I think there are a lot of supporting actors who deserve leading roles. For example, Savio Tsang is a really good actor, but he always gets stuck in the evil roles or the good guy turned evil and vice versa, but never the leading role. I also think that Michael Tong deserves a chance to lead a series. He's a really consistent actorl. Who do you think deserves a big break?

I think Marco Ngai, Evergreen Muk, Lai Yuee Chang, and the guy that casts as Super in Into Thin Air. There might be more, but these four are the ones that I can think of right now.
Marco ngai and Micheal tong..kevin finally got his big break hopefully they will too.

Definitely Marco Ngai. He's portrays all his characters to perfection. He's better than 90% of the actors in TVB. But he had never got a leading role once. Nobody deserves it more than him. I think he has already proven to be very versatile and capable on taking a leading role. He even shines out more than the leading actors. I think he's one of the most flexible & versatile actors, he can take on any character.
Others - Joyce Tang, Wayne Lai, Jade Leung

Marco Ngai played a lead role before. Can't remember the name though... it was ancient drama with Eddie Cheung who played a king way back in the early 90's and there was another one with Ekin Cheng
Joyce Tang also had lead roles in The Placebo Cure and Summer Heat
Wayne Lai finally got his first lead role in Pages of Treasure and most recently in Rosy Business

I think Derek Kwok is a really good actor too, he never really gets main main roles, unless there are ones I don't really know about...
But he usually gets like..secondary roles that are almost main or slightly main or main-ish but never like the actual
main character...
If that even makes sense..I think I used the word main a bit much.

i think that supporting actors and actress play a rather important role. Just because they are playing a supporting role really well it doesnt really mean that they can handle the main role. for example with Angela Tong, she has always been really good as the supporting actress but in marriage of inconvenience, she was quite bad. u just cant really get it in ur head that she is the main actress and she didnt really do that well.
however i think that some actresses who have at some point been given the chance to play main characters should be given the chance again to play them. for example Annie man use to play the lead and did pretty well so she should be given the lead role if she returns.
other people like Tavia should be given the lead now rather than sharing with somebody.

Of course many supporting actors deserve a leading role but the problem is can they carry it by themselves. Not everyone can be a Wayne Lai.
But some of the most underrated supporting actors are Derek Kwok, Power Chan, Stephen Au, and I'm glad the OP mentioned Savio Tsang(but he is kinda old to land a leading role).

Here's my point of view. If... most of the supporting actors deserve leading roles, who will play the supporting roles then?

Definitely Power Chan....he's a great actor but always underutilized. I first noticed him back in 1991 in "The Breaking Point" and already I was impressed -- I didn't realize how versatile of an actor he was though until I saw some of the series where he played more mature, serious characters...like Sunny, he came out of the Acting Academy as well, so no wonder his acting is good.
Derek Kwok is another one who definitely deserves a leading role...his acting is quite good and he's been in TVB so long, I can't even remember when he started. From what I've seen so far, I think he has the potential to be another Wayne (or close to it at least)...
And I also agree with HySquared -- not everyone can be a Wayne Lai (he's awesome!) -- an actor who is so incredibly talented that he is able to handle every character perfectly well...
As a side note, there's also those "super" supporting actors who will never be leads but are completely satisfied and fine with playing the supporting role and are so successful at it that oftentimes they overshadow the leads in almost every series (Benz Hui is a great example -- love watching him!)...

Many actors should be given a chance to be the leading actor such as Chris Lai and michael tong.

Maybe Derek Kwok. He's becoming more popular now and he has been in TVB for a very long time too.

Definitely Derek Kwok, he is amazing but always gets supporting roles.
I also think Selena Li, she's improved so much. And I would like to see TVB give her an opportunity to have a lead role. They gave one to Linda! >.>

After watching Rosy Business and BTROC..
Susan Tse totally deserves a leading role as a villian...
