Michael Tse, Sheren Tang & Kiki Sheung at 'Family Link' Promotion
TVB's new series "The Family Link" held a promotion yesterday in Tseung Kwan O, attended by Sheren Tang, Kiki Sheung, Michael Tse and Kenneth Ma. The stars wore army themed outfits as they went shopping in the marketplace with just $30 and caused a little chaos as the stallholders complained about them getting in the way of business during the peak trading hours. Although the fruitstall owner complained about them affecting his business, he was still eager to get their autographs as he said: "I will lose at least $2000 in business at this rate, I'd better get myself an autograph though." In the end, Kiki's team won the competition and as Sheren and Michael's team lost, they had to undergo a forfeit, with Michael and Kenneth being forced to put on some boxer shorts in public, which was very funny.

Michael and Sheren play a married couple in the series and they have a son and daughter aged 6 and 7 respectively. Sheren indicated that the children were very close to him, Michael smiled: "When we were off set, Sheren would push everything onto me, so I had to look after the children and I had to combine the soft and the hard approach with them." As for the rumours that his wife is pregnant, Michael smiles avoidingly: "I didn't know that! (How would you not know?) I didn't ask! She did not say either. (Are you afraid of it being too early to say?) Are you talking about Hacken? He is [having a baby]. (Are you mentally prepared to be a father?) I am mentally prepared to shave my head for a new series. (How will you look after your wife when you are filming?) When I am filming, my wife will look after me." When the reporters found they weren't getting anywhere with him, they changed tack and asked him if his wife fell pregnant, would he announce it? He says continuing his jokes: "If Sheren has one, then I will definitely tell everyone."

As for Kiki, she does usually go to the markets to buy ingredients for her soup and as for the complaints about them getting in the way, she syas: "So when we left, I did apologise to them for inconveniencing them. We filmed in this market before, somtimes until about 5pm and there were a lot of housewives who complained, but some were very good and stopped to chat with us. One chicken stall holder even asked me to introduce his son into acting."

After filming this series, Sheren feels that it is a hard life being a housewife, but this has not put her off getting married and has made her realise what marriage is actually about, giving all your time and money to yuor children. When you don't need to worry about romance any more, then life becomes more stable and you no longer have as many fantasies. She smiles: "Love in marriage changes into a different kind of love and that is one of acceptance. (It will be okay if you don't have children?) My chances are slim, I don't even have a husband yet." Sheren hopes that this series can give comfort and encouragement to the hardworking housewives.

As for going shopping in the markets, Sheren says that when she lived in Clearwater Bay, she would often go out and buy groceries, but now she is in a new home and her mother cooks for her, then she rarely goes to the market any more. However, she had started shopping in the market from a young age and it gives her a very homely feeling because no matter how you look, the stallholders will always call you 'pretty sister', then naturally say something flattering about you, so it is a good place to check on your popularity levels. Has she been scolded at by the housewives? She smiles: "No, even when I was playing Yu Fei, they would not scold me. Maybe they would say: 'You are so evil!', but they did not mean it maliciously because the viewers understand it is just acting."

Kiki Sheung is Confident with 'The Family Link'

As it was Mothers Day yesterday, then they used this as a theme and all the men appeared in big clown wigs and dressed as women to dance and they then carried Kiki Sheung as they handed out flowers to the audience. Afterwards when Al took Michael's wig off, he revealed his shaved head and caused much laughter from everyone.

Michael had to dress as a woman yesterday and he says that he also had to dress as a woman whilst filming for the show. Does he mind? He says he doesn't mind because this is just for the storyline and also for the promotion. He says that his wife has complimented him for looking 'hot' as a woman.

"The Family Link" will begin airing this evening, so does Kiki have high expectations? He says that a lot of people have referred to her lately as 'housewife' and declared their support for her show when it is aired. She smiles: "Let me exaggerate a little, but with the talent in this show, I am confident in our ratings."

Recently "Heart of Greed" has been the hot topic in the town, so does this mean that she will be fighting against 'dai kai' and 'sai kai' in the show? Kiki says that there is no need to fight because each show will have its own fans and of course she hopes they will watch "Family" and then continue to watch "Heart" afterwards to give their own ratings on each one.

Kiki Sheung and Al Wai are a Memorable Couple
Kiki Sheung and Al Wai were guests on a radio show yesterday and their husband and wife characters have gone down well in recent series "The Family Link" and the latest storyline tells of how Al goes missing. He smiles: "I have gone to the mainland with my cousin to mess about!" Although the ratings for "Family" have not been bad, TVB have been pushing hard for "Heart of Greed" to get good ratings, making sure the cast members are in the papers every day. However, Kiki does not feel that this has stolen their thunder and believes that they are all doing well. Moreover there is still another ten episodes for "Family", so she is confident that ratings will keep going up and will break the records set by "Heart" because the forthcoming storyline will be very moving, such as her using poison to win her husband back.

Talking of one of the show's stars Michael Tse receiving complaints by using his middle finger to push up his glasses, Kiki supports him, saying: "Usually it is like that when you push up your glasses and I also use my middle finger to push up my glasses." As for the reports suggesting that she recites poetry for her boyfriend, she clarifies that is it him who sends her SMS love messages. Asked when she will become a housewife for real, she says: "Later! Maybe I will wait until I am 60 before I get married because that is trendy! In this industry no-one has got married at 60. Kiki Sheung Enjoys Life and is Happy to be a Strong Housewife

Unlimited Support from her Parents

For Kiki, the importance of her family is by no means below that of her career and her romance. Her motivation to work hard comes not just from her enthusiasm and satisfaction, but also stems from the desire to make more money and give her parents an even better life. When it comes to strong housewives, her first nomination is for her mother: "When I was studying at the artiste training class, it took a year and in those days you did not have a salary whilst you were training. For me to reach where I am now was thanks to the encouragement from my parents. They never complained once and supported me 100%. Kiki is a Christian and was baptised in 1985 after following her good friend Teresa Mo to a church meeting. She says that believing in Christ is not about wanting to go to heaven and like her acting, her reasons are entirely valid: "I believed in God because I was touched by the gospels in the bible. In the same way that I act not for the awards and just to enjoy the process, then I will never worry about what position I am in. I am not worried about rewards, I just innocently want to do my work well and in this way, the rewards are even more unexpected."

Kiki and her Investment Company Executive boyfriend have been together for two years and in the eyes of their friends, they are like a modern day 'Xiao Long Nui and Yang Guo' because behind their two years together lies over a decade of waiting from the man: "Over ten years ago, I still had a head of long hair and I met my current boyfriend in my friend's Causeway Bay boutique. At the time, my friend introduced us and we just greeted each other and nothing happened. However, for him it was love at first sight and when we met again over ten years later, he finally plucked up the courage to court me, so my friends laugh and call him 'Yang Guo' because he has waited for 'Xiao Long Nui' for so long before they can be together. Kiki Sheung Says she is a Good Cook
Kiki Sheung was the latest guest on TVB Pay Vision's "Starry Kitchen", where she made a western dish. She says that she has always been a good cook and has learned her skills from a young age from her mother. "Family Link" Stars Celebrate Success and Hope for Sequel
TVB series "The Family Link" reached an average of 38 points in its finale and peaked at 44 points, reaching the top average ratings for 2007 and to celebrate this, TVB spent a five figure sum on a banquet at the Royal Plaza hotel for the cast and crew to celebrate, totalling 11 tables. As well as the three 'housewives' Kiki Sheung, Sheren Tang and Cecilia Yip, their long suffering 'husbands' Al Wai, Michael Tse and Derek Kok joined producer Lam Chi Wah at the event and TVB Executives including Stephen Chan, Virginia Lok and Tommy Leung were also there to share the celebrations.

Asked whether they will be filming a sequel for this series, Kiki says that they could change it into a sitcom that focuses around the day-to-day events around the three ladies. Sheren smiles that she hopes to send her children away to boarding school for the sequel, then she can turn pretty again and follow her dreams and ambitions. As for Michael, he is also in favour of a sequel, because there are a lot of suitable topics in the press every day.

Talking of whether the hardest thing for a man to bear is finding his wife has been unfaithful, Michael says: "I think the most painful would be to see it with your own eyes rather than to hear about it. Kevin Cheng, Roger Kwok, & Yoyo Mung in "Walking with the Enemy"
The praying ceremony for "Walking with the Enemy" 《與敵同行》was held yesterday, with cast members, Kevin Cheng Ka Wing, Roger Kwok, Yoyo Mung Ka Wai etc. present.

Kevin apologized to Kiki Sheung Tin Gnor, who plays his mother in the series. In a scene filmed yesterday, Kevin's character grabbed a camera from Kiki's hand and pushed her to the floor. Kevin accidentally caused Kiki to truly fall on the ground, igniting her old spinal injury.

Kevin and Roger Kwok Chun On have many action scenes in the series. In one scene, Kevin will fall into the water and be injured by a rock. Kevin is concerned that the stunt may have uncontrollable risk factors.

After receiving acupuncture, Kiki's spinal injury was recovering nicely. She did not blame Kevin, as he did not push her too hard. Rather, she was not careful when she fell to the ground, thus injuring her spine.

Roger filmed a scene in the rain yesterday. Fortunately he did not fall sick. Earlier, He filmed a kissing scene with Yoyo. Were their respective significant others jealous? Roger laughed, "Nope I didn't have any problems!"

Did Yoyo borrow tips from Roger on how to plan a secret wedding without the paparazzi's knowledge? Roger laughed, "Nope. Yesterday, Kiki Sheung was filming a new series. She saw Ellesmere Choy’s 40 inch chest and joked that he was a “Chest God”. It turns out that Ellesmere knows a lot about the stock market. Kiki said that she views Ellesmere as “Stock God” and discuss investments with him.

Yesterday, TVB’s new series “Family Link 2” did some outdoor location filming at an apartment complex. An army of housewives including Kiki, Angela, Rain Lau, Lily Poon, and etc. was at the filming location. The scene described the apartment residents involved in the charity drive of 「歡樂滿中華」. Joyce Tang was not in the shot but decided to donate 5 cents because Kiki was working very hard for the charity drive! The storyline described that Ellesmere was an unknown resident who took investment courses. He became the housewives’ “God Stock”. Before the artistes took their places for the scene, everyone was asking Ellesmere about investments.

There was a small stock market crash earlier. Kiki listened to Ellesmere’s views and didn’t buy into the market. She avoided losing her money. Kiki said: “I really need to treat Ellesmere to tea! I usually buy Blue chips stock which is long term and not short term investment. I am not affected in the long term with the rising and falling stock market. This series is trying to tell people to not rely on stocks as their sole income. It is important to have your feet on the ground”

Ellesmere is not only Kiki and other housewives’ “Stock God” but a “Chest God” due to his 40 inch chest from working out. The director requested that he lose some of his chest. But Ellesmere said: “I tried to lose it but I wasn’t successful. I could only lose inches off my waist but not my upper chest.”

New series - Wives & Concubines, Wayne's first lead role

Last year the seniors Ha Yu, and Lei Sze Kei’s series HOG II was very popular amongst the audience. This year they have filmed a sequel hoping it can be as successful as the first one. After finishing preparing HOG II, in July there are plans to start filming a new series Wives & Concubines (妻 妾 成 群 temporary title translation). There will be a total of 25 episodes. The current cast is Sheren Tang, Kara Hui, Kiki Sheung, Tse Suet Sum & Elliott Ngok Wah. Wayne Lai will be the male lead for the first time.

Wives & Concubines will be directed by Mr Li (李 添 勝) and will be scripted by Mr Cheung(張華標) who wrote Heart of Greed. This series will be like the mainland production "大宅門". Elliot Ngok Wah will die early in the series so all his business’ will be run by his 4th wife Sharon Tang, and first wife Tse Suet Sum, Second wife Kiki Sheung and third wife Kara Hui will fight for the business.
Also, Ron Ng will play Kara Hui’s son and Suki Tsui will play a younger sister. Both will have a relationship with one another in a society which denies a relationship between a sister and brother.

Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang will film a TVB version of the mainland production "大宅門". This series was split in to two series, with a total of 72 episodes. This took the script writer Mr Kwok 40 years to develop with other directors with over 100 people in the cast.

大宅門 talks about how a family owns a pharmacy, and has been passed on from 3 generations. The first series is set in the Qing dynasty in the time of the Japanese war much. The second series talked about how the family fought against the Japanese and changed the whole family. (sorry if the translation isn’t very accurate).

In the new series Suki Tsui will have a relationship denied by society with Ron Ng.
