It's great to see Gillian feeling better and being able to smile.


This is just of the two DJs discussing about Gillian's issue; they're saying that the only reason that 'EasyFinder' is not scared of what's happening right now and is continuing to make copies is because there's no law established to stop them. Even if they know that it's wrong, but if they know that there's no punishment, then what harm is there for them to keep doing stuff like this? First they broke into Gigi Leung's room, then they searched through Justin Lo's garbage, now they've gone to the extreme of filming Gillian while she's changing. The DJs are expressing that this tabloid really knows how to slip through the cracks of the law; they don't print who specifically is responsible for the report, so if anything does go wrong, the most that can happen is to shut down the company but the people who are responsible can go right ahead of opening up another agency doing the exact same stuff, and no one can stop them. They've also mentioned that this editor who allowed Gillian's photos to be published is the exact same woman who allowed Carina's photos to be published years ago. This woman is still here wrecking people's lives even if that tabloid agency was shut down because of that; she just found another job and continued where she left off.


Thinking about that is so confusing. It would be really scary if what you think is true because then the possibility of them having photos of Charlene rises. A newspaper reported that they suspect the photos were taken from a window in the washroom which is located 7 feet from the floor now, meaning that it really might not be the closet that was hiding the camera. If Gillian's right side is the closet/wall, then the washroom can't possibly be there? Which does make it possible that the photos were shot from the other side. Argh, I really hope they figure this out soon because trying to think about this is driving me nuts!

I'm just one of many who are OUTRAGED over what happened to Gillian! Seeing her cry during the interview was just heartbreaking, because ALL of it was out of her control. I hope and know that Gillian will get past this and that she knows that she has the public's support as well as the entertainment industry. Keep fighting Gillian!

I am appalled that a lawsuit and complaints have not been able to stop this Easyfinder magazine from printing. I guess I dunno how the law works in HK, but I'm pretty sure that in the US, that you can immediately get a restraining order to stop print at least until the lawsuit is settled! Jennifer Aniston was secretly filmed in her own backyard sunbathing without her top on and some reporters was able to get the pics. She immediately sued and they were unable to publish the pics at least until the suit was over, and of course, Jen won the case and a settlement! How could that not be the same in HK? CRAZY and outrageous! and this magazine seems to be the DUMPS, how can it operate? Uh, going through Justin's trash and basically breaking in and ransacking Gigi's room (I thought this was SCARY, i mean Gigi goes back to her room and these 2 ppl run out of her room at her...but GILLIAN'S INCIDENT IS EVEN WORSE)! Then Entertainment Industry already seems to be in action like during the Carina Lau incident which raised a ruckus (and ritefully so). It should definately happen again for Gillian. Also, the laws for HK protecting people's privacy really needs to be strengthened. I mean if this happens to an artist and nothing happens, does that mean regular citizens could have their pics published and nothing would happen? If i was an HK citizen i would be extremely worried.

IMO, i really don't think the camera was able to capture that much of gillian changing. I mean think about it, if they did, would they really not PRINT it? i mean they consider it to be explosive news and if they had more revealing pics, they would definately put it out there. I saw the cover of the mag and it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. But even if that's all they had, it's still HORRIFIC for someone to go through that ordeal and it could scar someone for life. I wouldn't worry about Gillian's career at this point, clearly she is not in the wrong in this matter and in fact, this incident could strengthen her popularity, because she overwhelmingly has the public's support.

As for some of the comments that some of the artists didn't respond that strongly to the incident, I disagree with it in regards to Miriam, Gigi, Kelly (not too sure of the comments some of the other artists made). I dunno but when i read what they said, i thought it was more RESIGNATION or "mo loi" cuz they've been in the industry for a long time and the laws have not changed (not even after the carina lau incident) and with technology getting more and more advanced, making it easier to record and such things, it feels like these peeping incidents would never end. I mena like miriam said, what can they do??? change in a steel cage??

because they want to publish the photos first to test viewers of the magazine if they are interested. lets say they publish 1,000,000 copies. all 1,000,000 copies sold out. then they can publish whatever they have of gillian (hopefully none) on another 1,000,000 copies, and sell those out again. that doubles their profit. instead of publishing everything in the first 1,000,000 copies they can now sell 2,000,000 copies. and apparently, they are succeeding with this issue due to curiousity of the viewers. even if people are against this, they will still buy just to read up this bullshit to conversate about with friends and family. gossips has always been a trend of people's life ever since elementary school, and it gets bigger as you get older.

Yeah, I read the thread as well and some people don't realize that the complaint forms are actually the main priority in this fight against Easy Finder; the petition does make a difference too but not as much as the complaints. I mean, more important things take longer to complete right? So I guess, we can only urge others to keep returning these complaint forms and hopefully, when they said they did, we can only hope that they mean it. I'm going to get all of my friends' addresses and phone numbers and fill out these complaint forms myself since I don't really know when they would find the time to complete one; I have already notified a lot of my friends about this issue but since they're not really into the Asian ET industry nor Twins in particular, seems like they're not that eager to support so I'll just take the initiative to do them myself but of course, with their permission.

That sort of stinks, without the government's help, it's useless? I believe with all of these television stations, citizens in general, social support groups, and celebrities pushing the government, the government cannot easily ignore this issue. I'm glad to read up on more stars giving stronger feedback like Niki and that a lot of events are bound to happen in support of Gillian and on behalf of all stars in Asia. Wow, Carina's complaint accumulation didn't even exceed 1000? No wonder why the government threw out 10,000 and even laughed about it secretly. Well, Gillian's accumulated complaint forms have already surpassed the records in just a few days, which means, there is still hope that these complaint forms will reach up to the government's mocking mark. I mean, if we were to calculate the numbers, there are about 800-900 complaints filed daily, even if we all at once file a complaint, the workers probably won't count them all within a day or two so let's give them time to slowly and carefully count our complaints so that not even one is missing. We just need to keep urging others to please show their support, it's quite a simple forum actually thanks to your well informed instructions.

I am super thankful on Gillian's behalf that so many people are willing to protest in so many places in support of Gillian. Protesting and rioting are two effective methods to knock some sense into the government. Hopefully, the support for Gillian will only grow and grow as the days go by and this rascal will not get away this time around. I agree. I think the camera was placed in a angle that didn't catch much of Gillian. Honestly, if Easy Finder did capture better and much juicier photos of Gillian, they would not hesitate to publish them immediately but so far, no pictures too exposed have been revealed. Why? Because they obviously don't have them. God was on Gillian's side at least that even though low scums tried to make a porno video out of Gillian, the most they got were Gillian's face and shoulders and nothing more. But because it's Gillian, someone who rarely shows off any skin, having Gillian's name associated with such a dirty scandal, it intrigues perverts who have too often dreamed of Gillian in that way.

Really? Hm, I sort of view it differently. Easy Finder has never sympathized for anyone, they would publish the most extreme photos of Gillian to attract all sorts of viewers first. If they slowly release the less extreme to the most exposed photos of Gillian, by the time they get to the most exposed shots, the viewers and audience would somehow be immuned to it already and they wouldn't make as much profits but if they published the most extreme pictures first, seeing the severity of them, viewers will only increase with curiousity and the less exposed shots later on may be considered as extreme as the first ones even when they're not. Of course, they're not going to publish everything altogether, leave some for the imagination but also judging from the released photos, the camera angle wasn't placed in such a sensitive position to capture more than shoulders and face, enough to let us know that it is Gillian. I mean, when the photos of Carina came out, they were quite shockers compared to Gillian's. But anyway, this is just my theory and hopefully, Easy Finder doesn't have anymore photos to share.

I agree; people are more willing to do the petition because it takes less than a minute of their time. Again, convenience is what's eating away the support. The petition is a great kind of support, but really the complaints are what count towards the actual action that will be taken. It's not asking too much, is it? This issue doesn't only concern Gillian; it's going to concern a whole lot of other people if it isn't stopped now. Your idea is a good one; I'm sure the friends around us wouldn't be agreeing to filming someone changing without their permission, so it wouldn't hurt to send in a complaint on their behalf if they don't have a problem with it. Perhaps we should send one in for each of our family members as well. The complaints will count as long as each is from a different individual.

The government is powerful, but I do wonder if it really is THAT powerful? Powerful to the extent that they're able to ignore all these groups of protests INCLUDING the ET Industry? Woah. The HK government must have a lot more power on their hands than other places. Normally, governments would have to step out with their support when there are that many protests about an issue. Of course, I do hope that the way you see it is true because I really don't want more severe photos to be printed. God, please let those photos printed be the worst ones 'EasyFinder' has. Hm, now I'm thinking about the camera. Maybe the camera was held by someone and angled in from that high window. Everyone including Gillian and Charlene had at first thought the camera was a pinhole camera planted into the closet, but judging from the silver strip, it sounds impossible. The investigation in Malaysia also points out that it's more likely to be the window instead of the closet. The mirror idea still sounds possible to me. It could explain the silver strip, but then the photos could've been taken on the 19th instead of the 18th, which was when the photos of the concert were taken. Gillian could've worn the silver strip on the other side of her face the other night. Ah, I guess thinking about how it happened isn't really for us to do. Right now, I hope that the investigation goes smoothly in Malaysia, that there aren't more exposed photos of Gillian with 'EasyFinder', that there won't be a clip distributed, that the government will do something, and that Gillian will feel even better soon. Hopefully, more good news tomorrow.

it's a shame it happened in malaysia. i have met twins in person before during their last visit to malaysia to promote their movie few years back. i really like their song and their image. anyway, since it already happened, and hk goverment are not supportive, i just hope our malaysia part will do their job efficiently and malaysia's law will punish those behind this scandal.

i think it's horrible that people would take such pictures, it's even more sick that some magazine would print such pictures for sale. The Easy Finder magazine edition containing pictures of Canto-pop idol Gillian Chung Yan-tung changing her clothes has been classified as Class II indecent by the Obscene Articles Tribunal.

The interim Class II classification, which means the issue cannot be sold to anyone under 18, came as complaints about the publication doubled in a day to 1,726. Publisher Next Media has five days after receiving notice of the classification to seek a full hearing.

The Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority said it respected the interim ruling. Tela will not prosecute until a final classification has been issued.

The number of complaints leapt from 812 on Wednesday, surpassing the 1,656 and 1,650 lodged against two articles in Yes! magazine in 2004, and the 1,149 against Eastweek for featuring a nude actress on its cover.

Chung, of the top-selling Twins duo, is expected to return to Hong Kong today.

Investigations are continuing in Malaysia into how the hidden camera that took the pictures of Chung came to be placed in a dressing room at the Genting Arena of Stars.

The National Security Division of the Malaysian government said such action was against the law and it would investigate, seeking help from Interpol if necessary.

The star's record company, Emperor Entertainment Group, sent two staff members to Malaysia yesterday. The company has also sent two lawyers' letters to Next Media, but received no reply.

Lawyer Ong Chee Keng, chairman of Malaysia's Democratic Action Party and legal adviser of the party's Selangor state arm, said that he reported the case to police on Thursday along with five other party members.

"This is very much against women's rights and the government has to be strict about it," Mr Ong said. "Many overseas artistes perform here. If the government doesn't do anything, it's bad for our international image."

The Hong Kong Performing Artistes' Guild condemned the magazine and said existing laws were outdated. The organisation urged the government to protect the interests of artists and the public.

The case continued to draw public protests. Twins' fans petitioned Tela to take action, and the Hong Kong Women Development Association marched to the Tseung Kwan O headquarters of Next Media demanding an apology.

The Equal Opportunities Commission denounced the photographs of Chung as "an affront to women". It said the publication was clearly invasive and offensive.

The Obscene Articles Tribunal has classified the published photos of Canto pop singer Gillian Chung Yan-tung changing clothes during a Malaysian concert as "indecent," meaning the tabloid magazine Easy Finder may be fined up to HK$400,000 or its publisher jailed for up to 12 months.
The classification came as complaints continued to pour into the office of the Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority, reaching an all- time high of 1,726 by Friday.

The previous high was 1,656 complaints for an article printed by Yes magazine in February 2004. Yes was also responsible for the next highest, 1,650, for another article that appeared in the same issue.

Both articles had a "one" classification, meaning no action was taken. A "three" classification is the highest that can be issued.

TELA said the tribunal will send a letter to Easy Finder during the next five working days and that the magazine can ask for a full hearing.

Should it fail to respond, the tribunal will issue a final notice, followed by a penalty of up to HK$400,000 in fines and/or 12 months of imprisonment for a first conviction.

According to The Star newspaper, Malaysian police are also looking into the case as the pictures were allegedly taken in at dressing room at the Malaysian resort of Genting last week.

According to Malaysian law, violators of Privacy Ordinance Section 509 can be jailed for up to five years.

It is believed a representative of the Emperor Entertainment Group, which manages the singer, will be flying to Malaysia to assist inquiries.

Meanwhile, EEG artist management division director Mani Fok Man-hei called on the magazine to publish an open apology and surrender all pictures of the incident.

The magazine is believed to have sold about 12,000 copies containing the offending article compared with its normal circulation of 9,000.

"They [Easy Finder] have totally disregarded moral standards for the sake of sales," the Hong Kong Performing Artistes' Guild said.

Senior counsel Cheng Huan said under the Privacy Ordinance, Chung could sue the magazine and claim damages.

A coalition of 13 women's rights groups are now calling on the government to amend the privacy laws.

Association for the Advancement of Feminism spokesperson Tsang Gar-yin said the organization would continue to call for a boycott of the magazine until it apologizes.

Women's Rights Association spokeswoman Yolanda Ng Yuen-ping said members will spend early next week collecting signatures against the publication and for the amendment of Chapter 390 of Hong Kong's privacy law, which deals with obscene and indecent articles.

The Hong Kong Journalists' Association said the magazine does not only violate its own professional integrity but also personal privacy.

The Equal Opportunities Commission said the publication of the pictures is "an affront to women" and should not be tolerated.

"Although the case might not fall under Hong Kong's jurisdiction, it is still degrading to women. We expect the media to be more responsible and professional," said commission spokeswoman Mariana Law Po-chu.

A number of civil rights groups have said they will submit petitions to the Legislative Council next week.

Twins attended the TVB Kids Award 2006, and Gillian went. Is it still hot in Hong Kong because Gillian was covered up head to toe. Her hair was curly still. She had a smile on!

殷 明 偉 (I think it's the person responsible for both Carina and Gillian's cases) said that the pictures weren't taken at the place they performed and they didn't use any pinhole cameras. Appledaily said that the place where Gillian was getting changed on the day did not have cloth covering the windows and they invited a private investigator to confirm that the pictures weren't taken by a pinhole camera, pushing all the blame on the victim.

Isn't this the sort of stuff they reported in the article? I haven't read it, but wasn't Gillian saying something about the article reporting that she was just changing freely in front of everyone or something? So she's saying that what was reported in the article is true? What I don't understand is that if there was no cloth over the windows and this person didn't use a pinhole camera, but was simply taking the pictures through a window, then why are there black bits around the pictures. *shrugs*

No, ur mistaken. What they said in the article was that gillian when she was changing she wasnt afraid to show off her body to the public. The point is that she didnt know someone was filming her, the article put words that make her look cheap. She was changing after their concert was finished, she had no intent for someone to film her.
I dont care wat those EasyFinder peice of crap says, 1) there lying to save ur butts & 2) doesnt matter the situation, u cant take picture of people without there permission. If this was The States, they be sued faster they could even see it.

I believe Gillian was stating that 'EasyFinder' were making false statements. She wasn't changing freely infront of everyone; 'Easyfinder' at first stated that Gillian was changing in a public area with the door open. The truth is, Gillian was changing in a changing room with the door closed. Regardless, AppleDaily is simply lying to get 'EasyFinder' off the hook and putting the blame on the victim instead. Reason? Because both agencies have the same boss. Even if there wasn't anything covering the window, that doesn't give them the right to take photos through it either. Who would think that someone would climb seven feet from the ground to take photos of someone changing? The people from Genting have also stated that the window isn't see-through glass, but it was some kind of sanded glass so that it's blurry, and you can't see right through it. jellosnake has made great points; why should we believe a word that 'EasyFinder' and 'AppleDaily' say? We don't need to give them a single pinch of respect because they are despicable with their actions.

OMG I don't even want to say what I think about this whole incident. I wish it could just go away. I mean, good things, will probably come out of this whole thing, but at too much of a price. Mostly, what I want to say is mostly the whole "Those motherf*****r ba****ds should go to H*ll. Yeah. Whatever she did to deserve this. I'm not even gonna start. I support Twins and our Gillian FOREVER and I really hope she goes even farther in her already booming career.

Hey I think I kinda have a clue where the camera might be Cuz the sticker was originally on her left yet in the pics, it was on the right. So this means that it's a reflection right? And also, Charlene said that there were mirrors on the right and the left. So the camera should be on the mirror on the left and the pictures taken are actually reflections from the mirror on the right

After this incident, I can see that Gillian is very profession at what she does. Despite all the things happening to her, she is still able to continue with her performances and pratice with a smile. I read that she had to forcefully put that smile on, and that she is still very sad and suffering from lack of sleep. I hope she feel better soon, and good job to her.

hmm..i love the way she dress...it looks so relaxing..however..i hope one day she will put on a true smile that comes from her heart and things will go back to normal for her...

At first when I saw the first picture I thought it was Charlene, then I scolled down and I was like how come there's two Charlene in different hair style and outfit? Then I realized it was Gillian in the first pic! LOL... You never seen Gill in a mini skirt in that since lik 2005? I don't think that lipstick matches her. She should have used lipgloss like Charlene. Gillian outfit is nice! I love her hair really cute. Don't she look like Stephaine in the 12th picture I think? Charlene outfit is nice too expect the stockings don't match LOL

Thanks for the clip! Gillian sure did improve in her dancing. Is that a stuff animal clipped onto her shirt? Why did they clip that their? Looks funky when I see it actually, (not in pictures). If that wasn't their then her shirt will match better with the army mini skirt.
