Thinking back, it's pretty amazing of what Nic did. Not in a positive way. Wouldn't it be really hard on a person's mind and conscience to be acting like nothing's ever happened while knowing that someone else is taking responsibility for what you've done? And to think he was calm enough to call his chauffeur and do some bribing after such an accident. It's a good thing of how the truth came out as it should because at least Nic learns that he can't get away from such serious things, even though there are so many people like EEG and his family protecting him from the real consequences such as jail time. He probably won't be able to retire from the ET industry until who knows when. There's no way that EEG would let him off the hook that easily until he fully fulfills his contract and earns enough money for them.

Edison really seems like the kind of person who gives natural responses like 'If you press down on me anymore, I'll be sure to rebel.'; his words about Gillian were a bit vague yet so clear when you switch a POV while reading it. It wouldn't be out of the ordinary if EEG had anything to do with their break up. Possibly from EEG's hard restrictions on Gillian, Edison had to back down from Gillian. Edison's a pretty blunt person, so he most likely wouldn't have been satisfied of his forced backing down on Gillian without a good reason. That could explain why he shed the image that EEG built for him, as a response to his dissatisfaction. But I'd say their break up was more like half and half; EEG's interference was probably a factor, but Edison can't spare himself for his attitude either. Perhaps Gillian and Edison would meet up again later on as Edison has done more maturing and put more thought into how he acts. It'd be nice for them to at least be good friends again and don't have to act like strangers on appearance in the future, even if nothing else could come up between them again. I don't know; Gillian is a girl with determination in her, so it seems like a second chance is unlikely. Nevertheless, Edison's always been a nice person towards Gillian. I wonder if he felt disturbed by the Alex+Gillian rumours? Since there were reports saying that he wasn't quite friendly towards Alex and started pointing fingers at him during an awards ceremony of some kind. Not something nice to do, but it just feels a bit suspicious.

It takes a lot of courage to cut your own strings while being a puppet of EEG's. There's practically no one who is as bold as Edison to do whatever he wants. Nic was, or how about even more extreme, but he still had to tone down because he still had to carry on with his career in the ET industry because of his contract with EEG. I don't think there's even anyone left in EEG who would be so daring to oppose of EEG. I agree that Kenny's just about the least likely of all people to do any opposing; even Steven is more bold in those terms. Steven is blunt when it comes to admitting of how he feels about people and things. Just watching 'The Weakest Link' really shows it all about Edison and Gillian; she looks at him like he's someone she can really depend on, someone who can protect her. It is more affectionate. When Gillian looks at Kenny, it's a somewhat comfortable feeling with no tension. Kenny and Gillian do have a really good relation with each other; it's the feeling of really good friends, or maybe just a bit over the border, but if it wants to develop into something more, there's going to have to be more accumulation to it. Gee, I'm starting to feel like Gillian's like Charlie in 'All About Love', loving a man who has a life that's too exciting for her to bear with. Kenny is someone who can walk a simple path with Gillian, but the question you suggested is right, can she really forget about what's gone on before? Gillian really should be proceeding to work with people who are more established in the acting industry. That's a way that she'll learn more about how to act and receive tips about it, yet she's still working with people who are at or below where her level is. Not to mention she should be getting better scripts as well. I guess all of the above, which should have happened, didn't happen because it's not in EEG's favour to give her the opportunities to establish herself more. That would be so awesome if it happened, collaboration with all of the "4 Heavenly Kings". Someone's gotta be really lucky to have all that happen, but too bad it sounds so unlikely for it to happen with Gillian. We'll be really granted if Gillian can first collaborate with Andy on-screen. Hopefully, Gillian will receive this grand opportunity, a film with a good script and challenging character. EEG should just display the least bit of support with no barriers towards Gillian for once. It won't kill them. They should at least let the audience know that Gillian does possess ability to act, even if they weren't going to let her specially develop on acting since the place is reserved, instead of letting people go around saying that she can't. It's only affecting their own reputation as a company of having so many 'talentless' artistes.

The question is will they succeed? I find it hard for Isabella to be trying to boot Cecilia off. Even with Cecilia's previous scandals of her personal life, HK is still supportive of her with her acting. In HK, Isabella isn't really considered as a good role model. Many in HK dislike her because she's in the ET industry at such a young age, yet she hasn't proved to them her singing skills. It's really mean that they just put a big X on her because of first impressions. I'd say they don't even look at Isabella's acting before judging. Her singing skills may not be too impressive, but her acting skills are pretty good.

Gillian is really relaxed with Joey, in contrast with Charlene. Gillian has been more at ease than ever when she was frequently out at functions with Joey during this period of time when Charlene was busy filming 'A Chinese Tall Story' in Mainland and frequently absent from HK functions. Joey has been very supportive of Gillian all along.

Read in the news section that "Around The World With 80 Dollar" is on the upcoming list for JSG. Seems like EEG is promoting that song alot. Is there going to be a TVB verison then?

At the moment, I think no one really cares if Gillian was to share her first onscreen kiss with an amazing popular guy or not, whether the kiss was given to this music video cutie or Andy, we just want to see the long waited kiss. EEG has teased out our patience so thin, that Gillian's grand kissing scene isn't even as anticipated anymore, it's more like, hurry up already, finallly, oh the end. I guess, that was their intentions anyway. We're pretty immuned to disappointments already.

I think she was joking about Sa. It's not Sa's fault but we're all still baffled, a kissing scene is nothing serious, Sa, someone who is younger with supposedly a cuter image has shared numerous kissing scenes YET Gillian, who is older and more mature is forbidden. In addition, this music video kiss wasn't even a real kiss anyway. They used camera tricks again to produce the kiss so it was pointless in deleting the scene. I agree. In a relationship, it really comes down to how committed the two individuals are willing to compromise and battle against all odds against them. It wouldn't matter how strong of a negative influence EEG/Mani impacted their love, if both were strong and compatible enough, the relationship would have worked out. But then again, both were still so young to clearly choose what they truly wanted. EEG could have placed Gillian in a tough position by forcing her to ultimately choose what was more important to her at that time and I guess, Gillian chose her career since she was still quite young and had a family to financially support. Edison, someone who doesn't understand the meaning of financial obligations since he has always been wealthy couldn't understand Gillian's final decision and believed that she betrayed his love for her; therefore, grew cold and distant from Gillian. Edison is those type of macho guys whose reputation can't be disrespected. Whenever the reporters asked Edison about Gillian rumors, he responded with anger and resentment but only a person who still cares and painfully hurt would answer in such a way but like always, Edison had to keep his cool and acted out his grudge towards Gillian. After reading or hearing how rude Edison commented on Gillian, Gillian probably felt confused at this sudden change of attitude towards her and began separating her own way as well. Gillian is an extremely determined person against those people who have doubted her, misjudged her, and underestimated her potential/success careerwise but in terms of love, I think Gillian is quite soft at heart. I mean, just look around at the people next to Gillian, all have not been the most loving and considerate individuals like Edison once was but yet, Gillian still remains quite faithful and sacrificial towards them despite history.

I think Edison felt like Alex was two timing Gillian and Stephy, Gillian, someone Edison once dated underground and Stephy, one of Edison's good girl buddies so he acted the way he did. I think Alex and Stephy have always shared rumors together during the same time with Gillian but it wasn't as blown out of proportions as now.

Nic lost his fire ever since everyone left his side due to his reckless behavior. Edison was so rebellious against EEG, EEG finally had to accommodate his Hip Hip/R&B music ideas and album, which was a slap in EEG's face because EEG mainly only represents Idol Pop Music. Steven could be as bold as Edison but unfortunately, Steven doesn't have a wealthy well-known business Daddy like Edward Chen, a God-father like Jackie Chan, an uncle like Andy Lau, another God-father like Anthony Wong, and another God-father like White Dragon to support his spoiled ways like Edison.

I say, things between Edison and Gillian were nothing but simple misunderstandings. They both just need to meet each other again, clearly converse, hold nothing back, and eventually get to the bottom of their issues together, they both will discover that everything wasn't even worth avoiding each other for. I mean, like you've said how EEG created a page of awards for Isabella but not for Gillian, which Gillian already received a nomination like two years back. I don't think EEG will succeed in booting Cecilia out because Isabella isn't as pretty and somehow just doesn't possess that charm Cecilia introduces into each film but who knows, Isabella is still very young, she still has a long way to prove herself. I find that odd though, Cecilia is like almost a decade older than Isabella, they shouldn't even be in the same race because by the time Isabella wears the crown, Cecilia would already be half-retired anyway. If Gillian does a good job acting, it doesn't matter whether she needs to kiss a guy or not. Just like how she got nominated for BOK. Not a single kissing scene, but intimate sexual scenes are clearly referenced, and I think simple things like holding hands and hugging count for intimate scenes too. She was also able to dress up as a pregnant lady in Moving Targets. So it's not like EEG is keeping her completely pure.

cecilia can act as many different characters. The most outstanding proformence Cecilia have ever in was "The Promise". I agree; it's like EEG has this vibe of unoriginality in promoting their artistes. Why does Isabella have to be marked as the next Cecilia? Why does Vincy have to be labelled the next Joey? Why were Boy'Z labelled the male Twins when they first came out? When someone establishes themselves in the industry, it's not like EEG can just bring someone else up by saying that they're the next so-and-so, follow the exact same pathway, and try to 'take over'. It just doesn't happen that way. Many of the audience are stubborn and usually stick to the one whom they've seen first, unless the later one is absolutely better. I know; Cecilia has won all these awards and has been recognized already, so why would she be anywhere in the same range as Isabella, who is just starting out in the acting industry? It'd be pretty awesome if Joey and Gillian shared a duet. I wonder how that will sound? One thing for sure, EEG should never attempt to have Joey sing a duet with Isabella nor Vincy; it would really show how similar these three voices actually are. If they want to produce a sweet sounding female duet, then Joey+Gillian would be the best selection there is. It should sound decent because they have distinct voices from each other. Possibly it'd sound really 'sweet' because both are able to give quite high notes. Your points are true. EEG has not been keeping Gillian's image completely pure because of the mature content in BOK and the pregnancy in Moving Targets, but with the restrictions of the kissing going on, Gillian misses out on good scripts. Some scripts, though not all, do have requirings of kissing in them for the storyline, but if Gillian is unable to fulfill the requests of the script, then she'll have to pass the script over. Passing each script over would mean losing each chance of showing her potential on-screen, so it's not entirely true for you to say that it shouldn't matter that much whether Gillian kisses someone or not. We do love Gillian even without the kiss, but it does lead to a concern if not being able to kiss on-screen limits her in acting. I believe you are someone who is understanding, so you must see my point there.


The future is unknown; that's something that we can't argue about because we all know it's true. We are afraid of EEG neglecting Gillian if Twins were to disband because Gillian's situation is barely decent even when Twins are still existing. Yet we also have the hope that if Gillian and Charlene weren't in direct competition, EEG may treat Gillian slightly better.

The general audience in HK do believe that they'll do better together, but the actual Twins fans are so split up into distinct groups of Sa and Gil that it's not even funny. So I do believe that if the disbanding took place, some fans will indeed choose Gillian while others will choose Charlene, but not all choosing one person because it'd be pretty impossible. Mainland and Taiwan fans are quite eager to have them stick together; they are the ones who are determined to have Twins stay. I don't know what their theory is, but I've read opinions on it at CCT about this, and most of them express that they don't mind of separate films nor solo songs of each, but they just want them to release albums using the title of Twins. I wonder if that means they're fine with it if they released an album which wrote Twins on the cover but consisted with all solo songs inside?

Well, perhaps not for saying that kissing takes one into the next level of acting, but kissing is basically taken as no brainer in an HK film. It's really common, so I think that's what megazerox meant by it being a standard. It doesn't make one's acting get more superior, but without it, an artiste is definitely limited, in terms of scripts.

Gillian's nomination for Best Actress in Beyond Our Ken and box office hit of 49 Days actually had no direct relation to Twins. In the acting industry, Gillian is a solo artist except for Twins films that have only been ridiculed and never appreciated nor recognized as decent so Gillian is quite strong without Sa.

Gillian is certainly pretty but I think it's a bit weird to say, we as fans wish to watch Gillian kiss solely for physical aspect of things.

That was before. Over the years, Gillian has grown and matured into a beautiful young woman. Gillian can't wear school uniforms and hold hands forever. A kissing scene is an introduction to a more mature audience and bolder roles, Gillian has been more than ready for more challenging characters that require a lot more than just smiling at each other without physical interaction. Gillian herself has expressed numerous of times now that she has reached an appropriate age for a simple kiss on the lips or cheeks and we all support her decision. If Gillian feels comfortable enough for a kiss, then I don't think EEG should inhibit her choice. Of course, Gillian will always be loved and supported with or without the kiss but we as fans are also maturing as well, we would love to watch Gillian in a more serious level of acting.

If everything was as simple for Gillian, we all wouldn't be so concerned. If Twins do disband, Gillian won't have a problem surviving in the ET industry without Sa but mainly due to the complete lack of promotions and support from her own management. Gillian possesses the beauty, potential, and talent to become an established singer and actress but it also depends on EEG/Mani whether they will grant her that road or not.

Completely concur. EEG probably hates rejecting large film productions on Gillian's behalf. They're losing money and a chance to expand their empire further but I guess, restricting Gillian is more important because they're obligated to another special artist.

True, true. EEG loves to duplicate and clone things. The only wise ideas EEG has managed to keep fueling their empire are: the lifetime contracts with their artists, a few artists like Joey, Twins, Nic, and now Vincy, and their all-out promotions. If EEG does decide to throw Gillian in the freezer after Twins disband, EEG will suffer a tremendous loss, even their special beloved artists won't be able to cover.

I want Joey and Gillian to collaborate on a duet because Joey mainly sings extended vibratos. If Joey sings vibratos in challenging emotional songs, so well Gillian. In female duets, both singers usually sing the same pattern. EEG definitely won't simplify the notes because it involves Joey so Gillian would actually have an opportunity to sing Joey's genre of music.

If Joey and Sa sang together, Joey's voice will reveal how deep Sa's voice is especially when Joey's voice is much more difficult to maintain at standard notes because Joey doesn't sing standard simplified notes. But if EEG pulled a S.H.E. format, the duet may turn out just right. But knowing EEG, they never pull a S.H.E. format. Twins would sound better if Gillian sang the higher notes and Sa sang the lower notes when they both join but since Twins songs don't follow that format, it comes out unsynchronized.

See...I knew liking this song would pay off.....It's just a matter of time that people would start to realize it too....Gillian's song is catchy even if it does have that ba-ba-ba-da da..thingy in the beginning all the more reason to like it because it's just so happy...LIke I've said before it's the kind of song you'd want to listen to when you've had so a hard long tiring day..and you wanna relax--you'd listen to her solo...

Right now I'm just really hoping Gillian get to act with Andy....But hasn't she acted with Jimmy? Isn't he one of the Four Heavenly Kings? Or Am I mistaken?
I don't see why Gillian getting promoted as much as charlene is or getting to work with the high profile actors would neglect charlene....what does it matter? I'd say that if Charlene was a really good friend to Gillian she would say something...I mean if Sa can get this much recognition from Mani then she could easily say something like "Why not give it to Gillian?" or something like that but I bet anything charlene wants more of the recognition then Gillian that's why she wouldn't do anything about it....Even if Mani does want Charlene to she could just say no...It's as simple as that.

I agree Gillian would still manage through even if Twins does split because she still manage to shine through it all even with all these restrictions on her. It's not because of her beauty that we're just so fond of her but because of her personality, her talent, and the potential she has in her to keep trying and pushing herself to strive for the best---is what makes a good actress and singer.
Even if EEG doesn't want to promote her more she's still be recognize in her own way which is better. Gillian doesn't need her company all though it would be better if her own company would support her and promote her more then us fans wouldn't have so much to say but because of the lack that her company gives her is just highly wrong. I'm here just out of curiosity. I didnt know who Gillian was , seeing she has 2571 posts. Realised she is the girl from Twins which I have heard of. I have seen them on cable TV and always thought the other girl was prettier (think her name is Charlene) Now that I've seen photos of her in this thread I think she is beautiful and much better looking then the other girl. She doesnt look like the type of celebrity that loves themselves just because they are pretty.

Gillian's solo is cute. The melody is decent but I believe what makes the solo quite irresistible is Gillian's voice. The way Gillian hits each note produces a cheerful effect that just really brightens up anyone's day like you've said. Gillian's voice is already naturally soothing and energetic, the solo doesn't need such a super fast melody like Transformation Party or Around the World With 80 Dollars to help it shine with energy.

Jimmy is one of the Heavenly Princes of Taiwan whereas Andy is part of the Four Heavenly Kings of Hong Kong. Jimmy and Gillian already collaborated in The Monkey King: Quest for the Sutra but I'm not satisfied with that serial. The Jimmy and Gillian scenes were so limited. I wish another collaboration between Jimmy and Gillian will happen soon but perhaps in an ancient serial since Jimmy is widely known for his dramas now versus his films. Jimmy is still quite popular in Mainland and Taiwan, he ranked in third place as Taiwan's most popular drama actor plus his recent album surpassed the 600,000 mark as well so he's been making a full return into the ET industry, mainly music. Hopefully, Jimmy will help expose Gillian properly into the Mainland and Taiwanese audiences unlike Wong Jing's The Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain, we still don't know the outcome yet but I hope it won't be as big of a flop.

I'm pretty sure Sa takes notice of the things that go around but I don't think Sa is that passionate about Gillian's restrictions as we are; I mean, Sa kissed Andy right in front of Gillian without considering how awkward and uncomfortable it would be in Gillian's position but I'm not going to dwell into that matter again.

Twins are still Twins because of their cute image, not because they're recognized in the music industry as decent singers or great actresses (Twins films blow ). I have to applaud the crew that works behind the scenes of Twins' success that have constantly inserted some really nice songs into Twins' albums all along, even though Twins may not have the best voices, their songs are catchy enough to maintain their level of popularity. If I resided in HK, I would know fluent Chinese and that in itself is already a major step towards helping Gillian. I would also riot for Gillian if necessary. It only takes some bold fans to begin fighting for Gillian to create a worthy wake up call against EEG/Mani but in a civilized, mature, and professional way so that our concerns will be taken seriously. But I guess, the time hasn't arrived yet for major changes.

Welcome to the Gillian thread here at AF. I guess it really depends on preference since beauty is subjective. Gillian is indeed pretty and humble too, which makes her so lovable.

I think Gillian's extreme beauty is brought out with straight hair but unfortunately, she's been stuck, is stuck, and is going to be stuck with curly hair for the rest of this summer/year. Ah, I miss Gillian with straight hair. Gillian looks nice with curls too but way better with long straight hair. Sa seems to have already trimmed her hair making this her 3-4 hairstyle change YET Gillian is still trapped in the same old curls. I wonder if they actually permed Gillian's hair to have that curly effect 24/7 or are those extensions or does Gillian's hair get fried every morning before an event or function? Either way, it's not healthy for Gillian's hair.

Speaking of hair, have you guys noticed that Sa has really thin hair? When Twins had two cute ponytails on the side, I was like huh? I thought Sa's hair was fuller than that but I guess not. It's not anything bad. I guess that's how Sa could spike it out so lovely. Hm, Sa looks better with short hair after seeing Sa with longer hair. Sa looks more unique and distinct with short hair.

Gillian still looks super beautiful all covered up though. Perhaps it's preference. Gillian's fashion is much more conservative than Sa's. Gillian usually wears clothes that cover her very well or baggy outfits to cover her figure. I wonder why? Gillian has a great figure, mind as well grant fans some more eye candy lol. I guess, Gillian looks meatier in pictures is because of her wardrobe. Gillian's outfits don't cling onto her figure but instead expands it making Gillian look bloated but realistically, Gillian is already thin and slender; Gillian needs to return to jeans. I remember I read in Twinsfans.net that Gillian is eating 'jai', or eating vegetarian style for a month because this month was the month that her grandfather passed away last year. So maybe that's why Gillian has been losing a bit more weight recently. Also, maybe Gillian is still on that '30lb diet' for their new movie since I also heard that they were going to start filming in July. By then, I think Gillian might have a new hairstyle. She may even cut her hair seeing how Twins are going to act as 'Twins' in their new movie. And since they have to look alike, I'm guessing that Gillian's going to have to cut her hair seeing how short Charlene's hair is recently. I hope that for their new movie that Gillian is going to go back to her straight hair, seeing how Charlene's hair is straight too. And I'd like to see a new hairstyle for Gillian. We've seen the curly hair for over 6 months now and usually Gillian would have changed into a new hairstyle by now...

Also, I think that Gillian just likes to dress up more comfortably, while Charlene likes to dress up more fashionable. So maybe that's why Gillian always wears baggy clothes.

That's true. Gillian's hair will probably return to being straight to match up with Sa's. Hm, hopefully Gillian doesn't cut her hair to Sa's length because Gillian looks beautiful with long straight hair but oh well, there's always extensions. That is probably why Gillian lost a bit more weight plus Gillian has been running around like crazy but at least Gillian looks healthy though. I agree, Sa is more fashionable whereas Gillian is much more of comfort. Some of Sa's outfits are really cute and nice but at times, it makes me wonder if Sa can comfortably move around in them especially the short skirts and sexy tops, there are a lot of commotion and screaming fans, I wouldn't want anyone to take advantage of Sa or stare at places they're not supposed to.

Gillian looks more mature with curls covering her face but in these recent photos, I guess this is what EEG calls a new hairstyle for Gillian, just pulling the hair back with curls. Either way, Gillian still looks really pretty whether it be curly, straight, long, or short.
I've never seen Gillian spike her hair out like Sa's before, it would be interesting to see that hairstyle on Gillian. It certainly already looks really cute on Sa, if Gillian's hairstyle was to change into that in order to make both Twins appear like real Twins, I wouldn't mind so much. Seems like Gillian matches every hairstyle out there anyways.

I second that. Gillian needs to lose the curls no matter what. Both Twins having short hair will take us 5-6 years back when they first began and looked so much alike.

It was really cute of Gillian. Edison surfs around youtube as well so he might have a chance of seeing the clip; I hope he does. Both Gillian and Edison seem faithful to each other even though both have been surrounded by endless love rumors, they all end up being fake by the media.

With Steven and Gillian, and with many similar situations in reality, everything is so ironic. People like Steven and Gillian don't have intentions to please and impress people to bring themselves to a higher position, but they're just blunt and do what they feel is best for themselves. It's bad for them in terms of how executives deal with them, but it makes the audience and the rest of the people love them dearly. It's like they have all the popularity in them, but they don't receive the actual support and promotion from the executives/people who make official decisions. Playing teacher's pet can really bring you to higher and better positions, but it just makes people around you feel sick and tired of it. It's not just about the ET industry, but for all place in general, whether it be school or work.

That I don't argue with. It was rather obvious that Edison kept himself within the boundaries during his supposed relationship with Gillian, but after the ties were broken, he just let up on himself. He just went all wild again after losing Gillian, but with Gillian, he was a tad bit more conserved with himself and his actions. We're obviously not going to be so blind of just wanting Gillian to pick a certain person because they look good together and what not, but we should just hope that she finds the right person, someone who she feels comfortable with. All the candidates listed are great in different aspects, but there may be someone else who's superior to all of the above.

It's either that EEG is extremely loose on Charlene for her dating issues, or they just want the media to continue on with their cooking up of RC rumours to keep up Charlene's exposure. RC rumours have brought a lot of exposure on both Charlene and Ronald; it's just the Alex+Gillian rumours covered over them for a period of time, then it evened out until the AG rumours eventually died off while RC rumours are still everlasting. EEG always brings out some kind of bogus about 'Oh, we definitely don't mind if our artistes date! In fact, we definitely support them!'; it's like 'Yeah right!'. Most companies do object to dating because of the imaginations of fans. I don't understand the thinking of those fans; if they really take someone as their idol, shouldn't they want them to be happy and carry on a life with all the necessary steps? But instead, they just somehow want them to stay single forever. Anyway, some companies just let their artistes go ahead with it even so if they know that they can't stop it. EEG, of all, is definitely one that will do all to stop their artistes from dating, if not, it's into the freezer. Look at Bondy! Look at Grace! What happened to them? Disappeared because of dating, but back out to make an official comeback.

I know; you'd think that being such a big umpire, they would think of making profit first, but instead they keep all their brainpower focused on how to progress one of their artistes by stalling another. If they were just a bit more sensible with their dealings, EEG would've more or less been a better company, if not, they'll at least be richer. The only wise things that they do are make lifetime contracts with their artistes just in case they make it big. Then if they actually wanted to leave, they would have to pay large sums of money or something. They'd be so dumb to throw Gillian in the freezer; according to magazine reports, Gillian has been making more money as a grand total than Charlene for the past two years. Then when both of them add up, they make some tremendous amount since it's two amounts added together. Even if we don't speak of how Gillian earns more money, she still won't make any less than Charlene. Freezing her is still a dumb thing to do if the only factor leading to that is because she's not allowed to outshine a certain someone.

Joey's songs are usually quite challenging, so it'd be really nice if Gillian will be able to try more songs of Joey's genre. We heard of how well she portrayed her song during the 2006 concert. Gillian also said during an interview that she loves singing 'One Collision Two Separations' during karaoke time because it's so emotional and challenging. Oh, I'd love to hear how Gillian sings 'One Collision Two Separations'; it's one of my favourites of Joey's songs! I believe that Gillian could portray the song in a whole different way just like she did with 'Good Deeds There Are Many'.

Wouldn't it be cool if they had Twins sing a song with Joey and followed a S.H.E. format? But then they'd more or less be stomped on about how they're copying, so it's probably not a very good idea. A Joey+Gillian duet would sound quite interesting though. It would give Gillian a great chance to sing vibratos. I wonder how it'll be like for Joey's and Gillian's voices to join up?

The more I listen to Gillian's solo, the more I think her way of portraying it was good. The critique written on Yesasia.com reassured me that I wasn't being too biased along the line. "Gillian's solo song, "Which Day Is It Today?" is a project that gives off a very different feeling. Gillian's voice within the song has become much more sweeter, smoother, and more beautiful from any of her past projects; Charlene's "Watching A Movie Alone" has great lyrics with great composing. Both solo songs were quite good." The critiques written on Yesasia.com are usually quite harsh as well. Like with 'My Father, Mother', this person commented that Gillian's voice was indeed beautiful, but needed more work on her singing skills. With 'Conscience Discovery', he commented that it was just a satisfactory song. But with Gillian's recent solo, he actually gave many praises. It was pretty amazing.

It's not hard to realize what's happening around you, so it's easy to see that Charlene of course is aware. I highly doubt that Charlene's the naive kind of girl who believes everything around her is beautiful, and the dark forces around her are just hiding all the ugly sides of things from her. Things aren't that simple though. We may think that it'd be easy for Charlene to just say something good for Gillian, and things may get better, but there are so many other factors about it. Perhaps Charlene doesn't have that kind of influence, or maybe she just won't do it even if she did have that kind of influence. It's understandable, though not right, because it's human nature. Seriously, if you were in this nice, comfy spot right now under the spotlight, would you go off asking for fairness when asking for fairness between you and your buddy could mean that your buddy would have the power to boot you off of the comfy spot? Highly unlikely. I'm not saying that this is true between Charlene and Gillian, but there's just a possibility it could be. Any person would want to get things the easy way with the challenges, but there just are others who are less fortunate.

I hope Twins' mini concert gets aired soon; I'm so anticipating on Kenny and Gillian's live duet; I want to see what kind of chemistry they portray on-stage together. They have been on-stage together before, but Charlene and Steven were always there before, so I want to see how they are alone. When is the MV for 'You Are The Bravest' coming out? I've heard people talking about it since the time the MV of 'I Really Want To Love Him' came out, but it hasn't been released yet. Hopefully, there is a MV for Gillian's solo, and a decently filmed one as well. The so-called MVs consisted of random clips are so cheesy.

I hope that the straight part of her hair will gradually spread to rest of her hair. That way, eventually we'll see a Gillian with a head of straight hair by July if we're lucky.

Twins revealed part of their schedule for the coming times during a radio interview. In 'Let's Steal Together', Gillian said that she and Charlene are portraying a pair of twins who look totally different with totally different personalities, but by being thieves, they will have many fighting scenes. Gillian also mentioned that they have a concert at WenDeng during August. Charlene added that they are planning and recording their upcoming cantonese album right now, but they still have a few songs left, so their album will be coming out in September - October.

Edited: I was so bored that I re-watched 2006 concert. And the last two song Twins sang, it annoyed me. I didn't like the way Charlene sang "Love Is Bigger Than The Sky" because the way she was singing it, it was like every last word she would make it so high pitch. Also it sounded like she ruinied "Kite and Wind" because the way she was singing that, she have to bend alittle to get some air into the words which isn't good. But Gillian she just stands there singing her line like theres nothing wrong and Charlene takes deep breath before she says some words.

Twins said that they usually do take about a year's time of planning for each album. So for the upcoming cantonese album, they said they've been producing it since the mandarin album came out.

Steven and Gillian have extremely different personalities yet share the same trait of honesty; they're just simple people trying to make ends meet for their families, they didn't enter the ET industry to be the World's Finest or scramble themselves in competition with others so impressing or becoming teacher's pet absolutely means nothing to them. I admire that. They are the very few who aren't tainted by the ET industry's dirty schemes to reach the top. And ironically, it's those humble few individuals who actually do reach the top without all of the cat fights and drama.

Ronald and Sa are such an odd pair but perhaps that would attract more coverage and exposure since it definitely keeps everyone wondering, Why Ronald? Some fans are quite scary with their obsessions but that's just a small portion of the overall population though or else no celebrities would be able to marry. A lot of fans don't want their idols to disappear from the media and ET industry after marriage so they're attempting to kill the fire while it's still early at the dating stage. EEG are the biggest hypocrites. They penalize their artists for something they publically support, dating? Riiight. EEG could just be very lenient on Sa. Seems like Sa is usually the exception in most cases anyway.

Gillian still manages to make more than Sa annually despite all of those setbacks from EEG. No wonder why Gillian has been completely pulled out of films this year. Wouldn't want Gillian to appear as the more successful Twin for three years in a row. I'm so proud of Gillian.

Hopefully, one of Gillian's friends releases that personal karaoke copy online somehow like the previous ones Gillian sang. I would love to hear Gillian sing that song as well. Gillian has a great voice just like Joey's but unfortunately, Gillian is so limited, there is no room for her vocals to grow professionally. Hearing Gillian perform Joey's song at the Twins 2006 concert, Gillian's voice just shines with so much energy, I'm waiting for an outstanding ballad that will complete Gillian's vocals.

Gillian, Joey, and Sa can form a S.H.E. format. I guess, it wouldn't necessarily be called copying because a lot of combined artists have to sing in that pattern to synchronize. Joey can be Selina: the highest notes, Sa as Ella: the low notes, and Gillian as Hebe: the high, standard, and low notes plus leader as well. It would sound awesome. A Joey-Gillian duet would also turn out lovely. I bet people would criticize Gillian less after hearing Gillian sing with someone sensational like Joey; Gillian will also have an opportunity to expose her wonderful voice in convincing emotional ballads.

I completely agree with Yesasia's critique of Gillian's solo. Gillian's voice in her solo is just too addictive. The solo carries you away into a free and relaxing yet energetic state of mind, so soothing and perfect for a long rough day. Gillian's voice is absolutely magnificent, versatile, and beautiful in this simple song that begins off as a child's sing-along-song but eventually captures your youth.

Even sisters and best friends who grew up together ever since babies have competition of their own. Gillian and Sa are no exception. Twins are two young girls from completely different backgrounds and extremely different personalities, I doubt everything between them were smooth and happy dandy. All Twins fans would love to believe that there are no inner emotions of jealousy, greed, or anger between Twins but realistically, that is human nature. Even if Sa was aware of Gillian's restrictions, it's highly unlikely Sa would step into the issue to support Gillian. It's the dirty and crooked ET industry we're referring to, not some type of playground, this type of bitter-sweet relationship between two individuals like Sa and Gillian exist everywhere, it's common. I guess, Gillian and Sa can never truly be friends friends until both retire and know that one or the other won't directly affect their careers, fame, or opportunities anymore.

If Twins are still planning on visiting America as part of their World Tour, it won't likely happen until Christmas since the majority of Chinese artists love to hold their concerts during the Winter Holidays. RC definitely brings a lot of attention, even though most are objections and complaints. From what I've seen, many of Charlene's fans do oppose of Ronald supposedly dating Charlene. Attention is still given even though they're negative, and attention and exposure are those simple things that companies want to achieve for their artistes. RC rumours have been going on for a long period of time; whenever it does seem to die off, something new about them pops up. ex. Ronald supposedly has a tattoo on his arm saying 'Charlene', and he and Charlene apparently went to America together during their break. I guess some fans do just give up and accept their idol dating when they know they can't change it. It really sums down to how determined the artistes are themselves to see whether their relationship is able to last since sometimes we hear these artistes saying that they broke up with another artiste because they couldn't take the pressure of the media and fans. I suppose EEG has their set of rules, but the consequences vary from person to person due to favortism.

Yeah, EEG's just trying way too hard to stall Gillian. It's more or less like we want to tell them to not be so stupid about this. If Gillian is able to surpass Charlene with earnings with the setbacks, what will her earnings be if they didn't stall her? Gillian would be making way more profit, which means EEG would be as well. Think of all those films that she missed out on; if she actually did those and received recognition for them, her salary for films would surely be much higher. Man, I can go on and on about how EEG has and is causing Gillian's loss in money making from accumulation.

HK people do make big fusses about copying if they hear about anything being similar to something that's been produced before. It's usually the haters who take time to do that, but it does happen. So I wouldn't be surprised if that actually happened if Joey, Gillian, and Charlene were to collaborate on a song. I love how you distributed the parts; it sounds really good, and it's based on what each can do the best. A Joey+Gillian duet could help pull Gillian out of her limits in singing. She could finally be challenging herself in singing instead of being setback with all the standard notes that Twins have been singing all along.


Gillian expressed that her solo really describes herself personally. Gillian does have an energetic and playful side of herself, and I suppose she's a person who knows when to let go of things according to what the song narrates.

The fans at CCT are perfect examples of those who want to believe, or have manipulated themselves to believe, that Twins are perfect best friends who never have disputes with each other. Sadly, it's not true. In no doubt, Gillian and Charlene do count on each other and depend on each other when they work together, but the competition still exists between them. There are still comparisons between them being made, so it's obvious that they are threats to each other despite being in the same group and title. It's definite that Gillian and Charlene both know what's happening between them, and it's definite that Charlene knows that if she and Gillian were put with the same promotions, fair and equal, that Gillian will become a huge threat towards her, seeing where Gillian is without the decent promotion guiding her. No artiste would want their position to be threatened by anyone, even a friend. We can't blame Charlene for not stepping in because it simply is human nature, and it's the ET industry we're talking about. Things are just dark and complicated. With Gillian and Charlene being Twins, the threats are even bigger than if they were two individual artistes. The split of Twins is happening sooner or later, and we know it. Many fans, mainly HK, have split into distinct groups of who they're supporting. I heard from a fan at another forum that during a autograph session for their mandarin album, a Charlene fan went up to Gillian, and just as Gillian took out her hand to shake hands with her, the fan said, "I only like Ah Sa; I don't like you!" Then the fan walked over to shake hands with Charlene. Can you believe it? There are really people who are so rude that they would do that. Do they not know that celebrities have feelings as well? The fan definitely didn't have to say that in Gillian's face; it's called show some respect. If she didn't want to shake hands with Gillian, then don't walk up to her. Just stay where Charlene is. No one's forcing her to love Gillian, but respect herself, others who do love Gillian, Gillian, and Charlene.

I don't even know whether there'll be a MV for "You Are The Bravest" anymore. I read the information on the 2nd version of "Around the World with 80 Dollars" at CCT, and it didn't mention anything about that MV; it only mentioned the three previous MVs, and a behind the scene clip of Twins during their Taiwan times. Wait a sec...... that couldn't be the MV for it, could it? Just a few clips pasted from here and there, and we have a MV? Geez, I hope not. That'd be so cheesy. Let's just hope that their schedule isn't cleared up well enough for them to film, and they'll film later like for 'A Story From texa$'.

Yeah, that's what I thought when I heard Gillian say that. So different yet so much the same, eh? I can just imagine how Gillian's there to fulfill the title of Twins, then she disappears off while Charlene does her comedic entertaining, and whenever there's fighting needed, Gillian comes out to save the day. Storyline explained. This just proves that Mani's statement about Gillian having to lose thirty pounds for the film was just something to get Charlene off the hook about her rumours. If they're twins who are completely different, why would Gillian have the need to lose thirty pounds to look similar to Charlene? Uh huh.

Speaking of Kenny, I just read an interview of his today. He mentioned that he had actually punched Steven in the face because he was so mad at him during a dispute between them during the times of Boy'Z. See? Even the best of friends have their fights, and Kenny treated Steven as a little brother while Steven respected Kenny as a big brother. Kenny said he was sure there was someone who betrayed them about this incident because the media actually found out about this by the next day when no outsider other than the EEG staff was at the salon they were at when the fight occurred; Kenny said that he was just cautious of their career as Boy'Z that he couldn't accept of what was happening with Steven. Kenny was confronted by EEG afterwards, but Mani's settlement with this wasn't exactly fair and effective because she told Kenny, "Even if you're going to hit him, don't hit him in the face." Uh, isn't hitting anyone anywhere still a bad thing?


I don't know; they didn't mention too much about their cantonese album. I guess it's because they're still promoting their mandarin one right now. I really anticipating on the ones that they produced themselves, especially Gillian's solo ballad!!!! It'd be alright if Gillian isn't quite done with her solo production yet since that at least means she's taking time on it. Hopefully, during her ballad, she'll be able to exceed her limits since she'll be in charge of herself, and she'll be able to explore her own abilities. Time does fly; before we know it, their cantonese album will be out, and we'll be listening to what Gillian and Charlene can do of producing. Then we'll be discussing about the outcomes and such and such. We'll probably do some discussion about the Twins film, and whether it'll be typical again. Wow..this is a surprise. Gillian earned more than Charlene for more than two years already? I mean from a report I read saying how Charlene gets paid more than Gillian and how she had so much more movies than Gillian, it's really a surprise Gillian is still able to climb higher on the ladder than Charlene...Imagine if EEG haven't put any restrictions/limitations on Gillian and it's a fair play between Charlene and Gillian.... EEG is really dumb, can't believe they are still able to earn so much profits with their bad decision makings.....



I remember Twins having a duet with Joey before...Charlene was singing the first part, the kid stage and Gillian was middle, I guess the teenage or adult stage, and Joey sang the last part, old stage. I listened to it like a long time ago but for some reason, this songs seemed to be saying like "Joey and Charlene's voice is very versatile" because Gillian were singing at the "normal" range, not very noticeable change. i don't know how to explain but just I guess not able to shine as much as the other two.

They sang the same song in the 2006 concert but Ah Lam sang Joey's part instead. I thought in the live verison of this song, Gillian and Ah Lam's part shone the most. Gillian's part was delievered beautifully while I felt like Charlene had a little struggle trying to sing in the kiddish voice so when Gillian picked up, the level of satisfation increased.



I guess, for someone illustrate or alter their voice to compliment the song, they need a good amount of understanding and recongition for the song. Gillian probably had used a lot of time to grasp the song and practice on her own time (EEG likes to rush their artist) before she recorded the song. I'm glad that the audience like us are able to appreciate the hard work Gillian put in and enjoy it.

Yeah, I remember seeing reports of how Charlene has a higher salary for films as well, but Gillian just somehow pulls through with a bigger amount as a grand total. But it also meant more taxes for her to pay as well. I actually don't see what they mean by Charlene having a higher film salary than Gillian because on a magazine report, it said that Charlene received one million for 'A Chinese Tall Story', and so did Gillian for 'House Of Fury'. They both earned one million for a film starring them. Behind the set, things are better for Gillian than when Twins just started out. I remember reading a magazine referring to Twins' salaries back in 2002 - 2003, and Gillian actually used to receive less of the proportion of jobs that were distributed to Twins; now they at least split the money evenly. If it's a fair play between Gillian and Charlene, then I'd imagine Gillian would be even more ahead in the game, at least in terms of the salary. She would've had much more film offers now and a higher film salary if she actually got to do all those films that were offered to her but rejected by EEG.

EDIT: Never mind, I figured out the film salary thing. Those films were of 2005, and I think their new salaries apply to the year of 2006, and the years before they get a raise again.


Yeah, I've heard that song of Twins and Joey before as well, but it wasn't really a normal song since Joey and Charlene didn't sing their normal tunes. I'd anticipate on a ballad where they all sang in their normal voices instead of Charlene singing as a kid voice and Joey as a man voice. Gillian was just singing normally because there really wasn't a distinct way of portraying a teenager stage, so it's more or less just singing normally.

The majority of projects EEG rejects on Gillian's behalf are large productions like Abnormal Beauty that gained quite a remarkable box office next to Beyond Our Ken. Who knows which other important breakthrough roles EEG has denied for Gillian's sake. I'm just surprised and proud that Gillian's total income ranked higher than Sa's despite all of the obstacles against her success.

I couldn't have worded it better. The relationship between Gillian and Sa is much more business-like than anything. Both Twins are at competition with each other but they have to stick onto one another for support and popularity in the ET industry. Outside the ET boundaries, we rarely hear or see Gillian and Sa hang out with each other. Gillian usually chooses to spend time with Yumiko and Joey whereas Sa has her own circle of friends like Yu Chiu and Niki.

Not to stereotype Sa fans but this type of rude incident has happened several times now, it's becoming quite ridiculous. That fan probably believed that announcing her loyalty towards Sa would indicate that Gillian is the less loved or favored Twin but come on now, it just makes Sa look horrible for having such immature and impulsive fans. I wonder if Sa still shook her hand after that attention craving shout against Gillian. If I were Sa, I would be like, "Hey, Gillian is my partner regardless, you should at least respect her." I think standing up for Gillian wouldn't dent Sa's favoritism, Sa shaking that fan's hand afterwards just rewards that fan for being a complete idiot. Gillian is widely loved but unfortunately, some dumb fans just love to pester her.

Yup, I dread this upcoming Twins film. Gillian's character is always underdeveloped but yet, somehow saves the day. Mani obviously publically didn't hide her favoritism towards Sa there when she overly exaggerated about Gillian's weight, placing Gillian in such a humiliating position.

Anything Kenny and Sa does is cute and harmless to Mani. At least men in general directly confront each other so less damage is done but girls on the other hand love to gossip, betray, and manipulate situations into their favor so the wounds are deeper and more complex.

I'm so excited for Gillian. This summer has been nothing but great moments for Gillian, the KG live duet, the Andy invitation, Gillian's solo being quite popular, and her new Cantonese ballad that will be released in just a few months; oh yeah, the Twins film too but I would probably flood this thread with complaints like usual. Hopefully, the final editors allow Gillian to challenge herself with this anticipated ballad.

My initial response to this ignorant fan's uncivilized attitude was to use fire against fire, say the same exact thing to Sa as well BUT why? It's really not Sa's fault that she has some extremely rude and immature fans but hopefully, Sa didn't reward that fan by shaking her hand. Oh, the Joey-Gillian-Sa version wasn't that great but when Twins sang it with Ah Lam at the concert, Gillian's voice was amazing! It was even better than the CD version itself. Eh, I hate it when Sa fakes her voice, it's irritating so I didn't enjoy Sa's verse. I thought Joey and Sa should have switched parts since Sa has the deeper vocals, it would have been a bit more convincing being an elderly instead of sounding a bit scary like how Joey portrayed it.

True. I love how you worded it. Gillian is one of those who are reluctant to change just to impress and elevate the social ladder but ironically, Gillian is most admirable for her honest deeds.

Exactly, there's still some kind of barrier between Gillian and Charlene because of the existing competition. During work purposes, they don't have other choices but to lean on each other. Even their friends are separate outside of business purposes. A magazine caught that after a function in Taiwan one time that Gillian went to hang out with Kristy Zhang while Charlene just left to go back to the hotel. We've already heard of Gillian hanging out with Yumiko, but unforunately Gillian was penalized for doing that. I get the feeling that Gillian is more closely knitted with Yumiko and Joey rather than Charlene. Gillian and Yumiko lived together before they became artistes, and we can see how Gillian sticks by Joey and how Joey is so supportive towards Gillian. Disputes are so ironic between Gillian and Charlene, meaning the ones that don't even concern them directly. It's like how Gillian is friends with Jade Kwan, and Charlene is friends with Niki, and Jade and Niki were in this big competition earlier because of how their manager favours Niki while publicly criticizing Jade. (It is ironic if Gillian is friends with Jade, but I don't really hear anything about it. It's just someone from Baidu listed Jade down when someone asked for a list of Gillian's friends.)

Yeah, you have a point there. Mani is lenient on Kenny and Charlene, especially Charlene, but she's ready to pick at Steven and Gillian if anything happens among them with Kenny and Charlene. I know; sometimes hanging out with guys is a much more enjoyable thing to do than with girls. With girls, you can talked about more detailed things because they pay more attention, but the grudges also hold more rigidly because of that. Guys just lay things out flat, just as Kenny and Steven did. They were mad at each other for a bit after the fight, but they're still good buddies right now. It's still pretty crazy that they were fighting about a girl, Maggie Fu. Anyway, a side note, EEG is definitely mooching off of Steven's popularity for Isabella. In Isabella's new CD, not only will there be a film starring Steven attached with it, but it also contains a solo song by Steven which he composed. See? Steven has popularity, and they know it, but they just don't want to use it to his own benefit. Steven was invited to a function to sing solo; you'd think they'd invite Kenny as a solo artiste or Boy'Z as a whole if Steven didn't have the popularity, but they invited him alone.

Hopefully, things will get better and better for Gillian. She'll get more chances to shine without setbacks. The best thing would be that the KG live duet is aired soon, Gillian is actually allowed to participate in an Andy film, Gillian being able to sing her solo live somewhere and officially gain some recognition for it, and her cantonese ballad will let her break the criticisms of how she can't sing. I hope her composing will be great as well so that she doesn't have to labelled as just a pretty face. Then if luck comes on, her solo will be plugged, and she'll be able to pocket a few awards with it........ Man, I'm starting to delude with all my wishful thinking I just hope Gillian will be able to jump out of her limits in singing and challenge herself to show her potential in singing.

It's also ironic as well, Sa seems to be friends with Gillian's so called rivals like Yu Chiu and Niki, who is good buddies with Bobo, all have been linked with Edison rumors. During earlier functions, you could totally sense the awkwardness among these ladies when they glance pass each other so there is definitely something fishy going on, not just the media's exaggeration or imagination. I mean, it's odd. Gillian, Bobo, Yu Chiu, and Niki can't even manage to be in the same room together without one or the other leaving due to the tension but Sa is supposedly friends with both sides? Steven's own solo song is featured in Isabella's new album? That's insane. Steven is quite popular even after Boy'z's disbandment but due to Mani's rigid controlling mania, Steven is the most unfortunate one of all. I agree, if Steven wasn't that strong solo, he wouldn't have been invited to sing solo, not as the newly reformed Boy'z.

Anyway, I completed Na Zha and Zi Wei's music video last night. Here's a short explanation.
