Gil and Char look really cute in those screencaps. That hairstyle would look ridiculous on a lot of people but it looks aodrable on Gil! But her hair looks a bit shorter...she got it cut recently I guess!

Hm, I don't think Gillian did any composing in the album. I was listening to a radio interview, and the host said that he has received the lyrics of their upcoming album already; he said he saw Charlene's name as the composer of 'You Are Not A Good Lover', so he asked how come Gillian didn't compose any since during the interview, Gillian sounded quite eager about getting involved with the production. By that, I think he means that Gillian didn't compose any songs. Anyway, Gillian answered that she did do some composing, spent a lot of time on it, and handed it to Ronald Ng. Gillian got no response, and it turns out that Ronald had forgotten about it. She said that she felt a little discouraged on her confidence of composing when finding that out. Gillian said that she's still doing some composing here and there right now though. On the side, Gillian spoke a lot and was super cute in that interview!

I heard that the album might be delayed on its release. The release date might be the 22nd instead of the 21st.

Aw so Gillian didn't get the chance to compose any songs. That's so sad, Gillian was all pumped up about this in the beginning. I can't believe Ronald actually forgot about it. What the? I hope she's ok. This is just wrong if you ask me. I'd be discouraged too. >.<

What? I'm sorry but that was such a lame excuse, forgetting? There's no way that Ronald guy can simply forget about Gillian's composed solo and not do the same towards Gillian's partner Sa. That just sounds so fishy and highly unlikely, accidentally. Oh well, let's just hope that Gillian has an opportunity to sing an emotional ballad at least; hm, just hearing this piece of news already made my heart drop in terms of the quality on Gillian's behalf.

Oh well, I'm not anticipating that much on this album afterall. Don't want to be dropped from the sky without wings after listening to Gillian's solo after having so much hope.

I know, tell us about it. Even when you're watching a Gillian movie, you somehow think of Sa and vice versa, how can this Ronald guy possibly forget about Gillian? How can he call himself a good lyricist if he can't even remember correctly and please do not tell me that he has a busy schedule, the first thing in this type of business is courtesy and respect, obviously, none is going towards Gillian. *Sigh* This always happens when hearing news of Gillian. All the hopes we have of her of new opportunities always end in disappointments, in which most of them aren't even Gillian's fault. I was SO anticipating Gillian's solo composition to see what her insights on different aspects of life is, but of course, all the anticipation of it was worthless, seeing how she doesn't get a chance to compose her own song in the album.

That's really not fair! I mean if he got Charlene's, he could of asked Gillian where was hers and Gillian would tell him that she gave it to him, so he could look for it. Man..thats BS!

I just saw 32 seconds of "Your not A Good Lover" MV and the songs sounds pretty nice! Gillian got curls in this MV. Though it looks new to me since I seen her in straight hair this month so its pretty pretty! Now I heard a little of Charlene's solo it sounds pretty nice. I want to hear Gillian solo now.

Yesterday, Twins appeared at a radio station to promote their new album. Their album will be including two solo songs of each member; Gillian Chung expressed that others consistently pointed out that her way of portraying her solo song, 'If Not You, I Won't Marry', sounds extremely alike with Vivian Chow! Asking if Gillian hopes to become the second generation of a Jade Girl? She answered, "They just meant that my voice sounded like her!" Then do the lyrics speak Gillian's mind? Gillian denied, "The song was chosen by my producer; it doesn't have a special meaning." (Then will you not be marrying unless it's a specific person?) No, the song speaks about a scene of reminiscing. It narrates of how fortunate I am of not marrying this person; if not, then I wouldn't be as happy as now. (Is that how you feel?) I haven't had that thought before." As for Charlene's solo, 'You Are Not A Good Lover', it is composed by Charlene herself. The MV looks like it's been shot back in January. I swear, Gillian looks exactly the same as she did in the 'Conscience Discovery' MV. I guess they did spend a lot of time preparing this album. Anyway, I agree that Gillian looks quite nice in the MV, even with the curls. Ths shot with her in the long, white dress was beautiful. The duet sounds pretty good and catchy as well; I wonder how the solo one will turn out? Gillian is challenging the high notes in her solo line; I love how that sounded. It is beautiful, and it does sound like Gillian's made changes to how she sings.

Oh yeah, the album's releasing tomorrow. It is delayed by one day.

I've listened to the first verse and the chorus of Gillian's solo from the 903 interview and it's a slow song!! =D
Most of the other songs on the album seem to be fast or 'Hing Fai' though....

Oh thanks so much! I just listened to it. The beginning bit does sound like Vivian Chow, though the rest you can tell it's purely Gillian's voice. I really like the song. The lyrics and the way Gillian sang the song is so beautiful. I'm happy with it It's just too bad we don't get to listen to something Gillian composed herself.

OMG! I love it! I'm listening to the 903 interview which is 30 minutes long, and their giving a 30-50 secs of each song. Summer Rain sounds nice. Charlene solo, I have to admit that it doesn't sound nice if she sings it alone but if its the Twins verison it sounds alot better But whatever cause Gillian solo sounds really nice! Ok ok now I have to get this album! Her solo rocks!

Oh yeah forgot to mention that I love the chorus part! Also when she was introducing the song I thought of Edison when she was talking about that guy. But the guy left her and she could have a better start.

From what I have heard of the Twins verison of the 32 second MV release, I really like Charlene's solo too. This is also so different from the other Twins' songs. Charlene's voice doesn't sound different but Gillian's sure does - more sharp and high but not in a way that irritates the eyes, just compliments the song

I love both solos, maybe Gillian's more since I can't stop listening to the song. I'm putting this interview on 'repeat'. The music is really attracting and Gillian's voice just makes it more attractive...lolx...I can't wait to have the full verison of both songs Out all the things I dislike about the album, these two solos is worthy at least!

Actually, this song is actually quite bittersweet. It's not extremely sorrowful, but this character of the song is still having a hard time with herself. She's trying to move on, even by hanging the flower on the guy, assuming that the guy is getting married, but she still feels completely miserable inside. She is still hoping for her true love. This ballad is really good with the great lyrics and Gillian's emotional portrayal; it sounds a lot more mature than the usual Twins songs, which is a big highlight.

Yeah, Gillian looks like January, but Charlene looks very present. Maybe they shot Gillian back then, and Charlene now? The two of them didn't have any scenes together, so that could be possible? It just doesn't seem like it could be recent because even though Gillian had curls through all these months, her curls look slightly different from time to time. Anyway, I think it'll be clear when we get to see the whole MV.

I think you're right about how Gillian's singing at a higher scale. Gillian said on an interview earlier that their producers want to have their songs show how both of them sing instead of making them sing exactly the same because then, it would have no difference than having a solo artiste sing it. That's probably why Gillian's singing higher notes while Charlene stays at the standard notes. I'd really like to hear the full version of this song, seeing that Gillian is doing higher scales in there. I just love that solo line.

I think the translated song title should be 'If Not Him, I Won't Marry'; it makes more sense as to corresponding to the song after listening to the lyrics.

I agree; Gillian's solo doesn't really seem 'Twins-style'; it actually sounds quite mature and challenging. I love her solo, and I'm glad her producer chose this for her.

Yeah, I like Charlene's solo too. Both versions are very nice. The duet version, obviously because Gillian used a different singing technique and tried some high notes. The way the standard and high voices came together complimented the song. The solo version is quite good because Charlene's emotions were well-controlled.

These three songs are probably the only worthy things in the album.

Yeah, doesn't Gillian sound like she's finally 'growing up' with her song genres? She sounds so mature! I love it! I'm listening to this on repeat as well, getting addicted before it's even officially released. I'll cut a no DJ version later, just for our sake of listening the repeats tonight.

OMG!!! I love Gillian's solo! It sound so NICE, and I think I heard a bit of vibratos around the end of it too!!! And since this song isn't going by the way someone sang it, like in 'I Really Want To Love Him', then it's based on how Gillian feels the song should be portrayed. I wonder if she will be using more vibratos in the rest of the song?

For Gillian's solo part in 'You Are Not A Good Lover', is it just me or is the 'Gik Ho Ban' (first three words) actually sung by Charlene? After listening to Charlene's solo version, those three words sound like her voice more than Gillian's.

It's still laggy, I let it play three times, and all three times it was still laggy. I was able to hear the overall song though, and it sounds really nice. The lyrics that Charlene wrote to it really matched well with the melody of the song. And after listening to the previews of the songs from the radio interview, it seems like this album should be pretty good. So even though Gillian didn't get to compose her own song, but at least this album seems decent enough to buy. =D

Also, that part that you're talking about, does sound like Charlene. But the people that do the KTV parts of Twins MV's tend to mess up, so it's no surprise to me that they messed up.

Really? Hm, that's weird; it usually works for me. Actually, Charlene composed the song while the lyricist, LinXi, wrote the lyrics. Regardless, it is still a good song. These Cantonese songs are definitely better than the Mandarin ones, even though they are mostly 'Hing Fai'/fast as well. I'm thinking of buying it as well since Gillian did make improvements in this album with high notes and vibratos. I just love her solo; that's my main reason of wanting to buy it. I'm still thinking of waiting a bit though. Just seeing how this album doesn't include the MV of 'You Are Not A Good Lover' already foreshadows a second version.

Yeah, there is a difference between the solo and duet version of the song. The duet version seems to have some extra bass in it while the solo version is more calm. I'm not sure of how to say this in English, but the duet version sounds more 'gik' (frantic? agitated? uptight?) than the solo version. I think it's because of the high voice of Gillian's. Charlene's version is calmer, but it's still very emotional.

Oh my, I just downloaded it now and I cannot get enough of it! I absolutely love Gillian's ballad, seriously! I love all of the sorrowful emotions Gillian successfully channels out, so lovely and so heart breaking. I love it when Gillian's voices stretches and expands, ahhh, Gillian is such a great singer. Can't wait to hear Gillian live!

Yeah, that's what I noticed too. Sa's voice is the base, remaining the same while Gillian's voice extends higher but overall, Sa's voice is more audible than Gillian's because normally, higher notes are usually for background purposes, so in a way, Sa is still the lead singer of her solo. As for Gillian's voice, this album has been Gillian's best so far! I have to say, I love how Gillian sings very much, Gillian has definitely improved and polished her singing abilities so well; I'm still speechless and amazed.

Oh my, at first, Gillian's solo reminded me of Vivian and Joey mixed together, Gillian's voice is just so beautiful! I cannot stop listening to it! Oh, okay, after reading the lyrics, Gillian's response makes more sense now.

Yeah, when I first heard that solo verse, it was so high and clear, I wasn't even sure that was Gillian because I was still paying attention to the video, I didn't glance at the karaoke lyrics until that solo verse caught me by surprise and I had to rewind it just to listen to it again and that was Gillian! Gillian, I'm so proud of her! Oh so I guess, it wasn't just me who heard Gillian sing those higher notes while Sa remained as the base of the song. I'm so glad that at least the producers are beginning to do something different with Twins songs, that is something so refreshing to hear.

I agree. After listening to Gillian sing in the Sa duet and her own solo, Gillian sings differently in each. Gillian expands really well in her own solo while dots the duet with high climaxes; I'm not sure if I made any sense. Anyway, cheers to Gillian for portraying both songs so wonderfully!

Okay, I'm kind of confused right now, I thought that composing meant writing, so I thought that Charlene wrote the song, so is composing making the melody of the song? =D Hehe...

I think it's reasonable that Charlene is the lead singer since the song is supposed to be her solo to start with. I haven't really listened to the other songs for a second time yet since her solo captured me right away that I have just been repeating it for the whole evening. When the album releases, I'll be sure to listen for Gillian's other improvements; there are still one or two songs that they haven't played during the radio interview, so I'll want to take a listen at those as well.

Her solo didn't really remind me of Joey, but because the way Gillian sang her solo sounded more mature than her usual singing and more stable, it did resemble Vivian in a way, but as the song progressed, it was still pure Gillian. Now I really hope this song gets plugged; it deserves to be plugged!

Charlene's voice is the base of the song, but Gillian's voice just adds some sugar and spice to it. I like how the duet version came out; it's not just the solo version with an extra person singing in it, but there are actually things that are different. Some bass is added in the melody, and it was intended for Gillian to sing higher than the standard notes. It turned out beautifully.

This may be the first step that Gillian matures in her singing and genres. You really wouldn't expect a song like this to be included in a Twins album. Man, this ballad is so addicting!!

It would make more sense if Gillian was composing a song as she played cello before and would have some understanding on music notes. Would be great if Twins can participate on their album again so Gillian would have another chance to compose and write lyrics which hopefully won't be left forgotten again...

I am certain that Charlene composed the song. It was typed on the MV that Charlene is the composer while LinXi is the lyrics writer. I don't know if Charlene plays any instruments, maybe the piano? She was playing the piano in the 'Girl School Boy Student' MV, but I don't know if she actually knows how to play it. She might've gotten help on the composing; she did say that she spent three years composing this song, and the MV also printed that Ronald Ng is the arranger of the song. The arranger has the job of connecting the melodies together and making edits, so maybe Ronald did more than the usual to help Charlene; he might've been the one to add the bass to the duet version.

I really hope that Gillian can have some participation in her albums later on, maybe Ronald can finally get back to her with her projects. Gillian said that he told her he'll get back to her after he makes edits to them, but he ended up forgetting. Can't Gillian give her projects to someone else for comments/suggestions/edits? Ronald Ng might be really famous, but there are other good composers out there, who, mind him, wouldn't forget about someone's work.

I think Charlene composed it by humming out the tune, in the interview she said that she would hum it in the shower and stuff, so maybe if she hummed out something nice, she would record it and maybe then when she got the whole song planned out on how it would go, she hummed it out or something to Ronald Ng, and then he played it out on the piano?

And I don't think either Twins play an instrument currently. I remember this interview that asked if they would play an instrument in a concert, similar to Lee Hom's concert, and they said that they wouldn't because all they would be doing is just memorizing how to play it, and not playing it based on years of practicing. So I doubt any of them play an instrument as a hobby.
