I hope Gillian would have more films for us next year, this year hasn't been Gillian's most efficient year to expose her most recent acting abilities. Hopefully, Gillian would portray an emotionally dramatic role with Andy and an extremely sassy character with someone else younger so that we as fans will watch two different genres with a completely different cast.

There are plenty of Kenny and Gillian fans out there, don't worry. That one KC fan made it seem as though KC fans only exist but I think that situation was blown out of proportions, a bit exaggerated. Of course, I'm not denying that there are KC fans but there are just as much support for KG as well but Gillian fans in general don't support Gillian by bashing others.

Gillian and Kenny should release their own personal behind the scenes DVD if they were ever to release an album together, I totally agree with that idea. The special DVD should contain clips of when Gillian and Kenny first paired together, their dancing practices, their activities together, and their interactions. It would be so sweet. If Gillian was to carry her own camcord as an extra gift to Twins fans, Sa would have a portion of it too.

Gillian speaks excellent English for someone who has never really resided in the States, even better than some short-termed foreign exchange students. Yeah, perhaps Gillian needs to practice speaking English everyday so that her speech would be much more normal and smoother. I hope, the best has yet to come for Gillian. If it's Gillian, it doesn't matter how long, I'll be willing to wait.

Some people criticize Gillian as being too quiet, too slow when answering questions, and too slow when speaking but I say, Gillian's voice is soothing because she doesn't rush herself, she answers each question sincerly so she has to search for an honest response close at heart, and she doesn't waver with time, but Gillian is simply Gillian.

I love these two description in particular. Dessert is what ends every meal; Gillian is the best for last. And that last phrase was absolutely beautiful. Family, the one term that has encouraged Gillian all these years in the ET industry. Gillian never once complained when she was being treated unfairly, being criticized for horrible acting, being hated for bad live singing, didn't utter a sound when her throat was injured and bled internally, never once thought selfishly but instead, Gillian rose her head up high, looked at the bright sunrise every morning, looked herself in the mirror, and smiled for a new day. I can truly say, a person with a heart so pure and determined like Gillian only appears once in a century or perhaps a millenium. I'm thankful and blessed to have known such a person like Gillian exists nearby.

I agree with all of you guys by saying that moving targets was indeed rushed. It seemed like wong jing had so many ideas yet so little time but he was just unwilling to let go of some of those ideas, creating a story plot that turned out to be rushed and squished together…but I also agree that the EG scenes were so worth watching the movie for although I really wished that they had more scenes together.

asillysaint , although I do agree with you that gillian should explore all possible acting roles, I believe that I’d love her best in more mature roles. It would be awfully nice for gill to show her drama queen side, but I feel that she would do best in serious, meaningful movies or romance movies or thrillers. I also love the idea of gillian working with people like tony, andy, takeshi…especially takeshi since I think that he has such a good screen presence plus he’s really good-looking. i think that they would make a pretty cute couple onscreen kinda like how daniel wu and her were.



great news! amendments have already been made to the script of Let’s Steal Together and production has already begun, so that means that this movie is on schedule and won’t be delayed by much time! It seems like gillian has plenty of action scenes since she’s been working on her stunts since the first day of production. Yay gillian! it sounds like gillian will have plenty of screentime kicking butts in this movie and hopefully this is true! i'm so excited for this movie to come out, hopefully it will be out by the end of this year. And from the sound of this article, it seems to me like the movie is modern since they're saying that jason plays a policeman...but who knows? Production of 《双子神偷》 Let's Steal Together has begun in mid July. Gillian Chung and Charlene Choi are playing twin sisters who are thieves and who do not have the same look. Gillian Chung, who has to handle a series of action scenes since the first day of the shoot, is worried that she might have difficulties dealing with them since she didn't have time to prepare for the action scenes beforehand due to her busy schedule. While Gillian Chung and Charlene Choi regret not being able to work with Tian Liang, they're glad to work with martial arts stars Sammo Hung and Wu Jing. On Friday, July 14, Wu Jing's managers Paco Wong and Syllina went to meet him on the set of Let's Steal Together in Guangzhou. Firstly, they had some discussions with the producer and director as Wu Jing is always very serious about each work he does, and would want to find out what the director requires of him, and coupled with his grasp of his role, hopes to deliver his best. Quite a few of the crew members have worked with Wu Jing before. Wu Jing plays a police who is assigned to the task to recover a stolen artifact. The production will stay in Guangzhou till end of July, after that, it will move location to Shenzhen for a month, and finally moving back to Hong Kong before wrapping up. Yeah KG should release their album. Alot of us would be happy but alot of us won't be happy (KC fans) vice versa. Guess what you guys? I just downloaded the 'Music On Fire' concert I skimmed through it to see if they included 'Conscience Discovery' and it did! I'm so happy! =D At first when I was skipping through it, I saw Kenny's performance, so it made me think that they cut it out, so I continued to skip through it a bit more and they showed it! Yay! Okay, I'm off to go watch it now. =D

I agree about Gillian best at portraying serious and dramatic roles but because HK has never really seen Gillian in a full comedic, sassy, and spoiled role, Gillian has only portrayed bits and pieces as Twins, I hope that Gillian will receive a chance to expose her witty and adorable side as well as an emotionally disturbed individual in a thriller. But whichever genre or character Gillian portrays, I hope her the best.

I do hope that Gillian will have an opportunity to be enlightened by other great actors such as Takeshi, Andy, Tony etc. in future collaborations.

That's true. HK just loves those roles that allow the actress to be jumping all over the place and blabbing anything that comes to mind; I suppose it's because of how the general HK likes relaxing while watching something comedic, and those roles are usually comedic effects. I'd like to see Gillian in one of those roles, just for the sake of trying something new. Gillian doesn't always have to be the silent and calm one, for we know very well that she has an energetic and funny side of herself as well. She surprised many people including her own friends with the chatty role she had on a radio drama; it's the 36 tricks one. That was also just an audio portrayal; imagine Gillian on-screen as a chatty girl who would go as far as doing a little manipulating to get her ways. That would definitely be refreshing to see. Gillian expressed that even some of her non-showbiz friends were doubting whether it was really she who was portraying that part in the radio drama because the character was such a motormouth. I agree of how people need to look in more to how the character is structured before planting any criticisms down. Personally, I don't think there's much to express or show if your character is just a quiet one. It's not like the portrayer can bring on anything vibrant and exciting when a calm and silent character is on hand; if that were to happen, the actor would just be criticized of exaggerating. On the other hand, he'd still be criticized for being wooden if he were to just show a calm face during every scene.

Gillian is criticized for her bad acting because the films of her brief and pointless characters were taken into account. Frankly speaking, if we were just to count the roles that Gillian actually had a meaningful role to the plot in, her acting wouldn't be considered bad at all. In her early films, she didn't have anymore than an extra role. With a role that didn't have much to display, would it be fair to say it's bad acting automatically? If in her upcoming serial, a drama of which Gillian had a decently detailed character and scenes that allowed her display her acting in, her acting came out bad, then Gillian can certainly be challenged about her acting, but so far, the trailer and comments of her co-star sure doesn't tell us anything about her acting being bad; of course, we still need to see the entire portrayal to make a good judgement. It seems like Gillian can always find better chances to show her ability audibly rather than visually. In radio dramas, Gillian actually gets different characters to act out, whether it be bubbly(36 Tricks), troubled by love (Very Love), or plain weird (First Kiss At Dawn). If only she were granted those chances on-screen. The author of 'First Kiss At Dawn' expressed on the last pages of the novel that he believes Gillian could've done much more with her character if this novel was made into a film instead of just a radio drama; he was quite impressed with her portrayal as the weird runaway bride.


Kenny and Isabella's duet genre might have been influenced since they were singing for a video game, with all the action and such. I do hope that Kenny and Gillian could do more together musically as well. Their voices are quite compatible together, so why waste a good collaboration? It's hard for Kenny to find duet partners, but Gillian suits the criteria.

Yes, I liked the MV, but I admit that I expected more. From finding what they filmed that day for the MV, I was hoping for much more than what came out in the final product. The fruit scene, pillow fight, and Gillian throwing a temper tantrum was extremely cute and sweet, but so much more happened. It'd be great if they personally received a copy of the deleted scenes, then maybe they can distribute it online for us to see. It would be quite a sight to see either of them being drunk. We can see how silly they can become! It was definitely great that Kenny and Gillian at least had a blast working together that day. The news even said that they were fooling around with each other the whole time. Like after Gillian explained her crying scene, she immediately went off laughing with Kenny again.

It seems like EEG is unwilling to invest into anything that involves Gillian. Anything involving involving Gillian but not Twins, that is. EEG should really try a Kenny+Gillian duo; it's more than likely going to be a better hit than Don+Mandy. Think of it if the pairing of KG actually received promotions, they would've been through the roof already. They could be just as popular as the Alex+Stephy pairing.

Yeah, Andy looked so funny when saying that. It was so random as well; they were presenting the award, and then Andy just squinted and expressed that Gillian was really pretty that night. It'd be great if Andy could offer help to Gillian with her acting opportunities; hopefully, the chance will come.

Hearing Gillian speak more is great relief. How much would one think we enjoyed those interviews where Gillian was just standing there nodding in? It'd be great if Gillian was more aware of things now; she can't possibly be used forever. She's got to exist and be there for herself and her own benefits sometimes, and it's hardly selfish, seeing the past history.


Personally, I'd support the idea about KG releasing an album together and that we get to see things that happen off-screen with them. KG are already so cute on-screen, so who knows how cute they get off-screen? A bit of history review about the pairing of KG would be awesome!


Yeah, I noticed that Gillian was a bit shaky at the beginning as well. No surprise, I highly doubt that Twins have been practicing any other songs but those four main plug songs recently. That day was probably the first time they practised that song. They had to sing this song because it's the themesong of the tea that they're promoting at that function.

Well, Gillian has been out of the country before. She was in Australia studying before, but her English is pretty good. Thanks for the magazine photos! Gillian looks great in that outfit; she should dress like that more often.

Two pieces of good news!
1. 49 Days won an award at a film festival in Japan!
2. I just watched Kenny and Gillian's performance of 'Conscience Discovery'. They didn't cut it out!!! A disappointment is they didn't hold hands. They were still pretty cute near the end of their performance together. Both of them were tempting to burst out in laughter for some reason when they were looking at each other near the end of the song, so they just quickly turned back to the audience. The audience was supportive of the duet; they sang along, and there was lots of cheering. As for their singing, both Kenny and Gillian sounded a bit shaky at the beginning of the song, but they got better as the song progressed, and their synchronizing during a live performance was just as great! I wonder why Kenny called Gillian 'Ah Giu' in Cantonese when he was technically supposed to call her 'Ah Jiao' in Mandarin? Anyway, I'm going to go watch the rest of the concert now; I've just been repeating the duet ever since I finished downloading it.

Gah, I'm dying, just waiting to watch the clip as well. Perhaps it's a large file so the uploaders have to edit the clip.

Hopefully, lilsleepyhead916 can give us some feedback and reviews before we actually watch the clip, just to ease some excitement while downloading. I love Gillian's witty responses! Even though sometimes Gillian takes some time to think about her answers, but it always make more sense and brillant. What's the difference if the artist doesn't think and starts right off babbling? I agree. If I were a reporter, I wouldn't mind waiting for a teeny moment longer if I was going to get a much higher quality answer than if the artiste answered right away yet with some bizarre answer. I like how Gillian organizes her words out before she says them.

'49 Days' got this award: 日本福岡電視節大獎. I'm not sure what this award means.

After watching it for Nth time, I caught a quiet mumble of Gillian's while the host was introducing KG's duet. I heard her say, 'First time singing it.....', quietly. She looked a bit nervous too. Actually the host didn't really let Kenny nor Gillian speak about their duet, Kenny tried to say, 'Hope everyone will like it.', but he was drowned out by the host as well. It makes me wonder whether they got to practise it beforehand or not based on what Gillian said. Hats off to them if this performance is really a first time ever thing; they were still able to synchronize with each other's voices, even though they were shaky on their solo parts at first. I believe there's a part at the end where they rushed at the chorus, so Gillian had to drag her solo line out to get back with the beat. Nevertheless, I think this was an acceptable performance, considering they haven't sung it before; I doubt any huge practising, if any, was done anyway.

I cut the part of the duet out into a smaller clip and uploaded it since this is the main thing we've been anticipating on for that whole concert.

Oh...thanks for the clip! I notice Kenny seemed so serious and a little nervous during the whole song and I can't help laughing even though I shouldn't because he must be extremely nervous It wasn't until it was over before he could break into a relieved smile I dunno if you guys catch this but at about 1:49, I thought Gillian ended the note/word (?) a little too fast or something but it didn't come out that smoothly. It was when she sang "bao" but other then that I didn't catch any audible flaws except like Little_Purple_Bell said, a little shaky in the beginning Oh...I think they did a good job anyways (with a few minor flaws) since it's their first live performance and if they really didn't practice before hand, that's a really good performance!

about the award received by '49 Days', i've asked my mother to translate it and she said it was some award based on SMS votes in Japan. this is such great news! this just proves that even a low budgeted film can gain recognition by fans and be popular with excellent casts and crew.

according to the son of one of my father's collegue who works in Genting, the tickets for the Twins concert have been sold out (i'm not sure if it's true but i do hope my dad's not pulling my leg). luckily i've bought the tickets beforehand! but my seat is quite a distance from the stage.anyway, i'm so excited! this is the first time i will be able to go to a concert!

personally, i think gillian can brush up on her acting if given the opportunities. About gillian going into the Hollywood industry, i most certainly want to see that glorious day, but it most certainly is a long journey to go. several set backs are her height (i'm sorry, but i think she lacks the height and in functions, she's sometimes quite overshadowed), the "RESTRICTIONS", the proper roles, and coming back to square one, her acting skills. it's not that her acting is bad, it's just that it somehow does not reach that pro level yet. and it's all thanks to the restrictions.

i don't really like the idea of the Andy film collaboration.i hope it might be someone else instead. Tony Leung Chiu Wai, maybe, because i don't like Andy's desires/ ideas to star with simply every girl. by the way, it kind of bothers me that andy and sa have collaborated before and gillian comes in second. it will degrade gillian even more! (this is just my honest opinion, sorry!)

I agree Gill was kinda shaky (and Kenny) in the beginning but as the song progressed, they didn't disappoint me. In this performance both did a good job but there are times Gillian sounded abit off and rushed. Also sometimes she didn't extend the notes long enough. But from the recent performance we can see she has improved in that area so I would love it if KG could do their duet again at the Genting concert. That would be awesome.

Despite some small flaws, I think both did a great job singing live considering it was their first time. When Twins first sang live, they weren't that great either and they didn't sync well either. It's quite hard for a girl and a guy to sync like this.

I completely agree. If You Care and Happy Go Lucky were Gillian's only lead roles before Beyond Our Ken and other decent films but even then, we all know that Happy Go Lucky wasn't such a typical mainstream film. Seriously, Gillian just needs to portray better and beefier roles, that's all. Just because people in general have never seen Gillian portray such a sassy and bubbly role alone or an intensely dramatic and emotional role, people think they can just bash Gillian, pre-judging from her previous roles, but really, how can you predict how Gillian is going to perform in her next films when Gillian or any person will constantly make improvements with each new opportunity to expand their acting abilities. Ever since the beginning, Gillian has never received any decent opportunities to make major improvements with memorable roles, Gillian had to literally work her way up with such small minor roles that people easily just brush off due to such a short importance and duration and also such crappy films to begin off with. I'm actually glad that Gillian was bold enough to portray such a touching role in Happy Go Lucky when everyone and Gillian herself was aware that it may not have been as accepted without a love story involved. And Gillian was surely aware as well that she wasn't the most loved nor appreciated actress to do so at that time, to risk her acting career participating in such a non-HK film.

Whoever says Gillian doesn't invest enough emotions in her songs perhaps may be biased, honestly. When Gillian sings, her eyes glitter with tears, projecting out every emotion for that song in particular so I really have no idea how some people cannot sense those emotions. Anyway, it would be great if those radio dramas were turned into actual films. Personally, radio dramas and dubbing voices for films or cartoons etc. are much more difficult than acting and needs more appreciation than this. When dubbing or acting solely through the voice, your voice has to be extremely convincing to channel out accurate emotions for each scene. Because you can't use your facial expressions to help you portray out the character's frustration, sorrow, or happiness, your voice must adapt to conveying every type of emotion. If Gillian is already surprisingly convincing in audible radio versions, perhaps Gillian would share a better understanding and picture if Gillian was to portray the characters visually. Gillian may favor and enjoy those type of roles in particular so her portrayals were successful and that should be a hint for directors.

That's great news. Um, wasn't this the Japanese event the director was referring to, about inviting the entire cast to Japan to enjoy the award with him? Hopefully, Gillian will attend, just for the pleasure of it.

The performance:
I agree, both Kenny and Gillian were quite nervous resulting in a shaky beginning but immediately, when Gillian and Kenny joined, their voices somehow just synchronized so beautifully. I knew that both Gillian and Kenny can sang quite well solo but I wasn't too sure how their live duet will turn out to be but I have to say, this live duet surprised me and seriously, both performed a wonderful live duet together. I completely applaud and give them my full support after listening to how well both voices blended; the duet was so pure and clam even though like everyone said, seemed as though the song in some portions was a bit rushed but as for the overall quality is concerned, absolutely tear jerking just hearing how high every note Gillian reached, how balanced both voices aligned together, and just an amazing performance in conclusion. This is one of Gillian's best live performances for this year along with Gillian's gameshow duet with Alan. I'm not sure if it's Gillian's voice that harmonizes so mesmerizingly with other artists different from when Sa in Twins songs in general but I feel that Gillian's true voice is revealed in duets so that's why I have enjoyed Gillian's duets more than Twins' live performances this year even though Gillian sounds just as breath taking in Twins' Mandarin ballads and fast songs. I'm sure that since this is Kenny and Gillian's first live performance together, both will discover their minor mistakes and improve for later events. I'm anticipating to hear improvements soon.

Gillian's voice is much more solid now. I'm glad that Gillian has been doing so well in Twins songs and in duets with others, just comes to show how versatile and lovely Gillian's voice truly is. Gosh, I'm still so excited, having re-watched the clip repeatedly for several times now. The crowd was extremely supportive, singing along and audibly screaming Gillian's name in so many directions and ways. Gosh, Kenny and Gillian just totally blew me away; as a fan, I never really expected them to sing this well together for their first live collaboration but man, this live duet just left me speechless.

I agree. Gillian's acting abilities haven't been fully polished mainly due to her restrictions other elements mixed in. If only Gillian received much beefier roles that will extendedly challenge her acting potential, Gillian will have a chance to explore and advance in no time. It's like that one cliche of a sailor, from my vague memory, it goes somewhere along the lines of, if a sailor doesn't encounter waves and storms, how is he supposed to make a good sailor? That is Gillian's exact situation. Gillian's boat hasn't been challenged with the crashing waves and natural storms of the sea yet so she hasn't fully discovered which way to pioneer her boat, acting abilities. Hopefully, soon though.

Andy is of course not the best choice but out from everyone, Andy would be that bridge for Gillian to cross over to another horizon of her acting career, abilities, and experience. I know, Sa fans would probably find every reason to bash Gillian as having seen Sa with Andy, now Gillian wishes to grab that spotlight as well but that's absolutely NOT true at all. Andy is the one who personally and out of nowhere invited Gillian for a collaboration, not Gillian and Gillian absolutely doesn't need a boost from Andy either, Gillian has been doing perfectly fine. If Gillian is comfortable enough with Andy despite all negativities, then I support her decision for better or worse.

umm. what you mean by saying Gill doesnt have personality. she does have it, it may not show all at one, but you take your time and study her, she is the normal person like us. I think it quite rude for you to say she doesnt have personality like that. Gill is human too, she is shy at first when she doesnt know anybody. That is normal for anybody, but if she get to know them, Gill can be fun and loud as she can be too. Just look at the picture of her recently with Steven, she look all happy and joke around.

Thank you so much! In the beginning like you mentioned I heard Gillian say "Its our first time singing". Look at Kenny singing made me laugh. Like all of you said before Gillian sounded nervous and shaky but got back on track. It was funny at the end when they started to wear towards each other and Kenny shook his head alittle and made Gillian laugh. Gillian looks short compare to Kenny. Lol.

Edited: Watching it the second time, I realized that Gillian went high on some note.. the "hin lay su" that part, she went a bit higher than the CD verison. But still, I'm still laughing at the way Kenny holds his mic and sing.

Yeah, I noticed that too; Gillian sang each ending note higher than the CD version. I'm so proud of Gillian for challenging herself so successfully.

I guess, Kenny was more nervous than Gillian, that's why he didn't even break a smile until later like bluehearts stated but I sort of felt sorry for Kenny, a lot of fans were screaming Gillian's name left and right but we could barely hear Kenny's name in the crowd, that must have added a bit more pressure on Kenny; he wasn't quite sure how well the audience was accepting the live duet. Oh well, the crowd audibly sang the along, that should be enough assurance that they loved the live duet just as much as we do.

I think that person meant that even though Gillian doesn't have the extremely bubbly and cute personality, Sa fans claim people so dearly love, Gillian has talents that compensate for everything. I don't think it was anything serious.

That is just straight-out ignorant to be bashing Gillian's fighting as not acting. I've seen those rude comments before as well. Gosh, some haters just find anything and everything to pull Gillian down.

Yeah, Kenny was pretty tensed up for the song. Gillian was nervous too, but she managed to get more relaxed as the song went on. Gillian should've smiled at him sooner! She gave this big, bright smile at Kenny as he was completing his last solo line, and he finally broke into a big smile as well. Then they joined together for the last line of which they were both smiling and relaxed. I thought the 'bao' came out alright; it sounded like that on the CD version too. For some reason, that word came out a little muffled even on CD.


Perhaps that's the reason of why EEG let Gillian do 'Happy-Go-Lucky'. They probably just let her do it because they know that the genre of the film in general won't be a threat since HK doesn't really accept storylines that deal with family relationships only. Well, Kent Cheng didn't exactly have the ambition to produce a film that was any big hit; he just wanted to produce a film that could give encouragement and support to the viewers, and he succeeded. 'Happy-Go-Lucky' is an extremely good film; the emotions and storyline are excellent. It's also great knowing that on the side, Kent Cheng was interested in seeing Gillian act and collaborating with her, so he decided that she was competent for the role of the blind girl and offered it to her. All we need to be aware of is Gillian expressed that she learned a lot about acting from participating in this film, and that's all that counts.

Gillian's emotions with her voice are excellent, whether it be speaking or singing. Singing, you've said it all; we can see, hear, and sense every emotion that Gillian tugs out as the lyrics come along. Listening to radio dramas by Gillian are great as well because you can always sense what she's trying to tell through her voice. It would be so nice if all those radio dramas...... hey, have you noticed how it's so easy for Gillian to get a leading role in radio dramas but so hard for her to do so in film? :blink Anyway, it'd be so nice if all those radio dramas could be made into films, especially 'Very Love'; I'd want 'Very Love' to be filmed according to the novel though. The radio drama version was so simplified while the novel was much more touching. Kenny's character did so much more for Gillian's character in the novel, and it makes it way more meaningful of why Gillian decided to choose Kenny in the end; the novel actually talked about how their dating life went instead of just ending it when she accepted him. Anyway, I definitely hope that Gillian's chances to shine with her portrayals won't be limited to just radio dramas. Hopefully, she'll receive a role of which she can express all her emotions through. Directors should take into consideration that Gillian is able to take on a bubbly role as well. Perhaps Gillian does the bubbly characters on radio so well because she herself is also bored of always being the quiet one, or maybe bored of being criticized of being wooden; therefore, she grabs onto every chance she has to show off her vibrant side, even if it's just through her voice. Hopefully, a vibrant role on-screen will come her way sometime.

I believe it's the same one that the director was referring to previously, but it's pretty far off from his statement, considering only Jess Zhang went from the whole cast.

I don't think that's Tao Hong. She looks a bit older than how Tao Hong looks. It doesn't really seem likely for Tao Hong to be being a host for TVB8 either.


I loved how their synchronizing went as well. Now we can be sure that the blending of their voices is natural and didn't require any technical help. I absolutely support them as duet couple; now I really think they should collaborate further in duets. I'll be more lenient about the little flaws since this is their first time performing this duet, and this is their first time cooperating with each other on-stage, meaning just the two of them and not counting the Boy'Z+Twins performances. Even with the flaws, as far as the synchronzing went, it was still great; Kenny's and Gillian's voices are so calming when they're together. It seems as though their voices together calms themselves as well. They were quite shaky during their beginning solo parts, but everything came together when their voices joined up. I enjoy Gillian's solos and duets more than her Twins songs as well. In Twins songs, her natural voice just isn't revealed as much as it is when collaborating in duets or in solo songs. Sometimes during Twins songs, it just sounds like something's tugging at her voice, and her voice doesn't expand as much as it should and could. Hopefully, Kenny and Gillian will be able to sing together live again; I'm sure they'll be able to give an even better performance together now that they've had this first time as a practice run to catch their mistakes on. Improvements will definitely be on the way if they were given the chance to be a duet couple.

I think duets are also a good way to train for versatility; Gillian already has a versatile voice to begin with, but I'd say she could use some practice to learn how to switch from one tone to another, just to have it smoother. Between duet couples, the female is usually the one who has to adjust her voice to suit her partner; hence, with collaborating with each different partner, Gillian could be sharpening up her skills on adjusting her voice for different people and tones. There are differences in how Gillian sings solo, with Charlene, with Kenny, and with Alan, but it does depend on the type of song too. At the moment, I think Kenny would be someone that Gillian should work with more often, for Gillian has to sing quite high when collaborating with Kenny. She could use some polishing on her high notes.

The duet was definitely well-supported. I suppose the duet is another one of those times when Gillian fans can distinctly support Gillian without bring criticized for not being united? I do wish they had screamed for Kenny as well; it felt like he was really left out with all the strong shouts for Gillian. The fans were pretty good with their yells since they only yelled during the plain music and didn't do anything but sing along during the actual lyrics. They also didn't waste any chance of screaming either; there was about a two second gap between the last chorus and the closing verse, but there was still screaming.


That's another highlight of watching Gillian sing live; she doesn't always remain on the same level of how she sang it on the CD. She actually challenges herself with more difficulty. That's why some live performances sound even better for her part than the CD version. A good example is 'Transformation Party'; I don't like that song very much, mostly for the tune, but I also didn't think Gillian did a very good job with her enthusiasm, yet her live performances of the song changed my mind. There's much more enthusiasm in her voice during the live performances unlike the dull CD version.

Yeah, the fans should've called out Kenny's name as well. I'm sure that gives a lot of assurance. Though I do agree that by the way the fans were singing along, both of them should get an idea that they're receiving acceptance. They sang along for all the parts, whether it be for Gillian's parts, Kenny's parts, or the parts where they join. I hope they personally know that they did a good job of collaborating with each other, so if they ever get another chance to perform together again, they won't be as nervous.

Do you guys think that Gillian could pair up with Steven in the film? I suddenly have an urge to see Gillian and Steven as a couple on-screen. Hopefully, Steven has a decent amount of screentime in the film. I don't want him to be appearing for five minutes and speaking one line as he did in 'Isabella'. Anyway, we have two males in the film now, WuJing and Steven, so does that call off the love triangle since they can each have a guy? Or will Steven just be a little sidekick while WuJing and Twins have a love triangle? If so, I'd rather it be Charlene and WuJing have a love story together while Gillian and Steven can be a pair of bickering friends as we guess if there's something romantic going on. Well, those are my guesses for the relationships. I'd be guessing that if Gillian and Charlene each get a guy, then it should be Gillian+Steven and Charlene+WuJing since Charlene usually gets the guy who has the bigger part, with TTE as an exception, but that was because of the role switching. I mean, EEG wouldn't be that nice to make Steven the leading man. They also wouldn't be asking WuJing to participate in the film if he had some little part in it either.

Anyway, this film's sure going on a low-profile. No photos of the characters or the setting has been revealed yet; we only know that the filming has begun because Gillian said she had to begin her fighting scenes on her first day of filming. Now, we're getting further information about it from Steven. Urgh, the working conditions don't sound promising. Dirty and hot? I wonder if Charlene's started her filming yet? Nothing's been really mentioned about her filming yet. Anyway, the producer, Tsui Siu Ming, has expressed that the majority of the crew from '49 Days' is taking part in 'Let's Steal Together', so maybe that's a little promising about the plot? Maybe Tsui Siu Ming asked for Steven's participation since he was part of '49 Days'. Come on, Steven fans must've contributed to some part of the good results. Anyway, Tsui Siu Ming said that he's celebrating with the '49 Days' crew for their receiving of the award when he gets back with the 'Let's Steal Together' crew; hopefully, Gillian and Steven will be there to celebrate as well. Hm, maybe I will watch the film if Gillian and Steven are a pair and if the plot turns out to be good.

Poor Gill, filming in summer is already bad, and she have to do all fighting scence is pretty intense. Add to all that crap, she HAVE to weight, i mean i think she already healthy. The person who should gain some weight is Char, she look mad skinny. Standing next to her, of course Gill look slightly chubby. Hong Kong or China is the only place want their actress or singer to be skinny, you don't see that over Korea or Japan, where most actress/singer look so healthy, not in the fat way. They look pink healthy and in good shape, look back at all HK actress/singer, they all nothing but bone cover in skin.
It pretty weir, up until now you don't see they reveal about the character like before. Why would they keep low-profile. we all know what coming. Char will have big role, the only thing im hoping for is that Gill have deep character and depht to that prove how good actress she can be. Maybe she doesnt have big role, but good enough to show all the hater out there her acting isnt "stift" at all.

Convincing acting mostly depends on how well one conveys the emotions through the eyes. Gillian's eyes are so pure, lonely, and lost, which probably explains why Gillian usually portrays silent and conservative roles. Some fans find Gillian to be a bland beauty with endless wooden expressions but personally, there's so much behind those deep round eyes; it's a pity that some are quick to judge and will never have enough patience to discover that. From Snow White in Happy Go Lucky to Mandy in Love On the Rocks, Gillian has never lost that beautiful innocence that makes her Gillian. I'm glad Gillian portrayed some memorable roles even if they weren't best credited, as long as Gillian enjoyed her diverse roles and acquired some insights from other veteran actors, that should be enough, I agree.

Oh, it's not. Surely looks and sounds like Tao Hong but I haven't watched the entire concert yet so perhaps from this angle in particular, the host just resembles Tao Hong a bit.

Kenny's voice is quite high to begin off with as well so Gillian had to sing her notes higher than usual live. If only Gillian was encouraged to sing vibratos alongside Kenny, Gillian would have extended out her notes a bit longer, creating a much smoother synchronization. Gillian sings beautifully deep with Alan, standard with Sa, and very high with Kenny; that's already good practice. But I concur as well that Gillian needs a bit more work on her high high notes; Gillian sounded a bit thin in some portions of the song so she needs to strengthen her grasp of those high ends. Nonetheless, Kenny and Gillian should be promoted together since we all know now that it's not such a tricky or difficult task for both to synchronize and perform live side by side, sensationally.

Isn't it funny how Gillian fans are quite considerate in general? They only cheer and scream for Gillian when music comes to play and resumes singing along when it's time too? There were a lot of fans yelling out Gillian; it's hilarious hearing one girl loudly scream out "Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh Giiiiiiiiillllllllllllllllllll!!!" So cute and supportive of them to do so.

Yeah, Gillian's voice truly comes to life during live performances. CD versions usually don't capture the essence of Gillian's lovely voice.

The audience was a great crowd despite a lot more Gillians than Kennys yelled out but at least Kenny smiled in satisfaction and enjoyment at the very end of the duet. Well, whenever Kenny sings even in solo live performances, Kenny just naturally tenses up and becomes dead serious so perhaps he was concentrating so much into duet, he didn't even have the energy to diverge his focus by noticing the amount of cheers. Yup, both performed so well together, another live collaboration is definitely in demand.

Hm, sounds like Steven is just a minor character, similar to his so called guest star character in 49 Days but because Steven shines the best with Gillian, Steven is again associated with Gillian to create that 49 Days team effect. Gosh, I dread a love triangle. If anything, I would rather prefer Sa and Steven to re-produce a Steven-Charlene pair like the olden days. Since both Steven-Charlene are known for their comedic attributes, they can be the funny couple while Wu Jing, who is a martial arts leader can be paired up with Gillian, who will be kicking butt as well. It just makes more sense that way.

Dirty and Hot? And intense fighting scenes too? Boy, good luck to everyone and especially Gillian. Well, I hope Tsui Siu Ming and his crew will fully support Gillian in this film and for the very first time, please help make a Twins film meaningful or at the least, enjoyable.

As much as I adore Steven-Gillian together onscreen because they have good chemistry but I find their chemistry to be of a sister-brotherly relationship as well. Perhaps the age gap that bothers me but I do hope we will be seeing a lot of Steven in this film even if he's not paired up with Gillian in a romantic relationship.

wow, this thread is big! it's nice to finally see kenny and gillian's duet...and congrats to 49 days for getting that award.

so steven's going to be in Let's Steal Together along with the majority of the cast from 49 Days? i wonder if stephen fung is gonna guest star as well? i don't really think that steven is going to be a love interest for gillian in this movie because as some of you have said, he's probably only going to guest star in this movie or be a love interest to ah sa. aznlotus and jelly_bean i totally agree with you guys because i don't think of gillian and steven as more than good friends so if they were an on-screen couple it would seem a little weird to me and jason would have the better chance of being a love match for gillian since they're the big fighters in this movie (sammo's too old). if jason were to be a love interest for gillian however, wouldn't that be a conflict of interest for him though since he plays a cop and she's a thief. i guess if he were, then the story would be that they are already a couple or they become a couple and he doesn't know that she's a thief (and maybe vice versa) but since he's looking for a stolen artifact all directions point to gillian and charlene and he might be forced to arrest her? i don't know that sounds kinda possible. and if that were the story then the ending would be kinda sad (or happy if jason doesn't arrest her and they become thieves/fugitives together). just a thought.

Yeah, that's most likely why Gillian sang in a high, high tone during the times when their voices were joined up. I agree that vibratos would've been a pleasant thing for us to hear along with their well-synchronized duet. Kenny and Gillian should definitely be promoted together as a duet couple; come on, as a record company, they should be making good use of voices that synchronize well together and create a hit. It's especially for this case since it's hard for Kenny's voice to find another voice that's suitable for duets. Gillian needs her practice on the extremely high notes anyway. If she sings with Kenny more, she could get her voice to be more solid. I'm sure Gillian will be able to accomplish that if given the chance. Perhaps we should make suggestions to EEG about this duet couple?

Hopefully, Tsui Siu Ming will be able to support both Gillian and Steven for this film, meaning that they will both get a good amount of screentime with meaningful characters; actually, I hope this film will be a good one generally with a good plot and less biasedness. Gillian and Steven did give sparks of chemistry during '49 Days', so hopefully they'll get some good scenes together in 'Let's Steal Together'. I just don't want a love triangle appearing in this film; it would be like rubbing it in Gillian's and our faces. I suppose that's exactly what EEG wants to do, eh? Your thoughts do make sense, but the only thing is that Charlene's character usually gets the more leading guy; that's what's making me think that there might be a criss-cross of the pairings. When I read that Steven was in the film, like everyone else, I thought his role wouldn't be that big I wish I am wrong though cause I want to see more of Steven. I think it's better if Gillian and Steven is going to be siblings or just friends in the film because I don't really feel that kind of chemistry between them. I really don't encourage the whole triangle love idea. What's there to encourage when Gillian might not even have such a signficant role or enough screentime to delevop upon to buy the sympathy of the audiences as much as Gillian tries her best to express it through the limited time or undelevoped character Gillian would probably had been one of the obstacles from having Charlene and the main male to be together if it's a love triangle...I just hope for once, Gillian is somehow able to get decent screentime in a Twins movie.

Gillian's probably sweating like a water fountain because of all the hard action scenes. Gillian seemed to always walk on the long road but I guess sometimes, shortcuts are too danger to cross The long way there is usually much safer even though it takes longer time and patiences.

I'm not sure if there's any techniques because mines aren't that good anyways..hmm...I think the best way is when both pictures are about the same, like the angle where the head is facing and so. I use the eraser tool a lot where I change the opacity to blend the two pictures better and the masking tool so I can go back at some point if I make a mistake. Yea...that's about it.

Talking about the water fountain again, I wonder what kind of clothing will they wear? Long sleeve? (gotta be kidding me) short sleeve?? (sounds more like it)

Do you guys remember the news about Gillian's picture for something nasty/bad in Japan? I think this is the ad thingy for it.

On the picture, someone from Twinsfans.net wrote "Japanese Gillian", so I'm guessing this is the ad, the one that Kenny said that he would look for when he went to Japan. Even though they used it for something bad, they chose a nice picture of Gillian to use =D.

Your storyline sounds quite interesting and possible but hm, Gillian already portrayed a similar situation in TE II with Jaycee, would it be as refreshing having a similar forbidden love?

Personally, a duet sounds best as two distinct voices join and expand on vibratos, stretching out into the music; sadly, Gillian wasn't granted the opportunity to sing vibratos with Kenny. Conscious Discovery is quite a challenging song considering all of the high notes in order to syncrhonize with Kenny's voice. Even though Twins' most recent Mandarin ballad, I Really Want To Love Him, contains some vibratos, vibratos weren't necessary due to the short amount of duration to deliver them but in Conscious Discovery, there was so much space to include vibratos on Gillian's part, what a pity, Gillian couldn't fully expand her voice in vibratos. Kenny would be a great partner for Gillian to better grip high notes and perhaps begin holding out her vibratos. Twins songs are too simplified for decent practice. Kenny and Gillian needs another duet. It would be refreshing and amazing to listen to another duet but perhaps a happier one? I can't imagine how well both Kenny and Gillian will synchronize in other music genres. Hm, I'm looking forward for a Nic-Gillian ballad as well or some type of collaboration at least because Nic's voice is deep like Alan's so Gillian can practice another shade of her versatile voice with Nic as Gillian tackles the standard notes with Sa in Twins songs.

Really? Even though Edison was hot in TE I and Wilson, so cute in TE II, they both appear to be second to Ekin and Jaycee in terms of importance; Ekin and Jaycee were lead characters but the thing about EMG productions in relation to Twins films is: EMG believes that they pretty much justify everything by pairing Gillian up with the lead guys AND concentrate the majority of the screentime on Sa and her partner but that doesn't cut it. I would rather see more of Gillian rather than Gillian receive the more important role like saving the day YET have her so called lead role fade out into the background as the film is flooded with Sa scenes. Why can't both Twins receive two similarly important roles and an equal amount of screentime to develop each of their characters? Why does everything have to be so complicated? So perhaps Jason and Gillian will pair up. I mean, just observing from previous Twins films, Gillian never interacted with Edison nor even shared a scene with Wilson whereas Sa only interacted with Ekin because they were siblings and the only time Sa shared scenes with Jaycee was when Gillian was present onscreen so rarely does Gillian get to know Sa's leading male in the film and Sa vice versa. If Jason is already filming with Gillian, perhaps he and Gillian are a pair while Steven is a guest star like usual and if that's the case, perhaps there is a dreading cheesy love triangle.

I don't know. I would love to see both Gillian and Steven get spared from the "biased treatment" but that's highly unlikely. I mean, both Steven and Gillian are supposedly Mani/EEG's most unfavored; combine both together and that's double hate right there.

The music video of I Really Want To Love Him was already enough disappointment and upset; please spare us, having to dread another biased love triangle but a longer version. I think I would actually cry not because of the film's sad love triangle but rather because it's so depressing watching Gillian's same old helpless dumb roles.

Anyway, I guess Kenny didn't want to take a picture with it afterall considering it was the center of attention, Kenny wouldn't want to get caught visiting those places.

I wonder if Kenny and Gillian could both give a shot at vibratos with their duet if given more chances to perform it? 'Conscience Discovery' would sound much better with vibratos because it's such a high-pitched song. Gillian could surely do much more with this duet, if only she would try expanding her voice more as she synchronizes with Kenny. Personally, I don't think Gillian has quite grasped vibratos in general yet; Twins have expressed that the way they sang 'I Really Want To Love Him' is based on how JJ Lin sang it in the demo version. The producer had requested for them follow along of JJ's portrayal, so I'm guessing that the only reason that ballad included a bit of vibratos is because JJ had included them in his version. So, I would hope for a song where Gillian could actually give intentions and fully expand to vibratos in the near future. I agree, I can't stress enough of how Gillian and Kenny need another duet together. With Kenny as a partner, Gillian can challenge herself more with the high notes and hopefully vibratos. That's why I sometimes don't like hearing Gillian do Twins songs; they're so simplified that Gillian sounds so compressed when singing them. When singing songs of other artistes or her own personal songs, Gillian lets her voice expand further than she ever did with Twins songs. Could they have a happier duet later on? Since duets usually do have some tearjerking theme? Maybe they can sing one that's purely about romance, and they don't get split up. They were split up in both of their duets. Anyway, I really think Kenny and Gillian are able to have a long way to go with their synchronizing in duets. A Nic+Gillian duet would be interesting as well; that way, Gillian can practise singing deep in Cantonese if she collaborates with Nic while Alan could take her somewhere with her deep notes in Mandarin.

Yeah, for TTE and TTE II, that was the case, but there are times like in 'Protégé de la Rose Noire' that Gillian doesn't get a love interest at all while Charlene gets the only leading guy. Regardless, in EMG's mind, the plot and the leading characters don't matter much, but just getting Charlene's character and her partner's relationship going is the key thing. I personally don't think it's that hard of a job to equalize parts between two actresses, importance and screentime. We rarely see this situation happen in other films. But of course, this is EMG we're talking about, right? Someone's always a first priority to them, despite it flips the whole film's quality around. I just hope things fall around differently this time as SunDream is involved. I'm quite sure that Gillian has a pretty good reputation with SunDream, but then there are obstacles like EMG, so the chances are a bit 50/50; I'll just listen for comments and reviews about the film when it comes out. If things are tried for equality, then I'll give it a shot. That's another typical thing of a Twins film; why don't Gillian and Charlene ever interact with each other's love interests? Like in TTE II, the four of them were travelling together, yet Gillian doesn't know Wilson at all basically. Perhaps Gillian's love interest is Jason since the two of them and Steven were in a scene together. Oh yeah, Charlene has started filming as well; both were in GuangZhou yesterday but rushed back to practise for the MOOV concert. I absolutely object to a love triangle. I do want more of Steven's presence in the film though. You're absolutely right about the double hate; Gillian and Steven have another thing in common now. They're both forced to lose weight. Maybe Steven is just a guest star, EMG would never in a million years offer Steven somewhat of a main role anyway. Unless he and Gillian are paired up, and they're going to be a pair of nobodies in the film together except when the day has to be saved because of the double hate. Well, hopefully that isn't the case. That'd be double depression for me then. Seeing Gillian go through that is already going to kill me; never mind about the doubling.

There doesn't seem to be an exact date for it yet; I've heard of it being August or September. Hopefully, EEG won't slack off on the promotion and quality of the album. I don't worry too much about the Best Group Gold Award, but it really depends on how they do on their upcoming album. No offense, but I don't think Soler would be able to race up to the Best Group Gold Award just yet since they were just newcomers last year. At17 could really have the potential to race up to Twins though.
