Twins will perform at the 8th annual CCTV MTV awards which will take place on Thursday in Beijing. This will be at the exhibition theater. There will also be other singers like Jay Chou, Joey Yung, Angela Chang and more!
They will be giving out 21 awards at the event. Hope they win something!

I'll begin, I'm 19. But age doesn't always come with wisdom; it's really how the person conducts oneself about the incidences and events that occur in one's life, like lose the battle but don't lose the lesson cliche. I admire and understand Gillian because I invest time in doing so but others, due to a certain degree of hatred towards Gillian, they can't let go of that and just can't see Gillian Chung for who she is but either as a celebrity, an entertainer, a pretty face, or just a part of Twins they despise.

Honestly, I'm not going to discuss about Sa's dance period, whether it be at this thread or Sa's thread; somehow, comments about Sa coming out from Gillian fans always gives Sa fans at this board a reason to complain. I mean, view the Sa thread, instead of remaining a Sa thread, it has become a thread made for 'Let's complain about Gillian Fans' so I prefer to be out of that circle. The quality isn't that great but I love how Gillian hit every note quite well. From my observation and nothing personal, Sa began off her verse quite low (perhaps not having performed this song officially yet, Sa was quite unsure on how the level of notes should be) and since Gillian followed Sa's format, that's why Gillian began the first two lines of her solo verse quite low as well up until ming hin ngoh sun dak do oi ching hau..., Gillian then sang higher like the CD version; Gillian's transition was quite audible. As for 'gik ho bun', seems like both Twins sang it together all throughout but because that was originally Sa's part, Gillian controlled her volume so that it won't stand out as much as Sa's but Gillian's high voice served as Sa's buffer in those high portions of the song.

I think both Twins are still quite weak in performing this song. They both need to make minor brush ups minus the fuzzy background noise. But one thing, I LOVED it when Gillian sang ' fa do' so high and straight. Thanks for sharing.

I am 17, but asillysaint made a great point about how maturity and wisdom doesn't only revolve around age. There are people who are more mature at a young age, but there are also people who act immature even though they are older in age. I suppose it has something to do with how one is brought up, and generally how the person views and handles things. As asillysaint said, it sums down to whether the person learns the lesson or not after they run into a problem.

I believe we write as though we understand Gillian is because she teaches us things as people. As we follow on the magazine interviews she has and the answers she contributes, lessons of life come flowing out from it. From that, we as fans have a better understanding of Gillian Chung, and we're benefiting in our personal lives because of what she told us. It's how I feel anyway.

I hope they do perform this song officially sometime. I would love to hear a better quality version. It seems as though they won't be singing their parts as assigned in the CD version because Gillian joined in with Charlene during the 'gik ho ban' and 'kei sat dong wuen gui, ngau yi wuen lui, joi yu wuen gui been wui seung jui'. Anyway, they probably just need more practice because they have been spending a lot of their time on dancing, so now that they have more time, they can practice more and come back with an excellent performance. When Gillian sang 'Fa Do' had always been a highlight in the song; it's so clear, high, and sweet. I look forward to listening to that part during a professionally recorded performance because it turned out to be a bit muffled in the clip.

I would imagine that they will perform this song quite a bit in the near future since it's their plug song, and Charlene composed it. It's a big selling point of the song. I follow the charts, and the only radio station that they have plugged the song onto is 903, but 903 is still favouring 'Summer Vacation' more. They're still playing 'Summer Vacation (Ho Hoo Jam Mix)' rather than focusing solely on 'You Are Not A Good Lover'. The JSG chart is usually the last one they send their plug songs to, so it might be a bit until it gets on JSG.

I don't think they would actually send Charlene away for film promotions during the four HK Award Ceremonies, unless it is absolutely necessary, because the four ceremonies are rather important. It might be possible if it was the less important award ceremonies or singing at functions/events, but I would think not for the important ones.

Yeah, I understood what you meant, but I hope for Gillian to sing her Cantonese solo more. As you have mentioned, her solo opportunities were all in Mainland (excluding the concert), so I would want to hear her sing a song in Cantonese. Preferably her solo since it is challenging, so I am quite curious on how she would deliver it live. I just really anticipate a solo performance from Gillian in Hong Kong because even HK people are beginning to agree that Gillian has been doing touch ups on her singing, such as strengthening her voice and exerting it in a broader horizon; I've seen comments as such at HK forums and a review of 'Ho Hoo Tan' from the newspaper. That is why a solo performance of her solo song would definitely score more points on Gillian's behalf. Hopefully, she will get some chances to sing solo because for some odd reason, 'Diary' is being premiered in various areas of China before HK. Gillian is going to be free during sometime this week because Charlene is heading to GuangZhou. Maybe she should start on promoting the songs off of their albums beforehand.

Oh no, I never meant it as you guys using an excuse or whatever, I was just saying that from my experiance, order has never made a difference in scores. But every person is different, so it is reasonable for people to come to that conclusion. I just didn't think much of it 'cause of my experiances, but it's understandable why someone would. So no misunderunderstandings, just bad communication on my part!

I think a lot of Sa fans are just upset with some Gillian fans right now. I am only upset with a certain few and they don't go on Af It's another forum where some fans drive me INSANE. Most of the fans at the Charlene place are really not that bad, though as a Gillian fan I can see why you would avoid the place. I, too, use to avoid this thread because some fans wrote comments that drove me crazy. It's not right to label all Gillian fans as one entity, and I hope Sa fans are not doing that. I just browsed through the Charlene thread before posting this, and it seems like most of the people were not talking about fans of this thread, but I could have not read carefully enough.

Anyway, enough about fans. It's all really complex, there are so many misunderstandings that can get blown out of proportion when dealing with fans, so it is hard to discern their true feelings.

Yeah, I'm wondering about that too. It seems like news about it has died down. I'm guessing that it's either that the role is small so Gillian doesn't have to go yet, or they were just using Gillian as an advertising tactic for the serial. Hopefully, it's the second choice. Even though Gillian supposedly will get more screentime in a serial than a film, but what can she possibly do to improve her acting or what not when this is a serial made up of bad comedy? The peeping incident? It is still going on politically. The human rights groups are still on it, but really what they were able to do was just forbid Gillian's photos to be printed again. Nothing has been done to forbid another person getting hurt. 'EasyFinder' was even ridiculous enough to object to the court's punishments of making them seal their magazine in a plastic bag. Is it so hard to get these problems solved and settled?

Haha, you thought I was the oldest? I don't blame you though; I admit we all do write quite formally in here. I actually like it that way; sometimes you just come across some kind of 'online writing', and you'd straining your eyes out just to figure out what the person wrote. It's nice to write formally because it's easy for others to read, and you can train your own writing; it's just my opinion though. What can I say? Gillian is simply really attractive, not just as an artiste, but as a person too. At least that's how I feel about her.

Steven and Gillian were so funny! Around 8:25, Steven was being interviewed, and he said it was his first on-screen kiss. Then they showed clips of Steven and Gillian's 'kiss', and the behind the scenes of it. They were leaning closer and closer into their 'kiss', but when the director yelled, "Cut!" They broke out in laughter. Steven then said, "I told you I was sacrificing for fine arts. . ." Gillian replied, "Yeah! I'm sacrificing right now! Don't you see it?!" Steven responded, "Then why don't you 'sacrifice' one more time?!", and then he held up the peace sign with a cheeky smile! Afterwards, they finally revealed that Kenny was Steven's first on-screen kiss, and not Gillian.

I agree. Gillian sounded shaky while singing in the low notes; they were lower than they were supposed to be in the CD version. When Gillian came back with her high notes, she sounded CD quality. Her voice sounds decent in low notes if she's singing in Mandarin, like her duet with Alan, but I guess it's not quite that way with Cantonese? Cantonese somewhat feels like it's harder to sing in than Mandarin. Yeah, Gillian sang 'ming heen nei' instead of 'sui ji nei'. You could catch that little glimpse of hesitation happening there. I hope she'll be given more time to get familiar with the lyrics.

Hm, perhaps GreenButterfly is because she mentioned that she is getting into Med School, and that is why she has to leave to pursue her future career. It doesn't really matter about age because we love Gillian all the same, but I do admit that there seems to be more freedom to contribute support when we get older.

That part of the clip is so amusing to me. I've watched it over a few times already. I love it when Gillian is around Steven; there's always something funny that goes on between them.

What sort of programs do you want suggestions for?

I find it better to write formal too. There's a lot of threads that tend to only have posts like "I love whoever and they're so pretty." I mean, that's fine and all, but it doesn't leave room for much discussion, just random shout outs. Age doesn't matter as long as we all support Gillian. It was just my curiosity that led me to ask that question.

Gillian does seem a bit shaky during the beginning, but when the high notes came, she performed it well. Hope to hear her sing the song again during award shows. I find Gillian really adorable during the interview though, lol.

Maybe the reason Gillian has a harder time singing lower notes in Cantonese is because she's more fluent in Cantonese than Mandarin. Like when I sing S.H.E's "Zi Teng Hua" song, I can sing the low notes because I don't understand the language, but I have a hard time singing the same notes in Vietnamese.

I think Char fans and Gil fans should just get along with each other, because if you've been a Twins fan for a while, you would know Char cares for Gil a lot and vise versa. A real Twins fans would appreciate their friendship and not say rude things about Char if you are a Gil fan and about Gil if you are a Char fan. Seeing some of you Gil fans' comments, I saw that some people think that Char and Gil don't like each other and don't get along well. People who said this are definiately not twins fans. Sa and Gil were best friends before they formed a group! Since the first day they met, they were togehter most of the time and it's not because of work, it's because they enjoy each other's company. They started buying the same clothes and Mani named them "Twins" partly because of that. Remember when Char gave Gil a watch with both of their name carved on the back? Remember when Char designed the necklace with Gil's name on it? Remember when Char gave gil ice-cream and chips when she cried when she got down from the wiring? Remeber when Gil mailed Char a coat because she was afraid Char would be cold when filiming "A Chinese Tall Story"? Remember when gil told the reporters to move away when Char fainted? Remember when Gil said Char always tried to make her happy when she was sad? These are acts of friendship, and Char even said that their relationship was beyond brokeback? They even share the same bottle of water! You call that not friendship?! If you like Char more than Gil, that's okay, but it does not mean you have to post negative somments about Gil and vise versa. Right now it's seems like we fans are fighting each other and it shouldn't be happening...

Sugar88, what you said is true. There really shouldn't be so much tension between Gillian and Charlene fans. I, myself wouldn't consider myself as being a Twins fan, because really I'm not, I favor Gillian and I want the best for her. Sometimes what I say, may sound offending to those that support Charlene, but I really don't mean to be. I have nothing against her. It's the way the company does things that annoy me, and to make things worse, there are a few Charlene fans, notice I'm only saying a few, that says things that make me really just want to punch them. lol, I don't want to be violent, but there are times when they make me that angry. It would be wonderful if everyone could get along, but that is kinda impossible, considering we all see things differently. So, for myself, to avoid conflict, I try to only go to places where we talk about Gillian and only Gillian, that way I won't feel bad when someone says something negative about Gillian and of course vice versa. =)

Oh wow, this thread moves fast! Seriously, another reason why I love you guys so much. We've never met before in real life, but I'm not lying when I say you guys have become an important part of me. Chatting with you guys is what makes it special to be a Gillian fan and I'm a very proud one.

Well, it's not exactly unfair. The outcome of the wax figures really depend on the person who made it. The outfits are from their concert.

I find it a bit impossible for them to release another Mandarin album during this year. They have only released their last one not too long ago. Even artistes who have China and Taiwan as their main market don't release albums that frequently. Unless they are going to release another one next year. 'Hover Bird' was put aside for quite a bit until it was finally released on their latest Mandarin album. Personally, I think it would be a better idea if they added songs to the album in the 2nd version. Not that I like the idea of 2nd versions, but if they add more things such as more songs and MVs, it wouldn't feel like that much of a rip off. Taking off the first 3 MVs show how big of a rip off it is. Anyway, I'm pretty certain that there will be a 2nd version because they have at least 2 MVs that haven't been released yet. It just depends on when and what else they'll put on it, if they do.

Their "Twins" contract was said to end 2007, but they could always renew it. The individual contracts were never specifically disclosed.

That was what the contents were said to be, but then they cancelled it off. It was taken off of Yesasia. There hasn't been news about it since. I don't know if those are still the contents, or will they be altered.

I just found this thread and sorta read through it. I gotta say, I think Gillian is really beautiful and all, but what some of you have said about her being tough and determined is totally not what I see of her. What was so tough and strong about her crying her eyes out in front of the photographers over those indecent pics of her published in that tabloid? She's a 25-year-old woman, for god's sake! She may look beautiful on the outside, but that one incident really showed how weak she is. And not to mention how even now she still talks like she's 13 years old! I don't care how sophisticated or glamourous she looks in her photos. As Hedy Lamarr, a truly beautiful and intelligent actress once said, "Any girl can be glamorous. All you have to do is stand still and look stupid." And you'll see, in many of her function pics, she and Charlene are always standing there smiling dumbly at the camera, every picture of them bears the same image of the SAME grin, over and over again, at every function!

And someone metioned something about how Gillian is so dedicated to her work. Well if she was really that dedicated, you would see it in her actions and not only in her words. She's never put her entire self into her roles; instead, she picks the ones that would make her look the prettiest. From what I've seen of her work, she always looks stiff in her roles, mostly because she's probably too worried about appearing "unwomanly" on film. And don't tell me that EEG restricts her choice in roles and scripts--ok, maybe they have done that, but that could be for a myriad of reasons, maybe because EEG doesn't think she's ready for mature roles as she simply doesn't have the acting chops. Simply said, she's a bad actress. You can tell she doesn't act from her heart. She's just going through the motions, and sometimes her acting is so bad it makes me cringe. You guys just give her too much credit where none is due.

Well, most probably your views on being strong and tough is about not revealing your emotions and all. But ours aren't, I think Gillian is really strong. And I think being strong is not about not revealing your emotions [I don't how you definte 'strong', so maybe there will be conflicts over it], I think crying is a reflection of your heart, it reflects your toughness. Crying isn't weak, crying is a kind of strength. It takes courage to cry infront of everybody [millions of people], it takes courage to break that facade you put on for your fans and for everyone. It takes courage to crawl out of your shell. And it takes even more strength and courage to pick yourself up after a great painful fall. And for that, I think Gillian is really strong and courageous.

At least smiling and putting up a fake big grin is better than frowning. Even though, it isn't a geniune smile, but at least it was still a smile, sometimes, when you are depressed, even a forced smile can lift your spirits up, and at least she smiled because she didn't want her fans to worry about her.

The roles are not picked by her, if it was picked by her, I think she wouldn't have chose that Wong Jing serial , cause it wouldn't bring her more fans. I mean all humans would definetely prefer something better than what they are having, even if they are satisified with what they have right now and by taking up that Wong Jing serial, it is decreasing her chances of getting another much better film, Starlight Star.

I think the reasons to why she look stiff could have been she was worrying if her acting skills weren't up to standards and she would receive a scolding from the director or something, I mean I face such situations before, when I know I can do this thing, but I ended up screwing it because I was scared and nervous of other's people negative comments.

EEG doesn't give her chances , even if she wants to try and improve herself, I think she really does, because when she is given her solo she tried her best thus producing such beautiful solo. Everyone need challenges and opportunities to improve, if EEG just keep giving her the 'pretty vase' role, of course she can't max her potential to the best.

Oh I can't understand y Starburst talked abt Gill like that . I don't agree with u . If Gill was a bad actress, people wouldn't come 2 c her films . But the fact iz when Gill acts in some films, many people come 2 c . It means she's not a bad actress . I think that Gill has been improving herself a lot .
