you know huge...his name is dong yong right???
but then why do people call him tong yuan all of a sudden?/
did i miss something in between there???

the reason is becuase since he was working for the dude to pay him back for burying his parents, whom i can't remember the name of, he decides to change dong yong's name becuase he thought it sounds funny for him to say. So he changes it to tong yuan, which relates to money. hope that helps.

I thought he changed it to "Yong Cai" meaning that there will always be money or something. I noticed the Tong Yuan thing too... Maybe they dubbed it for the TV version and changed his name. Well never mind because I think the character's voices sounded the same.

I've watched 41/44 episodes so far and it's been pretty good. I like the funny parts more than the dramatic parts. Not sure if I will finish though, considering the ending.

Ariel is dubbed in the series right? I don't think that's her real voice and sometimes her mouth moves differently from what is being heard.

i'm pretty sure her voice is dubbed..i hated it at first but you get used to it =(

Ariel is from Taiwan so of course she has to be dubbed. I think she is dubbed in every version.... I am glad that they at least used Hu Ge's real voice...

I just started watching this series and I'm now obsessed >.< [although i'm still like only up 2 the second episode xp] I want to like finish the whole thing in one day but it's impossible. I've only watched the first 3 episodes, but I like this series already Does anyone know if this serie is based on a manga? Because it seemed that way to me when they showed the cartoon pics of the main characters along with the opening song. If it's based on some kind of manga, does anyone know what it's called? And the songs in this series are just great! I love all of them. Especially the opening song bye S.H.E and the ending song by Tank

ya i think it maybe from some manga i am not so sure too but 1 thing i notice through this story is taken out from the legend story we may see on chinese opera because i was watching kang xi lai le last week on the old chinese opera actor and actress i think they did metions about the story of dong yong and qi gong zhu i was like so shocked

The original story isn't based on any manga, it's an old Chinese folk tale about Dong Yong and Xiao Qi (except she's just called the 7th fairy).
