reading other ppls posts about this series ... i am looking forward to watching this
even tho i dont like how Ariels voice gets dubbed .. o well cant be helped
and its 39 eps long

gonna take ages to finish watching
I thought it was kind of a dumb show. Ariel exaggerates the cuteness. Hu Ge doesn't have the scholarly acting. I love the cast but I just can't accept how they made this legend into such a stupid comedy. I'm sure it will turn into mushy romance later but the beginning really turned me off. I only looked forward to Tae and Florence but they have such little screentime that I gave the series up. Bobby didn't even appeal to me. He was all stiff and serious looking. I know that's his character but it was boring. I was interested in Han Xue but in the 1st 5 tapes, she showed up ONCE! in a stupid battle in space. What the heck. I hope other people enjoyed it. I didn't and won't.

i loved in the 4th ep when she came down for the 2nd time with her memory of Dong Yong erased to spend 1/2 a year learning to be good as punishment
It was so funny how she acted while her "grandpa" was "dying" , like she couldnt give a care.
The whole time she was pretending to be a boy was pretty funny
im up to ep 16 now and really enjoying it

THIS IS SO NOT FAIR! THEY CUT THE 48 SERIES IN TO 30 SERIES! I HATE SINGAPORE MEDIACORP FOREVER! THE ENDING IS VERY CONFUSING LORHX.
THE ENDING IMMEDIATELY GONE INTO THE MORDEN PLACE. AND IF THATS THE CASE, DOES THAT MEAN XIAO QI NEVER MET XIAO DI GUA? HOW CAN THAT BE? AND HOW DO THEY RECGONIZE EACH OTHER? XIAO QI WON'T GROW OLD AND DIE OR ANYTHING, SO SHE MIGHT REMEMBER. BUT WHAT ABOUT DONG YONG? SINCE HE IS REBORNED, HE WILL FORGET ABOUT XIAO QI RIGHT? THIS IS ALL VERY CONNFUSING.

xiao qi never saw her son...
i think they made it that they will meet in modern shanghai after like 1000 yrs or something, and it is their past life that they feel connected to or something... ariel knows wat is going on and stuff... it is jsut a stori, it is for you to interpret =D
xiao qi doesn't grow old or die, she is immortal, she was reborn to a mortal at the end to be with di gua =D
it is all set by the 'emperor' so they will be with each other that 'life time' =D
LSY - ariel had to exageerate. and it wasn't dat over
hu ge wasn't suppose to look smart... he was suppose to be even a tad bit DUMB... like so innocent u think he is SLOW... dat wat his character... he wasn't suppose to be the brightest person la .....

Hi Halo!
Thanks for your response! I know who you are talking about. It isn't Fu Zi, it is this other man... I think HU Ge calls him Shi Fu... He even hit him when he said he wanted to marry Xiao QI. I guess you aren't at that part yet then.... I really want to see this series but don't have time yet...
Anyway, here is the translation for the ending subsong sang by Tank. The song is so nice and reminds me of their love. Sorry for the bad translation.. I tried... It is so hard to translate songs.
Tian Wai Fei Xian-Ending subsong
Sung by: Tank
Translated by: Trinie
-Qian Nian Lei-Thousand year tears
-Finally saying good-bye, late autumn stopped, only one eye gets close to the falling flowers
-The shadow of a person sits alone by the window sill, night has deepened and became even more lonely
-A certain distance separates two heads, loved/fallen in love and then want to separate
-There are not any affairs since the east winds have already departed, raise up the memories like yesterday
-Waving and dropping is not only your tears, there is also barely the remains of the world
-Laugh at the wind, sing highly of the separation, I cannot hear and see it
-Passing through a thousand years of teardrops, but can only have dreams to see them
-I really want to say good-bye to you, even if in only one aspect
-The unfinished love from the previous lifetime, is breaking up inside my blood
-Become fast asleep in the lingering feelings, become clear headed and the illusions will get wiped out/destroyed again and again
-(My)dream is in the space between/opening of the thousand silks of hair, I am stranded in the dream
-In the past, the moonlight is finished, (you) think and long for someone in the clear blueness
-You enjoy a distant view of the horizon, I enjoy a distant view of your face
-I will closely remember the appearance of your face, in the next life, I will look for you
-Waving and falling is not only your tears, laugh at the wind and sing highly of separation
-I don’t care how much longer I still have to wait, how many more years……
By the way, I think Hu Ge's voice is dubbed in this series since I have heard that voice many times in other series... Or am I wrong??? I heard that it isn't his real voice though. I wish it was..
i love the subtheme song for TWFX!! do you noe a site where i culd download this song plus opening song for the series!!!

Whoo ! I FINALLY saw the last episode. I decided to download the chinese version of the episode and watch it instead, just the last one though. Can't resist the temptation >.< The viet version takes a little bit longer, but to me it seems like an eternity. lolz.
Newayz, wow wat a sad and depressing episode. I thought I was well prepare for it since I read the spoilers already, but I still cried my eyes out. T_T Ariel and Hu Ge did a great job. The way they look at each other in the end just break my heart. So much love and longing. Those two are so cute together. I wish they could have a modern serie instead of an ancient one again.
There were so many bittersweet moments. But when I saw the words "wo bu ai ni" on the paper I started to cry even more. It's so sad because that line holds so many significant meanings behind it. I just find that very depressing. I don't know, maybe it's just me. lolz. I didn't completely understand what they were saying so I probably miss out on the other parts. Okay, now i gotta go the other episodes to watch more Ariel and Hu Ge. ~.*

Oh yeah, i just noticed that almost all the GIRLS voices in TWFX are dubbed...and also Hu Ge's best friend in the series, since he's NOT a native speaker!! BUT, I was TOOOOOO happpy to see that Hu Ge's VOICE wasn't dubbed!!!

I didn't understand very much of it so it was a little confusing to me.. but i love the relationship between ariel and HuGe.. they make such a cute couple and they have many funny scene together.. it touched my heart.. but the ending i agree was really sad.. (SPOILERS) they didn't end up together and HuGe has to wait for a thousand years before meeting her in her human life... It was really touching.. haha.. I'm watching it again in viet dub right now.. which is getting alot more clearer.

i heard that in the end he gets the girl (Saijin) but some say he still has feelings for the cat lady. he dies in the end, so they say. But i like the Saijin, maybe because i haven't seen the cat lady yet but still i think he should just stick to Saijin.

I'm watching ep 21 right now...I think it's good so far, but I'm assuming it's going to get draggy cuz the plot is... i don't know... repeating i guess. Cuz they love, then she lost her memory, then they love again, and now he looses his memory... It's really funny though and Ariel is SOOOOO cute. And I don't think the main plot is being focused on (the love between Huge and Ariel) But other than that, it's good. I hope it gets better though...I hear that it's gets really sad after. The beginning was really funny and there were many happy moments, I hope it's a happy ending.

I finished it yesterday... and I must say I was disappointed by the ending. First of all, what's the modern thing supposed to represent? Cuz HuGe alreadys dies...if it's 100years after. And why wasn't the lamps lit anymore??? And even YuDi seemed sad about it? Why did Huge leave XiaoQi without saying goodbye and left her a note saying "i don't love you"... That's not how he feels, right? And why was 100 days the longest they can stay together? I thought the "heaven king" let them love already... sorry for all the questions... but I absolutely LOVED this series!! Ariel is SOOOO cute. It's sweet and sad at the same time. Ariel and HuGe did a really gud job portraying their characters...and also the person playing HaoQi...O ya...last questions.. how exactly did HaoQi die?

I don't understand Chinese too well & havn't been watching this series for awhile. if u went back a couple of page on this thread, u gonna find the ans.
this is what I thought about the ending..
- they can't be together since XiaoQi isn't human.
- the lamb went off indicate that both DiGua & Xiao DiGua already died.
- the note 'I don't love you' is what LaoFuZi give to XiaoQi sister to end her suffering.. it doesn't mean what the wording say.. as long as they know in their heart how much love they have for each other than such words held no meaning.. so DiGua also give this to XiaoQi, its acutally mean 'I love you so much that I'm willing to let you go'
- modern day Shanghai, DiGua & XiaoQi reincarnate to meet eachother again after a thousand years... Happy Ending.
- I don't understand the 100 days thing either..
- HaoQi give up his lives to help DiGua go to heaven.. he died in that cave right?
That all I can remember right now

This serie is boring... Better for girl that like love story!

The storyline is kinda of "Find the truth love". After the first 2 episodes, I stop watching it because it is not worth to watch! Chinese Paladin is something I can't forget to watch (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, if you didn't watch it yet).
I have it in DVD if you still want it (Vietnamese & Cantonese audio + hardsub subtitle).

I simply love the ending although it's really sad at the same time. Shows that love will last even for thousand years.

The lamps represents Hu Ge and their son....when they weren't lite up anymore, it means that both of them had died...

The reason that Hu Ge said 'I don't love you anymore'...it just referred back to the time when Fu Zi said that to Xiao Qi's sister. When you love someone to the point of not loving..it really means that your love for this person has surpassed the limit to the point of no return. Not sure what I am saying..

But it just simply means Hu Ge really loves Xiao Qi and will never stop loving her. *so touching*
As for the 100 days, the Heaven King was actually really generous, he helped them secretly. They could've lesser days. I think 100 days was actually the max. of days they could be together. Although the Heaven King really loves Xiao Qi but he couldn't just let go off the heaven rules. If he did, then what if one day someone does the same thing?
In the end, when Hu Ge met Ariel in the modern days setting, I guess it's up to us to interpret the ending. It seem that many of us think that after thousand years, the Heavenly King gave in and let Xiao Qi returned to earth as a mortal. I found it so sweet that Hu Ge was able to feel that he knows Ariel. To me, it means that his love for her has never died even if Di Gua did.
Hao Qi sacrifice his life to helped Di Gua goes to heaven to find Xiao Qi. I love this type of friendship.

Hey Thanks for the explaination!! But if I remember correctly, Di Gua already left for heaven b4 Hao Qi died. I remembering them battling and like all of a sudden HaoQi goes in the mode of dying. It wassn't clear to me how he died. Did the "gatekeeper" kill him or something. 2 last uncleared points. Why is 100 days the max, taht's like 3 month... in mortal time and that's really not a lot of time. i mean he could have at least let Xiao Qi have the baby! If the Heaven King is already making exceptions for her daughter, y not grant her more happiness? And y didnt' Di Gua say goodbye to Xiao Qi...

he just left in the middle of the night... 1000 years after, isn't Di Gua dead already?... how can he still feel the presence of Xiao Qi. I wish there was more to the ending, not just they simply smile at each other, cuz that can represent so many things...Sry for the questions, but since I liked this series soooooo much, I need to understand everything..

I didn't like TWFX in the beginning b/c it seemed really childish and silly. But later on, the story gettter and there are more characterization. Awesome series. Two thumbs up. I can't WAIT to see Ge Ge and Ariel collaborate again in LOCH 2007!

I'm on the fence with this series. On one hand, I thought the performances were good, some parts were funny as heck, and because of TWFX, I'm looking forward to Ariel and Hu Ge collaborating again in LOCH, but on the other hand, I found the story a bit repetitive with the way Xiao Qi and Di Gua kept getting separated and Di Gua having his memory erased. Since these tragic deity and human love stories aren't exactly original, I was also hoping for something new from this version, but that wasn't the case unfortunately.
Even though I understand the reason for doing so, I wished they hadn't dubbed Ariel's voice because I found it annoying. Ariel's real voice is cuter even though it's deeper than her dubbed one and it sounds way more sincere. And because TWFX was the first time I saw Ariel, I actually thought that was her actual voice >.< The chances are slim, but I really hope they won't use the same voice if they're going to dub Ariel in LOCH.
Anyway, I did like the ending where they fast forwarded to modern times though because it gave us hope that they can finally be together after all the hardships and obstacles.

It was so sad that I cried like I was being dumped or something! I felt so sad for him when XiaoQi told him that she never loved him and he screamed his heart out!

OMG so sadx10. So far Ariel and Hu Ge have been great actors in this movie and I want to just plant my butt down on my bed and keep watching it til it ends but I had to come to work. You can try looking for it at the
We Love Asian OSTs forum, but you have to be a registered member to view the site. Once you become a member, here's the direct
link to the TWFX thread. The theme song is 千年泪 (Thousand Year Tears) by Tank, SHE has one song, and Hu Ge actually sings two songs. I love the OST too (even the many instrumentals). It's among the reasons why I continued watching the series

And whoops, I just realized I made a mistake in my previous post. It was S.H.E who sang the theme song. Tank sang the ending one. It's been a while since I finished the series

my sister-in-law just ordered this series. its very good so far, but they said a lot of parts were missing. Even though I understand the reason for doing so, I wished they hadn't dubbed Ariel's voice because I found it annoying. Ariel's real voice is cuter even though it's deeper than her dubbed one and it sounds way more sincere. And because TWFX was the first time I saw Ariel, I actually thought that was her actual voice >.< The chances are slim, but I really hope they won't use the same voice if they're going to dub Ariel in LOCH.
omg. *gasp* i didnt know it was dubbed!
that lead actress (i think is the lead anyways) reminds me of Crytral (lui yi fei) at frist glance but one a closer look crytsal is way prettier by at least a mile, i wonder why they did use crystal instead i mean i think she acts better and her face is extraordinary. any ways i think this series would have been better if they use her instead of Ariel Lin.

I think Liu Yi Fei looks way too old for the part. If Liu Yi Fei took the part as Xiao Qi, it would not have the same effect, the fun parts won't be as fun.
