Exactly. Gillian herself has already declared her wish to interact in intimate scenes, a further development of her acting abilities, and a worth while challenge but some fans can be quite stubborn. What is up with this whole obsession ordeal with Gillian's jade image? The fans are acting like Brokeback Mountain themselves, no wonder why they support Gillian kissing only Sa. Twisting of words eh, experienced that too many times, I'm immuned by now, lol.

That's one thing that bothers me quite a bit. It's safe to say that Sa began acting before Gillian; thus, having less restrictions but Isabella? The baby of EEG's family, portraying such a bold character in such a short amount of time? That is directly rubbing it in Gillian's face, honestly.

That's just a bit extreme to bash others just to compensate for Twins' lack of catchy songs. I love Twins, their songs, their image, almost everything about them but I can honestly say that their new released songs are disappointing. That's what I'm saying too, fans will most likely maintain Twins up in the charts due to idolism, not professionalism.

Non-Twins fans are unbiased and even they criticize Twins' current singing; that's just a visible indication to Twins and EEG, that something serious needs to be done, enough with this summer fun la la la genre and concentrate on a more serious aspect, emotional ballads. Twins are still popular but mainly due to their cute image, not necessarily their singing nor acting abilities. When one is asked to name a singer or actor, most likely, neither of Twins' names will come to mind. The split. Hopefully, soon. EEG should test the waters like always and plug Gillian's solo ballad this time around. I surely wouldn't mind that. Perhaps EEG is planning on splitting Don and Mandy soon too? The bad thing is as long as these fans exist, they will still be the strong excuse for the restrictions of Gillian. I have no idea why there is such a big deal with Gillian being a jade girl. As Twins, Gillian wears bikinis and other light clothing, so why can't she do the same when Gillian is in films alone? To my understanding of a jade girl, shouldn't a jade girl not show skin at all? It seems as though when Gillian expresses her wishes about jumping out of her boundaries, it means nothing. They are somehow able to ignore that fact and continue to dwell on the interview made when Gillian just started acting of her stating that she's not ready for kissing scenes, therefore Gillian should not kiss It's like hello, it's called maturing? I know the twisting of words happens a lot, but I somehow still feel annoyed when reading them; I always wonder why people have such energy to do something like that?

Yeah, Isabella just became an adult this year and the youngest in EEG, and she's already off doing bold roles. In contrast, Gillian is actually one of the older members of EEG; I believe it goes Joey, Nic, Kenny, Gillian? So we have Gillian as the fourth oldest member of EEG, and she's supposedly still the little girl? Even when using the fact of Charlene beginning acting before Gillian, thus less restrictions, is pushing it; it shouldn't even matter when someone has begun their acting career. There shouldn't be any restrictions unless the actress herself is refusing due to personal reasons or something, but not because her company isn't letting her. Then again, perhaps it's because EEG isn't seeing much of a progress with Isabella's singing, therefore giving her full gear into acting since she's actually being recognized in acting? I mean, they invested A LOT in her since she was 13, so it's only right to get back what they put in, right?

Yep, those fans were out bashing artistes who are rocking charts like Leo, Fiona, Kary, and especially Soft Hard. Soft Hard is because they are a threat to Twins for the group award. What do you expect though? Soft Hard goes way back, and they're making a comeback, so obviously there's going to be a hype. Adding to that is Twins' lack of catchy songs, so one could imagine how things would look. Fans sometimes just get blind when supporting their idol. I understand, but I also feel that they should really listen to the song closely first. Whether a song is catchy or not is not hard to distinguish. Twins' new genre is not quite working that well, and they are certainly not as catchy as their previous songs.

I know; why the heck are they still up with all the summer fun when summer is officially over? I don't know about anyone else, but I sure as heck don't really feel the mood to be listening to a song about how summer is awesome and lalala when autumn is obviously on its way and I'm being drowned in textbooks and assignments. The topic and genre of their songs should be aimed at one that wouldn't be limited by time and season. Some ballads would be a good choice, even fast songs would be alright as long as they have a rigid and serious topic about it. Both Twins need to pull away from the cute image; they need to be able to live on something other than cuteness, something that lasts longer. They need to prove that they can sing, and I'm not sure if these happy lala songs are going to help them that much.

I wouldn't mind them plugging a solo ballad of Gillian's either. I just hope that her solo would be of high quality unlike what we've been hearing. Perhaps Gillian's solo could be refreshing to the public and rock up some charts? I would want Gillian to write and compose her own songs because she would have the first hand understanding about it, and then performing it would be much more emotional. Though Gillian's writing has never been complimented, I still believe she has some great ideas based on the deep thoughts that she has. The form of her writing looks quite nice as well; I'd like to take a look at her notebook. With her composing her own songs, it would be original and not repeated. In the music industry, it's basically the same crew composing and writing the songs, so it's quite easy for things to get old after the same topic's been written by the same person. It's like Lin Xi who wrote two songs based on hatred; Kary's 'Loving You Turns Into Hating You' turned out to be a great hit to the public and on the charts, but Jolie Chan's 'Cannot Bear It Anymore', which came later, went on a great slide on the charts and faded quickly. When Gillian's given the chance to write her own songs, it will be solely based on what she thinks and feels, so it doesn't have to be compared and clashed with others. I wonder if she could make it by making an album that isn't based on romance? I know Andy did earlier, but there were people who didn't like the fact that there weren't any love songs. Hm, I guess I still want Gillian to sing love songs; her voice is so emotional and heartbreaking in love songs. Anyway, I just want to see a product of Gillian come out, whether it be composing or writing. Maybe EEG is planning to let Don and Mandy do their own things later on. Their duo has never been permanent, so I wouldn't be surprised. They can't always stick together, I guess.

I agree. Their songs are always composed by the same bunch of people, Edward Chan, Charles Lee, Ronald Ng etc. So wanting to hear something different and original from them is really difficult. However if the songs are composed/written by either Gillian or Charlene it would definitely give another feeling to them, and would probably also sound more original. As for Gillian making an album that isn't based on romance, I think it would be quite risky to do so, because alot of HK people seem to really like love songs judging by how half of the songs on the charts are about love. I too ain't very fond on their new songs, but neither am I on the songs of other HK artists. For these past few months none of the songs that have gotten the first place in JSG have impressed me like 'wow this song is so good'. Except for the one Khalil composed to Fiona, but it didn't get to the first place if my memory serves me right. I think compared to last year the quality of the new songs has kind of dropped. So I really hope there will be selfcomposed songs on the upcoming album which will surprise us and maybe also prove to other people that Twins have more to them than what they think.


I think it's weird when artists wear sunglasses indoors too. Maybe it's because they haven't put any makeup on and therefore need to hide their eyes with those? Gillian really needs a break through. As time passes, I really think that her share of Twins will be a threat to her career. EEG should give her somemore movies with a GOOD plot where she plays the main characters. We all know that Gillian isn' the type to give up easily and she will put her best effort into things. Like for example, she stayed so long on those ropes in the air to film for some movie when it started to hurt and get exhausting. Yes, people do criticize her for crying, but can they last that long on ropes in the air like that? And he career is quite stressful, not to mention she may have personal problems, little things add up and maybe that's why she started to cry, not only because of being hung up for so long.

I believe that if they give her a good role in a movie with a good plot that will be successful on the market then that will help her alot in her career. It doesn't necessary have to have kissing scenes, but they should restrict so much from her that will unable her to show her best effort. If the movie plot and the acting is good, then a kissing scene means nothing, because fans won't be remmbering the kissing scene as much as the storyline. Well, on Gillian's case, a kissing scene will be something big due to her restrictions.

I think that as along as Gillian stays in Twins, her career will be jeopardized in someway because fans/critics are constantly comparing the two. And as we all know it, Charlene is always granted with better things, she gets to act with big shots like Andy Lau, she gets alot of roles in movies that really do well in the market (a chinese tall story) she is always outshinining Gill. I'm not saying that all of it was just automatically given to her as she sits in a chair to read a book, don't get me wrong, she does take opportunities to obtain her position also. But without the extra boost of help here and there of good roles and stuff will she really have the confidence? Perhaps she will because she's more outspoken, if so then why couldn't they give those good roles with big shots in them to Gillian since Charlene is so well off?

I rememeber reading on some thread about Charlene fans COMPLAINING that they always give Charlene tube-like bathing suits while Gillian gets halter-like bathing suits. Their complaint was that tube-like suits gives off the illusion of a tiny bust while halter defines the bust more. It's right actually, halters to make your bust more prominent then tubes, but why can't they think about the fatc that Charlene gets better roles, better pairings in movies and all those other BIG opportunities. I don't know about you guys, but I rather see Gillian in a tube that hides her bust but she gets great opportunities to shine.

About the jade image thing, I think that if EEG promoted them both at the same time, and gave them their kissing scene at the same thing, then this whole "jade image" wouldn't occur. Yep, it is only for their Mandarin albums that they actually work with other composers. Because those composers that you've listed are the well-known ones, there are so many songs composed by them and sung by various artistes that it's not that refreshing anymore because it's going to be of a similar style. Sometimes, I find that the songs I feel appeal to me are those of which the composers don't frequently have products coming out; they compose songs once in a while, and when you listen to it, it actually feels original because you don't frequently hear stuff that's similar to it.

It seems like this year's music industry hasn't really compared to last year's. Last year, we had the newcomer big shots such as Justin, Janice, and Ivana, but it seems like they haven't been able to keep up with what they had been doing; even the veteran singers haven't been getting that far with singing. This year, there hasn't been a song that jumps right out and becomes very memorable for the majority, and there is usually at least one or two songs like that each year. I wonder if we can count on the next four months for the music industry to make a breakthrough? Hopefully, Twins will be able to prove something of themselves during this dark period of time of the music industry; self-composed and self-written songs would be a good start, but they've really got to make that their self-produced projects are of good quality before releasing it because if not, it'll just lead to more criticisms.

Well, artistes wear sunglasses when they don't have make up on or to cover up the dark circles around their eyes. Wearing sunglasses just seems to be some kind of custom for artistes; nearly every artiste wears them indoors.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that 'Summer Holidays' has gotten 1st place at JSG, so Twins will be appearing on the next JSG episode. Though I'm not interested in the song, but I am interested in the quality of their performance.



That's true. Charlene has been granted many grand opportunities with her acting career; I don't really mind about that, and it's great for her that she's getting all these chances, but I just wish that there isn't such a big contrast between Charlene's opportunities and Gillian's opportunities. I suppose that with things that aren't related with Twins, Gillian will be a direct threat to Charlene because they've shared so much of the same things; therefore, EEG has to come up with something to pull Charlene farther up the ladder when compared to Gillian, and that method is to offer her more chances. The lack of opportunities has once made Gillian have a very low self-esteem to her acting. I remember that when 'Moving Targets' was released, and Gillian was asked of how she feels the boxoffice rates will go for the film, and she actually said that she's afraid it's going to bad because every film she's been in has had bad results and she feels it's because she's in it. It's a good thing that 'Beyond Our Ken' came around the corner and boosted Gillian's confidence. Sheesh, how could Gillian blame herself for the failures of those films? Those films would've failed whether she was in it or not because the plots stink anyway.

Being outspoken or not has nothing to do with acting though. During the summer, a former veteran actor of TVB came overseas with his wife to do presentations at various churches regarding his son who died of leukemia, and even though he's so vibrant and versatile when you see him on-screen, he was actually a pretty conservative person who isn't very outspoken in real life, as I saw him. That's how there's no conflict between a person's real personality and their acting. Just as a side note, 'A Chinese Tall Story' didn't exactly do that well in the market; it was offered a really popular slot during Christmas time, but the results were only so-so for being in such a popular time period. It doesn't quite affect the decisions of EEG anyhow, so it doesn't matter that it didn't do well.

Yup, Charlene sure did get a lot of good opportunities. I'm also fine with that and I have no complain on that but what I have a problem with is how they don't give the same amount to Gillian. They don't have to give less to Charlene, just give more chances to Gillian so they would be on the same boat but as I know, that's the reason why Gillian doesn't receive half as much opportunities, because they don't want Gillian on par with Charlene...Quite sad..

Gillian shouldn't blame herself for the bad ratings because she doesn't even contribute much to the movie. Either she has a minor role or the plot is terrible so it's hard to get good ratings unless there's a big sponsor that would go out of way to help promote the film, that's another story...I would say that Gillian actually helped the film bring more viewers because of her popularity

I just finish watch 49days a couple of days ago..and gillian performance was extraordinary...i heard that gill was suppose to kiss stephen in that movie...like a kiss on the cheek r something..but why did they have to cut that part out?....it could be like a first step leading to her acting in intimate scenes....EEG really neads to give gillian more opportunities because we all know that gillian can do it if only she was given a chance...limiting everything will only slow down her career...

Seriously. Well, in the end, EEG is the ultimate judge on whether Gillian should embark upon intimate scenes or not whether fans support it or not; I mean, Gillian can't always please everyone anyway and I believe the age factor is enough to shut those complaining fans up if anything. Some fans usually make a huge fuss over a certain issue but when their idol actually does it, it no longer becomes a major issue, that's the same case here; EEG obviously is taking advantage of this situation. I mean, when did EEG care about Gillian that much, to listen to her fans? If they ever thought of Gillian's welfare, we wouldn't be sitting here complaining about the limited, restricted, and ungranted opportunities, every grand opportunity of Gillian's have been stolen of versus everyone else.

Finally, EEG decides to spice up Twins' music videos on a real beach/island but they're overabusing the whole idea. Almost three of Twins' new music videos are based on the beach-look, that gets irritating fast and especially when there is no plot to the music videos, just straight singing and camera angles on Twins, aiya, boring. Their songs aren't helping either. I have no idea what is knocking at EEG's door of ideas but surely seems like Twins are slowly sinking. I'm sorry but these fun songs won't expose anything; I believe emotional ballads are the most visible at showing Twins improvements and that is exactly where they need to target.

Gillian composing and writing her own entire album would be something quite different and highly anticipated. Well, even though love songs are so overdone but in a way, I would love to hear Gillian sing live about love; it would sound so beautiful. Gillian is a deep thinker, a deep singer, and especially a profound feeler, her emotions are just bursting with interesting stories of their own, which would be great to listen to in songs so everyone can get to know Gillian moreso on a personal level. Since everyone is so eager about Gillian Chung, always creating false rumors, taking secret snap shots of her, and always trying to get a piece of her, Gillian should definitely satisfy everyone's curiousity by producing an album based on her life, love, family, society, etc. That would be great.

Gillian has definitely matured on her own ever since EEG's threat of splitting up Twins. Gillian herself knows that each Twins has to fight one own's battle even though, Gillian has battling so many wars alone against the many labels, stereotypes, and biases that have stalled her career. Gillian is stronger now more than ever. I believe this does mark a good beginning for the solo Gillian Chung in the music industry and a bolder Gillian Chung in the acting industry. I agree. Filming in a movie with Jackie even as a cameo can gain a whole lot of media and spotlight, Sa has been casted alongside Jackie in how many films now? Even in Twins Effect I itself, Jackie was a guest star, but not once did Gillian's character meet Jackie's, it was only Sa. That is just plain weird. It's like they're purposely trying to cut Gillian out of the spotlight or something. As bad as Jackie is in the Hong Kong society, must admit, Jackie is still quite popular and adds a lot of exposure.

Don't even get me started about A Chinese Tall Story; it's just ridiculous to see the entire EEG family in that film YET Gillian has no part whatsoever. I'm not asking for Gillian to replace Sa's character or receive an equal part because that rarely ever happens anyway but Gillian could have been casted a simple role BUT that was never planned! Why? I don't care if the film did well or poor in its box office but the bottom line is, Gillian had nothing to film at that time, she just blankly stared at the entire EEG family disappear to film. Jackie's current film with Sa and Louis, Project BB or Robin Hood, whatever it is, is already entering film festivals, that's a lot of exposure already. In every single one of Gillian's films, it's actually Gillian who has to actively promote the films. As for Sa's films with big shots such as Andy, Jackie, or even Louis, that's like a free ride; there's not much to actively do when big names like theirs already have a well-established audience.

Anyway, I found that complaint to be quite off the wall? Complaints about bathing suits? Hm, that's no comparison to Gillian's main issues.

True. Is the Hong Kong music industry really ending? Come on, there are no new breakthroughs in terms of songs and artists; that's just plain sad.

Let's just say the whole Pang Brothers films still upset me. Allowing Sa and not Gillian is just directly saying, Gillian isn't yet qualified to participate in such a film yet. Anyway, that's so sad to hear about Gillian's comments on Moving Targets; you're right, those films would have failed with or without Gillian anyway; it was actually Gillian who helped boost the box office results if anything. Hopefully, Gillian's recent box office hits have assured her that she does have great potential in the acting industry.

When I saw this performance, well not on youtube anyways, it seemed like Gillian lost more weight since the last time she wore this outfit, which was not too long ago. Because the outfit looks much more loose on her than before, it looks like it is loose for Charlene too, but just not as much. The only thing I didn't like about this performance was around the end, when they have their little 'dance off', somehow, in this event, it looked kind of messy compared to usual.

And in the second video, OMG, I just loved the way Gillian waved and her little movement afterwards!! It was just so sweet and gentle!, when I first saw it, I had to go back and watch it once more...

That's why I think that the reason that EEG is using to restrict Gillian really isn't a reason at all. If they just let Gillian have a free choice of all the scripts offered to her, and if she happens to accept one that involves being intimate, once the film is finished and released, the fans can do nothing about it. It's 99% definite that the fans will then suck it up and accept a broader acting career for Gillian. For those who decide to leave Gillian because she was intimate on-screen, they are just plain weird, and Gillian wouldn't need people like that anyway. Seriously, a supposed 'fan' who supports her to be limited in her career? I'd say Gillian can do without. Bottom line is, letting Gillian go for intimate scenes is most definitely not going to kill her image, so that excuse is really just an excuse they're using with certain people who are actually supporting it.

I agree. Those MVs really don't bring anything out. If they're making all three MVs at the same place, then at least make it appealing. It's like trying to make less of an expense, but hiding that fact by presenting quality. Right now, the three MVs are just telling us that EEG was too lazy to go through any other trouble, so they decided to film everything at once. We could probably bear with it if the quality of the songs were good. It's like with the 'Lifesaver' MV; it was in some cartoon setting, but since the song is good, we can accept it. Fun songs, people will just regard it as fun songs; they aren't going to get compliments of how their singing has gotten better or what not. You're right of how emotional ballads are what shows talent and improvements. With the bright and happy songs, who's really going to be there to notice the singing?

Hey, that's a pretty good idea. An album based on Gillian's life? It'd be a positive way to expose things about herself without people digging into her privacy in vulgar ways. It'd be so awesome if an album made by Gillian herself was released, and people will be learning things about life through Gillian's thoughts through singing. As we all know, Gillian's life did have rocky edges to it, so I'm sure she has a lot of insights on things that are deeper than what we usually see. I know it is risky to not be basing an album on love songs, but Gillian could include love songs in it while slipping songs of other topics here and there. I just love albums that are produced by the singer personally. It's like Jewel Kilcher; her albums are all produced by herself, and each one is so good and meaningful along with her emotional singing. Her songs have topics of everything. Another good thing about being part of the production of your album is that you can always try new things at your own will.

Indeed that Gillian is much stronger now. Go take a look at that recent performance and interview that megazerox posted. Oh my gosh, somehow Gillian gives me this really different feeling. It didn't sound right to only say that she's matured since her smiles are still really cute and simple, and she still laughs naturally when something minor goes out of order, so I think stronger is the word to say. After that incident, it's as if Gillian is really sure of what she's doing right now. She's there standing strong. Gillian is still Gillian, but she's somewhat different. She looked so confident on-stage, and of course her dancing has gotten better. This does mark a good beginning for a solo Gillian Chung.

Besides the wave, I also liked how Gillian was standing. Her hands were slightly in her pockets with that confident smile, but nevertheless I still liked that giggle she broke out into. I'm so glad Gillian has gotten to grow stronger and not be afraid.

Hey, did you guys notice that at the opening of Twins' performance, the screens on-stage were all flashing 'Gillian' all over? It wasn't until Gillian and Charlene met at the centre of stage that the screen changed into one big title of 'Twins'. It looked kind of funny yet amusing.

I find that Charlene's movies are ALWAYS promoted WAY more then Gills, not to mention she always seems to get better plots and casts. Honestly, what the heck is EEG waiting for? When are they going to start promoting Gillian like they do to Charlene?

They are pretty stupid because they've probbaly invested quite alot in Gillian and tries to keep her cute, innocent 'I've never been kissed on screen' image because the the hell is going to happen when new comers join in? There's going to be more competition and it may be harder for Gill or what the heck is EEG going to do if Gillian happens to kiss a boy on her own time and coincidently those reporters got a juicy picture of it and splashes it on the front page of every magazine newspaper? yes...i get wat you're saying...EEG should give gillian a chance to break this barrier....if fans are going against it...then they really need to learn how to except the fact that gillian is not a lil kid anymore..she is growing to be more mature..and acting in these scene is very normal...if they are her true fans they should support her no matter what she does...instead of going against it...if she does...it could be a big boost in her acting career...and she would be able to accept a variety of movies in the future regardless of intimate scenes or not..

Thanks for sharing the links. Gillian was absolutely gorgeous, the highlight of this show. I mean, thank god her hair-stylist decided to do something different with her hair. I actually like this hairstyle the same as the one during 2008 Olympics; both different hairstyles bring out a different vibe from Gillian's beautiful face. I like this outfit more though; the 2008 Olympics outfit reminds me of beauty pageants for little girls.

Yeah, that dancing portion was a bit weird and sloppy. Gillian's weight reduction is quite visible but Gillian has only gotten more lovely and still appears so healthy. If you measure both Gillian and Sa's shoulders, arms, and figures, both of them are pretty much on the same scale in terms of weight so I guess, we wouldn't be hearing complaints about how chubby Gillian is anymore, lol. Gillian's wave was so sweet and it seems as though, Gillian was super cheerful, answering in such a cute way.
I can imagine how great of an actress Gillian can quickly become if she was the ultimate decision maker in which films and song genres to sing. Gillian really enjoyed her participation in Beyond Our Ken before realizing how successful the film was going to hit theatres and the songs Gillian favors are pretty good songs. I totally trust Gillian's taste and perception of things, she would be an awesome actress and singer if the opportunities were granted. I mean, Gillian can basically spot a success prior to its production, release, and media attention. How? Gillian is just another individual whose thoughts impresses people all around and if Gillian wasn't so limited, her opinions, thoughts, and contributions can tremendously help push each of her projects to success and acceptance. I say, Gillian can go ahead and follow her heart for once. Portray the characters she wishes to bring to life, sing all of the songs that have inspired her, and kiss whoever she wants to lose her first onscreen kiss to; it's time to filter out fans. Gillian and all of us know that there are some fans who will last for an entire lifetime while there are others who will change and grow out of their support so I say, it's just about right that Gillian break out from her shell and show everyone who Gillian Chung really is and see who are her true fans are.

Music videos do make quite a deep impression and so far, nothing but disappointment. Hopefully, there are better songs on this album. Is it likely that EEG will make more music videos for other songs of the album or is this it? I mean, Twins have already filmed 3 music videos so far and isn't that the usual number of music videos Twins film for each album? Hopefully, not! Gillian's solo, please save the day.

Well, in a way, Gillian's situation relates to Edison. When Edison was still quite restricted to Pop Idol music by Music Plus, his sales weren't that impressive and Edison himself detested that genre, he actually had to force himself to sing all of those albums. When he finally said, enough is enough, and composed his own first album that reflected off his true self (Please Steal This Album), his songs touched a different group of fans and audience, his sales were quite decent versus his previous albums. Please Steal This Album was a story based on the events and experiences Edison experienced, which is similar to what we're suggesting for Gillian. I'm sure Gillian's Life Biography will be something everyone will enjoy and can relate to. I can't wait until Gillian breaks away...soon.

I can completely see that too. Gillian's posture and dancing angles have brushed up so much, she's basically seducing the audience with her sexy moves. Gillian wasn't as wobbly as before but she lead the stage, stepping firmly on the ground, twisting so beautifully, and moving her body like a fully grown up woman ready to fight for everything she believes in; watching Gillian, I was so proud of her! I love how Gillian isn't afraid of naturally laughing and speaking now, not that she ever was, but there is something different about Gillian. She's just so much vibrant and fluid with everything. Gah, Gillian is just totally awesome.

Yeah, I noticed that too and I was like, Yay, Go Gillian! It's great to see so many people supporting Gillian, I'm so glad to see Gillian all back to normal!

I agree but if there's less promotions and less of an All-Star cast, once Gillian's films hit succes, we can truly say, Gillian majorly contributed to its success and not for anything else. More than half of the credits goes to Gillian; that is what I love about it and I've come to realize that Gillian will never be promoted into acting with big casts nor heavily promoted films so I've come to accept that Gillian will have to pave her own way through things against her. It's so much worth while and important that Gillian wins a nomination or an award based on her own abilities not anyone else's; I love that and will always support Gillian.

Hello to all.

I'm really impressed at how big this Gillian Thread is. I'm not the best fan of Twins because I don't have every album or movie they starred in but I'm really interested in them. I've read every single page there is at this thread and you guys are really dedicated to Gillian, it's nice to see that. I admit I first loved Charlene first but just recently when I watched Twins' concert the beginning of this year, since I have never heard Twins sing before, Gillian blew me away with her voice. I know, it sounds tacky but true. I love Charlene ever since 'Papa Loves You' and now, Gillian for her great performance during the concert. I know that there is a big clash between fans so I'll try not to mention things that will upset anyone. I guess, Twins staying together or not, I don't have a say because I like Charlene in acting and Gillian in singing so does that matter that they're together or not? I don't know. Twins, I love both.

Oh, when I said that I heard Gillian sing at the concert, I was there, live. I went with my family and their children. It was actually my little cousins that introduced me to Twins, Charlene. I bought the VCD, rip off, and the DVD, much better quality but still, being there live is way better. I didn't even bother taking a camera since I knew I was sitting in the middle so the photos wouldn't have turned out that great but I did catch a close glimpse of Gillian though. She's so pretty in person. And her smile is not fake but I don't know why some photos turn out that way.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 11 (Bernama) -- Malaysian police, through Interpol, have asked Hong Kong singer Gillian Chung, who was shown changing clothes backstage in a magazine there to give her statement to the Hong Kong police, said Deputy Internal Security Minister Datuk Fu Ah Kiow.

He said this was part of the ongoing investigation process by Malaysian police after the 25-year-old international artiste lodged reports with Hong Kong and Malaysian police.

"We have asked for her statement through Interpol. We asked her to give her statement through the Hong Kong police. That's all I can say at the moment," he told Bernama Monday.

Fu was asked on the progress of the investigation into Chung's case. One of the photographs, which showed Chung fixing her bra backstage had been published as a cover photo in a Hong Kong-based Easy Finder magazine.

The photo, allegedly snapped without Chung's knowledge while she was changing costumes during a singing performance in Genting Highlands on Aug 18 and 19, is also being circulated on the Internet.

The publication of the photo by Easy Finder has drawn strong protests from the government, artistes, journalists and members of the public in Hong Kong.

Gillian, popularly known as Ah Kiu, recently filed an injunction in the Hong Kong High Court against Easy Finder magazine to stop it from publishing the photograph as well as seeking compensation.

Gillian together with former model Charlene Choi formed the famed Hong Kong singing duo, Twins.

Gillian's performance in BOK was a natural; I think Gillian gained confidence in herself for acting from that film. You know, the nomination meant a lot to her. Gillian has stressed so many times that she does not mind of doing bold things on-screen as long as it's reasonable and the script requires it. It's always said that no one can limit yourself but yourself, but Gillian's case is obviously an exception. If Gillian was given her free choice of things, then she can really take the steering wheel and drive herself to where she wishes to go, build herself into what she wants to be. A factor of how a song or film turns to success is with the artiste putting a piece of their mind into it; that is a factor of how things get more natural. Gillian's insights on situations are awesome, so I'd really hope that she can speak out more and broaden herself more often. If only she was allowed to be free and fly off. I agree of how Gillian usually spots a success prior to the result; she loved her role in BOK because she loved working with the director, the director liked discussing with the cast and hearing thoughts of others, which was what he did. She also loved HOF because of the fighting scenes, which showed her capability of action films. She did end up getting recognition for those films. If only she were to run into more films like this. It is time to filter fans out; I'm actually anticipating for Gillian to do something out of her restriction circle. That way, we can see who truly support Gillian in retrieving her rights, and who are those who make a big fuss about something stupid and decide to leave. Gillian's most likely being sick and tired of being the little jade girl, so she should get to do something different. Well, sometimes they have more MVs than three. At least I hope they have more MVs than three. There are times of when the songs with MVs aren't necessary the plug songs, and some plug songs don't have MVs. We could hope on that. I mean, the recent EEG albums had more than three MVs. Vincy had five, Isabella had five + one is Steven's, Kenny had five, so let's hope we're able to bet on two more for Twins? One of them being Gillian's solo? Yeah, she looks like she's leading the stage. She's like the queen of the stage in those photos posted above. If you just look at those solo photos of Gillian on-stage, her eyes of confidence, sexy postures, you'll just fall in love with her!! Then those photos off-stage, we get the cute and free Gillian. I can't wait to see more of Gillian's live performances; I wouldn't mind to see her dance some more either. She's just so strong and confident now. I agree. Gillian's made it this far with all those recognitions though she has never gotten a free ride in her acting career. She grabbed all that with her own two hands, and I'm sure it'll be the same in the future. Gillian is sure to be able to find and pave her way. If she was meant to fail, then she would've a long time ago, and she wouldn't have been frozen in films this year due to being a threat. I'm the same with how you like it as well; I enjoy Charlene more in acting and Gillian more in singing, not that the other thing is worse for them or anything, but just a preference.

Alex and Gillian were so friendly back then, but then they had been avoiding each other because of the rumours. Now that they're more comfortable to speak about each other, the reporters strike again.

I can see how Gillian is almost recovered from the incident because even when mentioning the incident Gillian didn't seem too sad but gave a smile!

I can't believe how much improvement Gillian had gotten for all areas - singing, acting and dancing! This is going to show some people that Gillian won't be defeated that easily and will continuing to haunt them through waking or sleeping hours(lol)

Remember the pm about making the manipulations? Well, it was hard to do the manipulations for the couples because of the skin color, if they had a more 'asian' skin color, then it would have been easier to do. But the pictures that you found were VERY nice.

And for the solo ones of Gillian, I only made one of them from the list you gave me, and like the couple ones, the skin tones were hard to do.


^^ This was the only one I tried to do. =D Gillian looks REALLY dark, but in order to match the tones better (it still looks fake =D) I had to make her darker.

And since I couldn't do the ones you sent me (well I could, but it would have been harder to do =D), I decided to find my own pictures to manipulate.













They all look pretty bad, =D. It was hard to match the skin tone, and I got tired from constantly fixing the skin tone. So yeah, the skin tones are pretty off, but oh well.

Also, I didn't give them titles except for one of them was because I couldn't think of any, and so a few of them have her name on it, and the rest don't because I got lazy. =D And don't you guys think that Gillian would look beautiful in these types of photoshoots? And with this kind of hairstyle too? Man, I really wished that when Gillian had her REALLY long hair (around the time of the promotion of 'Around The World With 80 Dollars) instead of doing that type of curls that she had, to do these loose and prettyful (yeah, it's not a word, I know) curls? It would have looked MUCH better.

I'm so happy seeing all those pictures of Gillian. She looks so pretty in the last function pictures. Dark makeup suits Gillian better because it brings out her features. Oh goshies, and her hair was so pretty. I think this is one of those 'first' times when I have to say -- what where they thinking with Charlene's outfit instead of Gillian's.

I absolutely LOVE Gillian's outfit. She seems to have lost a lot of weight too, so beauitful -- but she still looks healthy, that's the best part!

She's stronger now after that incident. I feel really great seeing that.

I guess Beyond Our Ken's role was a reflection of Gillian's inside screams. I mean, everyone believes Gillian is some type of pure, conservative, proper, and quiet girl but inside, there's a deeper and darker Gillian. Gillian is quite gothic; she absolutely loves to wear black nail polish and her punkish-rockish-gothicish photoshoot was absolutely gorgeous and so natural. Gillian just loves to portray complex characters where it actually takes an entire film to unravel the essence of the character, like Ching in Beyond Our Ken. I agree, Gillian has never limited herself in terms of singing and acting but there are obviously other forces blocking her way, which is so sad. Gillian is so flexible and determined in action scenes, it's amazing. Female actresses these days are not too fond of the whole idea of participating in action scenes due to the amount of work invested; they would rather remain in pretty outfits or turn to comedy, that's why I applaud Gillian so much for leading the current martial arts theme for the females. Fans are supposed to be supportive of their idol, not contribute to the wall that is blocking her road to success and happiness. I'm impressed at what Gillian boldly stated about the ugly role. Gillian really does want to break out of the endless criticisms of her being the stereotypical talentless star who only achieved success due to her pretty looks. Gosh, Gillian is so cool like no other.

Hm, perhaps EEG will invest more music videos as part of the package for us. If it means Gillian filming her own music video for her solo, I'm all out for it, totally support it even if it means more cash out of my pocket. Gillian deserves it! Man, I remembered our first time hearing about Twins' solo in their upcoming Cantonese album, we were all so excited but now, it's so uncertain, it scares me. I absolutely love this one. I believe the skin tone matches perfectly, Gillian's face isn't too dark for the body and vice versa. It looks extremely real if you were to ask me! Thanks for sharing and taking time to create such beautiful artwork!

Gillian is really pretty in person but it's her voice that got me interested. I really liked the way she sang the ballads too.

It's not overwhelming. Different fans interpret things differently. I can see that you guys are very concerned about Gillian and that's your support as fans, I wouldn't be any different towards Charlene either. I actually get a lot of news from this thread too so this thread is sort of like an updated version of the Twins thread.

At least Gillian has been doing good lately from the incident. I felt so sorry for her and it was nice to see that Charlene was comforting her at least. It helps to have another person there.

Most of them turned out quite decently, but the ones I quote are my personal favorites. I know the skin tone and sizes are hard to get right when you're doing manips, but you've tried your best. Be sure to continue making more!


Another point is that Gillian's image shouldn't be so on the surface. As we can tell by seeing Gillian herself with her taste and actions, there are many different sides of her, as is with many other people. Her image should be more realistic; seriously, people don't just have one side of them. Sure, Gillian can be really sweet and caring, but she has her wild moments as well. I'll bet Gillian was delighted to receive her character in BOK because it was actually a role that took effort and a role that you can actually develop on, unlike her previous roles. Gillian isn't afraid to take on what comes to her, but it really isn't her choice because obviously others are forbidding her to do what she wants. She isn't afraid to get injured during action films and actually refuses stuntmen while most actresses get stuntmen to do the job and take the easy way out. Now, I'm not trying to put Gillian at a higher level or demote anyone else, but I'm just saying that Gillian really is dedicated to her work, a very tough and determined girl. A good way for Gillian to break away from the criticisms of her pretty face is portraying a role that throws her pretty image away. If she portrays a character who is downright ugly along with her acting skills, she'll rip away from the criticisms in a snap and finally be acknowledged. As typical as it gets, it works everytime for each beauty along the way.

Yeah, I guess for Gillian, it will be worth it, but then what if it's some crappy filmed video? Suppose Gillian's solo ballad was beautiful, yet EEG decided to put some low budgeted MV with it? I'd at least want it to be a MV that has a plot with it and not just shots here and there showing her sing. I really hope there are solos; why would they say that they were going to be producers of songs when they aren't? Or perhaps we just assumed that being producers meant solos? But then it would be plain weird if the songs aren't solos and they have to make each other sing the way they want. Please, let there be a solo ballad of Gillian's. I kinda want to hear Gillian sing a love song solo; she's done solo songs that aren't of the usual topics, but Gillian's voice is so emotional in love songs that I don't want to miss it. I think it'd be about time for them to have another solo since their last Cantonese solo was 3 years ago. Hopefully, they'll film at least one more video with a plot and Gillian's straight hair.

I would mind Gillian acting as a ugly because really, it doesn't matter if her character doesn't look pretty or anything because that doesn't really affect one's acting. I hope there's a solo composed song by Gillian and also an above average quality MV because can't ask too much from EEG seeing how they are dealing with Twin's releases. I rather not have both Twins sing what they produced themself because I want to see how they personally put into their song and message for the whole song instead of receiving half and half from their songs because one might not interpret the song like how they personally feel it to be.

I agree. How boring would it be if your idol just portrays a perfect character every time? It wouldn't even be realistic. People in real life have their rights and wrongs, so they're not right every single time; some characters are just written to be the most perfect person in the world to the point that you'll stop and realize that it's not possible. Then again, as you've said, some fans actually like it that way. I wouldn't mind Gillian playing an ugly character either; I'd actually want her to because then, people can stop focusing on how she supposedly only looks beautiful but no talent. An ugly character should have more to develop on, possibly more emotional scenes and such. Or it doesn't have to be an ugly character, just any character that allows Gillian to develop in is good.

Ching from BOK was kind of like a villain, but each of the main characters were villains in their own way, so it probably doesn't count as much. It does seem unlikely for Gillian to act as a villain since she have so many children fans. When disregarding about the children fans, it may not be such a bad idea for Gillian to play a villain. Not an absolute villain who's rotten to the core, but the kind of character who just has to do evil things to protect herself and such; those characters are interesting most of the time, but I think these characters have been overused because of the big hype with 'War and Beauty'.

Agreeing with the points that you stated, I wouldn't want both Twins to sing something that one of them produced either. If either of them is going to be producing, they should be able to sing their produced song by themselves, so that the song will be solely brought to us by the producer herself. I mean, wouldn't it feel weird to be obligated of sharing your creation with someone just because she's your partner? Hopefully, there will be solos along with above average MVs. Seriously, they need more MVs than what they've filmed. Those three MVs just don't make the cut.

Guess what I just read from Twins latest magazine? Charlene had written lyrics to a song called "You Are Not A Good Lover" and I think that it's going to be on their upcoming album. Hopefully since Charlene was able to write a song, that Gillian will be able to too, since there was news about both of them writing and producing their own song in this album. Because it wouldn't be fair if only Charlene got to have her song in the album, but not Gillian's.

Looks like she has a similar hairstyle in the ad to the function, and it seems like Gillian's hairstylist really likes this hairstyle now, he/she keeps on using it! As much as I like this hairstyle, I would still kind of like to see a variety of different and nice hairstyles on Gillian. See what looks nice and what doesn't look nice. =D

Also, I just checked yesasia to see if there are any news on Twins upcoming album, and there was none, but, there is a new cd between EEG and TVB consisting of Children's songs, and Twins have 4 songs total in the cd! They have to most songs there! And the picture of Twins in the cover is SO PRETTY!!! Both Twins look so pretty! And I love the outfit!!

Really? It seem like a solo song. Hopefully Gillian could write her own songs too! Is the song going to be her solor or is it going to be a Twins song? I rather have them write their own solo songs. Oh my, you're Black Snow! I have to say, I'm a huge fan of all of your manipulations; they're so lovely! Welcome to the thread; don't mind me, I feel like giving you a big hug lol! Seriously, I'm really really impressed by your artwork; they're extremely good! I love these recent ones too, amazing. Each rubs off a different vibe. The first one is such an elegant calm Gillian enjoying a day near the ocean; the second one, lovely Gillian waiting for her Romeo, counting the rose petals until he returns to sweep her off her feet again, and the third, so unique, so deep and gothic-like yet so heart breaking!

Everyone whether it be lilsleepyhead, Bluehearts, Macy, you, or other fans out there, you guys break the barriers for Gillian. It's so rare for Gillian to have a really nice and unique fashionable photo shoot so these manipulations are awesome. Gillian may be physically confined but it's her fans that have made it possible for her to achieve a different image with each manipulation. Thanks for sharing guys! Gillian has always been mysterious, that's probably why every time Gillian portrays a different character, it both surprises and amazes the audience because they didn't believe Gillian had that type of attitude in her, lol. Gillian can fight so aggressively YET so beautifully and cool. Gillian does need to portray an ugly character, full of anger or sorrow, some type of dramatic emotion so she can perform an Oscar Winning scene of crying or screaming or perhaps psychoticness. That would be closer to the real Gillian versus all of those sweet and innocent roles.

I'm still anticipating on Gillian's solo no matter what but even if EEG doesn't invest in Gillian's solo music video, if there is any, at least we'll have solo Gillian scenes to make our own music videos with right? We must use all sources of Gillian media to our advantage.

Hm, that song sounds like a ballad. I thought she was singing a fast song? But second thought, the title sort of sounds like a fast song too. Information about this album is slowly being released; hopefully, we'll get to hear news about Gillian's solo too. I believe EEG knows better than to directly exclude Gillian out like that. I mean, EEG has gotten away with letting Sa sing first in the majority of the songs and in some songs, Sa has more lines (I don't think Gillian has ever had more lines than Sa in Twins songs.), but if EEG was that bias to exclude Gillian out of producing, writing, composing, whatnot her own solo, that's really declaring war!

I believe Gillian had the best outfits and hairstyles when Twins first began up until last year. Gillian's hairstyle and clothes began to decline in fashion. Nonetheless, Gillian still pulls through so beautifully.

Both Gillian and Charlene have a solo song but they're doing exactly what they did for 'Touch of Love' ... There is a Twins version of Charlene's solo song, 'You're not a good lover', which is the theme song for 'Diary'... so I have a feeling that 'You're not a good lover' is gonna be plugged...
