It breaks my heart imagining the sweet young Gillian watch her mom's presence fade away with another important person, someone who isn't her father. Seriously, Gillian had a lonely empty childhood. I'm listening to your version of Gillian's You're the Bravest and after reading this piece of information, it brought tears to my eyes. At such a young age, Gillian was already so sacrificial and understanding, always placing others in front of her own needs, wishes, and dreams. What makes my tears flow down faster is: Gillian loves her mom a whole lot; Gillian's entire career and life is dedicated to make her mom proud, happy, and comfortable BUT yet, Gillian and her mom are so distant from each other. It's like, Gillian is constantly giving, giving, and giving, YET never receives anything from her mother, as if Gillian's mom only has one daughter, not Gillian Chung, but Gillian's younger sister. I understand that Gillian's mom was quite young when she had Gillian, life didn't get any easier as Gillian's father passed away, and she had to make a living with limited education but Gillian doesn't deserve this cold shoulder treatment especially after all that Gillian has accomplished for her mother, Gillian deserves a sincere hug, a true mother-daughter relationship, not just an empty awkward relationship. I don't know but I've read a few articles indicating that Gillian and her mom are not on the best terms with each other ever since childhood up until now. I really feel sorry for Gillian, working so hard for someone who has never really treated her like family.

Alan was just too cute with his responses in relation to Gillian; Gillian's eyes not only electrocuted Alan but they also worked magic on Steven too. I love Alan; he's so open with his thoughts, he doesn't hold anything back just to impress others. It would have been awesome watching Alan-Gillian hold hands, Gillian rarely hold hands with anyone these days when performing live, even Kenny wasn't an exception. But wouldn't Alan's touch just produce more anxiety for Gillian? But then again, a grasp of Alan's hand may have assured Gillian and inspired her to sing in full force.

I agree with your theory. Answers that are rushed are usually the ones that have more mistakes. And whoever made up the rule of answering all questions within a 1-30 seconds gap? As far as I know, that rule doesn't exist so I'm not sure why people are so serious in criticizing Gillian for her so called slowness.

My mistake. I meant, the paper-rocks-scissors game, not the tic-tac-toe game, Gillian and that white cap fan, forgot her name, danced together. I applaud her. She's hilarious though, she brought a lot of laughs to Gillian as well.

Oh my, I didn't even notice there were subtitles for this show. They were so small and white, they didn't even catch my attention until you mentioned it. Well, not all subtitles are accurate. There have been some English words that have been given a Chinese meaning/characters that sounded similar before so I wouldn't be surprised if Alan did say honey but it was mistakened as huan ni. It's still sweet either way because it wasn't the actual word honey that made the entire phrase cute, but it was how Alan had said it, the tone was so sweet. I mean, both Alan and Xiao S love to use English as one of their main languages in this show so I'm not too sure if it was really huan ni like how the Chinese subtitles had written or if it was the English term, honey. Oh well, just Alan's flirtatious nature towards Gillian was enough, enough to see their lovely chemistry.

Like Gillforever89 had stated earlier, Jason will be portraying Twins in the film so one Jason is paired up with Jess while Twins duel over the other Jason in a cheesy love triangle. Whether Gillian is the main lead or not, nothing has been confirmed yet.

Yeah, MLK would be everything in one package. Independence, determination, jealousy, and nevertheless, MLK gets quite a few fighting scenes as well. It'd be great if Gillian gets a role close to MLK in the future.

Hm, the cast? Your casting sounds good, and I think Steven could be her brother. Her brother's so comedic; that character is my favourite next to MLK and WPSW. Perhaps Isabella could be her brother's love interest since her role in A Chinese Tall Story makes her look like she could be a leader of a gang. Don can be Lai Ming Tong, for the sake of Mandy being Ying Suet. I'm not about Lau Yin Yok though?

I understand that manips are really hard to do, especially when I don't think Gillian's and Michelle's face shapes are anywhere close to each others. It must've been hard to paste Gillian onto Michelle, so it's all good since you've tried.


That's really why Gillian felt much more closer to her grandfather and her aunt than her own mother; she was so shocked when her grandfather died, yet she still had to carry on with her work. It's been revealed by Mani that Gillian and her mother did have a barrier between them for the years, but as the years passed, Gillian had decided to communicate more by taking her mother and sister out more. Seriously, Gillian has done enough for her mother, you'd think her mother would be the one to try and communicate with her? But then I guess her mother would be scared to since she practically had no presence in Gillian's childhood and wouldn't sure of how Gillian felt about it. On the same interview, Gillian admitted that her mother wasn't very much involved with her childhood and other things, but by the time her mother tried to get involved, it was a bit too late because Gillian had already grown up a lot, had her own thoughts about things, and sought privacy. I guess it's all about wrong timing? It's still very admirable that Gillian would go through with the ET industry all because of her family. Perhaps things are better between them now since they are trying to get involved with each other more, but it's quite hard to catch up to lost time. I mean, childhood years are those years that people need their parents the most, and that part of Gillian's life has surely passed on a long time ago.


Gillian's eyes could probably electrocute anyone who looks at her. Come on, it just caused Alan and Steven to be goofing off after Gillian sends them a few 'looks'. Hopefully, Gillian will get to sing a duet with Alan or Kenny soon, adding on the holding hands part. It just adds to the hype! If it's going to be Alan or Kenny, I think holding hands would be reassuring; well, at least a grasp from Alan would, but Kenny's a bit more nervous than Gillian sometimes, or KG could be reassuring each other if they hold hand while singing. If it's someone that Gillian isn't familiar with, then it might put negative impact on the performance.

Her aunt? You mean the aunt who was mistakened to be Gillian's mother at an interview just before or during Twins' The Missing Piece/Twins 2006 Concert right? Sa's father was her guest and instead of Gillian's mother, Gillian's aunt was Gillian's support group. I was sort of puzzled when it was Gillian's aunt who stood by Gillian's side and not her mother but I guess, I can't blame Gillian's mother, she already moved on with life, with a new husband, and a new daughter a while ago; as for Gillian, even though children, no matter how old they are, they are still children to their parents and still need their parents' support, comfort, and love in their lives, I'm sure Gillian would do just fine without her mom's company; Gillian has made it this far without her, not having her by Gillian's side now and/or in the future would not make such a big difference. It's sad but that's life.

I'm waiting to see more solo live performances AND more live duets with Kenny and Alan! Holding hands is definitely going to make the crowd go wild! That's probably why it's nice that Gillian doesn't overabuse the holding hands thing because holding hands is something special, rarely does Gillian ever hold hands with her male partners so when Gillian actually does, it's surprisingly sweet and refreshing.

wow i never knew. with each new piece of information about gillian, more and more is revealed about her struggles, determination, and amazing strength. i never knew that she and mom never really got along...it must be hard and then her grandfather passed away. wow gill is one strong lady...it's a good thing her and her mom have a stronger relationship plus she still has her supportive aunt.

She does have a pretty rocky childhood. But I'm glad she got through it fine without her mother's full attention. I really admire Gillian's persistance. That quality makes her sooooo unique and special and easy to admire.

No, the one from the interview of the 2006 concert was Gillian's cousin. She explained that her mother didn't like appearing on-screen, so Gillian brought her cousin instead. It would've seemed more proper if Gillian's mother went instead since artistes usually bring one of their parents out to introduce to their fans, but I agree that her mother has pretty much moved on, and it's a personal preference to whether appearing on-screen or not. I agree that children will still somewhat need their parents regardless of age because everyone just has a fragile spot that only parents could mend, but Gillian has done without for a long time, so I suppose just keeping the connection is good enough in this situation? Such a rough life for this girl.

I know; it's kind of rare to see Gillian holding hands with a male partner, so that's why it's so anticipating. It's also quite amusing to see the audience go wild when artistes do something on the intimate side such as leaning, hugging, or holding hands. That happened during the 2004 Twins concert with the 'Never Changing Bad Habits' performance. The screaming was clearly heard.

Another KG duet needs to be produced. One: I want to see the above photo happening again. Two: I was looking at a Monday magazine, it was the issue released two weeks before Kenny's latest album did, and 'Conscience Discovery' is the only song from Kenny's MusicK album left on the ringtones page; every other song was gone. Actually, Kenny's section came off of the page altogether; 'Conscience Discovery' was shifted under the 'Twins' column.

Yeah, this song mostly has them both singing together. There are two verses along the middle where they sang separately. It's alright; it's another one of those songs that sound better as you listen to it a few more times. I guess it's about time that Twins come back for the HK fans with a Cantonese song; a summer song plugged just before summer's over. Hopefully, they're able to schedule for their album to release before summer's over. It'd be a bit weird to release an album with a summer theme in autumn. I remember they said they had the photoshoots for the album already; it was on an island, and they had bikini photos taken. Aw, you know what, guys? I think Gillian's curly hair is back again. There were photos taken yesterday of an autograph session, and her hair was tied up, but the ends looked curly.

Judging from the lyricist, it seems like none of the songs are composed of Twins themselves. So maybe this list is wrong, or maybe they aren't having solos/ self composed solos.

Also, someone from twinsfans.net said that they saw Twins new mv for their new song and that they were around a pool singing, eating ice cream/popsicles, and playing with water guns. So it seems like Twins new mv will be released soon.

Because of the hard work, Gillian's being recognized for her fighting and kung fu. Even though she wasn't as fast as Charlene in learning the moves, Gillian actually rise above Charlene. Was Gillian ever referred as the new generation action princess? I thought I had read something about it


Gillian's had always been pretty flexible. I remember like gillforever89 said, during the 3rd EEG anniversary, Gillian went pretty far. I wonder if the track running helped Gillian in any way to stay so flexible? I envy her and all those poeple who are so flexible...I mean I'm like still in my teens yet I feel pain if I bend so low like that for a few times...


I bet it would be such a meaningful song(s) if she put her thoughts, insights and experiences to write lyrics; With a nice melody, the song might be so touching and good! All that from the Death Curse? The film wasn't even a quarter as intense as Let's Steal Together and Gillian already suffered so many scars. I can't imagine how brusied and scarred Gillian's back will end up by the time filming wraps up.

Gillian is an extremely strong individual in all areas to be still standing so firmly despite all obstacles and challenges; I'm glad Gillian is still here for us like we're here for her.

Gillian's thoughts are so meaningful, so it'd be great if she could organize them into songs. Just think, a load of expressive insights on different situations of life being able to be promoted through the strings of music. People would be at first just listening for a song with good melody, but end up finding much more lessons being taught to them through the words. I mean, each quote that Gillian made from that interview could very well be a theme of its own and be arranged into several songs. I am completely supporting the idea of Gillian being able to set her own thoughts down and arrange them into lyrics; I'd also like to see how it is for her to compose her own tunes and melodies.


I hope this list is wrong as well; according to this list, there aren't any solos nor are there any self-composed/self-written songs by Gillian or Charlene. This list looks a bit fishy as well; why is half the album composed by Edward Chan / Charles Lee? I thought Twins said they wanted to work with more different composers and lyricists? I would like to believe that there are self-composed/self-written songs in this upcoming album since they did reveal it like that earlier. It would be highly unfair if they get us all hyped and happy about the solos and self-produced songs and end up not having any. But I guess this is EEG we're talking about, being unfair is practically one of their highest priorities.

Gillian said her mother is a shy type, but I'd say a mother wouldn't let shyness stand in the way of supporting her child. Well, at least that's how I would perceive it. Photos of her mother have been shown by the media before anyway, but I guess it's probably not too much of a difference. Gillian is a very strong person who has been able to stand on her own feet independently without all the exterior help for all those years, so a little wind wouldn't be able to knock her down. I'm glad Gillian's so persisting; with the conditions that she's in, if she were any less persisting, we wouldn't have a Gillian Chung here for us to look up to today.

It seems like your thoughts are drifting you away as well? It's a romantic description you've given about a simple photo. If only Kenny can really take Gillian away, a chance for her to spread her wings and fly. I wonder if Kenny will ever have the chance to actually kiss Gillian on the cheek?

I hope you're right about that. Even if Kenny and Gillian aren't able to come up with a duet album together, I would hope that they're able to create more duets together. Hopefully, there are plans for them.

I really don't think Gillian will be back with her straight hair until 'Let's Steal Together' has finished filming because Gillian has been filming the scenes so far with curly hair...I think the only reason Gillian had straight hair that day was because of the 'Pretty Cure' function they also had that day.

When there's meaning behind each word or the song as a whole, the song just sounds more beautiful. Some lyrics are just so empty because the lyricists aren't really composing or putting what they want to scream out to the world but just handing up "homework". So if Gillian really revolve her songs along each insight and themes, the songs would be so much more full of life especially if she could sing it too, to display her full protrayal!


I guess we can't do much but just be happy and glad when she does change her hair style and surprise us Curly hair isn't bad but yea....haha..that photo of Gillian looks so nice! I like her top...looks pretty nice!

LOL, these clips are very FUNNY! well Gillian sanged very well... i LOVE her voice... and Alan, it seems like he LOVES to mess with Gillian... well yeah, i don't think gillian's fans really knew about this thing, cuz if they did than gillian would of have even more fans... well gillian's side streched really long, wasn't that wide... while charlene's side was really wide, but not long...

That makes sense. The film already has Gillian with her curly hair, so it's only right if it lasts for the whole film; the audience probably wouldn't be that thrilled to see Gillian's hairstyle altering scene by scene. In that case, I hope they have a few more 'Pretty Cure' functions during the filming time. Then, Gillian can return to her straight hair for a decent time period. Her hair does look nice tied up instead of the usual half tied hairstyle. Gillian's finally wearing something that's lighter for the summer instead of being all wrapped up from top to bottom. She also looked a lot taller at this function since Charlene wore sandals while she wores high heels.

Yes, it's not too thrilling when you're listening to a song that doesn't make sense or doesn't have a meaning at all. Songs should either tell a story of its own or send a message out. I agree of how some lyricists just somewhat give up through a song and just stick words in here and there just so that matches the key and tune but not realizing that it doesn't do the lyrics any justice, in terms of meaning. Wouldn't it be nice if Gillian ever had the chance to release an album with songs that revolve around her insights of life? It would be really unique since the majority of songs usually revolve around romance. Gillian's emotions in portraying out songs are a definite anticipation!

I haven't been here for a while. Well, I've been here lurking around but haven't had time to reply whatsoever.

There's so much going on. I finally saw the clips where Twins was back on Alan Luo's variety show and she was doing the limbo. I know I'm a bit late.
I can't believe that she was able to do it when it was so low. I know I couldn't do it. She's just so flexible but I couldn't see part 2 or the part where Gillian was singing solo.
Anyways it was funny and hiliarious epecially how much Alan was making Gillian laugh so much. I just love that. Alan can bring out the goofy side of Gillian. She was laughing so much. I love it.!!!
By the way, those pictures of Gillian are awesome and so gorgeous. It's hot!

Aw, that sort of stinks. I think Gillian looks her best with straight long hair and now, not only do I have to bear watching a typical Twins film but with Gillian in curls. Hm, perhaps Gillian may appear better onscreen than in photos because in pictures, Gillian looks a bit worn out with curls but in motion like music videos and news clips, Gillian still looks as beautiful and as amazing as usual; Gillian's beauty was speechless in I Really Want to Love Him and You're the Bravest music videos even though, the curls didn't compliment Gillian's features as much as straight hair.

Hopefully, Gillian's hairstyle will finally make a change once the filming ends and it's time for Twins' new Cantonese album.

Wow, Gillian looks so refreshing and delightful. There seems to be this one person in particular who loves to criticize Gillian's figure as being chubby and I'm sure some of us know who I'm referring to but anyway, in this music video, it is clear that Gillian's figure is just as slim as Sa whether it be Gillian's arms, legs, or tummy area, Gillian is quite healthy and slender too.

Gillian does look extremely hot. The hair is bearable; at least the poofy curls aren't up in Gillian's face. But bad news, Gillian is probably stuck with curly hair throughout this entire year, it seems. This music video is part of their Cantonese album and Gillian still has curly hair; I'm afraid Gillian won't receive a break at all from her worn out curls!

In regards to the song, I love Gillian's energetic voice especially when Gillian goes quite high up in the notes. And I love Gillian's solo verses, so soothing and motivating. I love the close up shots of Gillian while she was singing her solo verse; Gillian's skin just shines. I love Gillian's oufit, Gillian should wear more of these layered tops, they really trace Gillian's nice figure. Can you guys see the difference? Gillian looks thin and really nice in the music video because she wore a cute revealing outfit versus Gillian's baggy outfit during the interview, Gillian looks a bit different; see, the different type of clothes make Gillian's body appear different, not necessarily due to the fact that this or that was heavily airbrushed.

Really? Am I the only one who enjoys this hairstyle on Gillian? It's new and different. It matches Gillian.

I think that Gillian has curly hair for this music video because it was most likely filmed a few weeks ago, judging from Charlene's straight hair. And during that time (and now), Gillian has been having curls. And judging from the pictures of the filming of 'Let's Steal Together' while Twins were doing the scene with the hippos and monkeys, it seems like Gillian's curls were much more 'non-curly'. It seemed like a good portion of her hair was straight, but just a little wavy, maybe from being permed? So let's say that they don't continue to recurl her hair and that they don't really do much to it but let it down, then for their future music videos and promotions for their upcoming cd, Gillian may have small wavy curls or may even have straight hair. Because I remember I heard that their album will be coming out around September to October. So if by then they are done filming for the movie, Gillian may be able to straighten her hair. In which I am REALLY hoping for, and I'm sure all of you guys are too.

Also, judging from the people they had in their music video, I'm guessing that this IS the TVB version of their music video. Because you know how sometimes TVB uses the original version of the music video instead of making their own. Because I remember I heard from interviews that Twins said that they filmed a music video for a song in their upcoming album in the beach. And seeing how Gillian said that the best place to listen to this song is the beach, I guess that there is another music video for this song. I'm hoping that if what I am guessing is correct, that for the EEG version of the music video, they actually have Twins playing more, unlike the TVB version, where they have the others playing more and Twins singing most of the time. I'm hoping that it will be kind of like the music video for 'Open Love, Secret Love, Tutoring Institute', where they are able to have fun and relax while filming.

I was hoping to see more of Gillian or Twins at least but this music video was like how you've stated, more concentrated on others. I can't wait to see and hear more about this upcoming Cantonese album; I prefer Twins singing Cantonese songs, their voices don't sound too foreign like when they sing Mandarin songs.

Yeah, hopefully this music video is just the TVB one and not the actual KTV. Hm, doesn't EEG usually have their EEG Logo on the music videos after the videos have been released on a DVD/VCD? I have to re-check on that because I'm not sure either.

Anyway, I have finally completed my Kenny-Gillian music video but due to some final touch ups, it's not yet ready. Hopefully, I'll have it uploaded on Youtube by tomorrow morning, Pacific Time.

Actually, what I meant was that sometimes TVB doesn't make their own music video for the song, sometimes they use the EEG version, but put their logos on it.

^^ Remember this song list that I posted up a few days ago? Well at twinsfans.net, a few members found the lyrics to 3 of Twins new songs in their upcoming album. And two of them are 热浪假期 and 奥云, the third song isn't listed on here. So I'm guessing that part of this list is correct. Hopefully part of it is wrong because I really want to listen to Gillian's solo, especially if they put in her self composed solo.

I believe the CD version of the song isn't released yet but you can try by ripping the music off the music video after converting the file. Hm, I'm not crazy for the song so I'll just wait for the actual release of each song.

Welcome to the Gillian Thread. The name of Twins' upcoming Cantonese album hasn't yet been released. Gillian's legs are perfectly fine, I agree.

I do too. I hope that the list is somehow incorrect and Gillian's solo ballad does exist; I've been anticipating Gillian's solo ballad for a while now so I'm super anxious to find out how Gillian will perform the song. If there isn't a Gillian solo, chances are I may skip this album over because Twins' songs haven't been the most entertaining songs lately; I only end up enjoying 2-3 songs from each album so good thing EEG successfully lures Twins fans with all of the extras.

Anyway, I'm so excited; my Twins album arrived with several old films I bought such as: Future Cops, Demoness From Thousand Years, Lavender, Home Sweet Home, and Flying Dagger. Oh boy, I love these films. I used to have them on video tape but now, they're in DVD. Gosh, I miss the old HK films.

Well, I don't have much to say about Twins' Around the World With 80 Dollars second edition since I've already expressed everything pages ago but all I have to say is: to have the actual album photos is worthwhile; Gillian is so gorgeous. The quality of the photo does determine a lot. I love the music videos; to have the music video so clear, Gillian's face is totally flawless, seriously.

Acutally I don't think they do because, the song "Around The World With 80 Dollars" was on the JSG chart and usually they would show the MV on Global Rhythm but they didn't because they didn't make a TVB verison. If you want to use EEG verisons you have to ask because thats why theres 2 verison of "Conscience Discovery"

Welcome to the Gillian thread. Thanks for the link. Seriously, photos do Gillian no justice. I mean, compare this photo to the video and Gillian looks 100 times better in motion, video clips than pictures. Of course, Gillian looks great in photos nonetheless but all I'm saying is: Gillian looks her best with long straight hair and in moving motion, not still photos.
