Yoyo Mung was sighted at an Admiralty clinic yesterday to undergo a procedure with a well known cosmetic surgeon. The operation cost $5000 and when she left, she had two plasters on her cheeks. She denies having plastic surgery, saying it was just mole removal.

Around noon yesterday, Yoyo took a taxi on her own to the Bank of America building in Admiralty, wearing sunglasses and a bandana. After leaving the taxi, she hurried up to a clinic on the tenth floor, where the surgeon is well known for carrying out plastic surgery on many female stars, especially for creating double eyelids. It would appear that Yoyo had an operation on her cheeks and left about an hour later with two plasters on her cheeks. When the reporters asked her for an interview, she seemed very tired and declined before leaving by taxi again.

When Yoyo was later contacted, she said: "I only went to for mole removal. (Are you afraid people will say you have gone for plastic surgery?) If they have to think that, then I can't care too much. I have wanted to have it done all along, not changing the way I look or adding anything to it, just removing the blemishes. In fact, after the procedure, there are two scars on my face now, but I hope no-one will notice. Actually I did think about pulling out, because when I got there, they told me I needed to have an injection for the local anaesthetic."

Yoyo originally had a mole beneath her eye and a larger one on her cheekbone, she said: "I haven't been to see the fortune teller, so I don't know if my luck will be affected by their removal, but I have heard that 'no face has a good mole'. Also, I have noticed in the mirror that the one on my cheekbone has been getting bigger and is starting to grow hair, so I felt it was better to have it removed whilst it is still soft. When I entered showbiz, it was suggested to me to have it removed, but because I have to not wear make up for a week afterwards, I thought I would have it done now as I don't have to start filming again for another two weeks."

[Oriental Daily]

Yoyo Mung had a new breakthrough yesterday as she appeared as a model for her new signing as spokesperson for a lingerie company, causing quite a stir among the members of the audience.

Yoyo signed a seven-figure deal with the company and with some conflict, she took part in a fashion show in Lan Kwai Fong yesterday as she said: "When I went on stage I was very scared because I wasn't sure if the bra was secured properly. Having someone put the bra on for you is a very strange feeling and you don't know if it is secure or not. Later the atmosphere was quite good, so even though I wasn't going to take the shirt off, I did anyway."

Yoyo's bottom half was a little more reserved, not appearing in her knickers. She said: "That is a very sensitive region and I am not a model, so I am afraid my figure will affect the appearance. This is already my limit." When asked whether she had made protective measures, Yoyo revealed: "I have used some protective pads, originally I had forgotten but when I looking in the mirror and saw my nipple sticking out, I asked for a pad to use." Yoyo says she has had to get fit for this show and appear at her best.

I think she looks really nice. If anyone has the picture of when she wore that black dress in AR4, then can you please post it becasue she looks very beautiful at that part.

Cast members from TVB's "Armed Reaction IV" including Bobby Au-Yeung, Yoyo Mung, Ha Yu, Akina Hong, Raymond Cho and Mok Ka Yiu took part in an outdoor challenge at Sai Kung Pak Tam Chung. Yoyo's team won in the end and Bobby and Raymond both sustained injuries, with Bobby injuring his eye and then his arm, but luckily it was not serious.

Bobby and Yoyo took on the role of team leader and led their teams through many different rope net activities. Raymond wounded his right hand slightly whilst crawling though the nets. Bobby was originally responsible for tackling just the balance beam, but as Akina completed the final obstacle, he ran ahead to egg her on and was accidentally hit by the prop gun in her hand in the eye. As the tears streamed, he washed his eye out before using some eye drops and he was fine afterwards. When asked how he was, he says: "I am fine now. It was Akina's arms flying around as she ran that caused it." When he was mocked about needing someone to hold his back on the balance beams, he argued that the beam was only suited to skilly people.

Talking of the average ratings of just 28 points for AR4 not living up to past performance, Bobby says that the ratings nowadays are up and down. With criticisms that the story is lacking in new development, he say to watch out for the excitement when his character splits from Ada Choi and starts dating Yoyo.

Akina was very apologetic after injuring Bobby and said sorry to him. She will soon be taking part in "Friday Variety Show" and has been practicing her dancing for it.

With a seemingly weak exterior, Yoyo was very courageous at the obstacle course competition yesterday and even the men were no match for her. Afterwards, Yoyo indicated that she has loved doing these outdoor activities since she was very young and once broke her leg and lost two teeth whilst playing on backwards slides. Yoyo says: "If it wasn't for Frankie Lam's wedding banquet, I would try some of the more difficult obstacles and not just do the balance beams." Yoyo continues to tell of her accident that led to her losing her two front teeth, but luckily it was before her permanent teeth had developed. However, her new teeth took a while to grow out and she was called "Toothless Girl" for a while, making her not want to smile very much.

Yoyo not only took part in the team games, she also challenged Bobby to a walk on the rope bridge, which she won again. However she was very against wearing some of the more oddly shaped protective gear and explained: "Mok Ka Yiu wore it before and it was very funny, so I wanted to avoid it."

Yoyo Mung appeared at an event for Yamaha motorcycles in Macau and says she is very attracted to the latest model of bike and although the cc of the new bike is less, she is prepared to swap this bike worth over $10,000 for her own that is worth $20,000.

After the show, Yoyo visited the casino with her friends and she says she doesn't like it there very much but she had to go with her friends for a bit of fun. She says she is a dunce in the casino because she does not know how to gamble and she asked so many questions at the tables that she annoyed her friend. Yoyo adds she is not suited to going to the casino because she is very happy even if she wins $100 and has little ambition. However she still lost $4000 there and she is feeling the pinch because she would rather have spent the money on taking her friends for a meal instead.

I think Yoyo's a good actress! =)

Yoyo Mung and Shirley Yeung took part in an opening ceremony for a jewellery store and as well as a five figure fee, they also received jewellery worth $28,000. Yoyo appeared in a black shoulderless dress and was very seductive and she says that she was worried she would be overly exposed, but everyone praised how beautiful she looked and she felt better.

Yoyo has always had a slim figure and when asked if she had added pads to give her a fuller figure, she laughs: "I will not do that just because of what Alex Fong says. Yesterday my mum scolded Alex for 'talking about her daughter' leaving him with some explaining to do, but I will not take any notice of him."

Shirley indicated that she would like to buy a red crystal necklace to increase her social luck and when asked if she felt she has no friends, she denied this quickly saying: "Not at all. (Will you buy one for your boyfriend Gregory?) Men don't suit wearing jewellery. (How about Auntie?) Everyone has their own preferences, she will buy it herself.

Alex Fong and Yoyo Mung were filming for "Fight for Every Moment" in Portland Street yesterday and although they were laughing and joking at every opportunity, Alex insists he will not develop any feelings for her and adds: "She is like a man, if I fall for her, then I will have to re-evaluate my sexual orientation! However, her mother asked me earlier why I commented on her figure and I was very embarrassed, but I will keep laughing at her."

During the filming, a fan approached them and asked to have a photo taken with Alex, but the close proximity left Alex feeling a little awkward. When Yoyo was asked whether she had experienced this, she says: "I don't mind taking photos with fans, but sometimes they can get too close. I heard Cheng Dan Shui mention that Alex is handsome with a streak of wildness about him. That made me laugh because he is more like a wild dog!"

Alex Fong and Yoyo Mung were filming in Tai Kok Tsui for new series "Fight for Every Moment" where they play lovers and the scene was of criminals crashing through barriers and kidnapping Yoyo, leaving her with an injured knee. Alex chased after them along the street, but not only was he unable to rescue the beauty, he fell flat on his face and was left rather embarrassed. Eventually he filmed this five times and showed his professionalism.

Talking of his pride being shaken earlier by his 'Thai Chow Yun Fat' co-star, Alex laughed that he is not afraid of being compared: "Work is all the same! She (Yoyo) is even more worried about the Thai actress and her great figure!" To this, Yoyo who was stood nearby retorted: "I am not afraid, the only thing I am afraid of is your mouth!"

Yoyo Mung earlier spent a few hundred thousand dollars on a second hand Mercedes, but whilst filming in Mongkok earlier, she was met with the car scratching gangs leaving their mark on her car.

However, the funniest thing was that she only thought that one side had been scratched until a friend pointed out that there was an identical scratch to the paint on the other side of the car. However, Yoyo was not upset about it at all as she says: "Never mind, the people just can't control themselves and that's why they do these things. It actually isn't very deep, when people do these things, they just want people to get angry and hurt, but I am not falling for this trick!"

Yoyo's character has always been rather clumsy, so when she is driving, she is always bumping into things, so even if she hadn't met with the scratching of her car, she would probably have scratched it herself anyway. Originally she was planning to take the car to be resprayed, but she has been busy reading her scripts and filming for her movie so she needs to use the car every day and has no time to drop it off. Looks like she will have to face the 'scars' for a little while longer before her car can have a new coat of paint.

Yoyo Mung, Alex Fong, Miki Yeung Marco Ngai,Patrick Tam and the two Thai guest stars were among the cast members appearing at the blessing ceremony for "Fight for Every Moment"

Earlier, there were reports that Miki had been complaining to the director, leading to Yoyo and Alex to boycott her in protest and at yesterday's event, she seemed to have little to say to the leading stars. When asked about this, Miki explains: "There is a scene where I am hit by a car, but I didn't know to bring shoulder and knee pads and had to ask for help. The photo says I didn't talk to them, but it must just have been at that moment, because they are both very nice people." She adds that maybe she is still very timid and this may be affecting her apparent interaction with the other cast members.

Alex and Yoyo also deny picking on the newcomer and Alex says: "Miki is new, so we expect her to NG a lot. However she does her preparation and is a hard working artiste. That day I showed her how to die in that she has to do some spasms of her legs first." Yoyo also came to Miki's defence, saying: "There was no such thing, don't say we are bullying her. The scene was about the death of her character and we were afraid that it would affect her performance, so we just stood to one side to keep out of her way."

***Warning: Some unconfirmed spoilers for "Healing Hands III"***

After an absence of three and a half years, TVB's "Healing Hands" will be filming the third instalment in June and with the astounding results of the last two series, TVB is placing a high profile on the storyline of the new series to keep the audience captivated. There will be a major shake-up among the leading characters, hoping to stir up more talking points and raise the ratings points.

The highly popular original leading cast will still be present, such as Lawrence Ng, Bowie Lam, Moses Chan, Flora Chan and Michael Tong, but Yoyo Mung has been written out, being replaced with fellow beauties Gigi Lai and Bernice Liu who will have love affairs with leading males Lawrence and Bowie and the story will begin just after the horror of SARS has passed.

The focus of many viewers has been the love affairs of Lawrence's character Ching Chi Mei with the last series telling of how his girlfriend Jackie (played by Ada Choi) woke from a coma only to give her life away rescuing a child from a fire. Then he was moved by rich doctor Tracy (Yoyo Mung), whom he fell in love with but had to carry out some surgery on her brain.

In the third series, the story will tell of how Yoyo's character has another boyfriend and commits suicide as a result, leaving Lawrence being branded as a love rat. Her end is not as heroic as that of Jackie. As a result, Yoyo does not need to appear in this show at all as they will suggest her story through other ways. Gigi Lai will play a pathologist who clears Lawrence's name through her investigations and gains his gratitude and eventually his love.

Another story will follow on from how Bowie's character Henry made up with Flora's lawyer character Kong Sun Yuet at the end of the last series, but in this instalment, the SARS epidemic makes the couple finally realise that they are not right for each other. Henry falls in love with trainee doctor Bernice Liu, whilst Yuet will fall for SARS affected doctor MC played by Moses Chan.

With so many twists and turns in the story and dramatic feelings galore, it is still doubtful as to whether this will go down well with the viewers. Together with the recent negative press against the leading player Lawrence, there is going to be a battle to win back the acceptance of the viewing audience.

Yay they're finally going to make healing hands 3. I think she's pretty and the first show i saw her in was AR4. But I think she didn't act that well there though. Pretty cool and aloof without much heart into the character.

Alex Fong, Yoyo Mung, Patrick Tam and Johnson Lee set out yesterday for Thailand to film for "Fight for Every Moment". As well as taking her luggage, Yoyo also took a folding chair and she explains that filming on location means that they have to run around everywhere, so she has brought the chair so that she can rest whenever she can.

Earlier, Alex Fong had suggested that if Yoyo had not found a new boyfriend before heading out to Thailand, he would pay for her food and accommodation. To this Yoyo laughs: "You just have to look at him and you know he will go back on his word." Later Patrick arrived at the airport and immediately revealed that a man had driven Yoyo to the airport, as he and Alex both did the hand gestures to suggest she has a personal chauffeur. Alex then said jokingly: "That's good, she has a man, she has found someone! I don't need to pay. Seeing her so dedicated (suggesting her sexy clothes), then I know she will do it, I only came here by taxi today!" As for Yoyo's explanation, she says that this man was not her boyfriend, but just a male friend.

This trip will last for a whole month, so Patrick's newly wed wife will most likely go to visit him. When he was asked whether the man who dropped off Yoyo was good looking, he says: "He was wearing a cap, so I couldn't see very well. Their manner was very casual, so the man seemed more like a chauffeur." After finishing filming for "Fight", Patrick will be heading to Hengdian to film for a China Central Television ancient production where he has to fight holding a baby.

TVB's joint production with Thailand's Channel 3 "Fight for Every Moment" is currently filming away on location in Thailand. In order to show the importance of this production, TVB bosses Ho Ding Kwan and Yip Yung Yu headed out to Thailand personally for a press conference and Mr Ho joined Channel 3 director Mr Pravit in addressing the guests.

Also, on the day when the Hong Kong cast members, including Alex Fong, Yoyo Mung, Patrick Tam, Marco Ngai and Johnson Lee arrived in Thailand, they were met at the airport by their Thai counterparts Sririta Jensen and Chatchai Plangpanit before they joined together to pay respects to the four faced buddha and wish for a smooth shoot.

When the producer in Thailand Lo Wing Yin was contacted yesterday, he indicated that they are yet to film any major scenes as they are starting on the more vocal scenes. Alex has already filmed two scenes, one telling of him being pursued by the Thai police and not only did he have to run around all night, he injured his wrists when he was filming a handcuffing scene with an actor police officer and was unable to put his watch on the next day. However, Alex knows it was not done on purpose and has no complaints.

As the filming this time is with the total co-operation of the Thai authorities, everything is going very smoothly and filming in Chinatown early, they were able to seal off the whole street to film. Although the local weather is very hot and rainy and the cast have to keep stopping, they are all well prepared. As for Thai actor Chatchai, he offered the local hospitality and has taken the cast and crew to the banks of the river to eat. As he is very well known in Thailand, he has attracted many onlookers and so he took the chance to introduce the Hong Kong stars to the locals.

Yoyo Mung sported a beautiful skin tone revealing her shoulders at the opening of a beauty concept store yesterday. Whilst filming on location in Thailand for "Split Second" (Fight for Every Moment), she soaked in plenty of sunshine, leaving her with well bronzed skin.

On her trip to Thailand, Yoyo finally learned to swim. She had tried to learn several times before, but she gave up half way each time. This time, thanks to the encouragement of Marco Ngai, who also acted as her coach, she has finally had some success. When asked if there was any bodily contact with Marco during the coaching, Yoyo says there was none at all because he was just coaching her with his words and did not enter the water, so she didn't lose out to him! When asked if she would buy him a present to thank him, she says she will but hasn't thought of what to get him yet.

Summarising this trip to Bangkok, she says it was a totally fun time, even though it was very hard work, especially as they stayed in a very comfortable place and all the cast members left their doors open to share the fun. Although there wasn't much privacy, it was very happy. Later they will be returning to make up a few scenes, but she is worried that her skin tone will not match the previously filmed scenes!

Also, Yoyo will be taking part in the movie starring Nancy Sit and William Hung and she admits she has never heard William sing before and doesn't feel he is very good looking at all.

Yoyo Mung has recently had a break between work and taken a vacation to Japan with some friends. Although this is not the first time she has been there, she still feels very happy: "I have a friend who lives over there, so I borrowed her bike to go shopping on. Going from one place to another on a bike instead of walking was very comfortable and I was not tired at all after a whole day's shopping."

The greatest success for Yoyo was being able to meet Anthony Wong for breakfast in Tokyo: "I knew that Anthony was filming in Japan recently, so I called him out for a meal, but he said that time is very precious, so we could only arrange to have breakfast together. I wanted to eat sushi, so we went for a meal of sushi. Although I was quite tired, I was very happy because the sushi was very tasty and you can't get it this good in Hong Kong."

Anyone here ever watched this HK series "Mission in Trouble" starring Yo Yo Mung, released in 2003? I love her characters here as Koh Peng Peng, she is so icy cool, stubborn, strong-will, tomboy and can fight really well. The chemistry she has with Michael Tao's character Sam was very good and their characters make their relationship very unique.

Mission in Trouble starring Michael Tao, Yo Yo Mung, Rachel Ngan, Maggie Q, Terrence Yin, Mark Cheng, Sheung Tin Ngor and lots of actors & actresses that I've forgotten the name has just completed in NTV 7 (Malaysia) ala Charlie's Angels style.

This is a 2003 big production with lots of talents, various locations and facilities. It's not TVB /ATV production but you can rent it from ATV store and distributed by Tai Seng Entertainment. The locations is great with the first few episodes in Hong Kong, then move to good-old Kuala Lumpur - have a jolly good times guessing all those familiar locations   before moving to Thailand and back to China at episode 15. The last few episodes is very interesting with a sizzling romance from the two leads in a dangerous assignment in Thailand.

It's has been quite a while, make that a couple of years since I last saw Michael Tao in "Showbiz Tycoon" or was that "Flaming Brothers"? and he still has those 'housewives killer" charm. I like his character too in this MIT drama even though was quite annoyed by his attitude initially but his charming side did get to me eventually. Love the budding romance between his character Sam and Yo Yo - Peng, at first they hated each others when Peng's dad (played by Danny Lee) falsed his death by falling on top of his brand new beloved Ferrari or was that a Porsche?! Smashed, very pissed off and so begin the love-hate relationship!

Later, Sam and team - Kit a computer genius, Fei Bou a gun expert and Tik Yan a kung fu expert were assigned to protect Peng and her mum from those criminals that her father was force to work with. Sam always get into Peng's black book and she bashed him up a couple of times too...ouch! After her mum was murdered by the same criminals, Peng seek revenge and begged to join this elite team. With Peng's icy cool & stubborn attitudes eventually clash with Sam's charming (read playboy) yet sarcastic attitude towards the "Firework of Love"! laugh.gif

I've enjoyed the whole gang's rapport with each others. It's very interesting to watch and their conversation is very lively, filled with sarcastic remarks and jokes, they teased each others a lot & that make it fun to watch. Overall, the gang has good chemistry with each others and another budding romance between Kit and Moon - another computer genius though naive bubbly girl played by Rachel. The plot and action is fast pace and exciting, very entertaining, the romance is complicated like the usual HK series with 3rd & 4th parties but it end happily, the kind of ending that is endearing in HK series.

Can anyone provide any articles or news about this Mission in Trouble seems like so hard to find any news or promotion for this HK series even though it's a big production! down.gif

[Ta Kung Pao & The Sun 09/09/04]

Yoyo Mung took part in a fashion show as a model yesterday, but as she has not been on a catwalk for over half a year, she felt a little uncomfortable. Yoyo says: "I don't wear heels very much, so I am a little frightened when I walk in them." In order to make the most of her opportunity for exposure, she has taken on a lot of fashion jobs for the future, but she will definitely not model fur because she feels it looks better on animals and she would not be happy wearing it, especially as she is allergic to it. With some British extremists saying that they would poke the eyes out of the supermodels such as Gisele, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss if they wore fur, Yoyo was rather shocked to hear this and said: "Surely not! You don't need to get so worked up, if the animal died of natural causes, then their fur could be used."

As well as receiving a fee for her performance, Yoyo also received a sponsorship of a winter wardrobe and she says that for this type of show, the attraction is in the clothes sponsorship and not the fee. She laughs that she would prefer the money, but in the current climate, she has to accept the goods and it is not such a bad thing. As this label has very patterned clothes in its range, it is rather contrasting with her preference for plainer clothes, but many people reckon that with her slim figure, she should change her image. She is now hoping for a car sponsor like Simon Yam and Alex Fong (Lik San) who are able to buy new cars all the time and make her jealous. She has wanted to buy a new car for a while, but feels it is too much hassle to sell her old car, buy a new car and pay the difference.

Yoyo Mung was interviewed for a radio station earlier and asked about her new series with Alex Fong and Patrick Tam "Split Second" that will be airing after "War and Beauty", she feels a little pressure, afraid that they will not be able to follow the good results of "War", but she hopes the show will be quite fresh for the viewers. She says: "It's not really a matter of pressure, but even if the first week does well, it will be brushed off as following from the previous week's record. I just hope that people will accept this genre of show."

Yoyo reveals that "Split Second" was filmed using movie techniques and the feeling of it being like a movie is very strong. The artistes were all very absorbed in their roles and even discussed the plot after work, so they all got on very well. When asked whether they would be promoting the show in Thailand when it airs over there, she says: "I would very much like to, so if the company is okay with it, then I would even pay for the plane tickets."

Talking of the recent allegations of sexual assault by Mango Wong against Eric Wan, Yoyo Mung indicates that when filming kiss scenes with male actors, they are often more nervous than the females because they are afraid of being accused of overstepping the mark. Once when she was filming a kiss scene with Gallen Lo, he had an action that would brush against her chest and Yoyo herself did not mind, but Gallen was very embarrassed and asked the director if they could just use the camera angle instead. When they finally filmed it, Gallen asked Yoyo to add a pad to avoid touching her more sensitive regions.

Niki Chow has a rather tomboyish character, so she has never met with any untoward behaviour whilst filming and she laughs that maybe this is because she is quite fiery and people dare not come near her. She says: "Maybe because of this, they have started to arrange for me to be an action lady. However, I do know how to protect myself." As for the Mango incident occuring in a Eric's car, Niki says that when you get to know someone, then taking lifts is not unusual and she has had a ride in Alex Fong (Lik San)'s car before.

Yoyo Mung took part in a promotion for a skincare product and although she has not received an unlimited sponsorship, she does not mind because she has plenty of different products at home and it is already like a warehouse. She also laughs that usually people only use whitening products on their face, but she uses it all over her body so that she has perfectly pale skin.

Yoyo signed two years ago for M8 as her management company and during this time, many of their contracted artistes have left the company to find other paths, suggesting there is a problem with the company. However, she supports them, saying that every company has their own poliicies and she feels that she is working well with them. Some criticisms are that M8 are not the best management company in the business, but she says that the most important thing is for a good communication to exist between the artiste and the manager. When asked if she feels she is the most important artiste, she indicates that at first there were some unhappy times because the company was filming for "Kung Fu Soccer" and although she had a part, this was never announced and she was mistaken as being a second choice for her part. After two years, her relationship with the company has improed and they have built a mutual trust. At the moment she receives her own jobs before handing them off to the company to deal with. Maybe some people feel that signing a manager means everything is dealt with by them, but she would prefer to play a part in everything. Her contract with M8 expires next year, but whether she will extend is all down to their sincerity.

Yoyo Mung and Alex Fong (Chung Sun) took part in the opening of an ice cream parlour in Macau yesterday and Yoyo revealed that she received this job thanks to Alex: "He does not treat me as badly as the rumours suggest!" Talking of the promotion for "Split Second" that was going on at the same time over in Hong Kong, Yoyo says: "We are promoting the show over in Macau!"

As for "Split Second" airing straight after "War and Beauty", Yoyo says: "I am so scared that any good ratings will be put down to the show beforehand... in the past, I rarely watch the series that I make, but this time I will try and make it home to tune in." As for Alex, for whom Macau is his home, he says that if he has time, he will go home to visit his parents as well as take Yoyo for a massage.

Yoyo Mung took part in a the "2004 Heart-to-Heart Charity Walk" yesterday and when she heard the stories of children with congenital heart conditions, finding out that some of them needing amputations because of their heart problems, she was very upset by this. She says that she is a very emotional person and whenever she visits some less fortunate sick children, she will be moved to tears, but is afraid of affecting the mood of the children, so she can only hold it back and not cry in front of the children.

Talking of heart conditions, it turns out that Yoyo's own elder sister suffered from a heart problem when she was younger and was often in and out of hospital, but luckily, she recovered when she was fifteen years old and the whole family were very relieved. Yoyo's heart is fine and her biggest problem is a lack of sleep that has left her with an ear imbalance problem.

Yoyo's new series "Split Second" will begin airing after "War and Beauty" and although "War" has had very high ratings, Yoyo is still confident in her sereis and feels that as they are very different stories, there will be a new set of viewers supporting the show.

the same news that cinseto posted, but with some pictures smile.gif

Yoyo Mung Ka Wai and Andy Hui Chi On attended a 2004 heart charity walk. "Earlier I went for a check up and the doctor wanted me to run the treadmill. In the end I ran twice as long as regular people. The doctor said I was amazing, but actually I had a tough time. I just couldn't lose."

Ka Wai said that her sister had a heart defect and could relate to families of children with heart conditions. "Because my sister was sick, she constantly had to go in and out of the hospital. I was used to accomonodating her. When she was 15 she was cured. I would like to visit children with heart conditions at the hospital. Of course I can't treat them, but I am willing to entertain them and play with them. I am just afraid that I can't hold back the tears."

News
After "War And Beauty", TVB's grand production "Split Second" is scheduled to start airing tognight. The cast members, including Alex Fong, Patrick Tam, Kevin Cheng, Yoyo Mung and Claire Yiu, took part in a promotional game yesterday. They were required to describe their characters in thirty seconds. Whoever failed would have two balloons burst right beside them. Turned out Alex was the big loser, and he could take someone to suffer with him. He picked Yoyo, although she begged him not to. To get back, Yoyo poked fun at Alex and revealed he went out for a massage during shooting. Alex then replied Yoyo went gambling.

Alex is confident "Split Second" will do well, and he jokes it's almost like "Richard Gere vs. Johnny Depp". It's well known that Alex is the "Eastern Richard Gere", but who's the "Eastern Johnny Depp"? Alex says it's Patrick and he's a good actor. He adds that Patrick is the kind of actor who only decides how to act a certain scene out at the last minute, but Alex likes it that way. Asked who is the better actor of the two, Alex says older audience might like him more, as he has kids in "Split", and he does everything to protect them. As for "Split" lacking rumors which helped "War" become more popular, Alex jokingly replies he acted like a producer during shooting, and decided to add or cut scenes on his own, so all the other cast members hated him.

Although Yoyo is often the victim of Alex's pranks, they are very much in sync one one issue. They both think the popularity of a show has nothing to do with rumors. Yoyo says "War" did have a lot of rumors when it started airing, but as the story progressed, people switched their attention to the plot and the acting, and this goes to show that the most important popularity factor is the quality of the production after all.

[Ta Kung Pao 08/10/04]

With her popularity rising after the airing of new series "Split Second", Yoyo Mung's movie "Ngoc Mung" (Nightmare) will be released on the 21st, also starring Jo Koo, Edmond Leung, Michael Tong and Helena Law. The film should prove to be a hit during the Double Nine festival holiday.

The storyline of the film surrounds a female journalist who has had the same nightmare for over ten years. The atmosphere of the film is terrifying with a twisting storyline and Yoyo plays this plagued journalist in the film. She says that she has always been afraid of watching horror films since she was young, especially the scenes that suddenly scare you, because they will linger in her mind for a while afterwards, making her very uncomfortable and even having nightmares that make her cry out loud. Because of this, she did think about turning down the part when she received the script to the film.

Yoyo says: "I have never acted in a horror film before because I am very scared of becoming too absorbed in the role and being unable to step out of the character. However, after I read the script, I felt that there was a big chance to shine in this role and a test to my acting abilities, so I decided to take it in the end."

In the film, Yoyo's character starts off as a sweet lovable character, but the nightmare leaves her exhausted and all the strange occurrences leave her psychologically scarred. During the filming, Yoyo had to scream loudly and cry out often and in one scene that told of her being possessed, she immediately rushed madly towards the camera. When Edmond and Michael saw her, they tried to stop her and then she burst into tears. When the director called to stop, she could not stop crying and got even worse as she curled herself up trembling. Edmond was very scared when he saw this and immediately got a cup of hot tea for her to calm her down.

Although it was hard work filming for the movie, Yoyo has no regrets about it and believes that this was a very valuable experience.

[Ta Kung Pao 10/10/04]

"Split Second" is following on from "War and Beauty" and after its first week of airing, it does not seem to be attracting the same volume of viewers as "War" and is being accused of copying plotlines from "Infernal Affairs" and "24" as many scenes look vaguely familiar. At a promotional event held in a shopping mall yesterday, cast members Kevin Cheng, Yoyo Mung and Patrick Tam strongly defended the show, saying any similarities are coincidental and if people are discussing the show, then it proves that they have been watching, so it is a good thing.

Kevin says he is not worried about the ratings, after all it has only been airing for a week and it is difficult to compare with "War". As for the allegations that the show is a copycat of "Infernal Affairs" and "24", he feels that maybe the show has some very similar background and storyline, in particular when it comes to characters and the emphasis on time, so this makes it easy for people to compare, but it is in no way a direct copy, merely a show of the same genre.

Patrick also indicates that the show is not a copy, but does bear some shadows of the other shows. With the suggestion that this show will not be able to attract the housewife viewers, Patrick feels that to attract male viewers is a good thing because this means that the men can go home earlier. Also, an original soundtrack has been released for the show, but Patrick does not appear on the cover. He explains that this is because the record was released about six months ago and he was still contracted to Chinastar and due to copyright issues, he was not able to appear on the cover of this album and he feels rather helpless and disappointed about it.

Yoyo says she has heard some accusations of the show being a copy and feels that this is just people looking for something to talk about, but this is better than the show having no gossip at all. It also proves that the television industry is very great and has many viewers supporting it. Since the show has aired, she has not had many scenes so far, but she indicates that she does play a major part in the series because if it was not then she would not have taken it on. Her scenes have just not emerged as yet. There were some reports yesterday that Charmaine Sheh has three series in the nominations for "My Favourite Female Lead" and a higher chance than anyone else to win the award. Yoyo says that she has never pinned any hopes on winning the award and she is more bothered about the ratings that the show receives.

[Oriental Daily]

Yoyo Mung and Edmond Leung were at the Mai Po Nature Reserve yesterday, preparing the stations for the 12th "Mai Po Environmental Walk" and actively promoting the environmental message to the public. Visiting Mai Po for the first time, Yoyo seemed especially excited and she said happily: "When I was young, I lived in the New Territories, so I do prefer the great outdoors. I have wanted to come to Mai Po for a while, but because you have to apply to enter, then I have never been. I did go for many hikes before, to places such as Lamma Island and Tai Mo Shan, but the most exciting time was when I went to a remote island with some friends and we had to split up to spend the night alone. I was really quite scared because I had nothing with me and just a little bit of sulphur powder to avoid the snakes."

Also, Yoyo's new movie 'Nightmare' will be released on Thursday and in the film, Yoyo and good friend Jo Koo are bothered by ghosts and spirits and need to find a way of exorcising them in a terrifying plot. During filming, there were a couple of strange occurrences and in one scene, Yoyo had to shoot a car crash scene, but she a little absent minded and stood in the wrong place, resulting in the car driving into her and injuring her left leg as well as leaving some suspicions about why this may have happened.

Yoyo Mung has become a shop-owner yesterday as she opened her new reflexology centre in Happy Valley yesterday. Good friend Fiona Yuen was on hand to offer her congratulations and she received flowers from Dicky Cheung. Yoyo says that she did not want to 'borrow publicity' from other stars, so she did not invite any of her friends from the industry as guests, saying: "I would rather invite them to come and try it out instead."

She reveals that she will also be opening a Chiu Chow restaurant next month in the same area and she is one of four partners in the two businesses, each investing a six-figure sum. When asked if her boyfriend was one of the partners, she says: "I must emphasise I do not have a boyfriend, but there are no ex-boyfriends in the four of us. (Are you upset at investing a six-figure sum in one go?) Not at all! Being the boss for the first time is worth it but I am not used to people referring to me as the boss! If my friends come to try it I will give them a discount, but I don't know how to do reflexology myself."

Bowie Lam, Bobby Au Yeung and Yoyo Mung were interviewed for "Celebrity Roadshow" yesterday and having known each other for over ten years, Bobby and Bowie laughed the other's bellies were still there. Bobby points out that he has not lost his figure over the years, but has not really been keeping fit, just going racing or playing ball once in a while. He is afraid that if he starts dieting, it will all pile back on when he loses patience.

Bowie likes to eat sweet things and yesterday he asked Bowie about his thoughts on keeping fit. Reporters jokingly asked him if he was worried he would not be able to be male lead if he became fat and Bowie says that he and Bowie are both character actors, but he would like to find a slimming centre to help him get rid of his belly. Having recently released an album, Bowie thanks his two friends beside him for their help in one of his songs "Sunday", where Bobby takes part in some of the rap sections and Yoyo has a few lines in the song. With this her first singing attempt, Yoyo says that she is not very confident.

Yoyo reveals that she has experienced being a production assistant, helping out her director friend in an advertisement. After trying out life behind the camera, she feels very lucky to be an artiste and she will not have any more complaints about the crew. Yoyo's investment in a reflexology centre has opened, but she has not asked about how business is. She wanted to try the services for herself earlier, but all the rooms had been fully booked and she was only able to use the large main room, so even as a boss, she did not have any special treatment.

[Ta Kung Pao & The Sun 17/11/04]

Charmaine Sheh, Raymond Lam, Tavia Yeung and Kevin Cheng took part in the blessing ceremony for new series "Yummy Yummy" yesterday and after earlier reports of her lunching with Lok Yik Ling and Catherine Tsang, Charmaine was asked whether she is now confident about winning the anniversary award. She laughs: "Is it that easy? I did not arrange to meet them, they asked me to eat with them and we do meet up for lunch usually, but with the anniversary approaching, everyone is rather sensitive." She admits that she is confident of winning an award, but the two things cannot be linked together in this way. She also refused to reveal what the conversation was about, just mentioning that Catherine told her to keep working hard and the company will give her plenty of opportunities.

Charmaine says that if she wins the award, then she will think about meeting someone for marriage, because her grandma who is in her nineties has seen her working so hard and has hurried her to get married and give up working. When asked whether her target partner will be the winner of the male lead award, she laughs that she has not thought about this matter, but he will be her perfect male lead. Charmaine has chosen her outfit and jewellery for the anniversary show and as she has a few sets to choose from, she has not worked out the value, as the most important thing is that it suits her image, but she is interested in seeing Gigi Lai's $30 million worth of jewels.

On the other hand, Gigi, Bowie Lam and Moses Chan were rehearsing for their 'clog dance' for the anniversary celebration and when asked about Charmaine's lunch meeting, Gigi laughs that everyone has lunch meetings with the bosses. Bowie also laughs that after the success of "War", all the cast members have had lunch meetings with the bosses and Moses Chan says that he is often on the phone to the bosses. As for what they talk about over dinner, Gigi says it is just an ordinary meal, because the company likes to meet with its staff once a month.

Although Yoyo Mung has worked with TVB for a number of years, this is her first appearance at an anniversary celebration. She says: "Dancing with Adam, even with a dance background myself is quite nerve-wracking. Also, I have to prepare an evening gown, so the feeling is like getting married, having to rush around to prepare. I have chosen my outfit now and I have sponsors for my jewellery, but I don't know the value of it. I have also bought some shoes to go with the dress." She says that she does not care for the competition between the ladies as long as her own outfit matches her.

Talking of "Split Second" only reaching ratings of 26 points in the final week, Yoyo mentions that is it better than one of her other series "The Green Hope" that only reached 25 points. She says that the good reviews and fresh storylines are more important. Kevin says that he is a little disappointed because after several months of hard work, then naturally they had hoped for better results. Maybe this genre is too fresh, so he had suspected that it would not be too suitable for all of the audience, but they wanted to have a breakthrough, so there was a conflict of interests. He says: "Whenever something new comes along, then it is a risk and there will be a day when it will succeed. 'War and Beauty' for instance was another new experiment, but it did well." He thinks that the company should not stop trying new things because of ratings, otherwise they will not be able to keep all the viewers and in the long run, fresh is what they want.

Adam Cheng and the eight beauties will be doing a 'Horn Dance' and were rehearsing yesterday. Some of the female artistes were absent, but those taking part included Anne Heung, Tavia, Leila Tong and Yoyo. During rehearsals, Adam accidentally pulled apart Tavia's collar and nearly went where he shouldn't have. A rather embarrassed Adam was asked if he had a reputation and he replied: "I have made mistakes, but there have been no complaints! (Who was it?) I was in a muddle so I made a lot of mistakes to start with, but I do it sincerely, thanks to the arrangement of the company." Adam says openly that this performance will not only overcome difficulties with the costumes, the dance moves have left him with headache and sore knees. However, he is determined to pull off the performance as he says jokingly: "TVB spirit - no-one dies for nothing!"

[Ta Kung Pao 03/12/04]

Dicky Cheung, Yoyo Mung, Rain Li, Emme Wong, Natalie Ng, Jerry Lamb, Anson Leung, Wong Yat Fei and Siu Ding Yat were at the press conference for "Kung Fu Soccer" that will be aired on TVB after "The Conqueror's Story" as of next Monday.

At the event, Dicky was bombarded with flirting from the ladies as Yoyo using her eyes, Emme showing off her beautiful legs and Natalie giving a birdsong rendition, but when it came to Rain, Dicky turned to her and said: "I don't need it from 'big sister in law'. I treat her like a mother, so I respect her a lot." When Rain heard this, she said: "Hey, don't mess around!" and in the end she passed the test without having to do anything.

When she was joked with on the stage, Rain seemed rather shocked, but responding to remarks that she seemed rather angry, she explained: "I was rather embarrassed actually, because I don't want this title and I still have plenty of opportunities." When she was asked to pose for a photo with rumoured boyfriend Siu Ding Yat, she tried to delay it and would not stand next to him, at which point Siu turned to the press and said: "Don't force her! Give us a way out!!" When the press asked Rain to be more gracious about it, only then did she stand next to Siu and said accusingly: "What's wrong? You did not come over to me?" Siu explained tht he wanted to have the photo taken on the stage in front of the promotional boards, so they went onto the stage for the picture.

Rain also announced yesterday that she has changed her Chinese name back to the original character for her "Wah". She says: "On my ID card, it uses this 'Wah', but my first management company changed it to 'Wah' (with a 'wood radical). My new manager Mrs Lam has checked it with a fortune reader and they have told me to change it back because the other 'Wah' represents a type of tree that grows and dies quickly, but the other 'Wah' means the region of China that suggests I will make good progress there."

Also, when Rain was filming in Hengdian earlier for "Lady Wang in Exile", she was given a necklace by a director and hopes that this will bring her good luck. When asked why she was given this, she smiles that maybe because she was playing Lady Wang. Asked if her boyfriend knows about this, she immediately said that she does not have a boyfriend. Then when she was asked if Siu knows about this, she says that the whole company and her assistant knowns. Asked if she was afraid that Siu would be jealous, she says it is nothing to do with him. She adds: "This director is well versed in the I-Ching and philosophy, so he read my fortune and says that I will have great luck in the future." Since wearing the necklace, she has won a few hundred dollars on the Mark Six lottery.

After letting slip about Rain and Siu's relationship and embarrassing the couple, Dicky went on to announce loudly: "Haven't they been together for a while? Only joking, what is there to be shy about, men and women dating is a very common thing and they go well together. I hope they start a family soon!"

As for his own relationship with his girlfriend, Dicky says it is stable and laughs that he is waiting for his fox spirit to apepar. Later he adds: "I will look after myself. (When will you be starting a family then?) Don't talk about this!"

As for his production "Kung Fu Soccer" being aired on TVB, what hopes does Dicky have for the show? He says that he hopes to bring up TVB's ratings again and do better than "War and Beauty" because the series has taken over $10 million to make. However, he says that he will not pin too much on the ratings otherwise he may become crazy with the pressure after so long. As for this show being aired at the same time as Stephen Chow's "Kung Fu", he denies that this is an intentional arrangement and actually he had hoped for the show to be aired simultaneously with Japan and Taiwan next year, but as the show has been sold to TVB now, he cannot control this.

Nancy Sit, Miriam Yeung, Leo Ku, Yoyo Mung and Alex Fong (Chung Shun) were invited to an opening ceremony, but none of the stars actually turned up at the event. Later, Yoyo indicated in a telephone interview: "I received a call from the company at the last minute, saying that the event had been cancelled, so I don't know what happened." Nancy said: "There were two PR companies asking me to do the event, but I don't know which one was the main organiser. I had to do the Tung Wah event, so I did not have time anyway and I turned it down." As for Miriam and Leo, their managers both said that they had not agreed to take part.
