Niki earlier filmed a bunch of new comercials for the internet accessories brand Netgear for TVB. That day, Niki had to film in front of a huge fan, causing an elegant feel. But even though the director had high requests and expectations, Niki still tried her best to work some hard poses in front of the big fan. They had many takes, causing Niki's hair to mess up and even causing Niki to feel dizzy.
Niki responded, "After being blown by wind, I felt a little dizzy. But I saw some very pretty pictures that the photographer took, so I thought it was pretty worth it!" Because of Nik is hardworking, the director gave Niki some of her favorite sushi as a reward.
When mischievous Niki saw a big plate of sushi, she immediately called everyone together to play a game. Whoever lose must eat the sushi with wasabi. In the end, Niki's assistant lost and had to eat two peices of sushi thats very hot. But because the assistant can't eat food thats too hot, Niki helped her eat a piece, causing tears to fall from her eyes and screamed out loud. After Niki said, "Our hearts are together, of course I had to help her! Actually, I know she was very busy scheduling things for me, and very hardworking, so I wanted to use this time to pay her back."

Niki VS Jade for BMA's only female singer?
After joining Niki Chow joined BMA, there have been reports that she wants to take over Jade Kwan. Latest reports say that Niki told her company that there can be only one female singer in the company. Both of them say these reports are rumours and are not true. It is said that Jade even cried in an interview saying that she was being pushed away.
When Niki was at Navigator ICQ’s birthday, she was asked about Jade complaining tearfully, she says, “I have not read or seen these reports and cannot comment on them.” Niki said that herself and Jade do not have anything against each other. Niki has just released a CD and does not want herself advertising the rumours. She says that she will only do what her job requires of her and will do her jobs well.
Niki said while laughing that she has not had bad rumours since coming into the entertainment circle, so these rumours are very fresh and unique.

Joey Yung's Bi-Heart & Pure Niki album reviews
All are based on my opinions and I have no intention of forcing anyone to beleive with me.
I had been caught up-to-date with the Canto music scene lately, and here are the 2 recent albums that i have a chance to listen to: Joey Yung's "Bi-Heart" & Niki Chow's debut album "Pure Niki".
"Bi-Heart", the latest album by Joey Yung is actually a very decent album to listen to. And when i said decent, i mean it is better than her last album, Give Love A Break. First of all i had been a somewhat Joey fan all these years until after her album "Show Up". I do have positive views on her because i think she has great live singing skills base on today's standards. Her "Show Up" album was decent and was entertaining to listen to. However, she went downhill from there. She released simultaneously three dissapointing albums in a row. First was the
Mandarin Album "Solo Photo", then "Nine 2 Five", and then "Give Love a Break". All three albums have few varieties and mostly focused on ballads, which sound entirely the same everytime. Give me any ballads on her past 3 cds and i wouldn't even know what is the difference. She is like a singing robot in my view. EEG give her songs, and she uses her singing "skill" to make the song passionate. Not only it didn't turn out to be passionate (i aint feeling the songs at all), it even make her unbearable as a singer. If you want to be the next queen of canto pop, then at least pick good songs and stop singing those same tunes all over again. You have voice and looks, so start improving on your selections of songs. You are a loosing a fan here because of your overwhelming ballads and k songs.
Anyway, back to her newest album. They contain a lot of interlude music which did annoyed a lot of peoples (i personally do not mind). The first plug, "Sing More Strongly", is annoying and plain crap. A lot of peoples like this song, but to me, this is another example of "poor selections of songs". I do credit her for plugging a non-ballad song for once, though.
After i survived listening through "Sing More Strongly", the album got so much better. The ballads in here are at least somewhat interesting and enjoyable to listen to. Even though it isn't any different from her previous stuff, at least it does not sound like "My Pride" or "Split Technique". I personally enjoy the ballads much, much better. If she must sing ballads all the time to show off her skills, then at least pick these ballads, al right?
There are actually more upbeat songs in here, which give me some light of hope that Joey is finally having more varieties unlike her past 3 albums (and the Chihuahua single - don't ever attempt to do silly rap again). I enjoy some of the upbeat songs on here, like "Mixed Peoples", and "Useless Good Deeds". They are very fun & entertaining to listen to.
Overall, this album in general is dissapointing due to her popularity in the music industry. However, it is decent compared to her previous albums because it has more varieties and the ballads are at least very decent to listen to. Rating: 6/10. Recommended tracks: "Mixed Peoples", "Useless Good Deeds", and "Horizon's Courageous Girl".
The 2nd album i want to review today is actress turn singer Niki Chow, Pure Niki. Not only this album is surprisingly good and enjoyable, Niki is actually decent as a newcomer. Yes, you can hear her breathing in the recorded songs every now and then, but she is still acceptable as a newcomer from these recent years(Stephy, Fiona, Theresa, anyone?). There are very few songs on this album, but to my surprise, the songs are actually very happy-go-lucky and entertaining. I had no expectations for this album that all, so i think it's the reason why i enjoy it so much. Niki Chow is a talented actress, and i hope she can even improve more on her singing, because she shows great potential. I had seen her performing live, and she seems promising. The most noteable song on here is "Too Bad He Has A Girlfriend". It is a very catchy ballad and absolutely heart warming to listening to. The most recent plug, "Want Wind Have Wind" is a summerish song which will take a lot of listens to let it grow on you. You will like it if you are a regular fan of TVB themesongs, because it sounds like one of those. My favorite track, "Turtle Rabbit Race", is a fast and decent song that is surprisingly from Niki. The other song, "Moonlight's Kiss", isn't too bad either. I actually like 4 songs out of five on this album (exclude instrumental music of course). It isn't too bad for an actor-turn-singer album! (compared to..Bowie Lam, Benny Chan, Gigi Lai, Nadia's old albums O.O).
Overall, if you are looking for some change or shift in the Hong Kong music industry, this album isnt' for you. But if all you are looking for is some entertaining, the usual-hong-kong-pop stuff, this album might be worth checking out. =) Since i did not expect anything from this album, and it is surprisingly easy on the ears, i'll rate it a 6+/10
I hope Niki will continue to show us more improvements in her singing and contribute more of her acting talent to TVB and hong kong movie industry =)

Niki's autograph session yesterday had 500 fans there to support her. August 30th is Niki's birthday, and plenty of fans gave her presents early. She was very happy and said, "Even though I have to work on my birthday, it doesn't matter. The staff said they will help me celebrate."
What makes Niki the happiest is that, "Pure Niki"'s first batch of orders already exceed 8,000 copies: "People already want my CD! I hope it will sell more than 10,000 copies! Then I will certainly invite the staff for an expensive dinner! If it gets even better, then invite them to vacation!"
As with the rumors of Jade Kwan being forced out of the company, Niki was asked by the reporters if she went to the manager for comfort and help, she said, "No! My company told me not to answer anymore." Manager Lam San San who was by her side expressed she will no longer explain the company's business, to prevent anymore rumors!

Kevin Cheng and Kathy Chow were guests at a skincare promotion earlier and Kevin says that appearance is still very important for men and for him, it is easy to put weight on his face, so he is always looking in the mirror to remind himself not to put on too much weight.
Kevin and Kathy's sister Niki are currently filming together for TVB series "Lovers Under Sky Curtains" and it has been rumoured that he has been saving snacks for Niki. He admits that he saved a chicken leg for Niki during the blessing ceremony, but he also did the same for Auntie Happy Ha. He feels that Niki is very straight and a great partner.
Asked about the rumours between her sister and Kevin, Kathy says she does not rule out the possibility of them dating because they are always together at the studios, but buying snacks is a very common thing. She does hope that people are not too sensitive as there will always be sparks, because they are both single. This was the first time she had met with Kevin and she does not know him very well, but first impressions were good and she finds him very polite and sporty.

Niki Chow and Soler were at a technology function yesterday. Niki received a new phone recently. She said when she got it she immediately called Ekin Cheng. Niki says, “Ekin is really interested in technology. This time it’s my turn to be the ambassador of technology. I called him to make him envious and all he can have in his head is jealousy.”
Niki does not believe that she is too busy, making her use her phone to call and message her family and friends. But because she is a public icon and needs to be careful with her phone. Niki says, “I use codes to save the number’s of my friends and after reading my messages I will delete them straight away.”

Niki Chow and Kevin Cheng were filming for new series "Lovers under Sky Curtains" on location and Niki was asked about the news of some scars being seen on her sister Kathy's sides suggesting that she has had breast implants. At first, Niki refused to comment, saying she did not have anything to say about the report, but after much pressure from the reporters, she indicated her support for her elder sister: "I understand that there are a lot of made up stories in the news, so I don't want to comment. I find that the reports are very pointless and you should read them then forget about them. You can't expect my sister to open herself out for testing by everyone. All you can do is laugh at these pointless reports and move on."

With many engagements lately, Niki Chow was out and about again earlier after landing a six-figure deal to be the spokesperson for Segway human transporter scooters. She says excitedly: "To be the first spokesperson for this product is a great honour." The organisers had arranged for her to enter the venue riding a Segway, which U.S President George Bush also has, and asked if she was afraid of revealing herself, she says: "This is the first time I have tried this, so don't scare me. I have put something on underneath!"
Coinciding with the release of Niki's album, Niki is so nervouse that she has not been able to sleep. She says she will be buying her own album in the shops and if it does well, then she will take her colleagues out for dinner. At the moment, she is saving up to buy an apartment: "When I am rehearsing my singing or violin, I get complaints of people, so I hope that I can buy somewhere in the mid-levels that is around 1000 ft."
