it. Out of all the artists, I've only heard Eason express what he thinks about it, and as expected he (like most of us) doesn't like the tactic much either.

EEG used to be much better before, with artists like Grace, Swing (even though I haven't heard them sing, but Eric is definitely a good composer), Lillian, Roman etc. Compare their artists before and now...that's a huge difference in terms of talent. Isabella, Yumiko nor Mandy is nowhere near Grace...


I think many HK artists of the younger generation doesn't speak Cantonese that clearly. They tend to have those 'lazy sounds' (懶音). For example the word I/me (我), which should be pronounced 'ngoh', they would pronounce it 'oi' instead. I think it will add some "sluriness" when one speaks like that.

I feel for both of the characters, and both deserve their respected sympathy. Both Sa and Gill portrayed their emotions well in this music video. I could totally sense Sa's longing to be with him through her expressions/actions and Gill, I could sense her desire to be with him, but her hesitancy too. This MV is so great =D I can't wait for the ending. I am rooting for the guy to be with Gill too, which would make a happy ending for Gill and a tragic ending for Sa. Many of the directors/producers that Gillian worked with before compliment her and state that she has potential. Even the director of 'The Death Curse' said that Gillian has a lot of potential hidden in her after he watched her portray her psychopathy in the film, and she was merely a supporting role in the film. I'm certain that the directors, producers, and the crews have a much better idea of what happens during filming, and they have a better ability to see what each artiste carries among themselves than what we can see from outside the box. Each film that Gillian had as a female lead never failed. The ones that fail of hers are the ones of where she plays a character that appears for 10 - 15 minutes or for 5 scenes. What Gillian could use in her career is the least bit of support from her own management company, and some persisting directors and producers such as Stephen Fung, Pang Ho Chang, and Tsui Siu Ming. Those are the directors who actually believed in her. Stephen has commented that he believes Gillian could be a successful martial arts actress; Pang Ho Chang gave Gillian her first solo leading role, and he believes that she has a lot of acting potential but she is just always overshadowed. Tsui Siu Ming had the confidence to plant all the focus and promotions of his film onto Gillian, believing that she can pull in successful results. When even others see what Gillian beholds, what do we see from her own management company? Gillian only found out that she was even offered the leading role in 'Abnormal Beauty' after it was turned down by Mani/EEG. The reason they gave was it ruins the image of Twins. Then what is it that we're seeing here of Gillian receiving '49 Days' and Charlene receiving 'Diary'?

How can beauty and opportunities be scaled out? Beauty can be said to just be a bonus for easy acceptance on-screen, but what good is beauty going to do for you if you have limited or no opportunities? Whereas, even if you don't have the best looks around, but if you're granted enough opportunities, you will succeed as long as you put in the effort and hardwork. It's true that Gillian has appeared in many films, but how many are actually that memorable? If Gillian does take an exit to focus on singing, then it wouldn't even be one film a year seeing what Joey's work pattern is. We may be able to see her in some TVB series though, but we can't even be sure and expect EEG to be fully promoting Gillian even if she only based her career on singing. No fans should even complain about Charlene; if I were in Charlene's shoes, I wouldn't have anything to complain about. She gets a good amount of exposure and opportunities, and there are recognitions about her even before her project has released. What is there to complain about? She has all of what an artiste would hope for. I'm sorry to say, but the complaining about Charlene not having duets with Kenny is plain stupid. Just stop for a second, and take a look at each of their voices. There won't be too great of a chemistry created there when combined together. KC shares chemistry on-screen, but not on songs. You think that it's because there's nothing complain about for Charlene, so they're taking every chance they can get to complain? It's not like it's only Gillian singing without Charlene. Charlene has had just as many duets with someone else as Gillian has; she had one more than Gillian if you count Fishball song.

I think the question mark should be 上 (xiang), and seeing that the lyrics didn't write Gillian's parts in, I added in my own (G)'s. Gillian says that the time she spent in Mainland filming her serial really helped her improve her mandarin since she frequently had to speak it to communicate with others. Charlene's voice often has a little fuzzy effect on it, but I'd imagine that's just a characteristic of her voice?

It's so nice to hear that Gillian's sneaking in vibratos!! She's really trying to give more challenge to herself to give improvements to her singing! I don't hear Charlene doing vibratos either, but maybe it's because the MV version was still a bit fuzzy, and Charlene's voice isn't very easy to listen for sometimes. Right now, she sounds pretty much the same to me like her previous songs, but let's just see how it is when the CD version comes out.

The thing about Gillian doing vibratos, I think she has started doing vibratos a bit earlier. The first time I really noticed Gillian doing a bit of vibratos was in Starlight Amusement Park, it's like her 2nd or 3rd line in the song, its very small and short, but if you listen in carefully, you'll be able to hear it. Then after I noticed it, when I listened back to some of her old songs, I heard a bit of it, there's none that I can really think of now except for one, and it was in the Legend Of Love themesong. I noticed she did a bit of vibratos from the mv that was uploaded onto youtube from TC.

I also have this clip of Gillian singing at their Beijing concert in 2005 where Twins sings this song called "Quing Fei De Yi" or something like that, I posted a karoake version of this song earlier, but yeah, in their live performance of this song at their concert, Gillian sang this song WONDERFULLY. It even had some small vibratos in it too, well I think so. At first when you hear Gillian singing, she sounds like her usual self, but the more she sang her solo verse in the song, she got more into the song and sang more powerfully to where she sounded really confident and sang really well. I would upload this clip, but I need to cut the part out seeing how it's a big file. So I'm going to try to do that during this weekend seeing how we have Memorial Day off too. So just wait for a while to see Twins singing this song! After watching her performing this song, I kept on going back to her parts over and over again to hear her singing. =D I'm not sure if you guys would like it as much as I do, but yeah, it's one of my personal favorites of Gillian's live performances, even though she forgets some lines again like how she does sometimes, but still a great performance from her.

Hm, as busy as Twins are, they probably don't even realize that so many versions of each album are released. I mean, Twins usually leave everything up to EEG's productions crew to take care of and the only thing Twins control are their vocals in the recording studio and their attendance at promotions. Even if Twins did know and were against it, they're not as bold as Eason to directly jab at EEG's money hungry ways.

Yes, EEG's not the only music label that has dwindled down in terms of quality, others have too, which altogether creates the depressing slope HK has experienced these past few years.

Yeah, the youth has been using too much slang lately, sometimes I can't even understand half of the things they're speaking when I visit Taiwan lol but perhaps, my Mandarin isn't up to par anyways lol.

Seriously, EEG really is promoting and sponsoring Sa to grab a hold of the Best Actress Award before Gillian, aren't they? If only Gillian had been aware that the role of Abnormal Beauty was offered to her, she may have attempted to override Mani's decision. Gillian would have ruled the box office placing at #1 and #2 and who knows, Gillian may have won Best Actress with two convincing roles under her profile. I don't buy that exuse either of how Sa and Gillian are acting towards different images so certain films accepted depends on that image. I'm sorry, but Gillian's Beyond Our Ken and Sa's Diary is similar, and I said similar not exactly! So if those two films fall within the same range, Abnormal Beauty so does too but why the rejection for Gillian and acceptance towards Sa? I guess, Sa will always be the exception for everything. Gr. Thinking about this issue really upsets me.

Hm, don't forget about Sa's duet with Yu Chiu or are we just counting duets with males? Even though, there will be some hardcore Alex-Stephy fans out there attacking Gillian if Alex and Gillian were to collaborate on a duet, but I think the majority would love to hear that. Gillian's voice is sweet which suits deep voices like Alex, Nic, Edison, even Shawn etc. I thought Alex and Stephy's Nice Love music video was well produced.

Aiya, that question mark is the character 上? That simple eh, and I missed it! The vibratos usually come in at the end of each note. Gillian stretches her voice in vibratos so lovely and beautiful whereas Sa, she takes a breath at each ending note so it makes it difficult to detect vibratos if there are any. And it seems like Sa is ending her notes a bit earlier than usual while Gillian is extending them in visible vibratos. I guess, Twins have differed in singing techniques afterall.

I love this music video as well. It's so highly invested. I love the unclear light colors, they create a sorrowful yet hopeful tone. I've watched this short music video all morning yesterday and today; I have it on repeat so boy, I've already watched it way too much.

Gillian's serial probably won't be finished and ready for release until the end of this year which is perfect timing since Gillian doesn't have much activities at the end of this year so she'll be able to attend the promotions and functions while Sa is out filming.

Gillian has been singing like CD quality. All of her emotions are present yet her physical appearance is so gentle and calm during live performances. Isn't it a little extreme to be calling it stupid? Perhaps Charlene fans do want KC to collaborate in a duet seeing that Gillian had an opportunity, just like some Gillian fans want Gillian to collaborate with Nicholas seeing that Charlene had the opportunity. Or maybe they want their favorite idols to sing a duet together. Lots of different types of voices do duets, there shouldn't be a set factor that certain voices can only do duets together.

It's been mentioned that the 2nd version of their Mandarin album will release on July 11th. The idea about 2nd versions are more than likely thought up by the record companies. The record companies share such a big portion of their artistes' income that they just want more and more as if fans are really made of money. It's most likely just going to be only Eason who would ever speak about about his dissatisfactions for 2nd versions; other artistes and especially EEG artistes wouldn't utter a word.

Yes, that's definitely one of the negativities about the younger generation of HK artistes. Charlene has that problem sometimes as well; that's why you can visibly notice during the 2006 concert that she was working a lot on her 咬字 to get her words to a more accurate pronounciation. I wonder if it's because I've gotten used to her 懶音 that I actually thought it sounded weird sometimes when she put extra force to getting the right pronounciation?

Didn't the news say that Gillian steps out, and Twins stay friends? Perhaps the plot wasn't plotted so cliche with the dog founder not falling in love with the dog owner, so they plotted it to be friendship more important than anything so that they would continue the non-cliche idea? But why can't love and friendship fit into a person's life at the same time? I bet the MV is probably going to have some sad scenes of everyone towards the end during and after Gillian announces the break up, but then Gillian's going to go, 'Oh, at least I still have my best friend.' Then she's going to meet up with Charlene, and they live happily ever after.

I hope Twins will perform 'I Really Want To Love Him' during JSG this Wednesday; the whole EEG is going on JSG to promote the Budweiser themesong, and I'd imagine they would let Twins sing a song from their mandarin album since it's coming out this week. Then we can hear a much clearer live version of Twins singing this song, and we can hear how Gillian expresses her vibratos live.


Well, it was just that from reading the lyrics and seeing who the composer is, we concluded that Gillian's solo is more than likely to be a faster and more upbeat song that has a similar theme with 'So Yesterday'. Gillian's and Hilary's singing are so different that there's nothing comparable there, and I wouldn't mind to have Gillian have her solo along that genre that 'So Yesterday' is in since Gillian's never tried it before.

For me, I think Charlene has more confidence of speaking it towards the media or in interviews while Gillian needs to think a bit more and stumbles a bit more, but ironically I find that Gillian has better pronounciation during songs than Charlene. I don't know why, but that's what I hear.

The last time I heard news about Gillian's serial was that it was very close to being done, and it will be out sometime this year.

EEG seems to have always wanted Charlene to grab the 'Best Actress Award' because whenever Charlene has a new film out, they would always advertise that it would be a role that can achieve her the 'Best Actress Award'. If Gillian did get the role of 'Abnormal Beauty', then she would've had double the exposure at once with two films screening at once. There would've been a difference with the comments about her acting.

Didn't Charlene just do a speaking part in Yu's song? She didn't sing in the song, so I didn't count that one. Well, it doesn't have to be Alex, but I'd just rather it be him because he has good histories with his duets. I just want to hear Gillian collaborate with a deep male voice in a ballad. Her duet with Edison was more rowdy, so it's harder to listen for how the voices synchronize together, but then Edison rarely does any slow songs, and he does sound better in fast songs. Shawn rarely sings anymore because he's edging towards films more nowadays. If an Alex+Gillian collaboration occurred, there would definitely be Alex+Stephy fans objecting, but as they object, it would cause more exposure for the song itself because people would be rushing to listen to see how it compares with Alex+Stephy duets. Alex's voice seems to synchronize with voices of all kinds, perhaps it's because he has a voice that ranges right in the middle along the standard notes. He sounded nice with all Stephy, Theresa, and Rain Li.

I'm so glad that Gillian's making attempts to sneak vibratos in because as she does that, she's really starting to have the Christine Samson tone in her singing; it's the strength and stretch in the voice that both Joey and Kary display as they sing. Gillian hasn't portrayed that as they did with the standardized notes of Twins songs.


You can put it as extreme for me calling it stupid. I agree that many different types of voices do duets, but just try imagining a Kenny+Charlene duet. If they produce a duet later on, perhaps they can prove me wrong, but I don't see their voices producing a synchronizing duet for the moment, given their similar voice bases and their range of singing notes. Kenny tends to sing high, and Charlene tends to sing low. It may work if Kenny sings the high notes while Charlene sings the low notes, but it may turn out weird as well. Perhaps they could both make differences in how they sing later on, and a duet will work. Who knows?

That line was actually just a statement of sarcasm that I was directing to asillysaint, so I'm sorry if you took that offensively. And not stating it in the Charlene forum? Well, for one thing, I don't visit the Charlene thread very often, and there isn't a discussion about KC occurring there right now, is there? Because I'd feel a bit weird if I were to just go there and make a post out in the blues about why KC shouldn't duet; wouldn't that just cause arguments with others and offend KC fans? The topic of why KC shouldn't duet was more like a side-topic that we just got into by our other discussions, so we just made some brief discussions and comments about it, and that was that.

That's how the article that introduces the MV said it was going to be like: Gillian's going to be leave the guy after realizing Charlene's miseries despite her own pain to save their friendship.

The 2nd version is coming out on July 11th as I've heard, but I'm not completely sure though. If it's true, then it's about a month's wait. Waiting sounds good since a little wait means you can get all the bonus stuff that they put in later on and charge for the almost the same price as the 1st version. But then, their cantonese album is coming out in the summer as well, so that plan of waiting might make it a heavier ordering list. Separating out the orders to balance it out might be better if you have a tight budget. It's more than likely that there'll be 2nd versions because they have filmed three MVs already, but none of them are releasing with the CD; the only difference there is is when they're releasing it.

Hi i just watched 我很想愛他 PV that is posted about 7 posts up, and I must say the song is not bad at all, back in the days of amazing album they're mando songs were quite strange to me, but i guess their mando songs have quite some appeal now to the people in this thread at least! Gillian is pretty, but as she grows especially contrasting the PVs of twins accumulated thru the years her face has stretched a bit and doesn't look as cute anymore - although i don't see you guys complaining! hehe

Well, we all understand that each and every one of us has our own idol we support and love but I think it's a bit extreme too calling it unfair for KC not collaborating on a duet. The issue of KC not having a duet has nothing to do with being biased or not, that's why Little_Purple_Bell stated that. Of course, everything we say here have always been regarded as opinions and insights for all fans to read, whichever way or however each fan decides to digest that information, we shouldn't be held responsible and have never claimed anything to be facts lol. Facts may not necessarily be the truth as well.

As Little_Purple_Bell has mentioned, it would be weird if she just interrupted the Sa thread with sensitive KC comments. There are already enough threads involving Twins in the Critics Hang Out section, we don't want more agitation towards Twins. Plus, the unfair treatment is an issue that happens to affect Gillian fans in particular; no one cares enough to investigate or sympathize for Gillian especially, when so many people out there have no idea that this bias treatment exists; the only thing they see is how over-exposed Twins are (something I disagree on Gillian's behalf) and what a pattern of good looking but talentless stars Twins have created. Even Twins and Sa fans don't have much empathy towards this issue as long as Twins remain as Twins (together) so it's quite pointless to begin a thread that other people really have no idea about or choose not to care. But I guess, we all understand. Everyone wishes for their idol to shine so we're not criticizing anyone for not looking deeper into the situation within Twins. It seems like, to point out certain bias issues within Twins is to in a way step on Sa, which are not our intentions at all; that's probably why certain fans choose not to dwell deeper into the unfair treatment. And some fans may simply see no bias at all; well, what can I say, it's Gillian's who has been placed in the back seat, not Sa so I don't expect Sa fans to understand in the first place.


I hope so too. Hopefully, the microphones are working well because sometimes during live performances, it really depends on how high quality the microphone is too in order to capture the quality of the projected voice. Go Gillian!

That is something that bugs me. Why can't they let the movie prove itself instead of early promotions and advertisements to persuade the audience into believing that Sa will portray a break through role and win the Best Actress Award. That only makes Sa look bad in the end if all things don't fall accordingly.

Alex does possess a nice voice that seems to match everyone he has collaborated with so far. I for one would love to hear an Alex and Gillian duet. The duet might even skyrocket farther then the Alex-Stephy duets because Gillian is more popular and widely loved anyways.

I love Gillian's voice in vibratos. Gillian's voice is so soothing and full of life yet mixed with sorrow.

i must admit i was a little confused by the second half of the mv. it kind of seemed like the

guy was two-timing ah gill and ah sa. if he really liked ah gill, then why did

he seem closer to ah sa like when he took a bite out of ah sa's ice cream cone and was

about thisclose to almost kissing her? shouldn't that scene have been that he takes a bite

out of ah gill's ice cream cone and they stare each other while ah sa looks on at them in

the distance, heartbroken? i have to say that i liked the first half of the mv

a lot better b/c the last half just focused on charlene and her pain and didn't even show

gillian with the guy or gillian showing her feelings except for that one heartbreaking part in

the end when ah gill looks torn but makes the decision to choose friendship over love and

takes ah sa's hand and runs with her. alright, enough with my ranting.

*sighs* Well, that was kind of disappointing. Not just because of the screentime of Twins, but the whole second half of the storyline just totally when downhill! What is with the guy? The second half also ruined the good image of the guy in my head He just totally turned into a jerk.....

Charlene was not away from the screen for more than a minute. Gillian only shown up again after when the MV was going to end! What is that? Is that anymore obvious or what? I can really see how the MV is more about Gillian's character about I see the whole MV The second half just totally made it obvious who's point of view it is in.

I think they rushed throught the second half. They should show when Gillian realized Charlene also liked the guy. They should have at least have one scene where Gillian is thinking about choosing friendship or relationship and the struggle she is facing. I mean, does the director expect us to know that Gillian knew what was going on and just appeared to take Charlene away from the pain? Right, of course because they had to focus on Charlene's character's pain. Does Gillian's character knew what the guy had done, about the ice cream scene? It doesn't seemed like she was aware of anything or was even there for half of the second half MV. Gillian's character appeared so happy and not the less painful

Anyways, if they were going to film Charlene crying, how come they didn't film the tears coming out? Isn't that the whole point of a crying scene....I think Charlene was the one who cried because the storyline was more developed on her part, showing the pains she went through, while Gillian's character...totally went downhill. Like I mentioned, the less bit unhappy or pained. It's like they forgot that Gillian was there. The guy didn't have any scenes with her and if you didn't watch the first part of the MV, you won't even know there was a love triangle but Gillian would just be like a friend, like in "Starlight Wonderland" and comforting Charlene....You know what's funny, whether Gillian had played both characters, friend and a girlfriend, but whenever she is THE character, the character is never as emphasized as when Charlene plays it.

One word, confused. This MV is disappointing, well the second half is. It totally took a 180 degrees turn that makes the MV completely confusing. Who does the guy like?! Or does he even like either of them? I think everyone is better off just watching the first half, at least the guy's feelings are sure.

I knew it from the beginning that this MV would gear towards Charlene, and so did a lot of people. Gillian didn't have any painful scenes, all Charlene. The thing I don't understand is how could the song focus on Gillian's character, but than the MV focus on Charlene's character. Well, I don't think I'll watch this MV over, but the song is still excellent, go JJ Lin!

When I saw the first part, I was like, maybe this would be the first thing that change about the bias treatment. Starting from here, things would start getting fair but what do I know. A few scenes of the guy with Twins really doesn't tell us anything especially when he was wiping Gillian's face and taking her hand then later, eats Charlene's ice cream The only message that is well recieved is that Friendship is more important than Relationship other than that, it's just not well developed. They could have made the MV longer to develop on the characters and plotline more since a lot MVs does that.

I think the scriptwriter actually had the whole story planned out and showed to EEG. EEG didn't like the idea that Gillian's character was leading and didn't have the friendship message so they told the writer to change it. The writer was reluctant so he only roughly change the ending which resulted the downhill of the second half of the MV. Nice imagination..... but seriously, how could the first part of the storyline be decent and developed while the second part just have so much hoop holes and underdevelopements.

I also think that they probably weren't bf/gf seeing how they just met and didn't offically 'break up', because after Twins left, he just got back on his bike and left sadly, and that didn't even tell us who he liked either. And yeah, if they wanted to add a storyline to this mv, they should have made it longer by adding in more dialogue into the mv, telling the audience what's going on and stuff, because from the way they did, we understand the first part, but right when we get to the second part, we're all like 'what???'

Also, wasn't there suppose to be a part where Charlene was holding an umbrella? I thought I saw it in that passport. And when someone thought of a scene where Gillian and the guy were in the phonebooth running out of the rain and having Charlene see, I thought that could have happened seeing how Charlene had an umbrella. I guess that the editors deleted it out.

Gosh this mv really dissapointed me. The first thing that I did when I got onto the computer was look up the mv on youtube, hoping for something good, but now all I'm left with is dissapointment.

Did the one in youtube show you a little introduction "speech" by Twins? In the introduction speech, Charlene was holding an umbrella and smiling just like in the passport. I think it's the picture they took, from that scene. I wonder if the introduction is their character or really talking about them. Gillian does like black and I think Autumn too. About the horscope, I'm not sure what Gillian said since these things I always get confused

It'd be so cool if Kenny and Gillian could perform their duet together finally, but I still highly doubt it'd happen. My guess about Wednesday's JSG is that the only guests will be the EEG stars since there's ten of them; while they're there, Joey will definitely sing a song alone since she's the top singer of EEG, Twins will sing a song to promote their album, Kenny will sing his new song because it was on the JSG challenging songs list, Vincy will likely sing a song as well because they're promoting her right now, and the others will probably just be there for the Budweiser theme song.

All these albums are just cramming their release dates together! Sheesh! Kenny's third album will have to be on my 'Buy Later' list as well since it's coming out in June - July, and during that time, I'm needing my money to buy Twins' cantonese and mandarin album and Kary's second album. My plans may be different if Kenny's next album actually had some kind of surprise on it, like if there is another duet of KG's on there or the deleted scenes of 'Conscience Discovery'.


I actually didn't sense the uneven screentime that much, technically anyway; that feeling of Charlene having more screentime most likely came around because her character and scenes were more developed with all the crying and screaming that is emphasized, but technically the second half of the MV mostly had Twins singing side by side, Gillian's close up shots at her eyes, and Charlene's scenes of depression as the singing scenes. I also noticed that Gillian did her speaking part first in the beginning. Gillian wasn't done with her narration in the end, was she? It didn't really make sense to me, and it sounded like it was cut off.

Where's the part where they tell us about Gillian's struggle between friendship and love? I agree of how they should've showed that Gillian saw the ice cream scene if they want to create the feeling of a triangle relationship there. Charlene's crying scene was a little....... Perhaps it's because as you've said, they should've taken a shot where tears came out, or one of those heartbreaking scenes of where a single tear drips down slowly, but they took the shot where she was just starting to cry, of when one just starts breathing hard and choking a bit when just starting to cry.

Hm.... but then as I think of it, could this MV be a big misunderstanding in the plot as it's so confusing when we watch it? As you've said, Gillian's character seems so happy, painless, and clueless to some extent while Charlene's character makes a big breakdown of all these depressions towards her best friend about a guy who seems to playing them both. I was stunned when I saw that ice cream scene! I swear my mouth just dropped to the floor, and then I was like, "Is he TWO-TIMING them?" Why would the first half of the MV develop on the little cute cotton candy fluff sweet scenes between him and Gillian and then just have him bite off part of Charlene's ice cream cone and come an inch from kissing her in the second half? They totally screwed up the guy's character there. He didn't take it all that hard when they both ran away either. Anyway, back to my thought of how this MV could be a misunderstanding. Gillian and the guy were never officially in a relationship, but Charlene takes it really hard when they act close, so could Charlene's character actually be delusional? The guy could just be extremely friendly to each one of them, which explains him being so close with Gillian in the first half and Charlene in the second half. Then Charlene just goes back thinking, 'Why does he act so nice to Gillian when he supposed to be in love with me?', so she finally couldn't take it anymore, so she broke down infront of Gillian and the guy and ran up to Gillian. Gillian stares back at her with her confused look and thinks, 'Oh no! Charlene's delusional symptoms must be back!', so she grabs her hand, and they run off! Then Charlene just forgets about the guy and 'forgives' Gillian, and that could be said for Gillian's mild, big sister smile in the end. It's totally part of my wild imagination, but somehow it kinda makes sense except for the speaking part in the end. Seriously, the guy either is playing both, loving both, or just extremely friendly to both. We don't see him loving one more than the other, and certainly not what the song intended to illustrate. I think this is another one of those times that MVs don't correspond with the songs, or the MV's simply really wacked up.

I know, just reading everyone's descriptions, I was already disappointed as can be. All that anticipation and it all resorts to this type of disappointment. Well, this is my analysis.

The guy obviously loves Gillian, he's not afraid of showing his affection towards Gillian both in front and behind Sa, the wiping crumbs part and the reaching out to grasp Gillian's hand. As for Sa, he's a flirtatious guy. He only portrays certain sweet scenes towards Sa when Gillian isn't present, the ice cream part. Both Twins love the same guy but Gillian seems to have more self-descipline lol especially the part when Sa screams and runs towards Gillian, not the guy but Gillian?! Seems like Sa was about to slap Gillian for messing with her man. And sweet Gillian was quite surprised, saddened, and frightened. At that moment, the guy seemed to have chosen Gillian, which explains why he and Gillian were facing each other while Sa was the outsider. Gillian was the innocent one. She didn't know that the guy she loved was two-timing a set of friends, her best friend at that moment seemed like she was going to choose the guy instead of her, I mean, Sa practically ran up against Gillian like some sort of angry girlfriend. Gillian was the one who made the ultimate decision in choosing friendship as she pulls Sa and leaves the tension behind them with the guy. I guess, both Twins were pretty and unique in their own ways, so throughout the music video, he was just exploring the both of them to see which one he really loved and wanted in the end, he chose Gillian, Sa was quite upset because 1. The guy lied to her. 2. Sa knows that the guy isn't faithful. 3. The guy is a complete jerk. Gillian has always chosen friendship over love so leaving him behind wasn't such a painful thing whereas Sa, she seemed to really had fallen head over heels for him, enough to really not contemplate about the consequences at all. The scream and run towards Gillian still puzzles me. It was the guy who betrayed both Twins, not Gillian. I thought the sweet scenes between Twins and the guy were distributed accordingly to their characters. Gillian is the more conservative one, the one he respects and loves more; therefore, his level of affection was quite proper, just gently wiping away the crumbs and holding hands. Sa was much more of a fling, someone he can mess with but not take seriously, so he portrayed more of an intimate scene with Sa. Hm, if Gillian didn't pull Sa away, I wonder what would have happened? It seemed like Sa was ready to fight for what was hers, the guy and Gillian on the other hand was left bewildered. I guess, in this music video, it's just trying to say that friendship is what lasts. If Sa or Gillian had stuck with the guy, the relationship wouldn't have lasted anyways due to his unfaithful behavior. Sa obviously realized how precious Gillian's friendship was to her and how awful she was lost in that short-lived bliss of false love so that's why Sa was the one who hugged Gillian at the end and Gillian like always accepted her apology and made up.

Gillian's character isn't that underdeveloped but the method of how they finalized the finished product was a bit confusing, that's all. The part where Gillian had to choose between love and friendship was the part when both the guy and Sa were in front of her. The guy had confessed his emotions for her, ready to launch a serious relationship while Sa felt cheated and screamed towards Gillian. At that moment, Gillian could have chosen the guy and rode off on his bike with him or choose Sa, which was the conclusion. Observe how the camera zooms in on Gillian, the guy and Sa side by side in front of Gillian, and then back to Gillian as she expresses a sad look but confidence as she grabs Sa's hand running off.

The things I absolutely love about this music video even though it was quite disappointing were of course the Gillian scenes. Gosh, Gillian displayed such a pure and understanding friend all throughout the music video. She never once blamed Sa nor the guy for at some point being unfaithful and inconsiderate towards her feelings. I loved the scene when the camera zooms in on Gillian's shocked expression after Sa's threatening reaction. I felt like crying. That part of Gillian's sorrow and shock mixed together was even sadder and ore hearjerking than Sa's crying scene. Gillian portrayed her character so well, to the point, and wonderfully flawless. As for Sa's crying scene, I agree. They should have waited for tears to drop and then capture it into the music video because it wasn't that convincing.

Anyways. This was my analysis.

Yea, Gillian did appear singing With Charlene but (lame as I am) I notice the three extra scenes of Charlene's. Two by herself and one with the guy. The singing scenes are pretty much equal so they cancel each other out Well, this time it's not really the screentime that bothers me. The second half of the MV's plotline bothers me a lot. It's contrasting the first part and makes it so confusing.

I don't get why they would put that shot of Charlene's crying if they have the option to put one where she had tears coming out. That's just weird and somewhat a bad choice.



Charlene delusional? Lolx...Never thought of that but after you explained it, it kind of make scenes in a way. The speech is nice. I liked the first part though. It's sweet when Gillian said she liked to be with Charlene. I guess that little introduction by Gillian was to hint how much Gillian treasures friendship, but Charlene's speech..not sure what the message was.

It's makes it really hard to believe that the guy is just friendly. If he was just friendly, he shouldn't and wouldn't have acted so intimate with both girls. He should know his boundaries. He would be friendly if he only had wipe that jelly off Gillian's face. That's a friendly gesture. *sighs* I should get over the MV It's been done and I've been disappointed a lot of times by EEG's production. Shouldn't have expected so much But one thing that didn't disappoint me is Gillian's expressions. Done so well! Both Twins and the guy did a pretty good job on their part.

Hmm...I like you analysis better than what the MV gave me. The organization of the MV is overall a little rushed and doesn't seem like a final product. I'll stick to your analysis as it makes feel a little better about the MV


I just made another .gif with the guy and Gillian (kinda). I really like the pair after watching the first half of the MV. I took the scenes from "Starling Wonderland" MV. I couldn't get any scenes with just Gillian and the guy because there was none and the quality of the file on youtube was not that good....I still have a few scenes to add but too lazy for now.

Yeah Charlene didn't have any tears, or at least they should of waited or let Gillian take that part inside. Her lips looked funky when she cried.

True the MV is done! I watched it 3 times already and want to watch it some more. But then what was film and it was filmed. It's not like we could change some parts. Yup I really loved Gillian expression throughout the whole MV. That's something that made me happy

one last comment before i'm gone for the night. lol. so what does the guy really want? i wish they would have an interview like they did with starlight amusement park. x] if they do, they can have the guy explain to us what his character's true feelings are.. so we wouldn't have to have such a bad image of him. but whatever his image is, he's still too darn cute!

Well, as positive as I tried to be when watching the music video, I couldn't help but notice that yes, Sa again had the advantage of more onscreen time than Gillian and Gillian's character was supposed to be the lead since the song revolved around her situation, not Sa's. But we can't expect much from EEG in the first place. I thought it was a bit unfair, whenever Sa sang her solo verse or chorus, the camera only concentrated on solo Sa scenes but when Gillian sang her solo verses/chorus, the camera returned back to the story of the love triangle and not so much of solo Gillian scenes.

After re-watching it again, another possible scenario does arise. The guy loves Gillian, I think that's obvious and Gillian on the same page also loves him too. He's not a jerk afterall. During the snack scene, notice that even though Sa poured him milk, he only paid attention to Gillian thus gently wiping the piece of jelly or crumb off her face. He loved Gillian enough to initiate the relationship first by grabbing her hand. Since the guy loves Gillian so much and Sa is Gillian's best friend, he treated Sa comfortably like a best friend too so what he believed to be a friendly act of sharing an ice cream cone with Sa was misunderstood by Sa who couldn't restrain her feelings for him. He honestly only perceived Sa as a friend, not anything less nor more. But everytime he got closer, the more Sa's feelings for him developed. Observe how unhappy and envious Sa is towards Gillian at the jump rope scene, the guy and Gillian are enjoying themselves as he only faces towards Gillian and they both go off into their la la land while Sa remains as the outsider of the relationship, an unfulfilled love. This music video does illustrate reality, that love can break up two really good friends. Sa was growing to hate Gillian for something Gillian wasn't responsible for, love but on the same token, Sa couldn't fully hate Gillian either because Gillian was her best friend. Gillian loved the guy deeply as he also loved her as well but when she witnessed how much pain Sa was confined in watching their love for each other bloom (the scream), Gillian couldn't persist with the relationship any longer and took Sa's hand and left. Gillian at the end sacrificed more than anyone else. Sa wasn't the only one who hurted, Gillian lost a piece of heart to him and Sa. The guy was saddened with Gillian's decision in the end because he didn't do anything wrong but fell in love with the one his heart cried out to, Gillian. The sweet ice cream scene between the guy and Sa could be seen through Sa's viewpoint so it came out intimate like that but the reality of it could have been different if told through the guy's perception.

So to sum it up, it was a love triangle. The director who produced this music video could have done a better job at arranging certain scenes so the overall storyline wasn't as confusing as it was. One other thing I was a bit disappointed was, Gillian was just as hurt, plunged in pain and misery as Sa, Gillian should have portrayed her own tears and sad scenes too.

Yeah, I tend to really analyze lol. One thing that also bothered me was, the screen. The screen kept cutting Gillian towards the left side while captured Sa entirely with some room left too during the scenes when Twins both sang together. Couldn't the screen move to the right a bit more or if there wasn't enough room, the camera could have scooted back to make sure that both Twins fitted the screen perfectly.

Anyways. I love Gillian's shocked reaction. Gosh, so lovely. Oh, but Sa's scream disturbed me a bit though. Why scream? That makes Sa a bit evil. If Sa had tears, those tears would have been enough to let the audience know that Sa was in pain, no need for a scream especially directed towards Gillian too! When Sa screamed, I was like, "Oh, the usual Sa." Hm, I'm still a bit speechless how Gillian left the blooming love but if it had been Sa, would she had done the same thing? It seemed for a moment there that Sa wasn't willing to give up the guy.

I think this second scenario makes more sense, now that I think it over again. I believe he loves Gillian and only Gillian but got caught in a love triangle with two best friends. So don't worry guys, the cute guy was a one-hearted male to Gillian, not a jerk lol.

Gillian's speech in the beginning was touching. As for Sa's, hm...

But after seeing all these posts about how some are such a disappointment is making me feel a little uneasy...I hope I won't be disappointed too....
