Hey Little_Purple_Bell, I saw you posted this up at the gallery of Gillian's. I was wondering what this was for?

It's for a poll held by AppleDaily News about 'Who would you want to watch the 2006 FIFA Tournament with?'. The female celebrities were splited into categories, and online fans just vote for who they like from each group. AppleDaily tries to arrange for twenty fans get selected to watch the FIFA games with the top five female celebrities. The results came out today: 1st: Gigi Lai (332), 2nd: Michelle Ye (241), 3rd: Gillian Chung (225), 4th: Joey Yung (133), and 5th: Stephy Tang (116). Charlene ranked at 6th place, and lost by one vote since Stephy had 116 while she had 115. Anyway, I don't think Gillian will have time to watch the games though since she's so busy promoting the mandarin album lately, and 'Let's Steal Together' will be starting its filming soon.

I read the news that Little_Purple_Bell translated and I'm happy/sad. Happy that Andy Lau requested to a film with Gillian and with inimate scenes. Not happy because EEG won't allow her until 30!! What is up with that!!??? It's getting me all mad again!

Hey Little_Purple_Bell, just read your news about Andy's invitation. If Andy is publically announcing it, perhaps plans are already under negotiation. I'm so excited for Gillian, seems like things have been quite smooth lately for Gillian, first the KG duet of Conscious Discovery and now, the film role. Let's just hope EEG doesn't reject the offer. I mean, Andy is personally making a request. And this film also involves Karena too. Any film Karena participates in is great! Hopefully, Gillian is one of the leads, not just a small cameo on the side but knowing Andy, he doesn't depend on small cameos like Wong Jing and Jackie Chan to support the film anyways. But I don't want Gillian to share her first onscreen kiss with Andy. No way! But Gillian was funny though describing the kissing scenes if any lol. Aw, even if Gillian's management accepts this role, the film probably won't even be out until next year. Gillian really has no films this year except for Let's Steal Together.

Can't wait until the KG duet is televised live but that is true, some original portions of the show might get sliced off from the program but let's all hope that the KG duet won't because it does involve Gillian.

I just read the news. It's ridiculous that Gillian had to save her kiss so long and for what? She can't ruin Twins' image (like EEG had reasoned) because obviously if it did, Charlene would have already ruin that image since she had multiple kiss scenes. Basically any reason they had given, Charlene had already pass that stage and cancel out their "reasons".

I thought Andy was not going to keep to his words! So glad he did but the only thing is EEG now...I don't want Gillian to miss such a good chance. Hmm...first on-screen kiss to Andy? I would have rather Gillian already gave hers out to someone like...Edison ( ) already than to Andy but it wouldn't be that bad. I just hope a miracle will happen and EEG let Gillian be part of the movie!

I thought Andy wasn't going to keep his promise either but I guess, seeing how successful Gillian is without the All Star casts in her box office films and the heavy promotions plus just her 3rd leading role in BOK was enough to gain Gillian a priceless nomination, a light bulb suddenly switched on in Andy's head lol. Andy has power in HK. Once he requests someone or something, most likely things will fall accordingly in his favor. Hopefully, Andy is persistent enough for Gillian though. The 30 year old thing is WAY too long, Gillian herself is 25 already and she's going to turn 26 in half a year, she's probably already considered one of the older popular actress in the industry that hasn't given her first onscreen kiss out after been in the industry for so long. I really don't get what's wrong with a kiss. The kiss doesn't even have to be the intimate ones like what Charlene has done before. A simple peck on the lips will work too! And I HIGHLY doubt that would 'ruin' her image. And seeing how Charlene has given a kiss onscreen SO MANY times, it hasn't ruined her image, so why would it ruin Gillian's? Especially seeing how Gillian's older and has been called the 'maturer' Twin.

And even though Andy's old and it's nasty to see Gillian filming any intimate scenes with him. At least if EEG listens to Andy and gives Gillian a good role and being able to kiss Andy, at least she'll finally be able to break through EEG's stupid barrier in not letting her kiss. It'll also give her more recognition seeing how she's collaborating with Andy and maybe from then on, EEG will be giving Gillian more roles where she can kiss someone when they do give her some roles in movies. Also, Gillian will be able to work with her idol, Andy, so I'm sure that Gillian will be doing her best and that she'll be REALLY happy in working with him. So basically to me, I find that it'll be good if Gillian were to be in a movie with Andy. The only flaw that I can think of right now is that she'll be kissing a guy around 20 years older than her, but if this can help her gain more recognition and break free of EEG's stupid rule, then hey! it'll be better if she takes it. And she said that she doesn't mind the kissing scenes either and I'm sure that she herself would like to 'kiss' someone other than Charlene. During Twins first night of their 2006 concert, after their concert was over, I think the show Scoop or something like that interviewed Twins, and when the reporter asked Gillian how she felt about Nicholas kissing Charlene, Gillian said "Mm dai duk", kind of like saying that it's unfair, that why did Charlene get to have something like that and she doesn't. She didn't say it in like a mad way or anything, but in a joking way. But I still think that she meant it especially seeing how she has stated so many times that EEG doesn't let her kiss anyone and that she would like to be able to kiss someone onscreen.

Yeah, I think things are starting to get better for Gillian as well. Perhaps Gillian's part of preparing for the split of Twins is processing slowly, but it is processing. I was overjoyed when I read that Gillian and Kenny performed 'Conscience Discovery' together, and we now have news saying that Gillian may have the chance of working with good actors like Andy and Karena! Do you think this is going to be in the 'All About Love' format? Andy = Andy, Karena = Charlie, Charlene = Gillian? If that's the case, then maybe Gillian won't get such a big part, but she will get exposure. I'd really want her to have a big part though because it simply seems like the bigger the role, the more development Gillian can do to her character, and the better her performance. It's like how 'Beyond Our Ken' completely revolved around her, and her acting was superb. Even though it's kinda gross to think of Gillian kissing Andy, it's not completely a bad thing. At least Andy is someone who Gillian respects and sees as an idol, so even though Andy wouldn't be our first choice of having Gillian kiss, he's not that bad. I think he could help Gillian be more comfortable since he has so much experience. If this film will really take place, then I'd say we can wait for just a bit longer.

Maybe Andy's eager to get Gillian out kissing people on-screen too. Andy's definitely one of those who have gained power and respect in HK, and I believe he should have a certain impact on things as well. I do hope he's persistent enough for Gillian's sake; if he's able to pull those restrictions off on Gillian for his film, then EEG won't have any excuse to restrict Gillian any further, at least if things do fall into place. Andy is partially a businessman with his film producing company, so he probably has a good idea of who has potential and popularity to star in his films. I hope Andy does make this offer to Gillian; it does mean a lot to her in her situation. Starring in a film with Andy could bring Gillian lots of exposure; even though Gillian's previous leading role films gained her recognition, they didn't provide enough exposure. Hopefully, there'll be more news on this. Seriously, it was pretty out of the blues when Andy spoke out the names of Karena and Gillian during the time of him receiving an award of 'Best Man To Marry' when he was asked who he would like to get close to next since he's co-starred with so many female artistes already. He said he was sure that many would want to be hugging Karena, and he personally has never hugged Gillian before.

The thirty year old thing is plain stupid. The whole restrictions thing is stupid. How does kissing on-screen wreck an image? Kissing is just the basics of HK films nowadays. Little pecks sometimes are so sweet, and they bring more depth to the love in a relationship on-screen. If Gillian's considered to be the more mature Twin, then should it also be that she should be able to handle more things then? But I guess things don't work that way with EEG theory.

Yes, I completely agree with you. Everything of this is actually great. It just feels wrong when you think of the siding facts like how Anthony Wong portrayed Gillian's dad in HOF, and Andy's the same age as him. Gillian herself is eager to break her restrictions, and since she can't do it by herself, she must be more than delighted to hear that Andy wants to collaborate with her. Yes, I also saw an interview that was made during the first night of the 2006 concert. When Gillian was asked about what she thought of Nic's kiss to Charlene, she said, "I never get to be a part of it." She sounded like she was half joking but half serious. It feels like Gillian's really trying to speak out about her restrictions in a sneaky way by giving responses like, 'My company won't let me, but I'd want to.' I hope there will actually be an offer made to Gillian officially; that means even if she only has that film next year, it will still be guaranteed of being high quality. Of course it'd be better if she has more, but if she was going to star in a bunch of Wong Jing films for a year, I'd rather her to just do one Andy film.


Gillian has referred to Andy as her idol before as well. She's not restricted to have one idol only. I think comparing Aaron and Andy, Andy would be a better choice to work with because his acting is really good; Aaron's been known for his dancing more.

I'm not sure, but it really seems like EEG is trying their best to stop Gillian from progressing in the acting industry. When it was first rumoured that Isabella will be starring in a Lesbian movie with Rainie Yang, Mani said "公司都好支持Isabella，其實佢係專業演員，唔應該有咁多限制，總之除o左露三點，我o地都冇乜其他底線" (The company is very supportive of Isabella. Actually, she's a professional actress and so she shouldn't have so many limitations. As long as she doesn't have to be completely naked, we don't really have any other restrictions). I know that Gillian and Isabella have a different image, but they are both professional actresses so why is Mani limiting Gillian? If EEG really don't want Gillian to have any achievements in the movie industry, then I just hope that they don't continue to give her anymore stupid roles and allow her more time to concentrate on her music.


Also, after watching the Taiwan variety show, did anyone else get the feeling that Charlene is currently dating someone? When they were asked, Gillian answered "No" and Charlene wouldn't give an answer to the question and Charlene has never denied nor has she admitted any thing towards the RC rumours(apart from going to America during the new year).....so.....

I can't wait until the collaboration between Andy, Gillian, and Karena. Since Sa is already planned to share the same screen with Hsu Qi, Karena is just perfect for Gillian's collaboration. Both Hsu Qi and Karena are great actresses that will introduce both Twins into a new level of acting. Even though the intimate scene might chase me away for 30 seconds but I have no doubt this film will be a fantastic hit.

About the kiss, Gillian feels so suffocated. I hope that Andy will be able to pull Gillian out of this restriction. A small peck on the lips or cheeks does less harm than being pregnant onscreen YET both Twins have portrayed that phase of life before so EEG is really stretching everyone's patience. How long does EEG think they can stall Gillian's acting career from fully blooming? Despite all of the restrictions, Gillian has still managed to rise to the top so EEG mind as well just give her their full support.

Well, I guess it wasn't so much of the age gap between Andy and Twins but because Sa's character in All About Love was still the bubbly and cute type, the entire love story was weird and uncomfortable. Gillian is known to portray quite serious and mature roles so perhaps this collaboration might not turn out as horrible as we all think. If Gillian portrayed a silent and mysterious character in this film, hopefully people won't criticize Gillian as always portraying the same quiet, nice, sweet role because they have to understand that a cute bubbly role already failed next to Andy's charisma. And not all silent characters are the same.

Another thing about Andy is, he likes to collaborate with people he believes will contribute a great amount of potential. He has chosen wisely. Both Karena and Gillian are wonderful actresses but Karena has taken on much bolder roles because she has no restrictions to push her back while Gillian hasn’t completely unleashed her acting talents yet. Just by watching Gillian in BOK, everyone senses a lot of untapped potential in Gillian. Once Gillian breaks the ice once with the official onscreen kiss, I’m pretty sure the demand for Gillian will overflow. Once Andy collaborates with a certain actor/actress and connects on a professional level, most likely, that artist will continuously be featured into Andy films like Sammi. Hopefully, Gillian’s talent strikes Andy the same way.

Perhaps this Andy collaboration won't be a mirror of All About Love because that would be a bit too repetitive. Hm, I thought Sa and Charlie had approximately the same amount of onscreen time. People may think that Sa was a smaller role because her character died and the only scenes we saw her character develop in the storyline were the flashbacks but nonetheless, Sa was up to par to Charlie as far as their characters went. For Gillian and Karena, since they've both been quite successful portraying the bizarre and suspense genre, that would be something interesting to watch Andy, Karena, and Gillian in a chilling romance story, a psychological twister, or perhaps a really hilarious unseen before comedy.

At the moment, I'm just happy that Andy has extended his invitation to Gillian. And for those rude people out there entering this thread, please understand that Gillian ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT NEED Mr. Andy Lau to help boost her acting career because Gillian is already as successful without ANYONE'S help but it would be something new and refreshing to watch because Andy, Gillian, and Karena are all great actors that have never been united under one screen.

I'm not too keen about Gillian's kiss anymore. If Gillian feels comfortable enough to share her first onscreen kiss with Andy, then go for it, I support her 100%. I'm just relieved that she actually got to kiss before the scheduled 30 years of age restriction from EEG if EEG decideds to accept this role and intimate scenes on behalf of Gillian. I agree. Gillian needs a decent role, she performs better through a more important and saturated character like Ching, BOK. That's true, Andy is very well experienced, he can help Gillian improve on some of her weaknesses.

Aw, I'm beginning to like Andy lol for his sweet request for Gillian's participation. Not that I disliked him before but I just didn't think it was right for him to blurt out some unnecessary things in the past, that makes him appear too arrogant and biased towards some actresses he has never worked with before but have already jumped into conclusions about their talents. Well, Gillian hasn't been casted in the most promising films lately. BOK was already in 2004 and 49 Days was already early this year into last year, there's too much competition and criticisms in the HK industry, people forget easily, Gillian needs to continuously surprise the audience a few more memorable times before she can slow down to releasing one film per year because she's not slightly there yet on the A List of actors. Karena and Cecilia are widely accepted as A List actresses, they can release one film once a year or even once every two years YET people will still pay to watch their films because they have already established a solid name in the industry, they won't be forgotten. Gillian is almost there but seriously, EEG has to let go of the leash on Gillian and permit her to explore and challenge herself to the fullest or else Gillian will never be part of that A List BUT as if EEG wishes for her to be on that list in the first place anyways.

Okay. That is where Sa bugs me a bit but I'm not going to dwell into it because don't want to upset others. But I do hope that Andy is persistent towards Gillian. Fighting for Gillian is a much more difficult battle than for Sa and we all know why. Hopefully, Andy does feel the urge to break some barriers for Gillian.
Kissing is nothing. Gillian's recognition in the acting industry is everything because it will impact one of their favorites.

Gillian does joke about things that bother her but when you look into her eyes, they seem quite sincere, like she's calling out for help. Hopefully, Gillian will finally get to be part of the kissing game after this collaboration with Andy.

Mani! Isabella is way younger than Gillian but already so bold in the acting industry, EEG is really promoting Isabella to be the next Cecilia. I don't doubt their support towards Isabella's acting potential because honestly, Isabella's acting abilities are pretty decent but EEG's extremely biased decisions just stomp all over Gillian. Not only does EEG make all the rest look better, instead of leaving Gillian alone on middle grounds, EEG makes Gillian look worse. Aiya. Words cannot express my anger and agitation towards EEG's restrictions from Planet Pluto.

Hm, that is what I noticed earlier too. Sa never seems to directly deny anything about Ronald like she has with other previous rumors about other co-stars like Shawn and Nic. It does make me wonder as well. The saying No comment usually has a deeper meaning than that. Anyways, whatever Sa decides to do or whoever to date, hope all goes well.
Mani and her personal issues. I don't know why Mani despises Gillian so much. I was watching this one clip during the filming of Twins Effect II, the cast and crew were celebrating Gillian's birthday, Mani jokingly hit or yelled at Gillian, I can't remember well but that came out so harsh and serious. Anyways, Mani needs major help or more educational classes to teach her how to manage businesses unbiasedly and professionally.

I sister read it and she said "Main might be a lesbain and wants Gillian all to herself" lol. But I doubt that. Anyways I remember Gillian celebrating her birthday during Twins Effect 1. Instead of Twins Effect 2. I remember her trying to push her head to the cake but remember nothing about Mani saying something harsh to Gillian. But maybe Mani is more protective towards Gillian because maybe she treats more like a daughter since they said how Charlene dad works in the company so she don't have to watch over her much, but since Gill mom don't even go anywhere with her maybe that's why. I think the reason they limit GIllian is because they want to keep gillian's image innocent... but actualli i think that ar gill has the potential to be a great actress and isabella... i guess she just wants to focus in the acting part of her career while twins is multi tasking...hope that they wont limit gill so much!! i want to see her act in different roles!!

Like what most of you guys have said, it gets me mad that Mani and EEG has put

so many restrictions of ah gill while they let others like isabella and ah sa do almost

whatever the movie director wants them to do for a movie. Gillian is half a year away

from turing 26, and she has to wait until she's 30 to have a kissing scene?! that's

just ridiculous and i think that EEG knows it too. They should let Gillian decide on

are we talking about karena lam or carina lau? lol. i'm confused. cause as far as i'm concerned, karena isn't that great of an actress ... (in my opinion, so please don't attack me! lol.)

omg! eeg loves gillian too much! they're protecting gillian from her purity. yea i can totally understand their reason behind her limitations. gosh, i'm so pissed! what? 30 years old? dude by that time she's like almost married (if she sticks to her words about marrying at age 30-32). it's great that andy lau is requesting to work with gillian, but it's kinda weird that he mentioned about having intimate scenes. lol. i'm sure gillian would have been just as happy if he just mentioned the collaboration. bleh, i'm kinda iffy about gillian giving off her first onscreen kiss to andy as well. maybe there'll be a change in the production. instead of falling in love with andy, maybe gillian would fall in love with his son, umm say edison? lol. err, i'm mad i even thought of that, knowing that it won't happen. lol.

the birthday clip is so funny! gillian is so playful. it seems to me that gillian is the type of girl who would only go crazy and wild during the right occasions. lol. she might not be bubbly all the time, but only when she feels like it. x] (still, that's the craziest i've seen gillian act before! lol.)

I know; if they sang the duet more during the time it was plugged, surely it would've gotten better results. At least we know that they would've gotten 1st place on the TVB chart if KG were actually allowed to accept the invitation from TVB.

It seems like they only have one outfit each for the promotion of this album. This mini concert is actually a show that's aired featuring different artistes, so hopefully they leave everything alone. If they have to cut anything out, they better bet that it's not the duet.

From Mani's statement of that, she's pretty contradictory to her words. Or is she trying to imply that Gillian's not a professional actress nor have the company's support? Even different images shouldn't bring that much of an impact on what's done on-screen. It doesn't mean that artistes with a healthy image can't get intimate on-screen, does it? Twins have a healthy image while Charlene's out there doing kissing scenes and bed scenes in films, and it doesn't effect herself nor Twins as a whole. Actors and actresses with healthy images still want to strive for more in their career of acting, so they aren't limited to what they can try on-screen. Look at Miriam, her funny and comedic image, but look at what she attempted in 'Dumplings'. I agree that if EEG simply doesn't want Gillian to have any further achievements in acting, they should simply not ruin her reputation of acting with all those crappy roles and let her concentrate on music. EEG didn't even bother to write down that Gillian received a nomination for the Gam Zhi Ging awards for Best Actress while they made a nomination section for Isabella. It seems like while not wanting Gillian to achieve in the acting industry, they also want her to look bad in it as well.


I'd say that Alex isn't a player. When you just see him during interviews and just the little actions he does, you can tell he's a very caring person. If you watch the Super Trio show, then you would see Alex having a natural reaction to be covering the water from all four of Cookies with his hands each time the cold water was spraying down. He only had rumours with three Cookies; he never had any with Kary, but then I wouldn't be surprised if some surfaced because of them starring in a film together. Anyway, Alex are in the same company with Cookies, so it's not too outstanding that there are rumours among people in the same company because usually it's the company itself that sends out the information on it for the media to chase after it. So, it wouldn't be a bad thing if those Alex+Gillian rumours were actually true. Alex+Gillian got so many supportive responses in HK in general, fans and celebrities. Well, besides Alex+Stephy fans that is. Uh, I wouldn't say that Nicholas is exactly the best choice for a boyfriend to Gillian; he's definitely a good friend of hers and really friendly to her, but you know, Nic's actions are a little....... unexplainable. Kenny seems like a good boyfriend for Gillian because we can really see how sweet he is towards her.


I'm sure Karena and Andy will be able to bring a lot into Gillian's knowledge of acting; I really hope she will have the chance to share the same screen with them.

EEG is seriously trying way too hard of stalling Gillian, with all these restrictions and all. I highly doubt anyone would go, 'Oh no! Gillian made a kiss on-screen, so I'm not going to support her anymore!" Pregnant probably isn't any kind of issue to EEG because Twins filmed a short clip with the setting of each of them being pregnant with twins as a promotional clip which was shown during their first concert back in 2002. Even if EEG doesn't give Gillian full support, they should at least stop stalling her and setting all these barriers between her and the directors who request for her. I'm sure that would already change a lot of Gillian's acting career. Gillian has already managed to slip through a few times already performing great hits with all the barriers, and without them, she could be blooming.

It was quite awkward to see Charlene's character still so cute when she's married to someone like Andy. At first I thought Charlene had a mature role in the film because of the setting, but I was wrong. Perhaps it won't be as awkward between Gillian and Andy since Gillian's characters are usually more mature and silent, unless Andy decides that Gillian should do a bubbly role as well. I'd rather Gillian's role be something like knowing when to be serious and when to joke. It could make contrast of Gillian's versatility to the audience, or a mysterious character sounds pretty good as well.

Hopefully Gillian will prove her potential out to Andy, so he could offer her some help down the road. He's already doing a lot for her by announcing that he hopes to participate in some intimate scenes with her; if it does officially happen, Gillian would be let off the hook of her many unreasonable restrictions.


Really? I always thought Charlie had more screentime. I do only remember seeing Charlene for the beginning of the film, and flashbacks here and there; I didn't realize that she had the same screentime as Charlie. It may be because I thought Charlie gave a more outstanding performance then because I seriously thought I saw Charlie on the screen more; Charlie's role was different from what's she's done before. In that role, she didn't have to always care so much about her appearance on-screen; she was able to cry freely, regardless of how she look, and it turned out to be natural.

I can just see Andy, Karena, and Gillian portraying a bizarre and mysterious storyline tipped in with some romance because it's obvious that both Karena and Gillian are capable of portraying a deleterious side on-screen. I hope this film will be officially put into production, and for the storyline to be refreshing along with the new combination.

Gillian has made some impossible things to be possible. She's had no help from her management company, yet still manages to come out on top. If she does get a chance to star with Andy, then it'll let those people who have no interest to see Twins films or those other rubbish films that Gillian stars in to see Gillian's potential. It will give her the exposure to a new crowd. Andy's films are bound to have many functions and promotions, and EEG obviously can't meddle with that. His films are even promoted outside of HK, like in Malaysia.

That's true; if Gillian herself is looking forward to sharing an on-screen kiss with Andy, then why shouldn't we as fans support her? We just have to hope that it does happen, and Gillian does receive this opportunity. If Gillian receives a role co-starring with Andy, it would definitely break off some barriers for her regarding her restrictions. She will also be able to learn from Andy and Karena; it's definitely more gain than loss. There's not much loss towards Gillian either. Gillian gives her best performances through characters that she can actually develop on. If the character given to her is just pointless, then she obviously can't do much with it. I don't blame her for any bad performances if they occurred within any Wong Jing films or any other of those useless roles that she was given.

I know what you mean; Andy just appeared to be a tad bit biased with Twins earlier, but I guess he changed his mind and decided that Gillian has potential as well, therefore his announcement of wanting to work with her. That's a thing with HK audience; if they don't see you popping up regularly on the screen, they would forget immediately, yet they complain that they see people too much sometimes. Well, with the circumstances that Gillian is under, we'd be pretty fortunate if we were able to see at least one high quality film of Gillian's per year. At least then, even if Gillian has some stupid cameo role, the high quality role could even it out or wipe it out in the audience's minds.

I'm sure we can find many pieces of history to support our saying of a difficult battle for Gillian. There are many producers/directors who did want Gillian in a leading role in their films who have given up or given in to EEG. Hopefully, Andy will be determined enough. If EEG does reject it, we can be sure that Andy will notify the media about it if he senses anything fishy about the rejection because Andy is in no way under any pressure of EEG's, and he's not afraid to speak out either. As you've said, Andy usually does get his ways.

I guess that's the only way she can voice her troubles out without getting in trouble herself since people in general will think she's just joking. Maybe if the ice breaks off for her this time, she'll be able to invite someone to come kiss on the cheek when she holds her own concert later on.

Exactly, I remember Isabella voicing out that she wants to act as a prostitute? I bet Gillian would more than likely get scolded if she said anything that bold. What is the problem here? I personally think Gillian would be really convincing if she was given a seductive role. Gillian could easily act as the ice maiden playing hard to get even without getting too revealing either, but I highly doubt Gillian would ever get a role close to that because it'd 'ruin' her image.


I don't doubt that Mani does care for Gillian in many aspects, but I wouldn't call placing so many restrictions on her and stalling her career to let someone else keep going being protective. I do get the feeling that Mani is much stricter with Gillian than anyone else among her 'children', but it just doesn't make much sense to say that it's because Mani treats Gillian more like a daughter because shouldn't she be giving her more support instead of less if that's the case? Unless Mani's a type of person who likes to use reverse psychology. According to Mani's book, she does have to look after Gillian more behind the set than Charlene because Gillian and her mom really didn't have much interaction before, but Mani stated that Gillian's relationship with her mom and sister has really gotten better over the years. Mani also says that Gillian is a person who is easily deceived by others, and she doesn't care at all about herself when filming actions films; Mani says she feels really bad herself when she goes with Gillian to the doctor because of her injuries, yet Gillian still displays a strong face. If Mani does feel that way, then she should see that Gillian is a professional actress and doesn't need all these limitations. It seems like towards Gillian, Mani does speak the good of her, yet she won't hesitate to say anything bad about her either.

With all the talk about Mani, I'll share some photos of her with Gillian. I still think that Mani will only display most of her affection to Gillian when Charlene isn't a factor in the situation. Other than that, Charlene will just always be first priority while Gillian gets the backseat as usual.

It's Karena Lam. Really? I think Karena is a great actress. She was quite convincing and fascinating to watch in thrillers such as Koma, Inner Senses, and Home Sweet Home just to name a few recent ones that might ring a bell. Karena has received so many Best Actress nominations. I really admire her work and I'm so excited that Karena and Gillian plus Andy might have an opportunity to collaborate. The cast itself is already splendid. And ironically, we were just discussing about Karena too when I was still deciding on which film I should bag in my Yesasia cart. Hm, perhaps Gillian can portray the younger version of Karena while Edison can portray the youthful version of Andy again. That would be neat stuff. That reminds me of the Korean film, The Classic.

Sorry. Between Nic and Edison, I would choose Gillian to be with Edison any day. Why? Edison may have a ruthless attitude and lack maturity in some areas but he's a type of person who I guarantee will protect, love, pamper and care for his girl, Gillian. I'm not saying that Nic is a horrible bachelor but there are numerous aspects of Nic's personality that turns me off. Perhaps it's just me but 1. Nic's initial scandal that caused his imprisonment during the '03 car accident wasn't the most courageous nor admirable thing on his behalf. 2. Nic not only stepped in 2 boats at the same time BUT 3, not very faithful nor committed is he? 3. I'm not sure if his parents' expenses caused that much debt or perhaps Nic was just being super frugal but he had to borrow clothes? 4. Nic is a traditional control freak. He wants his girlfriend to be covered from head to toe? Anyways, Nic would be a nice friend to collaborate musically and acting wise but to consider as a boyfriend? Nic has tantrums; I think Gillian should pass.

Kenny is a simple guy. He's not the wealthiest and can't offer Gillian a luxurious lifestyle like Edison but his actions towards Gillian are really sincere and sweet, something money can't fake nor buy. Kenny can be serious here and silly there, perfect for Gillian.

Another candidate I support is obviously Edison. Gillian has been working extremely hard without decent breaks nor rest ever since she received a working permit. It's about time someone else takes care of her and carries her burdens and concerns. Edison may have a temper but he has matured these past few years. Edison has his own businesses aside from acting, works just as hard in the acting industry worldwide, and has been bold enough to introduce something different and interesting in the HK music industry. Edison is original as can be. What you see is who Edison really is. He doesn't hide his true identity nor try to pull some fake stunts like the majority of stars do to impress the media or public. Edison may not find all of the sweet correct words to express his feelings like Kenny but I'm sure, Edison is just as sincere and selfless towards Gillian like Kenny.

Hm, when I heard Sa talk in that childish tone of voice, I sort of already predicted that Sa's role will again be as Sa but in a different setting and situation. True, Gillian should portray a bubbly and serious character. The film can begin all hilarious but end emotionally heartbreaking.

Well, both Sa and Charlie's role were equally balanced, even moreso than Twins themselves in the past Twins films. Actually, Sa's character lingered all throughout the entire film, not just the beginning. Everytime Andy saw something that reminded him of Sa, a flashback popped up equaling the amount of duration spent on Charlie's story. My tears were on the verge of dropping when Sa sat across from Andy while he was reading the letter/diary; if Sa had kept that seriousness for the last 2 minutes of the film, Sa's character would have made a deeper impact like Charlie's. I was actually gulping down forming tears throughout Charlie's story.

Karena and Gillian would make a great team like Gillian and Tao Hong. I can already sense chemistry.

Andy is one of the Four Heavenly Kings, Gillian's normal exposure will be multiplied. Andy is internationally respected as an actor.

Hopefully, collaborating with Gillian will make Andy realize his wrong judgment. HK is becoming a mess; I don't even know where to begin rambling about their hypocritical criticisms against stars they're not in favor of.

Andy better makes sure his words towards Gillian are kept. As big as EEG is, Andy is someone they can't directly deny with the same old lame excuses of saving Gillian's pure image. If EEG does reject this role, I would be left speechless because I can't believe they hate Gillian this much to reject one of her biggest offers.

Perhaps Mani's definition of Isabella's professionalism is to literally copy the foosteps of Cecilia. Cecilia had her big breakthrough as a prostitute-like girl in Stephen Chow's King of Comedy and One Night in Mongkok??

I am especially thrilled for Gillian and Kenny...They actually got to performed together. Oh my gosh, it's so exciting. I really want to see it now. I hope someone can upload it.

What? Now there's a chance Gillian can collaborate with Andy Lau? That's fantastic. He personally ask for it. Wow, thats awesome I hope EEG let her. This is the chance for Gillian although she doesn't need it because she can personally take down the whole world by herself but this---this is good. She deserve it and it's about time that someone like Andy who has such influence in Hong Kong to personally request Gillian to be part of his upcoming film. Gillian can manage on her own to take her to the very top and be recognize as a great actress in all of China if given the chance! Gillian's picture can be put up next to the China's History of Great Actresses....

Oh wow, track 4 is good. I like it....they both sing it really well but I could hear Gillian more than charlene. But still did a fantastic job on it... I'm surprise that most of the song charlene is the one to start off first--why is that? Why the change?

I think that at times when Mani is alone with Gillian, she can't help but fall in love with Gillian because Gillian is just too naive, sweet, and lovable, it would be really difficult for anyone to hate her especially those who interact with Gillian on a personal level, enough to know that Gillian is completely harmless and extremely considerate to the point of still being loyal to individuals who have only disappointed her with their greed to reach the top. BUT when Sa or others enter the picture, that reminds Mani that hey, Sa+ is my priority, not Gillian and that is when the switch occurs. You can't really hate someone who hasn't done anything wrong, that's Gillian. Anti-Gillian fans exist because they have never met nor interacted with Gillian, Gillian threatens their beloved idols like: Sa, Bobo, and 2R.

I don't think Mani shares a mother-daughter relationship with Gillian either. Like you said, a mother will always support and give the best to her daughter, which is clearly not the case between Mani and Gillian. I guess, Mani at times feel so sorry for Gillian that she expresses concerns or gentle gestures towards Gillian out of pity, not real love. It’s like, "Sorry, I have to hate you." That's my speculation.

I'm not sure either why Sa gets to begin off the songs but oh well. Both Twins sing equal parts. In I Really Want To Love Him, I loved how Gillian came in after Sa because that actually allowed Gillian time to stretch her notes and vibratos into the resting music and Gillian's final chorus was just amazingly speechless, it was the prominent climax and ending conclusion of the song right before both Twins joined together for a gentle end. That was outstanding.

Maybe, since Sa already expressed her interest in the role, the vague kiss.

I'm sure that Nic has become a big turn-off to many people, especially ones who are parents, from all the things he's done in the past. He has tuned down on his attitude and action after the big flop of his career, but those major things that he's done simply can't be forgotten. The things with the car were extremely irresponsible; who would park his car on the road where it intercepts the railway? He also caused Cecilia and Faye a lot of misery as well; it was so heartbreaking to hear that Cecilia had a sudden breakdown in public because of Nic's two-timing. Even so, I feel a bit sorry for him in some aspects because of his dad. His dad had major debts previously, and that's why Nic practically sold himself to EEG at a young age. That can't be accounted for an absolute excuse for Nic's actions, but it could be a factor that contributed to it. Gillian should just keep Nic as a good friend and colleague.

Edison is definitely a better choice than Nic in general. I'm not amused about his bad attitude, like how he's rude to people sometimes, got beaten up because of his ego/attitude, or the use of profanity and middle fingers, but at least we know he's not fake. People with bad attitudes stink, but those who fake are worse. Edison has gotten nicer and calmer after his short break last year. Even when he was extremely wild back then, he was still a sweet guy towards Gillian. I guess Gillian disagreed towards his attitude problem somewhere along the line, seeing the clip that you shared with us. Perhaps Gillian believes that he's still a good person at heart as well. Even I know someone who acts gangster-ish with the profanity and attitude, but he's still a nice guy. It's not like Gillian could break ties with Edison completely either; they've been friends for so long, and Edison doesn't portray his attitude towards Gillian either.

From the looks of things right now, I'd say Kenny would be the best choice. Gillian's a pretty simple person; she doesn't ask for anything more than someone who will be able to take care of her, put a smile on her face, and be filial to his parents. A luxurious life given to her by a boyfriend probably isn't on Gillian's checklist; she only wishes for a stable life for her and her family. Kenny is someone that Gillian can kid around and be comfortable with. He and Gillian are both people who knows when to spring up some jokes here and there, but they also know when to be serious like when they're working. The sweet things that he does are priceless, and it's nice to know that Gillian has a friend like him by her side. Even though we can almost be sure that Edison and Gillian had a history together back then, I just can't help but think if it's because Edison's life is a bit too exciting and wild for Gillian that they didn't last? Perhaps Gillian would prefer to settle with someone simpler?

Charlene expressed in an interview that it was the director who told her that she didn't have to act mature, but as usual is fine. The first scene I saw of Charlene, I knew she was playing a cute character again. It was just that I saw the promotional posters and magazines which made her look so mature that I thought that she had a mature role in the film, but there was no difference.

The letter was definitely the most heartbreaking scene of the film to me, along with the scene that Sam (Charlie) died in. The manga version had a bigger impact with Sam's dying scene because of how it was described. 'Ko Sir stood with his back to the glass window. With his eyes closed, he sensed Sam's departure from life while listening to his deceased wife's heartbeat. Each heartbeat seemed to be giving Ko Sir another time of Zhi Qing's heartbeat. Just before Sam's life ended, Ko Sir let himself cry once more. But just before Sam's heartbeat completely stopped, he seemed to have heard Sam gently whisper 'Thank you' to him?' Too bad the film didn't shoot that part of Sam whispering to Ko Sir as the manga had written. I agree. If the storyline had added a bit more seriousness to Charlene's character, it would've been more memorable. The parts that I've really felt for Zhi Qing were the letter and her dying scene in the hospital.

Gillian also performs better when she's with a good co-star as well. If her co-star is at the same level as her, or even below her, then she can't possibly learn anything to perform better. Films like 'Beyond Our Ken' and 'Happy-Go-Lucky' had people that she can learn from. Tao Hong has been widely recognized in Mainland for her acting, so with a co-star who has great acting skills and a director who knows how to lead his cast, Gillian gave a superior performance. HK in general said that Gillian ended up giving the better performance even when compared with Tao Hong. Karena and Gillian would be something to anticipate on.

Out of the 'Four Heavenly Kings', Andy and Jacky are the most recognized ones, Andy for acting and Jacky for singing. Well, Andy's the one who's completely active in the showbiz while Jacky's half retired from the showbiz. But yeah, the exposure is definitely there with any of the 'Four Heavenly Kings'. It'd be awesome if this collaboration with Andy on-screen works out, and Gillian could also find a chance to work with Jacky on-stage later on. It would be big pressure to work with Jacky on-stage, but Gillian could learn a lot about singing from him.

Andy will definitely be someone who is hard to reject for EEG. He's a well-known artiste himself as well as producing films, so it's going to take more than the lame excuses to make Andy back off. I just hope he does keep his words and fights with EEG for Gillian if they do attempt to reject this. Can't EEG do just one good thing for Gillian once in their lifetime? Gillian's done a lot on her own already, just let her have an easy break. One high quality film wouldn't even dent Charlene's acting career because they would obvious strive for two or three more good films for her besides the one with Shu Qi if they were to let Gillian do this one with Andy. Let Gillian have another memorable experience on-screen. She should be able to portray a tragic/romantic role in terms of films; she did one in her serial, but how are people in HK going to see that? Just one high quality film for Gillian before she gets booted off the acting area for a full-time singing career.

I guess EEG wasn't kidding when it was announced that Isabella is the next Cecilia when she just came into the showbiz. Wouldn't it get repetitive if Isabella's going to follow exactly in Cecilia's footsteps? I mean, when we have one Cecilia in the showbiz, we only need one. Cecilia's already established herself as a promising actress and holds her place in a definite way; EEG can't just squeeze Isabella in by making her do everything Cecilia does. People are just going to think that she's copying, and it'll be even harder for the audience to accept Isabella as an established actress. It's pretty bad to see all these people assuming that Isabella's acting is bad because they just didn't have a good first impression on her nor a good impression about her singing.

Amazingly, there were more photos of Mani with Gillian than Mani with Charlene published in Mani's book. There were four of Gillian and two of Charlene, but Mani does get closer with Charlene when it's the Mani+Twins photos, and she's the closest with Joey.


We can see that basically everyone who comments about Gillian shows their affection for her. How could Mani not love her when she spends so much time with Gillian? Mani probably understands and knows very well that Gillian is a great person as well as a hardworking artiste, but there's just some mental note in her mind telling her every time when Charlene enters the picture that Charlene is the first priority to her. I guess I only like Mani when she's with Gillian alone, or just not with Charlene in the picture. It's mainly just Charlene; the situation isn't that bad when it's Gillian versus others. When Mani held a promotion for her book with Joey and Gillian there, Mani actually came quite equal with them, keeping them both close by. I think it's also because Joey feels for Gillian; you can see in the group photos of Mani, Gillian, Joey, and Charlene published in Mani's book that Mani usually just puts her arm around Charlene and Joey, but Joey reaches over and across to hold Gillian whether by her hand or arm. Mani is concerned of Gillian and does joke around with her, but it just won't be a time of when the situation affects Charlene. She wouldn't hesitate to push Gillian to the side if anything was wrong with Charlene. I'd say Gillian does strike Mani with her endurance, hard work, and sweetness, but I don't know what's causing the mental note of the first priority thing of Mani's to be so deep. If Gillian gave any kind of bad impressions to Mani, shouldn't Gillian be able to regain herself in Mani's eyes already over all these years to have Mani at least give her a fair chance at things?

hmm well i did like her in the film "tiramisu" with nicholas tse (boy did i cry rivers of tears T_T). actually, i haven't seen a lot of her films. as for the thrillers, i'm too chicken to watch them. lol. the other two movies i've watched her in is "six floor rear flat"? (omg i forgot the name! lol.) and "it had to be you". and for both movies, she didn't give me a great impression. but of course, her acting isn't horrible, maybe it's just my luck that i've caught her in the wrong movies. lol. hmm but how can gillian portray a younger karena? isn't she young herself? how i WISH edison could be andy's son, and gillian would fall in love with him. *sigh* that'll be the day. lol. actually, i quite like karena. ;D it wouldn't be a bad idea for the three of them to collaborate. x} awww i always wanted to watch "the classic", but i never got to it. xP

We all understand that people constantly mature and grow out of their rebellious habits but somethings are difficult to erase. Not only did Nic park his car intercepting the railway but he pushed the entire car accident towards his chauffeur and bribed some officers to cover up the made-up story. Nic fled the scene with Cecilia, called his chauffeur to the crime scene to take full responsibility, boarded a plane, and attended his functions as if nothing happened back there. I find that scary. I guess one of the officers blew the cover and the story was the talk of the city. If one of the officers hadn't leaked it out, Nic would still be roaming around without a penalty to make him realize that life isn't simple even if you're a famous celebrity and life shouldn't be taken so recklessly especially when you're negatively impacting other lives. Cecilia did experience an emotional breakdown causing her huge weight reduction. I don't know how many times Nic announced his retirement from the ET industry but they never fell through, his words are quite meaningless now. It makes me wonder now, if Nic himself was even aware that he still had to carry out his music contract with EEG no matter how anxious he was for retirement. It was only when Anita Mui passed away, Nic gathered himself and departed his bad boy ways.

Things between Edison and Gillian are still a bit hazy. Seems like there are much more factors involved than what we see and extra obstacles that are usually not involved in normal relationships. After the speculated breakup between Edison and Gillian, Edison once stated that Gillian was dangerous grounds to step onto and he was somehow forbidden to trespass. Knowing Edison's impulsive and blunt personality, perhaps he was referring to EEG and their firm restrictions on Gillian. Edison probably received a red flag from Mani and EEG authorities, enough to back down towards Gillian, someone he dearly cared about at that time. EEG/Mani are probably the main people that separated Edison and Gillian apart. After Edison's duel with Shawn over Gillian, came the official Edison and Gillian breakup, and after the breakup, Edison's attitude worsened. Seems like Edison peeled himself out of EEG's pretty boy image in retaliation against a lot of things EEG forced him to do and accept. Ever since then, Edison and Gillian became strangers. There was so much tension between them; it was sad. But no matter how distant they have become over the years, both Edison and Gillian still have an unexplainable bond.

Kenny and Gillian would make a cute pair but for some reason, Kenny is like an EEG puppet, he can't even live a life of his own until who knows when, whenever his lifetime contract with EEG ends. Gillian is already one of EEG's helpless puppets, I want someone who can be bold, daring, and powerful enough to save Gillian, cut EEG's strings, and set her free, Edison. In addition, whenever Gillian stares at Edison, it's genuine love a woman has for a man but when Gillian glances at Kenny, somehow those sparks don't exist. I think Kenny and Gillian have chemistry as a pair of friends or perhaps, deeper like lovers but when Edison steps into the picture, Gillian falters all over again for Edison. I have never seen Gillian project off as much affection and chemistry towards anyone else other than Edison, honestly. I would love for Kenny and Gillian to become more than friends but really, can Gillian forget Edison? Even though Edison's irrational behavior may have shunned Gillian away at some point of their relationship but knowing Gillian, if she loves Edison, she's willing to wait for him, until he has matured enough to continue where they left off and that is exactly what Edison has been doing, growing up into a decent adult. Whoa, I'm looking into things a bit too much lol. Perhaps all of the glamorous parties and girls are just a front to occupy Edison's lonely mind. I'm pretty sure Edison knows when to party, how to party, and when to take things seriously. That's why he's been quite successful with his personal businesses aside from acting/singing.
Seriously, Charlie's death was a bit rushed; Andy had been portraying his characters so well up until that scene, it came out a bit unconvincing, perhaps the low amount of concentration on that scene but from reading the excerpt of the Manga, I like the Manga's description more too.

Gillian should be working with A-List actors for now on because she has established herself quite a prestigious name so far, mainly from BOK. Gillian can collaborate with Andy onscreen, sing with Jacky onstage, dance with Aaron onstage, and switch over to Leon's music label with Janice lol.

I pray, I pray, Andy's request for Gillian will go in his favor. I haven't seen a high quality film featuring Gillian for two years now so let's just hope EEG will grant Gillian this grand opportunity. Both House of Fury and 49 Days were also great films but Gillian's roles weren't challenging enough for her true potential. Hopefully, this Andy collaboration will help Gillian discover and show the audience a whole new level of Gillian's acting talent.
Well, competition is bound to happen. There is only one spot for a Cecilia and EEG is planning on booting the real Cecilia out to make room for their Isabella. Cecilia is a great actress but if her personal life remains unimpressive in regards to her scandals, I'm afraid people may mix the two together and support someone who would be a better role model like Isabella or at least the image EEG presents Isabella with.

Mani strikes me as a pretty good faker. She's in the ET industry alongside with business, she knows her politics very well. Gillian and Mani can have 100+ photos together, Mani's actions are completely the opposite of those cherry smiles and that is all that counts.

Joey has always been a supportive sister of Gillian's; I'm glad at least Gillian can feel at ease when Joey is around. I really think Mani is polluted with biasness towards Gillian and that is something that doesn't go away with time especially when that biasness is in favor of someone else close by, Sa.

Karena is better at horror/suspense films. Her romantic films are decent but I think Karena performs her best at being bizarre especially in Home Sweet Home. Gillian can be the younger Karena, with makeup and wardrobe, Karena will look older in no time lol. The Classic is a classic film. You should find a copy and watch it. You will also cry buckets.

Well, there is a thin line between being protective and purposely stalling one's career. A peck on the cheek or lips won't kill Gillian, it surely hasn't killed Sa yet.

Well, I don't think Sa's father has to personally bribe Mani to make Sa her first priority, Mani herself pretty much does it out of respect since Sa's father and Mani are friends of the same circle. I mean, they work together, under the same roof, and socialize with each other. Now, Sa I believe, Mani treats and cares for as a real daughter. Mani is quite protective of Sa in tough situations like *ahem* the whole Gillian losing 30 pounds to divert reporters from the Sa love rumors and gives Sa plenty of room to develop as an actress without any restrictions. Has Mani ever protected Gillian in the same aspect or pull out some restrictions? No. It's like, you would make your friend's child your first priority, Sa, in comparison to a stranger's child like Gillian.

Hm, could be. Joey does seem closer to Gillian than Sa and Gillian as well seems much closer to Joey than Sa, her partner.

EEG may personally arrange the seating to be like in order to make it seem like Sa is the one who gets along with everyone since she is supposedly the more bubbly one.

I think Gillian didn't care if she was walking like a professional model on the Catwalk or not, it was just for fun but Gillian's laughter just makes everything seem super cute and funny.

So it's already confirmed that these guys are the male leads? But I actually kind of expected that those Gillian and Charlene are going to work with won't be from HK, since they said that the male lead(s) are someone they haven't collaborated with before, and there aren't exactly many young and popular HK actors left that they haven't acted with.

i agree with you. i just wish eeg would just hire some manager like pico. or eeg should just hire that guy when the time mani are away from hong kong. that guy is much better at manageing the artist than mani. so what about the owner of eeg don't they read any newspaper or any e-mail that fans send to them.

Again, how disappointing on Gillian's behalf that every worthy scene of hers gets deleted in the end. There was a lot of room to spare for that kissing scene in the music video if they had deleted some of Sa's solo scenes out. Hm, I've watched like two clips behind the scenes but I didn't see this part though?

That's true. But wouldn't the film be in dual languages? At least Wilson knew Cantonese even though he was Taiwanese. Hopefully, no dubbing over the voices is involved, I hate that. I prefer the original voices no matter what. Unless these two guys speak decent Cantonese already or Twins completely speak in Mandarin but that's unlikely the case since it is an EMG based film.

Gillian looks so beautiful. I love her emotional expressions, they're heartbreaking lol. Anyway, Shawn once mentioned that he doesn't like girls who paint their nails especially black, Gillian does that all the time. Well, not in these photos but Gillian is always caught with black nail polish shimmering on her fingernails in other functions. Just found that funny. Shawn went against his own standards for Gillian lol. Gillian's hair doesn't seem as sloppy as usual so it's looks really nice here.

Both Twins sang pretty nice. Gillian actually sounds better live than on CD because seems like her emotions for the song are much more alive live than the standard ones on CD, that is what I mean.

omfg.. i'm like traumatized right now. eeg is getting on my last nerves! now why the heck would they film a kissing scene if they're not gonna put it in the mv? i swear they just wanna tease gillian with kissing scenes, because they're always cutting them out after having her done it. grrr....
