Actually, I wasn't meaning at the TVB series. I know that TVB series don't pay much; they only provide exposure in HK. I was talking about Mainland series. Mainland series are really good paying because they pay on a per episode basis, and depending who you are, the pay could differ. For EEG artistes like Gillian and Nicholas, etc., the pay would obviously be quite good. The thing is that Mainland series don't really provide recognition nor exposure in HK, so that's why I believe it's for the salary. If we're talking about TVB series, then it's different. The artiste would only be getting more exposure in HK, and as some may say, it enlarges their chance in getting an award at the TVB awards ceremony for singers. Hope you understand what I mean.

I mind of Gillian being in the series as well as everyone else. Gillian's previous series was acceptable because we at least know that it would be somewhat be a serious drama of where Gillian could develop her acting skills in because there is a novel of it, but with this one, serials with Dicky in it tend to have bad comedy included. I don't mind watching Dicky, but it's true that his recent serials have all been along those lines of comedy, so I'm not confident at all that this will be different. I've found out that this 'ancient' serial is going to have its plot based on a previous modern film, thus its modern title. Promising? No.

Or better yet, Gillian should get some say in this. She should not have to take on the consequences of Isabella being frozen. Just because they froze Isabella and WJ wants Gillian as the replacement, Gillian has to do it? What does it have to do with Gillian? Gillian was just doing her own jobs, and all of a sudden, she has to clean up the mess that she didn't make? Exactly, if you wish to make it sound nicer about WJ series with the sense of 'mo liu' in it, then it's bad comedy. But if you wish to make it sound more blunt, it's called cheap. Gillian should be able to go back to films already; filming serials isn't her main route.

*sigh* Anyway, those are beautiful icons. I like the first one the most; Gillian looks so natural, and the effects you made to them are really nice.

Hopefully if Gillian does get the role (hopefully not), that her role will be very limited, like very few scenes , so that way, she won't need to be at Mainland that much, so if she does get the Starlight Star movie, she can be in it! Yes, that is a highlight on the deal if Gillian absolutely HAS to take the role, of which I'm sure most of still hope she doesn't. I really hope that this role is limited as well; maybe enough for people to notice her, but not enough for her to dwell in Mainland. I guess since the role was for Isabella, so maybe the schedule won't be that screwed up. I just hope it won't clash with Gillian's film offers.

Gillian didn't start filming her part in her previous serial the day that the serial officially started filming either. The role may not be needed that early, so EEG still has time to decide if they're sending Gillian in Isabella's place. I don't know if the role is main/supporting, or somewhere in between the two. Either way, that isn't the point, but it just depends on EEG's decisions.

Uh huh, right I see nothing good about filming this series. It's both a waste of Gillian's time and our time for having to watch it Acting in serials is a much faster way to get popular massively, but when it's casting, director, and script is sounding so bad... I don't know. I really hope that one of these days, if Gillian has to be forced to film series, then hopefully it's a TVB series and one with a good storyline. It could really help her in her career. For now though, I guess we'll just have to look on the bright side, it's kind of foggy but yeah, maybe these mainland series can gain Gillian some more fans in the area, since China is so big.

I think so too, but the thing is, I don't think Gillian has much say in all of this. It's more of EEG's decision, in which their decision never makes sense to me. Yeah let's hope the WJ series isn't too bad.

For the all-star pictures OMG! some pictures of them playing basketball with another two people (I guess it was two on two) it's so funny the way their playing. oh i thought you meant TVB series Little_Purple_Bell i get what you're saying...actually as i've said before in my post: "with wong jing there's always a good/bad side because wong jing is capable of pulling out a great production (i.e. Colour of the truth) when he's not trying to be stupidly funny or just making parodies of other good films" and i guess the new series has just totally leaned towards the latter and that just really pis*es me off because gillian doesn't need to be in a series where wong jing's both "stupidly funny" and "making parodies" and gill's not even the lead??? i get where all of the dissaproval is coming from from everybody here and i'm really starting to feel it myself now that i've read the details of the new series...seriously hopefully gill doesn't get pushed into doing this series. and for the question of why wong jing is always trying to get gill into his productions...my guess is that he's mesmerized by her beauty and abilities (like most everyone else) but i just wish he'd sort of back off and only contact her if he's actually got something good.

Yes, surprisingly we're happy that the role isn't the main lead. It might not be that bad if Gillian takes on the role since it won't take up that much of her time. I still hope that she passes on it, but if she can't avoid it, we can only hope for the best of her. I just don't want it to effect her presence in HK or her schedule of accepting films.

I'm still hoping that EEG has second thoughts on this since they haven't revealed anything further yet. Hopefully, they can just pay them back and end the contract. EEG likely has a lot of cash, and since it's already such a big loss to freeze Isabella, why would it matter that they pay for one more thing? Hm, sounds mean, but whatever.


Yeah, hopefully they were just exaggerating on the role. I mean, the media/promoting methods always exaggerate the weight of the role if a singer's going to play it. Edison's role in 'Eight Heroes' is more than a good example. We see his photo huge on the poster, he's standing in the middle, his name's listed first, but he appears for seven episodes. Hopefully, that's the same case for this role. Edison's role in 'Eight Heroes' did have the main spotlight for the time that he was present. It wasn't time consuming, and you get the spotlight. If Gillian absolutely has to take it, then I hope it'll be like that for her. The role should be good for a schedule since I'm certain EEG wouldn't have wanted Isabella to miss film offers because of a serial?

I agree that WJ isn't completely bad. When he doesn't add cheap elements in his products, as in 'Colour Of The Truth', the outcome is good. That film was overall good, despite Gillian's limited screentime. It's kind of dumb of how WJ doesn't seem to like to try more of these serious, 'good' productions. I still don't like WJ because of the fact that he made a big chunk of contribution to how people refer to Gillian as a vase. Now, if he did better productions, then I don't think we'd be objecting so much about him requesting Gillian all the time. It's more like if he feels that Gillian would be good to have in a film or has potential, he should actually leaving her alone to act in other films than his own. Does that make any sense?

Perhaps Gillian will endure another sorrowful death scene? Hopefully, next to Stephen, not Dicky. I would rather see Gillian fall for Stephen than Dicky in this series if Gillian has to replace Isabella. Perhaps Wong Jing will have a better wardrobe for Gillian in this one but eh, highly unlikely. Pirates? That sounds hilariously ridiculous. Well, at least Gillian won't be in Mainland for too long but wonder why Stephen and not Nicholas again this time around? Technically, Nicholas has already built some type of Mainland fanbase and Stephen, well, his fanbase has never been as strong but hm, Stephen all of a sudden decides to film a series? Hm or perhaps, Mani purposely "froze" Isabella just to dodge this project and then later "unfreeze" her but this was the only way out, a replacement, Gillian. Hm, Mani must have bigger and better projects for Isabella if Isabella's frozen status is an EEG stunt (Darn, my post got deleted regarding this issue.); poor Gillian, she gets dragged into the worse situations.

In a recent news report about the basketball thing, the news had a picture of Gillian and put a caption under it, and it was talking about her legs. This is what it says:

What does it mean? Is it something mean? Or good, because judging from the past of people talking about her legs, it seems like it may be a mean comment.

It's mean. That statement basically means that because Gillian is in shorts, it shows her 'fat' legs. No wonder Gillian avoids wearing shorts; it's because of these little rude comments that aren't even true.

Anyway, I heard from a fan who went to the function, and she said that Gillian was the leader of her cheerleading team. Do you guys think that Gillian's jersey says 21 because of her birthday?

Fat legs? Are they blind? That's just plain rude and mean, especially when it isn't even true. I don't see how other people at the function have prettier legs than Gillian. They don't have anything to write about so they have to make a deal out of nothing. It's insulting. Low lifes.

I haven't been back here for so long. Actually I did drop by a few times but I didn't have time to post. This thread keeps building and now it's 85 pages. Anyways, the new pictures of Gillian is realllllllly pretty. I adore her outfit and Sa's outfit. Sun Boy'z looks great as well.

I do hope that Ah Gill doesn't take that project. Although Dicky is liked by many but his recent series are all really crappy comedy. If she takes a part and plays a secondary character who's paired up with someone then er...I won't be looking forward to it. EEG just can't accept a better role for her, can they????

Yup, Dicky's comedy has declined in terms of quality and depth. Ever since DOMD, Dicky has been portraying the same character and romance, the whole cute image thing, which has gotten really boring to watch. Hopefully, Gillian's character will be something refreshing, not comedic in this series if Gillian has to fulfill this character. I mean, since the series will already be comedic, Gillian's serious and dramatic character will stand out from the rest.

But I would't mind watching Gillian portraying an extremely cute and sassy role either, I haven't really.
