autumn_snow_genesis #23: I agree with your observations. Around the World With 80 Dollars hasn't been the most exciting nor promising album. The only songs I actually enjoy listening to even with an open mind are: I Really Want to Love Him, You're the Bravest, and Gillian's solo, What Day is Today. Though, Gillian's solo's melody isn't as catchy but the solo immediately becomes quite addictive when Gillian begins the song. As for You're the Bravest, I find this song to be much more memorable and emotional than I Really Want to Love Him because it revolves around a pure type of love, not the puppy love triangle Korean dramas usually dwell upon, it does become a bit annoying too especially knowing how Twins ended up just choosing each other, which in reality, is the complete opposite. I've mentioned this several times already but friends should be happy for each other no matter what. Seems like one has to fight for their love, force it from others, or limit their feelings in I Really Want To Love You, which love is supposed to be a beautiful thing, not a forbidden situation. You're the Bravest explores a deeper level of love, it could either be a close friend, family member, or simply a loved one who is about to exit one's life into a bigger world, how frightening yet exciting for that person and sad but glad for the other.
jelly_bean: Gillian has been shining brightly even without all of the grand opportunities, I'm sure, Andy won't let Gillian slip away without a decent collaboration. Andy seems like a business man more than anything, even though he can be biased at times. Gillian has been quite hot in the market, her spark won't fade away soon, she has only begun, people in general have been waiting for Gillian to finally break out from her shell. Despite her limited roles, Andy knows that a collaboration with Gillian may gain him as many awards as it did with Cecilia. Not only will Andy help expose Gillian to more mature and serious roles but Gillian herself is also benefitting Andy as well by introducing a new genre to the audience, creating a unique film different from the rest Andy has collaborated before.
EDnGILL-theBEST!: I wish Edison would support and back Gillian up like in the past; perhaps, Edison could knock some senses into that Sa fan who humiliated Gillian.
dimsumfoods: Aw, thanks. I would have to second that, I want to thank Little_Purple_Bell for maintaining the most recent updates about Gillian on this thread, without her, we all would be lost and wouldn't have grown so big in such a short amount of time.

I brought the second verison of Around The World with 80 Dollars on Sunday, and I saw the DVD of the making of I Really Want to Love Him and the part where that guy kissed Gillian matched in the MV...they should took out Charlene crying part and put in the kissing part though it was a camera trick, but then it would match the MV even more cause after that he goes eating Charlene ice-cream..though the MV was done and it came out.
I know. I love that kissing scene. I guess, like usual, they love to abandon Gillian's serious scenes that would have clarified a lot within the music video.QUOTE(Little_Purple_Bell @ Jul 5 2006 7 09 PM)
We really haven't heard any news on the supposed collaboration of Gillian and Andy; I just hope this request doesn't just fade out of the picture because of who knows what happened behind the scenes.
Either way, whether or not Gillian lands herself on a role in a film with Andy, I think 'Let's Steal Together' is going to be the only film for Gillian this year. After Gillian's hit with '49 Days', why would EEG let Gillian have another chance at shining again in the same year to deepen the good impression, in which a collaboration with Andy is a definite chance to shine for anyone, if Twins wasn't part of the deal as a whole? If anything at all for Gillian, it'd probably be at least next year; that is if she's given a chance or not.
Sometimes I think Gillian would do better solo as well. Gillian just somehow gives her best performances while performing solo. It's a good thing that she's been given a few solo opportunities because it really has helped her notice what her flaws in singing are, and it led to her improvements, like how she is aware to stretch her ending notes out further and longer now instead of letting them go so soon as she used to.
Anyway, I can't wait to see the latest JSG! This episode of JSG is based on the FIFA World Cup with the singers singing songs in relation to the event, and they all dressed up in the jersey of the team that they supported, and they played games and competed as each of the two teams, France and Portugal. A fan from CCT mentioned that while Charlene was kicking the soccer ball, Gillian and Kenny were in the back goofing off with the scoreboard; they kept flipping the numbers sheets up, so their own team ended up 'winning 2 : 24'.
I heard it was really cute, so I want to see it!
Some fans also mentioned that Gillian and Charlene seemed to have been in some kind of dispute at the beginning, something about them not standing by each other and not even talking to each other; Gillian mostly hung around Yumiko while Charlene stood by Deep and Kenny.
Perhaps the fans were just a bit sensitive on that because another fan mentioned that Gillian and Charlene were talking to Wilfred Lau together in the end, and they stood by each other.
Hm, I already hate Twins films and especially when this upcoming film revolves around a love triangle, my polly, how exciting. Sometimes I think Gillian would do better solo as well. Yup. Can't express it enough. It's not that I only love Gillian and wish to disband Twins; boy, I wished I had the power though *evil laugh* but Gillian overall just sounds so much more alive solo. Her voice completely elevates the simple song into a beautiful masterpiece. Oh, I love Gillian's solo live performances and those weren't even my favorite Twins songs either. I bet if Gillian sang some of Twins' more recognized and loved songs solo like Kite and Wind and now, You're the Bravest, Gillian would no doubt fully recover from that throat injury that caused her pain and her confidence. Gillian is slowly regaining that energy and confidence she lost a while ago. Go Gillian~
Kenny totally brings the silly side out of Gillian. Gillian normally doens't fool around much publically since she has a high level of respect for others but this time, with Kenny, Gillian just allows herself to relax and have fun while attending her duty as a role model at functions.
Anyway, I applaud Gillian for singing vibratos in some recent live performances even though, I personally think that Twins' Mandarin songs weren't the best to use vibratos because if you follow along, you'll detect that the notes and lyrics are too short to produce good vibratos, at the most, only small beginning vibratos which end a few seconds later, not too important nor appealing. In the recorded versions, the vibratos sound nice but in live performances, it's quite difficult to produce such quick vibratos that end quite early too so I must say, Gillian did a great job at attempting vibratos in her live performances even though, it was more of a strain than a beautiful contribution to the song.

Yes I'm saving the pictures right now, and since my computer is slow it's going to take awhile to upload the pics. I don't think the Gillian+Charlene not talking is true. Because in the pics they were standing together. Gillian was standing next to Kenny,Don,Deep..etc (with boys only) and Charlene was standing next to Yumiko,Stephaine,Renee (girls only). Seem like Gill is with the boys and Charlene is with the girls. Which team were they on? Frace or Portugal? Since they was blue and the other team was yellow.
Aww that's soo cute! Gillian and Kenny changing their score to 24 right? Lol! Here's some pictures.
Perhaps Gillian and Sa were not on good terms in the beginning of the event but had to rejoin later for pictures since they were on the same team right? Anyway, seems like Gillian had a blast and that is all that matters.Aww that's soo cute! Gillian and Kenny changing their score to 24 right? Lol! Here's some pictures.
Thanks for the pictures. Gillian just brightens up everything.
Go Gillian~
