Although Sheren and Kevin Cheng were a rumored couple, Kevin approached Sheren to say something friendly, in order to make things better.


After receiving the award for the "Most Extraordinary Female Artist" last year, Sheren Tang seems to be out of the spotlight, with Gigi Lai gaining more publicity.


While in the make up room, Gigi Lai had many people helping her, such as her personal cosmetologist Ricky to help her, because Gigi takes very good care of her skin.


Standing in the front row, Gigi Lai gets the "honor" of cutting the cake.


Last year, Sheren Tang had a 'higher position', standing next to the executive and being present on the front row. (Even near the cake!)


Sheren had five or six people helping her put on the make up last year.


Compared with the amount of people helping Gigi, Sheren had only one assistant this year.


At last year's TVB Anniversary awards ceremony, it has been rumored that Sheren Tang should have won the 'Best Actress' award, but instead, costar from "War and Beauty," Gigi Lai, won the award. This year, TVB seems to 'value' Gigi more, as Gigi was in the front center row, showing her status in the company. On the other hand, Sheren Tang, last year's hype was placed in the third row.

During the lighting ceremony earlier this month, veterans Liza Wang and Dodo Cheng still held their position by standing next to "the boss" of TVB. In addition, top actresses such as Charmaine Sheh, Sonija Kwok, Melissa Ng, Gigi Lai, Kenix Kwok were in the front row, while veteran actress Sheren Tang, stood in the third row with a nine month experience Mandy Cho and Miss Hong Kong 1995 Winnie Yeung. Because Moses Chan was in front of Sheren, his height blocked Sheren's view many times during the ceremony.

Earlier reports suggested that Sheren is not unhappy with her seating this year, even though Gigi got five-six people helping her in the make up room, it seems to be similar to what Sheren had last year.

This year, Gigi Lai filmed a grand production "Fire Dance Yellow Sands" for TVB and with Gigi's series "Beneath the Charm" being the anniversary series, Gigi's popularity sure increased. Although Sheren Tang has an upcoming series "It's Hard To Be a Woman" for TVB, it seems that she is sharing the leading female role with costar Melissa Ng.

Do they really need that many people to help them out with one face. I kinda feel sorry for Sheren too, she's been around longer and I think she did a better job in War and Beauty than Gigi.

Entertainment circle is lik tat...Sheren Tang didn't casts much drama series this year compare to Gigi Lai..Gigi Lai had been casts in Healing hands 3...Only have 1 drama series but is a big production...

gosh!! i hate this kind of comparision. its really very pressurising for these people in the industry. they view their popularity and status according to the no. of helpers they've had.

in term of acting skills, Sheren is by far one of the better actresses. as for gigi, of course, its good of her to finally have a taste of fame considering that she has been in this industry for 10 over years. but acting skills wise, i find that there's still room for improvement for her.

hm. the pics aren't very reliable . . . i mean the pics were all taken from different times. One was with Sheren in a red dress and another in a black dress. now OBVIOUSLY it was from different times. anyway, what's the point of saying the obvious, even if it might not be true? Each artist is bound to have the highs and lows of their career, it's just how they handle it that counts.

Gigi got a pretty face but i dont think she a good actress or singer

i felt that sheren did a much better job in war and beauty also. i hope she would be able to get more chances to be in series next year. i think it is so unfair for her since gigi has only been in like two serie this year including beneath the charm and she is gaining a lot of popularity while sheren hasn't been in any this year but her contribution has been a lot over so many years and she isn't being recongize for any of the hard work she puts in.

I feel the same way, I hated whenever I heard Gigi speak...I ended up fast forwarding whenever she was on screen... hehe

I love Sheren soo much more. Sheren acts sooo much better than Gigi. They promote her more because she's younger, psh! I think Sheren deserves more recognition.

Gigi is more marketable therefore its no surprise that TVB are promoting her. Sheren is really underrated and she was robbed of the best actress award last year. In terms of acting i think Sheren has a slight edge but its all about popularity these days.

This is what I sometime dislike about TVB (or maybe other tv stations as well). They dont show enough appreciation towards actresses such as Sheren Tang. Thats one of the reasons why there have been great exodus of actors and actresses out of TVB.

I'm verry happy for gigi. She has a high position in tvb but she has worked very hard for it. But i feel sorry for Sheren. I would be so angry if i was her: to be place in the third row next to mandy cho the newbie. Anyways, i hope that she will have more offer and can have more opportunity to show her talent.

I agree that Sheren's performance was much better than Gigi and I don't think she really deserves the "best Actres"" award last year. I think that Gigi can improve her acting much more. Gigi was of the five nominated actresses the last one that I thought would get that award. Hopefully will this award go to a good actress this year. The comparison is not really important, but I'm happy to see that Charmaine is still standing in the front row.

i can't believe they're creating the battle between sheren & gigi again. Give it a break. How can they compare sheren & gigi since they are both different in many ways and have their own supporters and are value by tvb differently. I think sheren placed in 3rd row is because she only has 1 series out this year and she has been taking breaking from filming for tvb while gigi has been filming tvb series constantly. Besides, i think row placing isn't that important...the importance is the quality of the series.

i feel so sorry to sheran....her acting is great than gigi a lot....but tvb seems like left out sheran.....if i was sheran i wont be in tvb anymore...i will try other thing like moviw..i think sheran gt recognization in many company......

I think viewers should watch out for Melissa Ng as I think she will be the next TVB artist to make it big.

i'm gettin kinda sick of seeing gigi in series now..maybe because they broadcast one series after another like healing hands 3 and now beneath the charm..i hope to see Sheren Tang in more series. I feel bad for Sheren that she lost her popularity in tvb, but hopefully things would be better soon or next year.

I'm only ok with gigi. It really annoys me when she does crying scense. can never make sense of what she is saying. Sheren is a better actress out of the two of them.

This news seriously pisses me off. how can they treat Sheren like that? The unfairness of the TVB hierarchy makes me sick. Just b/c Gigi had more series out this year doesn't mean that the quality of her acting is better than Sheren. This is like the most overstated line, but i'm still going to say it: Sheren deserves way better than this.

There's always battles amongst the actors. One minute you are at the top getting all the attention and the next minute you've been bumped down. That's just how show biz is... very cruel and heartless.

i'm not a fan of gigi lai at all or sheren teng...they're ok but i think there are many better actresses out there! i guess tvb want to change it up a bit - just cos u are front row one yr doesn't mean u have to be next yr! that's what it's like in the entertainment industry! so fickle and always changing! there will always be someone younger, prettier and more oustanding than you! as long as you have loyal fans and can keep working then i think they should be happy.

Seriously, i think Sharen is better at acting than Gigi. Sharen should of got the award last year, but instead Gigi got it. I wonder is it because of the relationship that her grandma has at TVB that she got this award......

it seems like almost everyone said "gigi didnt deserve the award last year" i do think so too, im neutral, im not a fan of either one of them, but after i watched WAB ( long long time after TVB anni 04 ) and i was really really MAD when i see gigi's acting, i dont get how she could get the award of best actress. seriously, in that seri, i rated sheren the best, second is charmaine, third maggie and gigi last. her crying skill sux, its so annoying whenever she cries, it just pissed me off so bad. anyways, wish sheren lots of luck next year then !

Sheren Tang definately deserves better. She's a fantastic actress who's done a variety of different roles, as good and bad. She's been a mom, a daughter, and generally acted in roles ranging from 25-40 years old. Gigi just doesn't have the same versatility. Plus Gigi's voice just turns me off. =)

it has always been like that in d entertainment circle. a yr can make a huge difference...ppl can't expect to stay at d same position forever. when u're famous, u gotta expect to fall one day because it won't last forever. this is nothing surprising...hope sheren can take this with an open heart. sometimes its not so easy to let go.

Wow, the comparison is quite harsh. I think it's perfectly okay to have just one makeup artist help you out with stuff. I like both Sheren and Gigi as actresses but this article is mean to Sheren. I think Sheren's a great actress, she just hasn't been filming much.
