An actress full of potential, talent, charisma..yes, she is..she has the potential to broaden her market in the acting area as a da-nui(fighting) as we didnt really know much abt her other talents since she isnt given the chance to act in other roles as mentioned. and ya, it is evident that ah sa's voice is louder, its like gillian is backing her up( as backgrd), but have euu guys wonder y?

everything we hear on CD are digitalized ? well..maybe, yes..so u mean they make gil's voice softer and ah sa's voice louder? If there is a need for the use of modern technology to equalise their voice, doesnt this means that it is evident that gil's voice is softer and weaker? If one has the power or able to make use of her/his diaghram(spelt wrong?heehee), she too, can sing loud. And many live performance proved that gil is always softer and that ah sa and ah gil oftenly went out of tune. For eg. Singapore hits awards...when they performed for singapore National days. Tvb 8 on 031205?

it's their Mandarin album that went platinum..and since ah sa's voice is dominating, does it means all the effort and hard work are owe to her since her voice is the one that was heard? No...its team work isnt it?

Personally, i like gillian lots too, i like her be4 i even notice charlene while watching the monkey god because of her looks (opps don rem wad its called).Back to the topic, so why cant gil be the one dominating? why? thats simple, cos she wont be able to cope with it. i like Twins as a whole but regarding singing part, i think ah gil 's voice cant really make it. The acting part, both perform well, except that ah sa is always getting those funny+cute roles while gil isnt getting much chances. They have different markets and people to appeal to. Just because Gillian has a soft voice doesn't mean that her voice can't project louder so NO the whole concept of the equalizer doesn't indicate that her voice is weaker than Sa's. It does sound fishy but I really think that the producers and coordinators of Twins songs do purposely increase Sa's voice into a lead singer position. Because it doesn't matter if two extremely loud persons sang together, their voices will never equalize but during editing, technology can help equalize their voices so that's what I'm talking about.

So just because the song writers and coordinators of the Platinum Mandarin album didn't publically sing their own songs, does it mean that they deserve any less appreciation?? NO. So first of all, the Mandarin album behind the scenes, both Twins worked just as hard and invested just as much effort together incoporating teamwork BUT when the actual final product was released, it seems like the teamwork idea faded as Sa's voice dominated. So why does all the credit go to Sa when Gillian worked her butt off towards this album too but sadly, didn't get as promoted as Sa!

Gillian is a strong person. Not being able to cope with being the dominating one?? Sorry to say but that doesn't make any sense. Gillian is older, even Sa has admitted that Gillian can become extremely competitive and has more determination so wouldn't that cancel out the fear of being the lead??

Of course both Twins have a different market but still they're Twins?? So why is that Gillian is restricted to keep her pure image being older than Sa while Sa is able to choose whatever role she desires?? Yeah, yeah different industries of acting and singing but still, both are labled as Twins so wouldn't that matter??

Gillian can't change companies even if she's mistreated because first and foremost, EEG is supposedly a triad oriented corporation, everyone heard about Carina Lau so the last thing Gillian needs to do is upset them by demanding her rights. I'm sorry but as modernized as HK may be, males still dominate and rights aren't always issued. Yes, it may sound so Infernal Affairs like but that is the TRUTH. Second, look at Gillian fans, I mean they see and witness this bias treatment but nothing drastic has been done to correct the system so Gillian has no support for her fight in freeing herself. Third, Gillian still has a legal contract with them so she can't really do anything unless something dramatic occurs.

Acting roles?? Well, I don't care if Sa acts cute and bubbly forever while Gillian is the cold kungfuish type...gosh darn it, just have equal screentime for crying out loud.

Well, those magazines announcing that Gillian has been receiving less and less jobs?? Those less and less jobs are just the projects that the public sees but who knows why if EEG turned down a lot of her activities/projects resulting in her jobless! Those magazines are totally influenced by EEG's power. Propaganda is everything!!! By having magazines advertise that Gillian is becoming less and less popular, EEG can easily freeze her claiming that she hasn't been productive towards the market so her plans are delayed!! And why all of a sudden the Twins Split was so hinted from Mani who is the representative of EEG in the midst of things?? EEG is just trying to do something stupid without much blame on their part. Yeah, blame it on Gillian's so called decreased popularity. Come on now. It doesn't take a whole lot of brain cells to predict.

Well, I don't care if whoever agrees or not but this is what I personally believe that is happening!!

I think I disagree with those sayings about Ah Sa being the lead singer in Twins songs, for I've listened to their songs, old ones and recent ones, and I definitely conclude that Gillian provides the main vocals in the majority of the Twins songs. It's only in random songs such as mentioned above, Starlight Carnival, where Ah Sa's voice is focused on more. There are songs such as Mice Love Big Rice where Ah Sa's voice acted as if she was a background singer singing along with Gillian's voice when they sing together. Other songs, you can surely tell there are two singing voices, but the one voice you hear as the main vocals is certainly the higher and clearer voice, which is none other than Gillian's voice.

If anyone has heard Gillian's new song with Kenny Kwan, Conscience Discovery (良心發現), you'll be able to discover that Gillian's voice is not only not weak, but also she does have enough breath in her stomach to go for the entire song. It was nice that Gillian's voice could actually stand equally with Kenny's voice, because Kenny's voice usually covers his partner's voice too much, as his voice always used to overcome Steven's voice when they sang together back when he was in Boy'Z. I really believe that whenever Twins are singing live, Gillian has to alter her voice for it to support and coordinate with Ah Sa's voice; therefore, leaving the impression of how her voice is weak, because during Gillian's solos and duets with a male singer, it's obvious of how Gillian projects her voice differently and stronger as when she sings with Ah Sa.

Ah Sa really isn't the one to blame, we can only blame that Ah Sa has a much luckier life than Gillian. Even Gillian's life before the showbiz wasn't all that great, her dad died when she was 1 and she only entered the showbiz to support her family, while Ah Sa has a dad who has business dealings with EEG; I read that he managed the financial issues with Twins concerts as well. Gillian had to wait for about 3 years before she can finally have a proper female leading role in a movie like Beyond Our Ken and House Of Fury. I remember watching Colour Of The Truth and Moving Targets for her and then just finding her to appear in about 10 scenes. I don't even wanna bother with Twins movies because we all know how the screentime will come out to be. Ah Sa just had leading roles all the way through, along with heavy promotion by EEG; Gillian had to gain all her fans and supporters by her own abilites and charm. But Gillian seems to be a very passive person, she's been asked in an interview of how she's always overshadowed by Ah Sa and replied by saying that she won't go to envy or be jealous, and just wants to do her own job and be happy for her partner. Ah Sa even thanked Gillian during one of their concerts for always having to put up with her; Ah Sa admitted that many times, she's really strong on her opinions and wants her own way, and Gillian is willing to let it pass by and try to coordinate with her.

Well, on some songs (more like the best songs Twins sing), Gillian does seem to have the upper hand and I'm so grateful for that.

You can't really judge either just from incident. Gillian has a lot to worry about so she can't repsond to every screaming fan out there.

Some people have encountered Sa and stated that Sa is stuck up and mean while others have claimed that Gillian is the snobby one so whatever!! Gosh, both do have lives too and not every situation you find them in is relaxing so give them a break!

^ I definitely agree. Gillian is very capable of singing live and sounding decent and strong at the same time, yet it only applies to when she's singing solo. Whenever she's with Ah Sa, that's when her random times of sounding off-key and weak and screwing up come out. Sometimes I wonder if this happens because she's deliberately sounding bad during performances with Ah Sa or just trying to let Ah Sa sing at her own key, therefore having to sing differently than she normally does because I know very well that that's not how she should sound. Just check out the 2004 concert, she was singing My Father And Mother decently and loudly and when she does her other songs with Ah Sa, she sounds weaker and quieter.

I think Gillian sounds softer and even sweeter when singing with Sa because Sa is usually portraying the male (stronger) part so therefore Sa projects her voice louder overcrowding Gillian's voice.

Gillian's voice sounds so good in this solo performance. I mean, in the beginning of the song, Gillian is quite uncertain how she will perform the song smoothly but as you notice, her voice gains confidence after a couple of lines and strongly remains firm all throughout the entire song even till the end.

I love her voice. Gillian's voice in Twins' new album is so sweet. Her singing almost made me cried because her singing is so beautiful when singing the high parts but hopefully, her live performance of the new songs will be just as great.

The songs are pretty good.

Gillian seems to be singing the higher parts of the songs lately while Sa is the usual lower keys. That's nice because Gillian does have the sweeter and softer voice while Sa has the deeper vocals.

I like track 2 (Kindergarten) but it seems like Sa has more lines (?) Gr, sorry I'm too protective of Gillian. It's a really nice song and I think this song is the most loved and favorite one so far but the parts aren't equal.

Yah, I am quite disapointed that Ah Sa got couple of movies to do already for this year but yet, none for Ah Gill so far I am looking forward to a movie with ah Gill as the main lead with lots of screen time. Like a romance comdey would be so great! hehe..k, I am dreaming but I do hope that EEG will give her a chance!! Charlene's voice might as well have been a background singer. Gillian usually has the upper hand in singing among Twins. At least EEG had the sense to give Gillian chances to sing solos and duets (My Father Mother, How Bad w/ Edison, Conscience Discovery w/ Kenny, How Many People Will Love One Person In One Lifetime w/ Kenny), but they just won't go to promote the song. They better film a MV for Conscience Discovery!

Gillian's popularity in HK is actually not any lower than Charlene's; in fact, I've read a piece of news back when TTE 2 was coming out that Gillian's popularity is actually racing past Charlene's; therefore, Twins is being endangered. If you've watched the 2004 concert, you'd hear that the audience was singing along loudly with Gillian while she was singing My Father, Mother. I couldn't hear as much people singing along to Next Stop Diva Queen. Parents like Gillian better because they think she's a better role model; my cousin told me that she was riding on the bus in HK, this little girl was asking her mom whether she should be like Ah Sa or Ah Gil when she grows up and her mom answered, Ah Gil because she's mature and pretty.

I really hope that Gillian can get into more movies this year or if they really have to go solo, EEG better not put Gillian off to the side, but most likely, that's what's gonna be happening.

Again, none of these messages are going against Charlene in general. It's only against the biased activities that EEG do.

well thx 4 sharing bcuz its alwais good 2 noe that gillian fans r still here with her. I totaly disagree with eeg being so bias they need 2 allow her 2 b in the movie cause she has great potential. ah gil just keeps on improving and if they let her go in more movies she gonna b HK top artist.

Gillian from the beginning has always been the center of attention no matter how hard EEG tries to only promote Charlene. Gillian still manages to maintain higher popularity but it seems like EEG has been aware of that and is NOW restricting her even more and more until she just dies out BUT as long as I'm still here and you guys too....WE WILL SUPPORT GILLIAN FOREVER!! Well, Gillian's popularity has been constant but I don't know about the future. If EEG still doesn't permit Gillian to participate in projects..her popularity will decrease and once a star's popularity decreases, slim chances they can regain it. Good new gillian fan i was in the chillin lounge in the poll section and one of the voting was gillian vs stephy and ofcorse our favourite Gillian alwais winning and beating stephy by miles and another vote about Gillian or Ada is prettier ofcourse Gillian is winning but onli by 2 votes. the final thing is the twin if they want them 2 split ofcourse most people voted 4 them 2 not split but more people said that if they do split gillian all the way 110% rather then charlene.
