I think it's reasonable that Charlene is the lead singer since the song is supposed to be her solo to start with. I haven't really listened to the other songs for a second time yet since her solo captured me right away that I have just been repeating it for the whole evening. sweat.gif When the album releases, I'll be sure to listen for Gillian's other improvements; there are still one or two songs that they haven't played during the radio interview, so I'll want to take a listen at those as well.

Her solo didn't really remind me of Joey, but because the way Gillian sang her solo sounded more mature than her usual singing and more stable, it did resemble Vivian in a way, but as the song progressed, it was still pure Gillian. blush.gif Now I really hope this song gets plugged; it deserves to be plugged!

Charlene's voice is the base of the song, but Gillian's voice just adds some sugar and spice to it. laugh.gif I like how the duet version came out; it's not just the solo version with an extra person singing in it, but there are actually things that are different. Some bass is added in the melody, and it was intended for Gillian to sing higher than the standard notes. It turned out beautifully.

This may be the first step that Gillian matures in her singing and genres. shifty.gif You really wouldn't expect a song like this to be included in a Twins album. Man, this ballad is so addicting!! infatuated.gif

Composing is making the melody of the song, yeah. Charlene composed the song while the lyricist, LinXi, wrote the lyrics. I don't know; does composing mean writing? Now I'm kind of confused. sweat.gif
From semi-average jumpy summer songs to a completely lovely ballad like If Not Him, I Won't Marry, that transition in the album surprised us all! sweat.gif I really heard no major improvements even when Twins sang that summer song live but just a radio version of Gillian's solo is enough to show that Gillian's voice has matured and perfect even when solo, perhaps even more stable and beautiful. Now this album is a definite buy! yeah.gif

Really? Hm, perhaps it's just me. Gillian did begin off sounding like Vivian but who could blame her? Gillian's voice in general is soft, sweet, and gentle like Vivian's but the only difference is, Gillian has been singing simplified Twins songs that have not brought out the best from Gillian's voice, her full potential. I do hope that this song is plugged as well; this definitely is a highlighting song of the entire album. I mean, the ballad in terms of lyrics, melody, and of course Gillian combined is such a beautiful blend that if this solo wasn't plugged, it would be quite a waste. whistle.gif But either way, I'm satisfied.

I guess, Gillian fans find the duet more appealing due to the extra elements added in and of course, Gillian's voice but a few Sa fans don't. I understand their frustration, welcome to our world huh? whistle.gif But what I meant to say was, if these are the current roads EEG is planning out for each Twin, Sa in the acting industry and Gillian in the music industry, then perhaps it is reasonable for this distinction of solos. I mean, come on. In terms of films, Sa is way ahead of her game. I see no one sympathizing for Gillian when EEG rejected Abnormal Beauty on behalf of Gillian while accepting Diary for Sa. A few fans just simply stated that each Twin has her own image; well, same goes in the music industry; perhaps each Twin does have her own image as well. Look at this year alone, Gillian has practically no solo films nor minor solo roles while Sa has quite a few. And a few fans are acting like Gillian is stealing Sa's credits for composing the song, no she isn't. It was arranged that way. And yes, Sa may have stated that she was going to write the solo in the beginning just like Gillian but what do you know, none of Gillian's submitted songs are included in this album while Sa's is so I don't think anyone is lying when they say, Sa helped composed the melody but the lyrics were written by LinXi, it even states so in the piece of news, unless it's wrong or like usual, I'm translating it inaccurately? Anyway, I tried.

另外,阿Sa在新碟中參與作曲,作品《你不是好情人》由林夕填詞

I think Charlene composed it by humming out the tune, in the interview she said that she would hum it in the shower and stuff, so maybe if she hummed out something nice, she would record it and maybe then when she got the whole song planned out on how it would go, she hummed it out or something to Ronald Ng, and then he played it out on the piano?

And I don't think either Twins play an instrument currently. I remember this interview that asked if they would play an instrument in a concert, similar to Lee Hom's concert, and they said that they wouldn't because all they would be doing is just memorizing how to play it, and not playing it based on years of practicing. So I doubt any of them play an instrument as a hobby.
Yes, I believe that's how Sa composed the song too. In terms of the music, perhaps the music crew were responsible for that part of the song while using Sa's hum as the basis, that's considered composing.

I don't think either Twins know how to play instruments either, if they did, they would have used some of their abilities earlier already. sweat.gif

I'm so excited as well. Not for the entire abulm but Gillian's solo is enough to make up for it. Her voice really did improve. That's why, I really like Gillian. She's always trying to improve her singing. infatuated.gif Oh goshies...I haven't hear the duet of Twins nor have I heard Charlene's solo. Tell me now...is it someone on this page or the one before? I'm not seeing it.

I believe, to hear Sa's solo version of the song, it's this link, though I haven't downloaded it yet because I'm just interested in Gillian's but I think I should now. blush.gif

It's a 30 minute radio thing that samples the album, thanks Little_Purple_Bell.

WOW! gillian has really evolved into this full-fledged professional singer. before, no twins song was ever able to bring out gillian's true and absolutely beautiful voice and talents like this album seems to have. just watching the twins song that was derived from char's composed song was amazing. gillian's voice reached new limits and the way she reached her high notes was truly impressive.
and i can't even find words to describe how beautifully sung gill's solo was...she did sound like vivian in some parts, but then in the other parts it was just like a new gillian...i really don't know how to describe it...i just know that i've fallen in love with her solo.

i have to admit that at first i was skeptical and worried about what would happen once twins split and if each could hold her own, but with gill's solo i absolutely have no doubts that gill can go on her solo singing (and acting) path because she's mastered the skills needed for both areas...i am so proud of how far gill has come!

yeah.gif and congrats to the gill thread for reaching 4000+ posts! yeah.gif

I just listened to Gillian's full solo! AND I LOVE IT!!! I love this part!
要放生他 才讓我內心一朵花萌芽
新情人也許 能代替他
想 定會想他 我甚至想非君不嫁

The way this part was was really nice! I don't know how to describe it, but like it goes a bit higher and lower and different type of transitioning of the song than the beginning of the song!!! I like most of the songs in this album so far, there are only 1 or 2 that I have heard so far that I'm not so fond of. But the rest is NICE!

Gillian's solo's gonna be on my repeated playlist for the a LONG time. =D

And here's the full lyrics to Gillian's song.

REPEAT*
要放生他 才讓我內心一朵花萌芽
新情人也許 能代替他
想 定會想他 我甚至想非君不嫁

真愛若要等一下 隨心放任變得牽掛 不怕

I love the climax as well. blush.gif I was so delighted to finally get the CD version since I've been listening to the radio version the whole day. Yep, the CD version is awesome; that's what I'm repeating now. tongue.gif The album isn't that bad either; EEG simply chose the wrong songs to release beforehand. Everything else on the album sounded better than what they filmed MVs for at that island. dry.gif Anyway, even though Ronald Ng forgot about Gillian's self-composed song, he picked a good song for her to sing as her solo and guided her nicely through it. Okay, I'll be merciful on his forgetfulness. n_tt2.gif

If Not Him, I Won't Marry
Composer: Dennie Wong@Baron
Lyricist: LinXi
Arranger: Dennie Wong
Producer: Ronald Ng

My sparks and love with him have disappeared.
My heart has to tug and pull at this; my heart feels like it's dying.
Each item has an expiration date; I grasp onto a hand of air.
Even if I love him faithfully, I still have to bear with so much.
Even if I hold on tight, and look at our past as a film.
Being together with him, if I'm not happy, then I should end it off quickly.
There's no reason for me to hurt myself badly. I'll take it as my pure luck.
Having the rights of being in possession of him was just a scene of play.

#My pain and sorrows, watching a film alone, I have to cry until I remember.
I've forgotten about him, yet I really love him.
I've even said that if not him, I wouldn't marry.
I was even naive to the point of where my heart had not been tainted,
Then my heart was scratched and scarred by him.
If I can't have him, then I shouldn't love him.
I can just walk the years and sceneries by with freedom.
True love has a price that one has to pay.
Even if that price is huge, I won't be one bit afraid.

Breaking up with him equals of letting me find a new scenery; it's alright.
Diminish the feelings I had before; I've discovered that anyone can be compatible.
I won't mind of who will give the luck of romance.
Who walks near, revise oneself, forgetting the past doesn't count as a loss.

Repeat #

I need to let go of him; that is how the flower in my heart will be able to bloom.
Perhaps a new lover will be able to replace him.
Thinking of him, I will think of him.
I've even said that if not him, I wouldn't marry.
I was even naive to the point of where my heart had not been tainted,
Then my heart was scratched and scarred by him.
If I can't have him, then I shouldn't love him.
I can just walk the years and sceneries by with freedom.
If I'll have to wait a bit for true love, comfortably letting myself fly off,
Yet I tend to remember; I still don't have to be afraid.
There will be someone in the future waiting for me; don't be afraid.

Ahhh, I wish this would be the next song EEG plugs, please! *prays* I really hope that this year will be the year where each Twin shines in her own area. Sa will definitely be recognized for her role in Diary; I just watched the trailer and boy, Sa is quite convincing being delusional plus, the overall storyline is really interesting, which is a major must already. Gillian should finally enter the music industry fully, solo. I have to say, why choose such a great and powerful song for Gillian to portray so beautifully when it won't be plugged? In the Twins verison of "你不是好情人" around 3:34 where they sing "gik ho fun" you guys said Charlene sang it or Gillian? Cause when I was listening to it, I say both Twins sang that verison. It sounds more like Gillian than Charlene too me. But I love the whole Twins verison! Really love it!

Actually, it's Sa. If you listen to it very closely, you'll hear that the voice singing that part is to your right, which is Sa's usual position in Twins songs and if you continue to listen, Gillian's voice to the left will emerge, singing the next lyrics. It doesn't matter. Both Twins sang the song so well together. Hm, no wonder why Twins are Twins, not only did Gillian and Sa look alike in the beginning but they both sound similar too! sweat.gif

Gah, I love this song too. Huge props to Sa for composing such a lovely song. clapping.gif Anyway, I must say, I love Gillian's soft yet heart breaking voice in this song, it's quite different from her solo. Seems like Gillian just got hurt and heartbroken in this song so her voice is still weak and sorrowful, about to die from fresh wounds, but in Gillian's solo, If Not Him, I Won't Marry, Gillian has already moved on a while ago so her emotions and true love for him still faithfully remains but a piece of her already released him from her heart and life, what's left are just ghost-like memories. That's the different tones I get when listening to both songs. sweat.gif Gillian does a perfect portrayal of each!

Yeah, it's easy to mix Gillian and Sa up, that's why they're Twins, especially in Mandarin, lol. loool.gif But because Sa is always to the right and Gillian to the right, grab your head/earphones and listen carefully, you'll hear the pattern. As for the last chorus, yes, both Twins did join and finally sing that high part together. Sa sings the same part sort of the same in her solo so that can also confirm that it's Sa who sang that part.

Huh? I'm confused. So for the first 2 time "gik ho bun" was sung by Charlene not Gillian? But I swear it's sound exactly like Gillian. Cause if you hear it, continuing after that its the same voice which is Gillian's. OK..I'm so confused now. But the last part was both Gill and Char right?

I guess I gotta download Charlene solo to hear it cause I always thought it was Gillian.

I wish they could make a TVB MV, so it could go on the JSG to unconfuse me to who sing that part.

It's fine. Both Twins do sound very similar to one another at times. But I'm sure the first two 'gik ho bun' was sung by only Sa and the final one was Twins. I agree, Sa's voice was quite sharp, which resembled Gillian's a lot but like I said, to distinguish the voice apart in those raising high notes, listen to the song with ear/headphones and you'll hear the pattern, Sa to the right and Gillian, the left. But it doesn't matter much does it? Sa had an opportunity to sing that high part whereas Gillian also had her chance to sing a high portion too. Sa began her verse standard then transitioned very high into 'gik ho bun' and Gillian began her verse right after at the same high level bringing the verse to standard notes, that's why Sa sounds like Gillian and Gillian sounds like Sa at that crossing point. I'm not sure if I made any sense, lol.

Yeah but some times, when performing live, both Twins join lines that aren't joined in the CD versions so you probably won't know either, lol. loool.gif

Yes, the first two times of 'Gik Ho Ban' is sung by Charlene, not Gillian. At first, I thought it was Gillian since that's what the karaoke letters said, and I was using a school computer, of which the sound sucked. sweat.gif Then when I got home and listened to it again and the sample of the solo version, the 'Gik Ho Ban' sounded like Charlene, and it is Charlene. I also got it confirmed here as well. The last 'Gik Ho Ban' was both Gillian and Charlene; it was clearly different than the first two. Gillian sang extremely high during those three words. sweat.gif

I agree. When Twins joined towards the end, Gillian's voice elevated all of those high notes even higher and clearer, it was very audible that Gillian touched those extremely high notes and reflected off Sa's voice and of course, that part sounds different from Sa's solo part of 'gik ho ban.'

I don't think they would use function clips to make a MV with Gillian's solo. The songs where they use functions clips are usually the more 'fun' and upbeat songs, so if they're planning to ruin her solo by using functions clips to make a MV for an emotional ballad, then I'd rather them not make a MV at all. sweat.gif Maybe they will make a MV of her solo, to release it on a second version. Some tear-jerking scenes from Gillian would be nice. blush.gif

I'm thinking of buying the album, but I kind of do want to wait to see if there's a second version. Come on, they obviously have a MV of 'You Are Not A Good Lover' that is not released on the album, so what does that tell you? It tells me that the MV is going to serve as something extra to give on a second version. I don't want to be ripped off, but I feel like I want to support the album. sweat.gif

Vivian is a highly respected and loved artist in Hong Kong, if Gillian is already receiving endless compliments of how much her lovely voice resembles Vivian, perhaps that will provide EEG with enough confidence and evidence, enough to plug Gillian's solo? blink.gif I hope so. Gillian's solo is just too beautiful to be just another song in the album. down.gif

Hopefully, everyone will support Gillian's solo, plugged or not because it's just absolutely breath taking. sweat.gif I just can't wait to watch Twins perform their new songs, these are really good songs indeed. For the very first time, I can hear Gillian's complete voice, no barriers, no setbacks, just naturally flowing with the melody and music, oh so beautiful! I really want this solo to be plugged because I want to measure how well it'll float up in the charts and mesmerize the audience; in other words, does Gillian Chung have what it takes to make it on her own in the broad audience, not just her fans.

Anyway, I'm glad that both Twins sang together in You're Not A Good Lover. For some reason, without this song, my question as to how well Twins synchronize with one another at the moment would have never been answered. Both Twins when portraying their own solo verse contributed a different color of sorrow to the song and when they both joined together in other verses, it was like mixing chemistry together and creating a wonderful combustion of flavor and power. When I listened to Sa's solo version, yes, Sa introduced a different vibe to the song, but for some reason, it seems more complete as the Twins version. Perhaps it's just me but in the Twins version, it's so strong and emotional whereas Sa's solo version, which is just as beautiful but something seems to be lacking, perhaps the combining strength of Gillian's voice? blink.gif But I have to honestly say, while listening to the Twins version, it was very emotional in that, it's been so long since I've heard both Twins blend in with each other so perfectly. Both Twins sang as one, not as two, that makes a whole world of difference. The last song I heard with that effect was Kite and Wind and now, You're Not A Good Lover. As for the rest, I'm not so sure if there was/is/going to be as much chemistry.

Me too. I demand a music video for Gillian's solo. blush.gif Seems like the going to be released music videos are decent. Plugging the solo and making a high quality music video by inviting someone special would be good methods to promote Gillian's solo, if EEG decides to do that. sweat.gif

Go Gillian~ yeah.gif

Go Gillian~ yeah.gif

Hopefully, that will be the case. You know, EEG loves that slogan of how this person is the next whoever, so if resembling Vivian could let Gillian fish out some extra promotions, I wouldn't mind it. whistle.gif It's really nice that Gillian's been complimented that she resembles Vivian while singing, so hopefully she'll be able to reach some place close to where Vivian is in the future, with the support of EEG to plug her solo. This song cannot just be a song on the album. It's too good to be. down.gif

Seriously, songs like this solo are what Gillian should be singing. She shouldn't be singing all these simplified, happy dandy songs. Her solo is the song that shows her real potential. Her voice was able to flow out naturally along with the emotions. I would definitely want this to have a fair shot at the charts. I want to see if Gillian can handle herself with what she can do alone. I want to see how Gillian is able to capture the audience, then perhaps she could become one of those artistes like Vivian and Kelly who no one really hates and everyone accepts in the future with her potential. blush.gif

Perhaps the best way for Twins to synchronize to is have them be themselves. Gillian went with her comfortable way of portrayal with the higher notes while Charlene was comfortable with her standard notes, and the song came out beautifully synchronized. Before that, they've always been required to meet at some point along the scale when they joined together at verses. Now that they're finally letting the two of them do what they're capable and comfortable with, the outcome is much more relaxed instead of being so compressed that neither could breath. I like both versions of 'You Are Not A Good Lover', but it just seems like the duet version is stronger, perhaps because of the stronger melody, because of Gillian's high pitches, or because of the stronger bond of voices. Gillian's voice really was just supporting in the song, but it did make a difference.

Yes, what did we say would happen if Gillian got the chance to sing something beyond the simplified songs of Twins? rolleyes.gif Her solo has brought out her potential; Gillian should get more opportunities to sing songs like her solo instead of the usual Twins songs. I've been trying to promote this song every way I can; I shared the radio version at some chinese forums last night. It was nice that the responses I got were positive; they all agreed it's a good song. tongue.gif I even made my cousin listen to this, and she couldn't even believe that it was sung by Gillian because it's so non-Twins. sweat.gif She said it was awesome. blush.gif This ballad is definitely plug song material; I'm sure it could do something on the charts if it was plugged. Gillian's improvements and jump out of simplified songs is a big highlight of the song. It would be such a waste if this ballad is just a song on the album. down.gif I'm still glad Gillian has this under her belt though.

Well, obviously Gillian fans would prefer the duet version while Charlene fans would obviously prefer the solo version. Yeah, I guess they understand how we felt all along now that something less fair happened to Charlene, eh? I'd like to think that the solos are some kind of foreshadowing, but the same thing happened with 'Next Stop Diva Queen', so I'm not sure if it's made for future plans or just EEG trying to hit the jackpot with an old strategy. When you look at Gillian and Charlene, Charlene's still quite ahead by far. Gillian doesn't have any solo films this year in the acting area while Charlene still technically has a solo song, but there's another version of it with someone else. The song will also be plugged; even though some claim that Gillian is supposedly stealing the spotlight, how would she be? Charlene is still leading the song as a whole; unless they see Gillian as that big of a threat that even when she sings as a supporting voice, she can still steal the show, then I don't see what they're worrying about. The stealing credits part, I think these situations only happen when a singer starts composing/writing songs. If people are going to put it that way, then what about all those composers/lyricists out there having all these singers sing their songs? Mind them, the composers actually do sing a demo version of their composed work, but they are then passed on to singers to sing officially. Are they stealing the credits? No, the composer/lyricist still gets credited. If Charlene keeps up her work, she could go for the composer award, and the credit is hers to take. No one's here to steal it. As a conclusion, it's just like how we weren't fond of Gillian's mistreatment; it is EEG's arrangement and nothing to do with Charlene. Now with the duet version of Charlene's song, it's still EEG's arrangement and not Gillian's fault. It's not like Gillian forced people to let her sing it.

The only beef I really had was when people said that making the song as a Twins version was a disadvantage for Gil because I really couldn't figure out why including her in the song put her at a disadvantage =/ That aside, in the begining I wasn't really feeling Sa's solo being made in a Twins versions because I knew their was going to comparisons...If people feel that Twins version is better, they might come to conclusion that Charlene depends on Gil to make the song better, which I don't think is much a fair assumption to make, because we have not heard Sa sing with Gil in her solo, which might sound as good as Twins song too. I think it's the way they combined Twins voices in the Twins version that made it so great. In Diva Ah Hey, I hated the Twins version (and not because I am a Charlene fan because when I first heard the song I was just being introduced to Twins) but because it didn't sound like it should be a duet. They just really added Gil's voice in on top of Sa's and it came out as weird in my opinion. It still sounded like it was designed to be a solo song even when it was a duet. But, after hearing the Twins version I don't mind it all, because they made it sound really nice...and although they are the same song, they both bring a different feel to the song. And in my opinion, they are equally as good...I cannot decide which I like better, and therefor I have come to the conclusion that neither of them are better to me. They are the same songs...but different, and different in good ways.

Anyway, I am pretty tired so I only read this one post, but I will probably reply to more tomorrow because I totally love this album and am always in the mood to discuss it with others ^^

Maybe then Gillian can invite someone to star in her MV. Or it's okay if there's no guest star, but I'd at least want it to make some nice, close-up shots of Gillian in a beautiful setting.

I don't want to be ripped off, but I feel like I want to support the album. sweat.gif

'Conceited' is track six. Yes, she only started two songs.

Well hope they don't. Hope they make a new plot MV for Gillian's solo. But if they do have a guest star maybe they'll use Steven.

If there isn't a second verison (I doubt it) then I'll go buy this. Since on 10.2 I have to go out anyways, so I'll check the store.

"Conceited" sounds nice! But I like track 4 more than that. But basically I like all the slow songs clapping.gif

I'm going have to start promoting this song. What do you guys think if I put it as my background song for my site? sweat.gif Maybe we could feature this song in the EGO site as well! infatuated.gif

I love the climax of the song, well the whole song but the climx was just so powerful! Thanks for the lyrics, this song and lyrics are beautiful. You know what I noticed, both the mandarin and this solo is about moving on from a break-up innocent.gif but one is more upbeat while this one is a ballad and more emotional.

QUOTE(asillysaint @ Sep 22 2006 10 53 PM)

Go Gillian~ yeah.gif

Recently, Gillian and Charlene's voice seemed to sound more similar. I guess if have to do how Charlene's voice used to be more loud and deep as she sings but now, her techique of singing had became softer.

Oh, that's a nice interpretation of her two different protrayals. I agree with you totally and I love how Gillian protrayed her voice for both songs!

QUOTE(Little_Purple_Bell @ Sep 22 2006 11 54 PM)

Yes, hopefully this will be their third plug after 'You Are Not A Good Lover'. Even if it can't make it for this year, I'd hope for them to plug this song first thing next year, as a brand new start. Charlene will definitely be getting some recognition with her film roles, so Gillian should be able to shine in the music industry. Good comparison, I agree that such a good song should be able to be shown out to the public. It should be plugged, and Gillian should have several chances to perform it live. I'd like to see what Gillian can do with this song during a live performance; she can usually add new elements to songs live. I think another reason of why this solo sounds so good is because her voice isn't as compressed as the usual Twins songs. Gillian's voice could actually expand even on this CD version. 'If Not Him, I Won't Marry' is being very well-accepted; I've been browsing around chinese forums for comments. The Baidu chart should be for all songs, but it usually takes longer for Cantonese songs to get on it than Mandarin songs. Hopefully, Gillian will be able to prove some justice towards her solo singing; on the Baidu chart is fine, but I would want to see it on some HK charts. If this solo marks Gillian's new beginning as a solo singer, then I will also have no complaints. If Gillian has the opportunity to spread her wings and fly, I'll be more than pleased. tongue.gif I really want this song to be promoted, for Gillian's emotions, for Gillian's singing techniques, for the meaningful lyrics, for the catchy tune, EVERYTHING!

Same here. We just had a bad first impression, but the rest of the album is quite good. blush.gif Yep, Gillian just has some luck on her; she just gets the best out of the worst situations. Not sure if that makes sense. sweat.gif I'm glad Ronald chose this song for her; it fit Gillian perfectly! yeah.gif He was also able to show some of Gillian's inner potential of maturing as a singer with this song. blush.gif

I love the lyrics of Gillian's solo as well. They're so deep and meaningful. It also shows that Gillian handled the emotions very well; they were just pouring out throughout. infatuated.gif

It's be such a bummer and lost to Gillian and EEG (<--lolx..I typed EGG and didn't realize until I'm done with the paragraph) for not plugging this song. I mean they are wasting such a good song from expanding and reaching non-Twins fans' ears. Pity that Gillian would not be able to clear her name of being a bad singer with a weak voice from those hater's! Well, I'm sure if EEG doesn't plug this song, we have our own ways cool.gif

It makes me wonder if Ronald was gulity for fogetting Gillian's composition and gave such song to Gillian as an apology innocent.gif

Personally, I don't mind the comparisons because both versions are obviously nice in their own ways; it just depends on a personal preference of which one you like. Just as you prefered the solo version of 'Next Stop Diva Queen', I prefered the duet version; ironically, I heard the solo version before the duet version. sweat.gif The two versions of 'You Are Not A Good Lover' are produced differently than the two versions of 'Next Stop Diva Queen'. 'Next Stop Diva Queen' could really just be a solo or a duet because they sang the same way with the same melody, and there isn't a significant difference, but in the duet version of 'You Are Not A Good Lover', Gillian and Charlene obviously sang at two different scales with more bass added into the melody, so it sounded more frantic than the calming solo version of Charlene's. I think both versions are equally good as well, but I like the duet version a bit more because there just seems to be something extra in there. I like frantic songs. blush.gif

Aw sweet. Lucky fans! lol... thanks for the pictures michelle =)

Anyway, I still haven't had the chance to completely listen to every song in the new album, but I have to say it's impressing already. I didn't expect this album to have so many good songs. Funny thing is the three songs that were released before the album came out are the only three songs that I don't like. lol, so I was definitely suprised when I heard 'Your not a good lover', 'If not him, I won't Marry, and a few others. It was like 'Wow' blink.gif these songs are in the same album? Hopefully this album can help Twins redeem themselves and gain back some fans. Personally, I don't think their last few albums really helped them much, maybe even made them lose fans. These songs in Ho Hoo Tan, are very un-Twinish and more mature than what they've been accustomed to.

I've said this a lot of times already but I just can't help myself, I love Gillian's solo! thumbsup.gif It really proves that she can sing! If EEG knows what's good for them, they should plug it. Though, what do they know? lol... well we can always promote it online. So it's not a big problem. Hopefully, that will be the case.

I want to see how Gillian is able to capture the audience, then perhaps she could become one of those artistes like Vivian and Kelly who no one really hates and everyone accepts in the future with her potential. blush.gif
Gillian finally cracked a bit of the barriers with this solo, hopefully, soon, Gillian will be able to completely break away with other challenging songs. Man, hopefully, Mani and EEG has been receiving nothing but compliments about Gillian resembling Vivian and beign aware how favored and adored Vivian is in Hong Kong, that will knock some sense into them and finally promote Gillian in hopes of achieving the same success as Vivian or even better. blush.gif

This solo has been the only song so far that has challenged Gillian's emotions, versatile voice, and quality of her potential. Everything was perfect but if I was Gillian's producer, I would have definitely added more vibratos when Gillian was reaching the high notes and more towards the end of each verse; that would have guaranteed Gillian a spot as a legend as a newcomer, solo. But knowing Gillian's management, it's difficult to persuade them to encourage Gillian on full scale singing.

If this song is plugged along with a few live performances, Gillian will definitely be able to clear her name. Her solo is one of those songs that are able to capture non-fans, so they better not waste such a good song. If they don't plug it, then we'll be sure to promote it in every way we can. yeah.gif Well, hopefully EEG does plug it. blush.gif
Oh, I am just dying to hear a LIVE performance. Do you guys think that Twins will begin singing these new Cantonese songs as they continue their World Tour and may come to the States for their very first concert? Perhaps not this year but next year since the concerts have already been booked with other artists. down.gif

Gill#1Fan: Thanks so much for the photos, Gillian looks like she's so relaxed and happy. blush.gif

megazerox: Thanks for all of the neat videos. I really admire how you find these videos, I can never be patient enough to search for these videos especially when Twins have so many repeated videos on YouTube. wacko.gif

Go Gillian~ yeah.gif

gil's singing teacher?? christine rite?? i thought she is both twins' teacher not just gil...ummmm

Yes, Christine Samson is Gillian and Charlene's singing teacher, but she was Gillian's singing teacher before Charlene because Charlene used to be taught by Teresa Caprio but later switched over to Christine Samson. That's what I meant in the post, that Charlene switched over to the teacher who taught Gillian during this year.

Gillian finally cracked a bit of the barriers with this solo, hopefully, soon, Gillian will be able to completely break away with other challenging songs. Man, hopefully, Mani and EEG has been receiving nothing but compliments about Gillian resembling Vivian and beign aware how favored and adored Vivian is in Hong Kong, that will knock some sense into them and finally promote Gillian in hopes of achieving the same success as Vivian or even better. blush.gif

Hopefully, that is the case. Mani and EEG are bound to be aware of how the public is taking things about artistes, and if Gillian's solo is being regarded as a good song by most, then it should be prove something to them. I mean, they would want someone who could compare to Vivian in their company, wouldn't they? Even though I prefer more original ideas, but it wouldn't hurt if EEG did have the heart to push Gillian to a place where Vivian is, and Gillian still wouldn't lose her originality. Would it be great if they continue to let Gillian try out more challenging songs because she proved she can handle this one?

I couldn't agree more. Any other song that Gillian has done before, it's compressed her voice down with some simplified standards. Now with her solo, Gillian finally meets a challenge to her singing. Her voice can naturally flow out as it should without being pressed down. I hope she'll get more chances to exceed this. blush.gif I'd say if Gillian is actually a newcomer, and she came out with a song like this as her debut, she would definitely be able to mark a spot for herself.

I think it's possible that they'll be inserting some of these news songs into their upcoming concerts; that's what they usually do, but I'm not too certain about Gillian's solo. They would definitely sing 'Summer Holidays' since it's a plug song, they'll definitely sing 'You Are Not A Good Lover' because it's their 2nd plug, and they may sing 'I Don't Save Money' because it's a promotional song for X-box. Those are the three main songs of the album, so they might not sing any other songs unless they keep the solo parts in.

I listened to almost all of the songs in Twins latest album and I must say I'm impressed, even though I don't understand Cantonese happy.gif ", I can feel how emotional they were, singing the songs and solos, for their ballads. The feelings potrayed were extremely good and they have improved loads in the aspect of singing. I really enjoyed both Charlene's & Gillian's solo. infatuated.gif

And when I was listening to Ho Hoo Tan, their album, my mum heard both Charlene and Gillian's solo, she didn't know it was them singing, and asked whether If Not Him, I Won't Marry, was sung by Joey Yung and later she commented that Joey was a good singer. Well, I haven't heard Joey's songs before, but I know most people says that Joey Yung is the the most talented in EEG while the others were so-so. So this must meant Gillian really sang well in her solo, hopefully EEG will recognise Gillian's talent and give her more such songs to sing, it would be incredible, if EEG can allow Gillian to sing a mandarin solo like If Not Him, I Won't Marry, she will defintely gain alot more fans globally yeah.gif

And hopefully, her solo gets plugged. Well, I am kinda new to EEG, so can anyone fill me with the answers to my questions, how many versions of the album will EEG make? And which version is the best? I want to buy the album with all of their music videos they make for Ho Hoo Tan. Thanks! hug.gif

Gill#1Fan: Thank you for psoting the pictures! Twins looked like they enjoyed the BBQ very much biggrin.gif

megazerox: Hey, thanks for the link! I am gonna watch the video -runs off-
