TVB will be holding another special show on Sunday in the build up to the Olympic Games entitled "Lighting of the Flame Thundering Night" and there will be many special guest singers and artistes present on the night, including Leon Lai, Ekin Cheng, Miriam Yeung, Hacken Lee and Nancy Sit along with the usual group of Olympic Stars and over three thousand members of the public.

In order to mark the event, a press conference was held yesterday and was attended by the event MC's Carol Cheng, Chin Ka Lok and Vincent Kuk. Also at the promotion were Edmond Leung, Leo Ku, Don Li, Rain Li, Raymond Lam, Shirley Yeung, Sammul Chan and Bosco Wong. On stage, they each took turns to play games such as walking the beam. When Edmond mounted the beam, Chin Ka Lok joked: "You have to pass an alcohol detection test before you can do sport! You appear to have been a good boy this time and seem to be wide awake!" When Edmond heard this, he did a one-legged stance as well as a cartwheel, really putting his all into the game.

Later, Edmond apologised to the event producer Ho Siu Wai and at the time, Carol was by her side and immediately laughed at Edmond saying: "Don't be ill, you are too skinny already!" Seeing all the reporters camera's pointing at them, Ms Ho immediately said: "Don't be like that, he has already called me to apologise, so you don't need to do this." Edmond indicates that he has already apologised to the producer through the radio interview, but he felt it was only right to apologise again in person. As for whether he was requested to produce a doctor's note, he said: "It was not required, but if it is necessary, I can produce it." He is also thankful to TVB for not issuing any disciplinary action and when asked if he has breathed a sigh of relief, he says no because he is still very embarrassed.

In order to prepare for yesterday's event, Edmond went swimming early in the morning to get himself energised. He laughs: "You can tell by my face that I am full of energy today, I am laughing, but I am fine. (Will you drink less in the future?) I will consider it carefully, because drinking helps me to relax and to sleep when I am suffering from insomnia, but if I have to work the next day, then I will not drink."

Carol was asked about her feelings about TVB's new policies, but she says that her contract runs until September, so she is not affected for now. When asked what work she has lined up for TVB in the future, she says: "There are still a few small shows, I'll keep working until September first." Carol says that orginally, she had planned to use this time to go and relax, but with the spate of terrorist activity, she suggests that China is probably the best place to go. She would like to visit Sichuan because that is her ancestral region, but she has never been there. She adds: "At the moment, even Japan is dangerous because they had to pay $20 million in exchange for their three hostages and I don't want to lose my life whilst shopping, it is not worth it."

Having been reported to have been the target of Kary from Cookies' affections, Don Li was asked about an interview that suggested this. Don explains that the interview was originally about his music and he had never mentioned anything about love or romance in it, but later the content had been altered into an interview about love affairs. He says: "I have been in touch with Kary about it and I am very sorry to her about it all because this will affect her career. Originally we were quite good friends, but since that report, our friendship has drifted apart and I am very regretful. In the future I will be more careful about these theoretical questions and will reply more clearly and directly to avoid any misunderstanding."

Miriam Yeung and Nancy Sit met in the dressing room and when Nancy saw Miriam, she immediately said: "I only saw Ronald today and now I see you, I am afraid you wouldn't say hello to me!" When she said this, Miriam was rather speechless and just laughed as she posed for a photo with Nancy. Later Nancy was asked why she had said this and she replied: "In 'Virtues of Harmony' Ronald tries to date me and we do have some dating scenes, so I asked Miriam if she wanted those photos back!" Miriam responded when she heard this and laughed: "Nancy really is a master, I really have to learn from her to improve my wit, she can silence me with just one sentence!" She adds she does not mind these jokes from Nancy as she finds it a lot of fun!

When Edmond Leung sung his song "Footy Friends", the lyrics were found to have been altered slightly, with 'smashing drinks' being changed to 'shaking hands' and 'drinking beer' changed to 'go for a run' and raising suggestions that the song had been cleaned up after his previous incident involving too much drink. When asked about this, Edmond insisted that it was not related and said: "Don't try to link everything to that incident, there is nothing left to follow up on with that!" He says that the changes to the lyrics were to accommodate the boundaries of television and he had already passed the new lyrics to TVB, but they didn't change the subtitles and this was beyond his control.

TVB tried a new format for the show as they invited three thousand members of the public to join the audience, but only gave them standing space. However, maybe the performances weren't to the taste of the audience or the lack of seating left them all a little tired, so even before the end, half the audience had left and piles of litter could be seen for the cleaning team to tidy up. Faced with such a big audience in their first public performance, the Miss Hong Kong contestants were seemed rather stage struck, but did not make too many mistakes, despite being rather wooden.

I think edmond is a really good singer and muscian. He's song are great and I can't wait for his next album to come out.

I agree that he is not as popular as the other singers in the industry and definitely deserves more recognition for his work. He is one of the few singers that has worked to get where he is. Obviously times have changed now and many singers mainly rely on their looks to become famous. Many fans will now only buy CDs based on the looks of singers (naming no names) and record companies exploit this fact successfully. Edmond isn't the best looking guy in the industry and in a sense he has suffered. I think Edmond can become more popular in the future if he does an image change like Leo Ku and Hacken Lee. They have succeeded in gaining huge popularity lately.

Yoyo Mung and Edmond Leung were at the Mai Po Nature Reserve yesterday, preparing the stations for the 12th "Mai Po Environmental Walk" and actively promoting the environmental message to the public. Visiting Mai Po for the first time, Yoyo seemed especially excited and she said happily: "When I was young, I lived in the New Territories, so I do prefer the great outdoors. I have wanted to come to Mai Po for a while, but because you have to apply to enter, then I have never been. I did go for many hikes before, to places such as Lamma Island and Tai Mo Shan, but the most exciting time was when I went to a remote island with some friends and we had to split up to spend the night alone. I was really quite scared because I had nothing with me and just a little bit of sulphur powder to avoid the snakes."

Also, Yoyo's new movie 'Nightmare' will be released on Thursday and in the film, Yoyo and good friend Jo Koo are bothered by ghosts and spirits and need to find a way of exorcising them in a terrifying plot. During filming, there were a couple of strange occurrences and in one scene, Yoyo had to shoot a car crash scene, but she a little absent minded and stood in the wrong place, resulting in the car driving into her and injuring her left leg as well as leaving some suspicions about why this may have happened.

Edmond Leung Hong Man today released his new record EFFORT & LOVE. He invited Jan Lam Hoi Fung to be his art director. Lam designed a photo series with Edmond and a model in an intimate setting. Lam Hoi Fung even personally directed the shoot as two men sat on a sofa and studied make out poses in a grotesque yet humorous manner.

Edmond said that the cover is the most daring in Hong Kong history. During the over ten hour shoot, he and the model kissed for over 8 hours. The crew joked that he was numb from kissing. The label expressed that due to censorship concerns the photos will only be in the insert and initially was concerned that they could not appear on magazines and newspapers.

The press asked whether he would accept his model girlfriend if she had breast enlargement. He praised her figure and extremely opposed to her having her chest done.

(12/2/2004) Edmond Leung Hong Man earlier attended a radio raffle for seniors event. He first purchased 10 raffle tickets. The event gave a soccer ball to Edmond, meaning that the important duty of promoting has been handed to him. "Seniors have contributed a lot to society so we can have our lives today! Earlier I just saw the seniors performing lion dances, tai chi and fan dances, everyone was full of energy. I don't know if I have as much energy as they do!"

About James Wong Jim's passing, Edmond sighed, "My last record FOUR SEASONS (SEI GWAI) had a song LOVE IS ALWAYS HERE (CHING SEUNG JOI), which has already become our last memorial work. In terms of personal achievements or life philosophy, Uncle Jim is well worth us to model ourselves after. (12/27/2004) Edmond Leung Hon Man yesterday attended a radio event and still relied on crutches. Edmond expressed that the injury was already healing but during piano practice he used too much force and the wound opened up again. He expected that the crutches will accompany him to all four music award shows. Edmond said that after the injury his girlfriend had to help him with his pants and shoes. He said that luckily he got her Christmas gift before he got hurt, otherwise he could not have gotten it at all.

TVB's "Jade Solid Gold Music Awards 2004" will be held tonight at the Hong Kong Coliseum and a special blessing ceremony was held yesterday. As many of the stars were rushing to attend the Tsunami fundraising event, it was a rather hectic day for them all. The MC's for this year's show will be Cheng Dan Shui, Denise Ho and Ronald Cheng and among the presentation guests will be the "Olympic Duo" Ko Lai Chak and Lee Ching, Vivian Chow and Felix Wong. In memory of the late lyricist genius James Wong, the show has invited Francis Yip and the Wynners to perform some of James' classics.

With the main focus of the event being on who will take the "Most Popular Male Singer Award", Andy Lau, Hacken Lee and Leo Ku are still the top three in the running and Andy says that he is confident in winning but is not too nervous because since 2000, it has been four years since he has won it and no matter if he wins or not tonight, he will still be able to accept it.

When asked if he is confident in becoming the most popular male singer in the Asia Pacific as well as Hong Kong, Andy says with excitement that if this is the case then it would be even better. However, he says that he would rather pass on his good luck to the victims of the Tsunami disaster in the hope that they can rebuild their homeland. As for the rumours that Leo Ku is using the production rights to his concert as an incentive for TVB to give him the award, Andy says that he does not believe this and TVB is not so shady, with their own operating procedures that he has faith in. Having just completed his own concert run recently and unlikely to hold another one for a few years, Andy says he believes that he will have a chance to work with TVB on a concert.

When Leo was asked about this suggested deal, Leo said candidly that he has put a lot of hard work and commitment into his work this year and everyone can see this, so he will not enter into any such deals. As for whether his concert will be produced by TVB next year, he says he is not sure as yet.

Leon announced a long time ago that he would not be competing for the awards, but he will still be present at the JSG awards ceremony because there is a new section where he will be singing some classic songs to raise funds for the Community Chest. Leon will be heading out to Beijing on the 9th to take part in a local charity show before attending the film festival. When asked about his former rumoured girlfriend Day Wong's reports that she will be marrying Li Yapeng in April, Leon refused to comment, saying: "I don't care. Don't ask me, it is not me getting married." When asked when he would be getting married, Leon laughed and said when he needs to, then he will get married.

There have been rumours that some of the stars have donated some of their personal effects directly to help the victims of the disaster and Edmond Leung was reported by Andy Hui to have donated a crutch. However, Edmond denies this, saying that a crutch would probably be more useful to a pensioner than to a victim of the tsunamis. He says that the appeal is not a joke and donating a crutch is not an auspicious gesture. Edmond says that he will not be angry at Andy for suggesting this and he will be donating a diamond necklace worth $130,000 for the charity auction in the hope of raising more money. Andy explained himself, saying that he was in a rush when he called Edmond that day and caused a misunderstanding, but this is not important because they are all doing their part.

Edmond Leung, I havent heard from him until the recently aired "Heart of Fencing". Last time I saw him was years ago in "Miu Gai hing dai" Well, his acting hasnt really improved, its still decent overall, not the best, but definitely better than most newcommers. Thats why I thought his performance in HoF was great compared to the rest. As for his singing, I think he's a great singer! The song from the series is a great song that ranked in the my top ten for awhile. His singing career should be prosperous as he has the talent, the voice, the charisma.

Edmond praised Eason for becoming more mature after becoming a father; Eason praised him for his passion for music. "I am a part of his new record creation team." Edmond Leung, Leung Hon Mun, he is a good singer, not too great looking. I dont' know how to enjoy his music and his looks. I am not a fan of his for sure and dont' like him much.

Edmond Leung's birthday party

Gold Label manager organised a birthday party for Edmond Leung. Everyone in the company attended and ate ‘hot pot’.

Edmond’s birthday party was only for people of his company but when陸續 came, Edmond was surprised. Miriam Yeung who was busy filming her MV also came, which was a pleasant surprise for Edmond. William So and Ronald Cheng entered the room with a cake, with so much support from his friends, Edmond was very emotional. William had especially changed a flight to mainland to come back and give Edmond a present.

The present William gave Edmond was an ‘Undercover Jacket’ which William, Eason Chan, Dicky Cheung, Au Yeung Tak Fan, William Wong and Andy Hui specially chose for Edmond. Edmond immediately tried on the jacket after receiving it. Paco Wong on behalf of the company gave Edmond an i-pod and said, “You have to put all your good songs in here! If you can’t fill it up, I guess you have to work harder! Haha!”

On the night of the birthday party, everyone was extremely happy. After having ‘hot pot’ everyone sang karaoke. Edmond’s birthday wish is that all good songs should get good results. He has not released an album this year, but will try harder next year and hopes his good work will not be forgotten.

Sometimes i find him cute and sometimes i think he is handsome. Its too bad that Edmund singing is not really doing so well as too compare with Andy Hui and William So.
