I love this series, its sooo good. And its sooo sad too, funny at some parts too. I burned myself a copy, im thinking if i should buy it or not.

I've watched it on youtube but I'm definitely going to buy the DVD because I want to be able to watch it whenever I want and fastforward to all the good Xiao Qi/Di Gua bits (I tended to skip the Hao Qi/Sai Jin/Xiang Xue Hai bits) although I LOVE any scene with TAE in it.

Just a question. I downloaded the dvd version and was wondering if the ending has been cut off. The last scene was Di Gua smiling when he saw Xi Qi in modern day. Anyways, they are both such cuties!!

Honestly, I don't think LOCH will make them more popular because that series has been remade many many times. Also, the previous stars and versions have been well received. Therefore, I don't think Hu Ge and Ariel will be well received if they do remake LOCH.... I think they are better off making other series. I think it will hurt them more than help them with their popularity since it is a JY novel, so people will have very high expectations. They will be compared the the previous stars and versions as well.

Trinie, I can see your point. The 80 version of LOCH is so loved by many(I'm one of them) that it's really difficult not to compare. But bc LOCH serie is from HK, not many china ppl has watch it before. I've couple of friends in Shanghai that never watch the 80 version LOCH. Plus the newer generation may not like the old version bc of the fighting etc. The only version my friends in Shanghai has watched was the recent one with Li Ai Peng as Guo Jing. I personally didn't like it bc I found the main leads too old to play the characters but I think Hu Ge and Ariel are actually suitable for the roles. Well, it's too early to say but since I am a huge fan of Hu Ge and Ariel, I wish that the serie will do well. Also even if not, I don't think it will bring down their popularity bc ppl know that it's a very challenging role especially the character of Huang Rong...a good eg. Athena and Chi Lam in LOCH 90 version...they didn't do too well but it did increase their popularity.

i think that no matter how LOCH turns out... huge and ariel will still benefit... all ariel fans will probably support it... and probably all hu ge fans will support... even if they don't like it... they will still watch it for the sake for hu ge being in there ^^

it doesn't matter, at least they can add such a show to ehri filmography.. i know that personally i will SUPPORT it no matter wat... i neva read his books, and i am sure 2 see it with ge ge and ariel first will give me a fab impressiooon!!!!

I agree. It's too fast to remake LOCH again. People will get sick of it more than like it. Moreover, I don't think Ariel will pull off HR character well, You know ... HR is supposed to be a very beautiful girl. Although Ariel is a bit pretty but she isn't that beautiful for HR role. As for Hu Ge, I think he will do it well, but have to find out other actress for being HR ..... NOT ARIEL.

I originally saw TWFX in Shanghai in um... February probably but by the time I'd watched it, my first episode was when Di Gua was already a servant and so I fell in love with it but then I watched all the beginning bits afterwards and made me love it even more!

For me, I had only watch the version of LOCH where Li Ya Peng and Zhou Xun were the leading artiste. I only like Zhou Xun's performance becasue she acts wells as Huang Rong. As for LYP, i think he sorta make the character of Guo Jing "dumber" which was suppose to be "dumb";)
Anyway, hoope that both Ariel & Hu Ge can act this 2 characters sucessfully

Actually according to the novel, the most beautiful girl in LOCH is actually Yang Hong's wife, Mok Lim Zhi (don't know how to translate), basically Yang Guo's mom. HR in terms of look is actually pretty only, not beautiful. It just strange that in all the past series, the directors used the prettier girls to play HR. The 90 verison with Athena was just horrible, bc the girl that play Mok Lim Zhi is not even close to being okay. Sorry if I offend anyone. Anyways, back to the topic, Ariel is right for HR if you really think about it, bc she got the ENERGY and very cute and HR does not have to be even beautiful if according to the novel(although I personally think that Ariel is!!)lol...Also, she can be so tricky and witty!

I am just wondering who you think will suit HR since you suggested to find someone else? Btw, it got to be a taiwanese actress I heard. I honestly can't think of anyone other than Ariel.

Ariel will be the most suitable ... to me, Looks are not that important (But to me, I still think Ariel is pretty and can even be consider beautiful because of her personality and acting persona ) ... as long as they can act well ... and we know Ariel is really talented in that department.

Thanks for your feedback. I really like Ariel and Hu Ge a lot too, so I really hope that you don't think I am trying to put them down because I am not. The thing is, I have seen people compare the actors and actresses and versions of JY's remakes and the picture was NOT pretty at all.... Also, as pookegege has said, the most recent remake was the 2003 version which was not that long ago. Therefore, I kind of doubt that many people will watch this remake unless you are a big fan of Hu Ge and Ariel and are willing to watch any series they are in.
I only read parts of the novel and have heard that Huang Rong is the most beautiful. Mok NIan Ci is pretty as well, but not as pretty as Huang Rong. But then again, I haven't read the whole novel so am not 100% positive. Anyway, I do support them 100%, but highly doubt that LOCH will give them a boost in their popularity.
I think ARiel is more cute than pretty, but then again Barbara Yung was more cute to me as well. IT was more of her acting, not her looks that stood out to me. I think it will be that way with Ariel too.

Oh no, I don't think you're putting them down. I like debate anyways. I see your points too and it does make sense but I just see it alittle different. Like example, the new ROCH, LYF and I can't remember the name of the guy that play Yang Guo, anyways, I think they did okay but nothing compared to the old version of Andy/Idy but I do believe this serie gives them more fame bc it's well known, ppl still will watch it, although there will be comparison but atleast more ppl will know them, I guess for LYF and that guy, they're already popular in China but for Ariel, ppl who doesn't watch TWFX won't likely know who she is but they'll likely to watch LOCH, not sure if I make any sense..lol..Bad or good, I think she will still be able to capture some more fans. Maybe I am just being too optimistic.

When I read the novel, I really think Mok Nian Ci is actually the most beautiful that's why Yang Hong was capture by her beauty at first sight, although he did not love her until later. But whatever is the case, like you said, the acting , not the look that should stand out. I think Ariel will do fine, she may not neccesary make the best Huang Rong ( I mean Barbara is a legend herself) but I think I'll enjoy the serie no matter what, Ariel and Hu Ge!!

You can actually download the dvd version at linichen.net. You've to register though. It will be located under the forum section/media database/ then you should see Tian Wai Fei Xian. What's really nice is that it's http, not bt.
