That last one was Glass Slippers. Sad, but the story was pretty good and the ending was better than most.

i believe il mare didn't have a tragic ending...
because in the end jeon jihun's character had changed the past becuz of her early warning..haha...
that's why in the intro the guy asks her...
"do you wanna hear a wonderful story?"
just wanna correct...PEACE

I personally like the sad endings better...hehe I admit that's the whole reason why I watch k-dramas

I don't even understand korean at all

I go for the english subtitles or I try to guess what they're talking about...hehe

' So, I think the that happy ending doesn't get talked about as much as the sad endings that leave you talking to your friends and family about how great the series was

in my opinion i like happy endings...
always i watch a korean serie i hate the ending...
the ending is always very very emotional and unhappy...
that's the reason why i don't really like to watch korean series...
but i really have to say: korean series are very emotional... that's better than what tvb presents....

its very true indeed...all the korean dramas i've watched so far eiteher a main character dies...or someone whose important to the drama dies..... I suppose if every drama finishes with a happy ending its all too expected then.
if those korean drama end sadly...it depends on how differently ends to leave a lasting memory of it.

i like sad ending because it's more emotional and it feels real...also if it's a happy ending, i'm usually left with the thought "what's next?" but there are many happy ending drama that are good

There are Korean films with happy endings. One that comes to mind is My Sassy Girl. But I prefer sad endings to happy ones. Too many happy endings would be too "Hollywood".

Sad endings are the most memorable and touchy series that you'll never forget. Like stairway to heaven.

Tragic endings leave a longer impression on people.
It's like relationships, we all remember the pain and not the happy times.

Also ending like Sangdoo. Augh, It makes me feel so sad, because they might've died or something =( But I think Endless Love was so sad, I mean, seriously, the girl got cancer and died. Her, well, fake brother didn't even go see her because he couldn't handle it

her fake brother was there when she died because he was giving her a piggy back when shepassed away. unless you meant the part where she's between life and dead and he wasn't there, which he later showed up for anyhow and woke her up to life (she still died later on) but yeah, i agree. it was a sad series.
Another one is STH. that one is so tear-jerking. Choi Ji Woo luckily died in Kwon Sang Woo's arms so I'm not complaining much but it was a tragic series as well.

I don't know why most have tragic endings - maybe the audience will be more emotional over a tragic ending than on a happy ending. A lot of the korean storyline are sad though, so it probably makes more sense with a sad ending. Ever notice its mainly 4 main characters Main Guy and Main Girl..and Other girl2 and Other Guy2: the Main girl and guy will like each other. But the other Girl2 likes the main guy and the other guy2 likes the main girl. the movie always revolves around these 4 characters.

i think bc the tragedy grips the audience more, like it takes them into the storyline more- more emotionally involved. thats just my take.
